Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

OK, got through #67 & #68

I can't see MJ and Dad ever getting along. She is impatient and doesn't want to deal with him. He is too blunt and rude and isn't happy with her as his DIL. He tells her the only thing that can give him joy in life is for her to get pregnant. I really don't blame her for not wanting to be around him.

Min Joo wants more than anything, to trust her husband. She wants HIM to tell her the truth. No matter how much she may not like it. at least she would know her husband is honest with her.

Sang Min ... well, I guess I have no defense for his point of view... sorry.

Sang Min is going behind MJ's back re the company... Hey, he's married to the president... but she is still the president, not him! How dare he meet up with that Mgr Kim and say those things (women run things differently) and wants this guy to influence MJ. How dare he!!! THen when MJ calls him he ignores it. That is a horrible thing to do in front of someone his wife, the president, works with. OMG I can't stand SM.

Sun Joo calls MR and tells her to come visit at the resort and bring Tae Young. TY doesn't want to go. I think MR wants to flaunt TY in front of SJ...

Sang Min meets Young Joon. YJ tells him to be good to MJ and that he should tell her the truth. SM has the nerve to ask YJ doesn't Ja Young's past bother him. YJ says not in the least.

SM says he won't tell MJ because of her temper. EXCUSE ME? He's the one igniting MJ's temper by not being honest...

Hyun Ji comes in Young Joon's room with drinks. She's trying to seduce him!! He tells her he values friendship as much as love. She tries to take off her robe but he stops her and gets mad. She goes to her room & cries. He goes in there too and apologizes.

Hyun Ji meets Ja Young and tells her she is causing Young Joon a lot of pain (between him and Granny) and that Granny will never approve of her. I can't even believe her nerve.

Later HJ tells YJ at the table that she met JY. When he gets furious, Granny says she told HJ to meet her in her place.. YJ says who is HJ to meet JY in his granny's place. Granny never told HJ to meet JY but she's siding with her because she wants to protect HJ. Granny says she considers HJ her DIL.

YJ goes in his room and packs....

Granny tells HJ to be patient and that YJ will come back to her. Shame on you Granny!!!

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

Watched #69 & #70 this morning. I have a cold so all I have is TV...

Hyun Ji comes in Young Joon's room AGAIN.. What is her problem? He tells her to get out but she ignores him. But she does admit to him that Granny had not sent her to see Ja Young... she did that on her own.

I really do hate Sang Min... He and Min Joo argue at the breakfast table then later he wants to kiss up to her and have her go see the property he already signed to obtain. It's like he is trying to take the company out from under her. I just can't stand this guy... He is my all time worst character..

Anyway, MJ agrees and off they go... until..... Ja Young is upset over MJ calling her the night before to see if maybe she was with SM. JY calls SM and he quickly hangs up. MJ wants to know who it was. Of course he lies. She knows he is lying and asks to see his phone. He refuses. SHe ends up getting out of the car... (will have to see that property later) ...

Normally I would put all the blame on MJ. She is difficult , selfish and cold, but SM brought all this on himself and I blame him 100% for MJ's twisted mental condition. He is basically torturing her.

SM calls JY back. She tells him to tell MJ. He yells and says, "I WILL"..

Mi Ryung's dad tells Tae Young the truth about that night. TY has a lot to think about.

Hyun Jin meets Young Joon and tells him to come home and she will leave. He blames her and says she's obsessed with him. He said him and JY have enough problems as it is. HJ wants to know what it is about JY that he wants. He says JY needs him. HJ tells him that's not love. He says he wants to do so much for JY because HE LOVES HER... HJ tells him to give her up because she's not giving him up. YJ gets up and walks out.

YJ granny calls JY and yells at her about YJ leaving and blames her. JY goes to YJ and is upset that he left home. YJ begs her to get married. She says they can wait 10 years if they have to. They just hug..

Sang Min is locked out of the bedroom and is banging on the door. Mom hears and calls MJ to open the door for him.. She does. He starts yelling at her and she tells him he drove her to this... YES YOU DID SM!!!!

