Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

SM is just too much. He orders his dad around and acts like he's in charge of everyone.

The worse SM behavior yet is making Ja Young's mom wait in that restaurant. He knows she was very ill and just got out of the hospital. But he was ashamed to see her so made her just sit there. When he finds out she is still there (not sure of how long) he finally slithers in to face her.

Then later JY's mom keeps it secret that she saw SM. I think she knows JY is going through hell right now and knowing her mother knows will only cause her more heartache.

Then slime ball demands his dad never see JY again. That wasn't good enough. He meets with JY and tells her SHE will make things worse for his dad if she meets him again. He's blaming HER??? OMG I can't stand him..

Mi Ryung sets Tae Young up to have lunch with him. He gives her a ride back and notices Sun Joo waiting for him in her car. He rushes MR home and goes back but SJ is gone. He has to hop on the freeway and go looking for her. They end up (where else) at the Han River. They are definitely attracted to each other.

I think MR's parents are amazing. They remind me of my own parents. My parents were married 53 years and my dad adored my mom. MR's parents are like that. Very affectionate. So sweet.

JY is getting sick often now. She'll have to tell the slime ball. Maybe this will make him come to his senses? Doubt it...

Wanted to jump right in to #9 but will have to wait a couple days...

I had planned to participate in this “scientific” study, but… It seems every time I started to do “research”, my wife would come by and wonder what I’m up to. She knows who LTR is. And rather than go through a time consuming justification process, I’m just skipping this.

Further: Lee Yu-Ri has sure matured (physically and in her acting ability.) I liked her in YH, but thought she was even better in Mom's Big Upset as the sister who married the boss's son. She seemed a whole lot rounder in Mom's Upset.

I didn’t recognize her in MDU. My wife did. I haven’t seen her in other roles; if I have, I didn’t know it. There’s still a lot of Kdramas I need to catch up on.
On a physical level, I think she one of the more attractive actresses out there, and yes, she sure can act.

……….. I am not talking about the way his feelings have apparently changed re: Ja Young . I am talking about the way he is treating her . He doesn't seem to care if he looks like a selfish "Nappun Num " ( complete jerk)
…………………..

I planned to give a little more slack to SM this time around, but he’s just too much. And I agree, JY didn’t really know him. He was getting what he wanted all these years so he didn’t have to show his true colors.

And futher: Where am I going with all this ? He doesn't deserve JY , and she is better off without him . I don't think we could get HER to believe that - especially if she is pregnant . Yes , I know what it means when a young woman gags over her sweet potato.

I’ve watched enough Kdramas now to pick up the pregnant signal. It got me thinking though, are there equivalent signals in American drama, but we’re so used to it, we don’t even think about it? Can anyone think of an example?

nsheldon, Hope you enjoyed the 4th in your cocoon.

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

I am checking in the den after first watching ep 9 . I think the action is going to slow down a bit - as JY has apparently taken a pregnancy test - at least we know she bought it .....but we don't know the results .
At this moment , I don't know if J Y knows the results either . emoticon Maybe I need to pay stricter attention .

Anyway , I am not the only one that can't see something . Mi Joo can't understand why SM's dad doesn't run right over and welcome her to the family with open arms . Perhaps I should join those two for a tropical drink and explain it all for them .

LOL .

In answer to Adwatcher's query ( I have been wanting to use that word all day emoticon ) I think I have an answer to his questions about signs that a woman may be pregnant in our films in our culture .If I had to pick one , I would say that our females are more apt to faint instead of gaging over , say , sweet potatoes
As someone who is NOT a big fan of sweet potatoes - whether straight from the corner or doctored up with butter brown sugar and/or marshmallows - I MIGHT GAG ANYWAY . LOLOL .

Later

Well, just finished watching ep 9. Yep, the action has slowed down. I'd call this a "filler" ep. It just furthered the fact that JY is "with child" ,that the friend from the hospital is not in dire straits, and ...surprise! SM's dad is not happy with Minjoo.

addie, thanks for responding to my query. And if you do meet Minjoo and SM's dad for a tropical drink, don't forget to invite me too.

Adwatcher: LOL don't get caught sneaking info on LTR!!!

I haven't gone to #9 yet but will soon. Been gone from the house so many days lately that I'm falling behind on everything!!

Min Joo is blind when it comes to SM. She is a woman with power and she will do anything to get her man. OMG JY you are sooo lucky that MJ showed up to steal your man from you!!!

