K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
Thanks for the great summary smoochie and you've said everything I was going to about Sunjae's reaction. I find him to be totally off the wall because they were never a couple to begin with. Feeling hurt that he knows he lost his chance with Yonsoo but accepting it is one thing but he acts like she was his girl to begin with and she cheated on him with his brother. He's all in a tizzy over a one sided love.
Sunjae may have known Yonsoo when they were kids but it was only for all of one day. He liked her then but so what? They were young kids for pete's sake and never saw each other again.
In between that time and the present situation now as adults, Minchul is the one who came to know Yonsoo first and your reaction to each other as adults matters more in my opinion than when you were a kid or who knew who first. Geez...
I'm only going on the premise that Sunjae thinks Yonsoo is his girl because he knew her when they were kids, because I have no other inkling as to why Sunjae thinks she belongs to him when she never gave him the nod.
Or is it that he thinks it's fate even though the other person doesn't want to go along with it? Give me a break.
If Sunjae wants to act out that she's his because of this reason, I think he has to come up with something better. I would say that she belongs to Minchul because he knew her first as an adult. LOL Such silliness, wouldn't you agree?
Well look, what else is Sunjae going on that they're a couple? The girl never gave him any reason to think that she liked him so he must be going on the premise that they have a history together, she gave him her drawing.
They are all grown up now and it is Minchul who played with her at work with the teasing and special looks. It was Minchul who Jonsoo always stared at in work no matter the reason. It was Minchul who took Yonsoo to the anniversary party for Victory and the art gallery. It was Minchul who Jonsoo discussed Sena's dream with asking for his help and it was Minchul and Jonsoo together who "traded" sisters. Sunjae didn't even know her yet. All of this as adults which means a heck of a lot more than one chance meeting at the orphange long ago.
So I wonder again why Sunjae thinks he owns Jonsoo's love. His reaction to Minchul outside by the car and his confronting Jonsoo after Minchul leaves is nervy of him. Since when does either one of them have to explain to him? He feels he has the right because he loves her? What has she done to make him think she's his girl? Give him a picture when she was a kid? And actually when she gave him that picture it was only in payment for the watch because Yonsoo didn't want freebees. Ha!
Before Yonsoo and Minchul came home Sunjae is sitting outside the house in the garden with tears in his eyes. Myungja is watching him through the window concerned about what Mimi said to her about him not knowing who his father is.
That meeting with Mimi is the start of Myungja's downslide. She will from now on be haunted by her own demons. She is very worried and she should be and I think she knows she made a serious mistake hiding the truth from Sunjae. She remembers Mimi saying to her "how could you hide his real father from him?" and it's laying heavy on her heart.
Myungja comes outside and asks a teary eyed Sunjae if something is wrong. He says no and goes back inside.
Sunchun is in his bedroom when Myungja comes in. I guess she gets up the courage to tell him that maybe it's time Sunjae knew the truth about his father. Sunchun looks shocked and angry.
Myungja tells him that Mimi met with Sunjae and that Mimi had deep feelings for Young-jun and she doesn't know when Mimi will show up again and tell Sunjae the truth. She wants to tell him first.
Sunchun eyes get so big that it's scary and he's surprised as anybody can be. He says he is the only father Sunjae has and he walks out of the room. Nothings solved and this will only eat away at Myungja...
At Victory, Sunchun is telling his buddy in crime about Mimi meeting with Sunjae so Sunchun wants him to find her "and take care of things."
Alone in his office, Sunchun watches an old video of that fateful day showing Mimi getting out of the limo waving to her fans and also Young-jun and himself and Myungja getting out of their limos. This was the day of the competition because also captured on camera was the moment Mimi lost and her shocked reaction.
What's strange to me is he then watches himself and Young-jun fighting in his office afterwards and him hitting Young-jun over the head with the trophy. I have no idea why that was taped do you? If it were me, I would have destroyed the tape on day one.
I loved that scene with Yonsoo feeding Minchul pieces of the fish she cooked for him in soup. And I too noticed she gave him the prettier bowl. He loved sitting there just watching her cook. I wonder what he was thinking. He wouldn't take his eyes off of her, he was very content.
The first time she put a piece of the fish onto his spoon he just looked at her and I thought this is probably the first time in this guy's life that a girl ever did this for him. But who knows?
What I do know is that he was very touched, you could see it in his face as he looked at her, it was something that lovers do, very intimate. And if you watch Yonsoo's face closely you can see the love that she willingly wants to show him and give him, she pauses to watch him eat never taking her eyes off of his face. Here, she is a woman taking care of her man.
After Minchul tells her it looks like she's waving a white flag to him and smiles, Yonsoo tells him "I won't try to deny that I'm attracted to you and have feelings for you. I won't keep fighting it" he looks at her so long before telling her she's brave but his look made me think that he can't quite believe that she likes him so much.
I think it's quite nervy for Sunjae to tell Jonsoo that Minchul doesn't love her and all the other things he said about Minchul. For all of their discord with each other, Minchul I don't think has ever said anything bad to Yonsoo about Sunjae.
