I just finished watching 48 , and I will read nsheldon's take on it when I am finished with this post .
I can hardly believe what a day Ja Young is having . Incredible , but true - all the action in this ep takes place on one day . That being said , I can hardly believe that JY can get any work done ! At the very least , she has a very understanding boss . If I can find out where she works , I will go and apply immediately (  )
The first meeting - with Young Joon's gramma - was no laughing matter . I can't be too harsh against the gram , but it was heart breaking to here her say " You know I like you , right - BUT - " It was one thing to disapprove of a match , but quite another to go and actively interfere in another's life like that . I just would
NOT have it in me . Also when the gram asked if JY liked YJ , and JY looks up with tears in her eyes .....I don't understand why gram couldn't give it another thought . It certainly would have been ok with her if JY had an abortion .
I think that JY , beside the fact that it is her right to choose , has the whole idea that this pregnancy is all tied up with the loss of her mother . Some people believe that a life begins when one ends . I don't know about that , but I DO know that everything is easy in the abstract . Ja Young has been living in a bubble the past nine years , and most of it was false . She has been given the rudest awakening I can think of = almost an avalanche of events . Maybe she believes that she must deal with this because it it is one thing real out of the whole mess . If she is a pro lifer , I do think it is possible to separate the baby from the thought of the father , and just love it for itself . I hope that when JY insists that she is taking responsibility , she isn't really equating responsibility with punishment . That is not fair to the baby .
Before JY can even get back to work , YJ shows up . Actually , I am glad that he did that . After he heard that his gram had "the talk " with JY - he would have to !
JY , I'm sure , believes she would stop seeing YJ for his gramma . I just can't believe it . She cares for him
( I don't care what words they choose - she loves him ) and she has come to depend on him . If she didn't , she would never let him keep hugging her . She isn't hugging him back because that won't happen til she agrees to get married . Stop seeing Young Joon ? Not happening .
JY tells gram YJ will meet someone else ? NOT HAPPENING >
Just as JY is getting down to work , MJ calls . SHEESH 
Actually , I am starting to feel some sympathy for MJ . Now , before you start to think I am going all soft on you , think about it . Sure , she's the president of a company , but she doesn't have any friends . The only person she could think of was her friends girl friend that she hardly knows ? That is pathetic .
Plus , she is stuck with SM ( ok , she asked for that ) and is being chased by a FIL with a vile tasting elixir called koi fish extract . MAN , that guy is dense ( and he is lonely - he is not having the life he expected with SM and JY - JY would have been waiting on him hand and foot -) again JY gets the better end of that deal !!
SunJoo will have some 'splaning to do since TY saw her in a cafe with her date . I am surprised the date is not feeling the icy blast off the north slope that SJ is sending his way . I think she HAS to go out with him til she figures a way out of this - and I have faith that she will .
Darn ! now I have to wait til tomorrow for the next 2 eps !!

Ep 49 puts JY in am impossible situation with MiJoo . MJ doesn't have any friends , so she hones in on JY because she is Young Joon's GF .
I think they are out all the rest of the day , and SM ends up calling JY as MJ's phone is off . It REALLY bugs me the way he says "Nai - Ya " like JY is supposed to know who it is ( although she does ) ; SM is really being rude to JY , and I just don't like it . HE should know that MJ can bulldoze anyone into anything , and JY is just too polite and well mannered for her own good .
I think Gram is felling bad about her meeting with JY , YJ comes home with pie for Gram . He is still nice and patient , but again asks her if she wants him to be happy . I am starting to think that Gram is having a lot of pain over her situation .
MJ gets into a car accident with JY , and JY calls YJ - of course . YJ to the rescue !! SM insists on checking MJ into hospital , even though her only injury is an apparent scratch on the forehead . After SM & MJ leave the car , YJ asks JY if she would like him to check her into a hospital because he loves her every bit as much as SM loves MJ ( though I think that YJ loves JY MORE . Not sure what the real sitch with SM - MJ is )
Finally JY gets to back to work . JY at least now admits to her friend that she cares about YJ and doesn't want to lose him , but still doesn't think marriage with her will make him happy . Personally , I think JY is still too hung up on what everyone else will think - in a proper Korean way . I don't think YJ shares any of those concerns as he was in the US for 10 years . He probably assimilated what he liked best in our culture
even though he is back in the old country , I just don't think he would share some of the old fashioned attitudes .
As far as not seeing him , YJ is planning a family date .JY is at the hospital where MJ insisted she had something for her . Of course , JY has to run into SM in the hall . What a tangle THIS is turning out to be !