I was so sick with my first pregnancy that I threw up every single day, including the day I gave birth!! The 2nd time I was only sick a couple months...

Yes, I stayed inside on the 4th and just watched dramas. I loved it!!! emoticon

I figure that Minjoo and Sangmin deserve each other, and Jayoung is lucky to be rid of him.

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

Episode #9... It just makes my blood boil to watch SM's stubborn cruel face. Hyena I agree, him and MJ deserve each other. Neither has a shred of decency in them. Both are selfish and self serving. All I can do is curse at the TV..

I remember this being my absolute favorite drama ever, until I watched Bizarre Bunch. I think I know the reason why BB took 1st place in my heart. BB had something YH doesn't have... HUMOR... YH is still a fantastic story and well worth the watch but it's hard not to feel anger with each episode.

Ok, so it's pretty clear that JY is pregnant. What will she do now... abort or try to get her worthless piece of crap man back? I'm sorry but there is no way I would have that man's child!!

So Tae Young doesn't see any reason to see Sun Joo anymore. MR is all over him worrying about him seeing her but he told her SJ was out of his league and his business with her is finished. SJ doesn't know that though. She's going through some tough times and I think she felt a bond with TY.

JY's mom suspects that JY is pregnant. Her heart is broken.

MR's parents are adorable. The affection they show one another is precious. MR doesn't realize how lucky she is to live with parents like that. She's soooooooooo irritating to me.. I can't stand her voice. She goes in her dad's business yelling 'where's TY' and the guy is talking to a customer on the phone. She could care less. She's another selfish, rude, loud, obnoxious character!!

I will try to get to episode #10 either today or tomorrow...

I'm so happy.. My middle granddaughter is coming tomorrow. I haven't seen her since November.

after episode 10 , I understand why you all hate SunMin so much . I would have trouble defending him in any way shape or form - it seems that he is a total opportunist , and has no heart or conscience besides .

I find My Rungs parent to be very cute , and I don't think they deserve an ungrateful daughter like her .

As far as TaeYoung and SunJoo , they have a natural attraction which is hard to resist . That is one of the stories that is going to be fun to watch emoticon .

I think that JaYoungs family will gather around her , and she is sure going to need them .

I like Miryung's parents, too, (Dad is one of my favorites actors) but I think they're devotion to each other has left Miryung out a bit. Not that she was neglected, but I think the parents have somehow not done a good job raising her. I'm not saying this really well--it's kind of like dad and mom are busy with each now, go play with your dolly.

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

Sorry, everyone ,who is coming to the den to watch Yellow Handkerchief .

I fell behind ep 11 while watching another K drama yesterday . I am still a little confused at the format here .
I think we are waiting for people to catch up , and I do not see a problem with that . I just want to try to stay on schedule for those that are up to where I am .
So , I will watch 12 tomorrow , 13 on Thurs , and 14 over the weekend . If anyone wants to change that , please jump in and let's talk .

I may be out of my mind , but I also was wondering if anyone wants to watch Be Strong Geum Soon when we are done here . I would be willing to join in for that .

Back to Yellow Handkerchief : after 11 , I really have to feel for Ja Young . She has been hit with the equivalent of lightening to the head in the past week , and she is not feeling well physically as well .

I will go back to my previous statement that SungMin is not worth it , but it is really something when he tells her that he is so over her , and is ready to marry someone else . I guess 6 weeks previously he didn't feel the same way - or it was a big giant act .

Obviously , JaYoung didn't expect to get pregnant , but even as she did - she thought she was in a committed relationship with someone who not only had a long history with her , but was engaged .
For SM to act like this is all JY 's fault tells me that he is just an animal - NO ! That is an insult to our 4 legged friends !

He is unconscionable . I think he deserves whatever blows that family feel like giving him - I just hope JY's mom doesn't have a heart attack over this .

If Mi Joo feels that this whole scenario is ok , than " On her head be it " I think that someone lie SM would have absolutely NO Problem doing the same to her down the road ...or she will share in the negative karma that SM has just unleashed on himself .

WOW - this IS going to be good !!

AnyHoo , the more I see SunJoo , the more I like her . Sure , she resents MiJoo - but I think a lot of that is because of the condescending attitude MJ has towards SJ ;s mom ....plus MJ is smug and superior towards
SJ too .

I can totally see SJ together with Tae Young . I think there is strong chemistry between those two , but of course TY is feeling inferior . ANYONE but MyRung - PUH-LEEZE !!

back tomorrow