While Sunjae was talking like this I thought of him as sneaky and underhanded, trying to get his own way by saying anything he has to. So Junior High, you know? Very unbecoming, below the belt sorta thing.
Hey, the "famous kiss" is coming up!!! You know the one where he walks in on Yonsoo at work and sees she needs some pepping up so he plants a sexy, very slow, open and close mouth kiss on an unsuspecting Yonsoo!!!!!!!!!!!
Who wants to take a crack at it???????????????
Yup! The best kisser in Kdrama land...without a doubt!
I love that picture!! I always said, he is best when he does nothing..........

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD Family
Jasy, you and I are in total agreement when it comes to Sun Jae and his over the top behavior. How dare he say to her to erase the last 24 hours!! Imagine?!? What if she liked the last 24 hours??
I know there are those who think its okay for him to act this way, because he loves her, but not me. I think he's totally inappropriate. I hope he finds a way to get himself under control, because if he acts that way every time he falls in love, there'll be nothing left of him. So ridiculous, running hither and yon, looking for her. She's not his business. He confronts Min Chul and he's left standing there. He confronts Yon Soo and he's left standing there. What doesn't he get?? Min Chul was clear. "Yon Soo is not your woman". Yon Soo was clear. "I love Min Chul". Don't you think its time for Sun Jae to move on.
The argument could be made that he loves her and doesn't want to see her hurt. But, Yon Soo is an adult. She's in love with Min Chul and has decided to take her chances with him. Its worth it to her, to see this through, no matter how it plays itself out. She gets hurt, she gets hurt. Think of all the fun she'll have along the way?? I'd go for it!! Sun Jae may be wrong, she may not get hurt. Either way, its her business and none of his.
The scene with her and Narae was very sad. We see that Yon Soo is not as confident as she'd have Sun Jae believe. She tells her friend that she was sad and worried all the way back to Seoul. She said she was so happy with him there and now she can't be without him. I think she's not sure that Sun Jae's not right and that may have been all there was that one night. Narae is so concerned for her, she asks why him?? Half of the population is men, why him?? HAS she seen him?? At least I know she has Yon Soo's best interest at heart and has no ulterior motive talking this way to her. She'll be there for her either way. Yon Soo cries and cries. She wants to be with him and is scared that its not to be.
Min Chul comes along and washes away her fears. Anybody want to talk about that?? I don't know if I can do it justice. That scene is so hot. No matter how many times I see him kiss her, that's the hottest kiss. The fact that they weren't really hidden and anybody could've walked up on them also adds to that. I love these two together.
I'm at work. I'll be back later.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello Again
I want to say a couple of things here about that scene.
Yon Soo is standing alone in an isolated corner of the store. I think she's going over in her mind the things she and Narae talked about. She seems to be feeling a little insecure still. She looks over and sees Min Chul standing there, behind a glass, staring at her with those eyes. He's seems to have been there a while. She looks down, suddenly shy. He approaches her and asks if she ate lunch. She nods, yes. He tells her he wanted to see her, but got busy with work. She smiles a shy smile at him. He tells her she looks tired, is she okay? She nods yes again. He hands her the cell phone and tells her "Lets go home together, I'll call you." She takes the phone from him this time. He moves in toward her and kisses her quickly on the forehead. She looks a little surprised, but likes it. He turns to walk away, looking like a kid with his hand in the cookie jar. That's one bad boy!!! He turns back quickly, surprising her and plants one right on her lips. Her reaction is to tense up for a second. After a second she's no longer resisting him. In fact she looks like she likes it. She looks like she likes it a lot. He is a great kisser. He gives her small sexy kisses and then he moves in for the kill. At this point she's got her arms around his neck and she's really into it. Big time. He walks away quickly. She still has the phone in her hand. She looks down. You've all heard of Hello Kitty, well this was Good Bye Kitty. She removes the idiotic, Junior High School charm that's dangling from the phone. I'd say she knows what side her lips are buttered on.
I have to say for pure hotness this kissing scene is my all time favorite. Besides the kissing, LBH's voice is so beautiful and deep, that everything he says sounds sexy. So intimate, just asking if she's had lunch. This guy's got it all, as far as I'm concerned. By the end of this scene, she feels better about them and not so insecure.
Think about it, they came back from the beach, he leaves for work, she goes to work and not one word all day. Plus all of the stuff Sun Jae said about him had to stay with her somewhat, whether she'd give him the satisfaction or not. For all she knows he could still be only nodding at her in passing again, like nothing happened between them. Her having contact with him gave her the feeling of security she needed. I'm sure that kiss helped too.
Great, great scene!!
I may be wrong, I mostly am, but in thinking about this I realized that once he saw Sun Jae's text message he had to get to her before Sun Jae did. From what I know from Kdrama, once Sun Jae declared himself to her, she'd have been off limits to Min Chul, even if she preferred him and turned Sun Jae down. I think that's the way it works. That's why he couldn't let her talk to Sun Jae that day. He knew what he was going to say and he couldn't let it happen. He made it his business to get to her first. Sun Jae by all rights is supposed to back off now. Min Chul told him, "Yon Soo's not your woman." I think that said it all. Sun Jae should get it, or if he doesn't, we can bring out the hand puppets.
