K-dramas on DVD with ENG subs *updated 11/29/2007*

Can anyone answer please, regarding Yesasia.

If a drama says for example, Taiwan version or Japanese version, but it is region "all" with English subs, will the Korean actors voices be dubbed with Taiwan actors voices or Japanese actors voices on these versions?

In other words, does it mean we won't hear the Korean actors real voices on these DVDs?

I heard some of that on Kdramas clips on Youtube and it really takes a lot away from the drama for me, not hearing the Korean actors real voices talking and I'd like to know before I buy any of these versions of Kdramas. Thanks.

for the Japanese version of a K-drama on DVD, it's likely Korean audio w/ Japanese subs. You need to take a look at the audio specifics that Yesasia lists for the product. For the Taiwan versions, again, you need to look at the audio specifics that Yesasia lists. For the most part, Taiwan versions will have 2 audio tracks (one for Mandarin, and one for Korean), but the subtitles are Chinese, and are not turn-offable.

You might want to post a link of which DVD you want help with.

I have no particular DVD in mind right at the moment though a few days ago I found a few I might be interested in that wasn't available in English version. I don't remember the names now since I looked at so many.

I guess it's the audio part I'm interested in, I would like to hear the Korean actors voices. The subtitles part in fine with me whoever does it as long as it's in English. I think I understand it now.

Thanks so much.

K-dramas on DVD with ENG subs *updated 11/29/2007*

I have updated the links in the first post (all links should work).

Also, the following titles are now available for pre-ordering:
SBS Production [SBS] Long Road (this one stars Lee Byung Hun, Park Jin Hee, So Ji Sub, Nam Il Woo)

SBS Production [SBS] Kamgeun's Mom (stars Kyun Mi Ri, Lee Won Jong)

SBS Production [SBS] Money's Warfare [this is an updated link]

also, for future Yesasia purchases, please use this link: http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=32622&wgprogramid=1120 or click on the Yesasia banner at the top of the forum (do not use the search box you see to the side of this forum, it is not linked up correctly so that any purchases you make through Yesasia, will not benefit CJK).

K-dramas on DVD with ENG subs *updated 11/29/2007*

The MBC America release of Coffee Prince (with good subs like the Couple or Trouble Box Set) from the TV station like the KBS versions is already available for pre-sale and it will be released 1/25/2008. They are nice sets with extras too. I ordered it this weekend.

I wonder why Yesasia doesn't have it listed at their site, since they are also selling the other MBC America sets...or did I somehow miss the link?

And, KBS, after quite a long spell, is going to release an official DVD set with english subtitles for one of their dramas--Conspiracy in Court [Director's Cut] (aired earlier this year, before Flowers for My Life). Yesasia is only selling it on their Global site, but it can be purchased at other locations.

Looks like Tom Larsen's plan on getting a licensing for Conspiracy in the Court might be down the drain.

I don't know why Yes Asia doesn't have it listed yet but I also picked up Couple Or Trouble there before Yes Asia listed it too . I ordered Coffee Prince from a reliable site I have used before they sell KBS, MBC and YA sets.

Has anyone tried to order any more Drama City EOR's? I sent a email to email address listed but I have never heard anything back from them. I wondered if anyone else had any better luck lately.

You might have to call KBS-America or email info@kbs-america.com instead. I tried emailing the person who contacted me when I bought my first set Drama City EORs about 1-2 months ago and never got a reply (makes me wonder if he's even still working there).