No , I guess that is a little harsh . JY goes to the hospital where SM tries to intercept her . Again, I do not like his rude treatment of JY . I know he is a P-I-G . but I also doubt that he really knew JY at all . Otherwise , he would understand why JY has been unable to turn down MiJoo's invitations . SM only has one thing right - he thinks that this wouldn't have happened if JY hadn't met YJ . But what is the good of bringing that up ?
It is a done deal !
YJ has planned a family dinner at JY's house , and he brought all the food . I think the way he is so comfortable with them , and the easy way he has done this gesture melts that last glacier in JY"s heart .
When they go for a walk after dinner , she tells him that she trusts him , but she couldn;t marry him because of her own issues . The most important fact is , though , when he hugs her , Ja Young actually HUGS HIM BACK !!!!!   
We have turned a definite corner here - WhOO HOO !! I am not sure I need to go out shopping for something to wear to the wedding yet ( LOL ) but this is definitely a good sign .
OK < SM's dad is a simpleton . He takes JY to a place where they always would eat together , and she tells him the happy news that she has found someone else . Next day , he takes MJ to the same restaurant .
 El es loco !! I am sure there will be fallout from that !!
Meanwhile , Na Young and her "you've got mail " workmate decided to meet . She realizes it is him and sneaks off before he can figure out who she is . That should provide some good drama !!
back tomorrow - looking forward to your posts .

I could hardly wait to watch ep 51 , and I got started early because of that . I don't know what I expected out of Young Joon's gramma , but I was unprepared for her reaction to seeing YJ and Ja Young together .
Gram hastened to reming JY that they had already had this discussion , but I think ( even though I am
biased ) that that conversation was unfair earlier . Gram surprised JY at work , and though Gram is a nice lady , and I ( generally ) still like her, it was almost like extracting a promise that is not binding . Gram knew that JY cared fro YJ already , and with YJ's devotion - what girl could turn that down ???
I do not think that YJ is the most handsome actor I have ever seen in Kdrama , but [biu] I [/biu] wouldn't be able to turn him down either !! He is just too wonderful !!
I seriously do not know what Gram expects . YJ and JY have both told her that they are serious and sincere ,
and that they will wait for her approval . If she is so worried about what other people think - why would she propose that they wait til the pregnancy shows ? These are mature adults - they are not 17 year olds . I don't believe they are going to change their minds .
Young Joon to the rescue !! I can't believe that he suggested taking JY overseas for a year !! what a lovely , lovely man !! So , they may not be married , but at least they can be happy and together . That should be enough , and that seems to be the theme of the rest of the episode as far as those two are concerned . They are in love , they admit it , and they are just happy .
I could not understand why SunJoo is so hell bent to marry that guy . Of all the young girls in this drama , she is the last one I would expect to see wearing a hambock and waiting on her in-laws hand and foot .
Then I ask myself - is she doing this to evoke a response from TaeYoung ??????? Are her text messages and pix an unconscious plea to be rescued ??
Meanwhile , MiJoo is having a cow over her father inlaw . I don't have A LOT of sympathy for her , but SM's abogee is a fool . Maybe she is so angry because it is payback time for the vile koi elixir . I bet that is the LAST time he dares to bring any fish over to their house . Indeed - maybe he will stop dropping over unannounced !!

Ep 52 , and I know what is really wonderful about cell phones - CALLER ID . If I ever heard my phone ring , and looked at the screen and saw SungMin's name , I would just bypass answering it .
I swear , SM has the ability to make ordinary words sound like an insult , and he gets a sneer or a smirl on his face that just makes me want to slap him .
I guess I was wrong about SunJoo . She bolted from her engagement party , but she didn't even call TaeYoung . He found out only because SM kept calling him and asking if he knew where she was .
I may digress for a minute , but I never understood why a Korean engagement party looks like a wedding reception . Could someone shed some cultural light on this ??
Anyway , SJ runs to the school where she and TY had been in the past . TY puts 2+2 together , but unfortunately he calls SM . SJ asks him why they can not run away together - she doesn't care what they have , but TY is the practical one and says she would regret it later . I can see both sides . SJ would throw all away for love , and TY knows what it is to be comfortable but poor . If I were SJ = to get out of the loveless and stifling atmosphere of her home of origin would be worth any material tradeoff .
SIgh . I do not know what SJ will do now . The fiance's fam is calling the whole thing off , and Mi Joo is feeling that the families reputation is to be tarnished .
SM looks like he is going to haul off and hit TY , and I will have to wait til Thursday to find out what is going on . I feel sorry for SJ's mom . She is not an advertisement for sticking to a loveless marriage - all she does now is cook for the family . I don't think she deserves the worry and fear that SJ is putting her through , but she doesn't understand her daughter either .