JY makes nice meal and shares it with YJ. He is so touched.

Sang Min has breakfast with mom (MJ went to work w/o eating). Mom tells him MJ is nagging him because she wants attention? No, she wants the TRUTH...

OH NO... Ja Young goes to see Young Joon's granny. Granny screams at the housekeeper to never open the door for JY again. SHe tells JY she never wants to see her again. She blames JY for YJ leaving. JY cries and begs and then JY's granny shows up and so does HJ. Unbelievable site.. JY on her knees crying and her granny begging and YJ's granny yelling/refusing them... all while Hyun Ji watches.... (but I think I detected a bit of sympathy in HJ's eyes)

Then Hyun Ji meets with Min Joo and tells her all the details of JY coming, crying, begging.

I just thought of something... If Min Joo knows that JY was on her knees crying to YJ's grandma, wouldn't this let her know that JY is no way interested in SM?

Later, Grandma tells Ja Young that they have to give up Young Joon now. They did all they could but now it's time to give up... She tells JY, "You have to let him go"..

Hyun Ji calls Young Joon and begs him to come home and tells him that JY had been there with her grandma and that JY was crying and begging on her knees. Young Joon is horrified....

This show is just too good.

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

I am here after ep 69 , so I will read nsheldon's post after I finish 70 ,

Most of the time there is simply too much going on in each ep for me to post on 2 at once . I want to remember every thing I wanted to say - and it doesn't seem to work for me that way . So , excuse the double post , I CAN'T help myself .

I would have thought it couldn't happen , but I finally feel sorry for SangMin . I truly think that MiJoo has gone around the bend with her jealousy . I know that SM has not been able to be honest with her , but part of it is her incessant demands . He feels like a cornered animal , and although I am not his biggest fan we have to remember the facts . He is NOT having an affair , and he wouldn't even be talking to or seeing JY except it is caused by MiJoo .

MiJoo just doesn't know how to deal with people - not her stepmom , her sister , her husband -and she doesn't have many friends . She has ( as they say in Harry Potter ) gone mental . What would she have done - jumped out of the car ? If she isn't mental , then she is emotionally delayed . I would say she is in the 8 th grade or so , and she has to sneak to see SM's missed calls .

Note to the audience : Married couples should NOT work together !

I hope that TaeYoung doesn't have to agonize over his choice NOT to marry MiRyung . Thank goodness her father in an honorable man , and told TY the truth . Whatever MR's faults , however , her dad loves her . Why would he want her in a one sided marriage ? emoticon

Young Joon was absolutely right to walk out of his granny's house . I have felt granny was wrong all along siding with HyunJi over her own flesh and blood ....but romance NEVER works when one party is shoved down the other party's throat . The situation in that house was untenable as far as I am concerned . YJ has HJ coming into his room at all times unannounced , and he was surrounded by the both of them at meals . I was almost cheering when he walked out , and when granny started to have a "fit of the
vapours " I was so like 'NO - YOU do not deserve the smelling salts !! What is surprising about this ?? You
drove him to it !"

I can not account for HY's behavior at all . How many time does she want to be told by YJ " I love someone else " ??? Is she mental too ??

As far as Granny goes - she must be living in a dream world . What is it about YJ's behavior that says " I don't know what I want ?"
Does he seem insincere about JY to you ?

Let's look at the facts . I am guess he is in his early to mid thirties . He is an executive and makes BIG decisions for his corporation ., He lived in the US for 10 years before coming back . Why would he just sit back passively and let HY and Gram lead him around by the nose ?

I just DON"T get it !!!

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

OK , I am back and I am caught up on the posts .

I have to say that I disagree about MiJoo's unhappiness . I am tired of her playing the victim all the time . I think a lot of her unhappiness is brought on by herself . I still maintain that MJ and Sm are extremely dysfunctional , and their marriage is such a mess I wouldn't know where to start . Which magazine has a column called "Can this marriage be saved ? " If they were in it , I would have to say " I doubt it ".

