Re: Useful K-Drama Links
Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a great compilation of info!
I missed a couple of episodes of dramas that are on MBC and I just went to the MBC global media website. I'm very thankful to see that they even have the english subtitles, but I have a couple questions:
1. How do you navigate their site to find the right episode that you're interested in? And why do some dramas only have some of their episodes?
For instance:
- on "My Lovely Sam Soon", it looks like they only have one episode,
- but under "First Love of a Royal Prince", it has episodes bunched as 1-5 and 6-10 (even though there's 20 episodes total -- where are the last 10_)
- then under "Lawyers" it says that it has all episodes.
2. Is there an equivalent for KBS dramas? I'm 2nd generation and have a decent command of Korean, so for episodes I've missed, I suck it up and go to the website to watch them in Korean, but does anyone know of an easy way to watch missed episodes, subtitles and all?
(I'm particularly interested in the old daily drama "Yellow Handkerchief" and "Stairway to Heaven" as well as "Dae Jang Geum" the one about the royal Korean kitchen.)
Many thanks for any and all leads that can be provided!

It looked to me like older dramas generally had more video available.
There is no KBS equivalent as far as I know. KBS does have unsubtitled episodes you can download from them if you pay to join their program.
Some members here use software that allows them to watch the KBS video files in combination with subtitle files (primarily available at D-Addicts). See the Tech forum section for more help on that.

Useful K-Drama Links
Ah, I see the first third of the first episode of Dae Jang Geum/Jewel in the Palace is now available for download at MBC Global. Subtitles are different from those used in the showings in Chicago and on AZN and in the YesAsia.com edition. For example, I noticed that they had little annotations about each of the component characters in the prophecy.
Hopefully, more complete episodes will be made available.

I'll update the list, maybe after I write an auto-poster since the Useful K-Drama Links we maintain above is now available on at least five web sites, including some web sites in Korea. It was also shown on TV on KBS.