Could you picture the 2 of them sitting on a couch in a counselors office . It would be a HE said , SHE said session ...and I would have to tell them both to cut the meadow muffins . They are both inveterate liars ,
( he didn't tell her about his ex , and she won't tell him that she knows who it is )
and have they ever had a REAL conversation ?

Hyun Jo has GOT to get out of that house , and preferably the country !!!!!!!!!!! By what right does she call YJ and tell him what happened . Does she think this will endear her to him ? I am so done with granny too . I think she was way out of line with her old friend , JY"S gram . I felt so bad for gram when she said she would get down on her knees too if it would help . That almost broke my heart . To be honest , I got teary eyed when gram and JY were crying together , and gram told JY to give up . Just give up .

It seems so cruel doesn't it ? They are at a true impasse . YJ gives up on his granny , and gram says to JY to give up as she won't get approval and she won't marry him without it . I wish she would - that's all I can say .

MiJoo looked ridiculous in her black suit with big white stripes and white accessories . I can't help but look at her feet .( emoticon )

It was a BIG finish to this ep - but I was glad to stop for tonight . I look forward to Yellow Handkerchief nights , but tonight's was especially heavy .

until Sunday

I think you hit on one of the problems I have in posting. I have to post almost immediately after watching an ep (or eps) or I forget what I wanted to say. The problem is I do this (read and post) late at night and half the time, when I’m ready to post, the runboard is doing a backup!
It says it will be done in twenty minutes, but I have gone back even hours later and it’s still running. I then put it off to the next day and rewatch the ep in order to remember what I wanted to post, so I end up watching most eps at least twice! Reading what others have posted sometimes helps, but it’s not a panacea. Heck, I started this post last nite and I’m having to wrap it up this morning.

and: I would have thought it couldn't happen , but I finally feel sorry for SangMin …………..

Well, I don’t and won’t. He deserves all the karma in his life. I only wish it were like that in the real world. I think he only cares about Minjoo’s feelings because it affects his ambition. Both MJ and SM are just ME, ME, ME.
I don’t think SM or MJ would recognize truth or compassion if you smacked them over the head with it. What’s really scary is that there are real people out in the world like them. Fortunately, (I hope) there’s very few.

MiJoo looked ridiculous in her black suit with big white stripes and white accessories . I can't help but look at her feet

I guess I’m getting used to them. I haven’t noticed her feet lately. I have noticed HJ is looking much better these days. I know the hair is a lot of it, but there’s something about her….
What I found interesting was when MJ called JY to check up on SM, no alarms went off for JY. I can't believe she would be so stupid , but I guess her figuring out MJ knows [she's the ex-girlfrient] would cut into several eps of this drama.

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

I agree that MJ is playing the victim. She lets everyone know it was SM's ex girlfriend that caused her miscarriage. If this baby meant so much to her then she should have done all she can to ensure it's safety. She is an intelligent/educated woman and would know you don't indulge in alcohol when you're pregnant.... Not to mention how she wallows in emotional distress all the time..

However, I think Min Joo is in a position (president of that company) where she has to be cautious about someone 'using' her. I understand that, due to everything going on, she thinks her husband is still connected to his ex .... and she's trying to make sure he loves her for her and not for her company.

I think Sang Min is doing everything WRONG in showing he loves his pregnant wife!

I also agree that both SM & MJ are all about ME ME ME ME ME ME..

Too bad Min Joo and Sang Min are both unwilling to be upfront and honest with each other.

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

Episode 71 is NOT any lighter than the last set .

I think that Young Joon had no choice but to leave his granny's house despite what Ja Young and Gram say . For one thing , he would feel suffocated in that house with HyunJi lurking around every corner . The fact that she is there gives Granny hope that HJ will eventually wear YJ done . I am also glad YJ found a place to live . They are at a true impasse , and something has got to give .

I think even if YJ passed on marrying JY , he would still feel too bitter to move back into that house . I , for one , would want to punch HyunJi next time I saw her if I were YJ .

I don't think JY is obtuse to keep trying to talk to Granny . If I think of her (JY) family of origin , I think that no matter what was done , there was discussion , forgiveness and resolution to all problems . It was not a matter of talking to a wall .

If I were YJ & JY , I would go ahead and get married and get approval later . I have a sense that that will not be the case , though , DARN .

I almost lost my teeth when MiRyung released TaeYoung from his promise , and he asked her to marry him all over again . I am still kind of speechless about that . I know TY is settling , even though he may (?) be fond of MR .

BTW they keep changing her look - almost as much as MJ 's . Believe it or not , I will refrain from comment on her today .

It looks like SM is getting his first dose of the guilts . I do not think there is anything he can do for JY , so I think he should stay home and just wallow in it . It doesn't look like he is going to do that either ....

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

ep 72 .

It wouldn't make much of a drama , but why doesn't SM stay home . Why does he think he can help JaYoung's situation ? I totally think they are both innocent , but you know MiJoo won't .

YJ is also kicked out when he finds out that Granny turned JY away at the door .

TY and MR are planning their wedding , but I just can't believe it .SunJoo is hired as a model for the resort . Yes , she is gorgeous . I wonder what this will mean for the Seoul bunch . Is TY marrying MR because she won't care if he doesn't make much money - and won't mind living with Gram ? I still don't think that is a good enough reason .

At least MJ is finally letting SM know that SHE knows everything .

Be back tomorrow

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

I think Young Joon IS totally sick of Hyun Ji. He wants her GONE and he wants it NOW.

When YJ finds out about the begging incident, he is horrified and rushes over to JY's and can only hug her. He told granny that he loves JY's baby as his own. He wants her granny to at least support them.

JY doesn't want to move away or get married without YJ granny's approval. JY was raised to be such a proper girl and she has enormous respect for her elders, including YJ's granny. She wants YJ to go back home so as not to put even more pain on his granny..

What!!!! YJ tells JY NEVER to go beg his granny again and she goes??? And what could be worse than to have MJ and SM show up while JY is at the gate, begging to be let in....

I'm sorry but I do not think SM has an ounce of remorse. The thing with this guy is, as long as JY is miserable and unattached, the more HIS life is miserable. If she marries YJ then he doesn't have to worry about that pesky little thing called 'guilt'.....SM's top priority is SM...

Sang Min can't sleep thinking of JY at that gate, begging. He goes to her and yells how can she have no pride and, "You don't deserve to be treated this way", "I don't want to see you humiliated"..."I left but wanted your happiness".... By this time Ja Young is sobbing (not for him!!!) and he HOLDS HER??? OMG - Ja Young... how could you!!!!

I'm so glad Sun Joo is modeling. She seemed to enjoy it and she is so beautiful...

The meeting with Sang Min and Young Joon... As usual, SM is looking his normal sour self! YJ is again upset w/JY and then SM tells YJ the he should protect JY... SM couldn't protect her and now he's got the nerve to tell YJ that he should be doing it?

Well, I guess the pictures came in.....

Seems Hyun Ji realizes that YJ loves JY and isn't going anywhere.. so she should go...

There was just too much in these two episodes..

Re: K-Drama: 노란손수건 (Yellow Handkerchief)

I have not watched today's eps yet , but I was so tired the other day , I don't feel like I said everything I wanted to .

I am really liking this drama , but it feels really hopeless right now . People like YJ & JY do not deserve all this grief , but they are stuck a vortex of disapproval .

I can't believe that Tae Young is willing to settle for MiRyung . Sure , she has some good points somewhere , but she is such a ninny he will regret his decision immediately . SunJoo may have to live her own life without him , but that is no excuse for him to chuck it all away .

SM + MJ = hopeless case . I throw up my hands on both of them , but I wish SM would stay the heck away from JY .

AS fa as HyunJi goes , I won't believe she has actually left til I see the plane door close behind her .
( And it would be even better if I see the plane take off )

later