I love this drama and I love sharing it with you.
I'll be back.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
I'm with you here, this is my #1 all time favorite kissing scene too and has been from the first time I saw it.
The day "after" was moving along after she spends the night with Minchul. After having to listen to Sunjae's rant and Narae's doubts, and being unsure how this would pan out herself, Jonsoo is full of worry and self doubt.
You know how when a girl is with a guy the first time and then if she doesn't hear from him the next day...(she's hoping for something, anything from the guy to acknowledge their togetherness) she'll think the worst? Well that's how it is for most girls anyway.
Jonsoo is behaving like this. She needs some kind of confirmation that all is well with them as a couple.
So here is Jonsoo standing deep in thought when Minchul appears. He notices her demeanor and asks her about lunch, if she's tired. She's acting very meek and her voice is barely audible. She is not the same Yonsoo from the night before. She's back to her walking on egg shells around him employee/boss mode.
Minchul picks up on it right away. He tells her he couldn't see her because he was busy. He knows she needs something from him because of her quiet responses to him. He has to fix that. And he needs something from her too.
Jonsoo's thoughts about him were all wrong. Minchul can't resist the moment and he kisses her forehead without another word. He is almost quite satisfied. Almost. He walks away with a smile.
He can't control his urge and comes back for more. He never puts his arms around her in an embrace. This is what I find so hot! He stands straight in front of her, chest to chest and keeps his face straight forward onto hers as he's kissing her, not leaning to one side or the other.
She resists ever so slightly with her hands but not really, and he ever so slightly presses his body back into hers, never missing a beat while kissing her. His attention is only on his kiss, there is no hugging. It's delicious!! Finally she succumbs to him and slowly wraps her arms around him.
Minchul has erased her doubts.
Good Bye Kitty!! That was the funniest thing when she yanked Sunjae off of her phone. Yup, it was Sunjae she was getting rid of after that kiss.
Interesting it wasn't at the beach that she did this. No, just like all of Jonsoo's doubts on the day after, that night could have just been an "in the moment thing."
On this day after, Minchul proved to her with his heat of the moment kiss that he was in it for the long haul with her, he was hers. He wasn't going anywhere. Bye bye Sunjae.............
I'm not sure smoochie, if Sunjae declared himself to Yonsoo she would have been off limits to Minchul.
I always thought the girl (or guy) would be off limits if she "dated" one of them. Then it would be forbidden in the family for the brother to date her afterwards.
Actually Sunjae declared his love of Jonsoo to Minchul in his office. As the tradition goes, wouldn't that have been enough for Minchul to have to back off then?
Maybe the older brother has more authority? Maybe only some families follow this tradition and not all? Maybe Minchul wouldn't even give a damn.
It could be that Minchul moved in on Yonsoo so quick after reading the text because he could have thought that once Sunjae declared his love to her, (and even though Minchul knew Yonsoo liked him), she might feel burdened with the two brothers fighting over her and Minchul might have been concerned he could lose her for that reason.
It's a good question smoochie and it never even entered my mind. I wonder if it would have mattered to Minchul though. Their family is not the norm. Minchul does his own thing and thinking. I do know he takes his older brother role seriously and demands respect from Sunjae. So who knows? Maybe emceema knows.
This drama is so good!

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD Family
This is why seeing a drama together is so great. We all have different perspectives and reading yours, Jasy gave me a whole different take on the kiss. You're right, no Kdrama kiss. A real, emotional, hot kiss. That LBH..... It was great. And you're right, he caught her mood the minute he saw her. He recognized that she was feeling a little doubtful. And he knew he needed to fix it. And he knew how to fix it. First he sort of apologized for not being in touch all day and then he did even better than that. He had physical contact with her, so her body remembered what his body felt like and her lips remembered his lips. So Hot!!!
I'm not sure if Min Chul would care about Sun Jae's reaction. I think he wouldn't, but for someone living in such a dysfunctional household, Min Chul is pretty traditional. I think if he'd allowed Sun Jae the opportunity to say what he wanted to say to Yon Soo, he knew it would get ugly after the fact. I think he took the initiative so that wouldn't happen and case closed. Yon Soo is not Sun Jae's woman.
I could be wrong and usually am, but I don't think his telling Min Chul he loves Yon Soo was enough. I think the games begin when he tells her. Until then I think its every man for himself. I also think that if Min Chul had any affection for Sun Jae as a brother he may have backed off, just knowing how he felt about her. We know there's no real brotherly feeling for Sun Jae, unless Min Chul feels like pulling the "Older Brother" card. Which he does often.
You make a good point, Jasy. With both of them fighting over her, its possible, neither of them would've won. Yon Soo would've been in an embarrassing and uncomfortable position if that happened. Its been bad enough up till now, without either of them saying anything and playing tug of war with her. One dragging her here the other dragging her there. In the end, Min Chul would've won, but after a long and ugly battle. Only because her heart is with him and always would be.
This is very, very interesting. Anybody have any insight into the culture and this question?? Please come in and tell us.
Great drama. Totally captivating and it only gets better and better.
I'll be back.
Later
These two look great together, on and off the screen. Isn't she gorgeous?? Isn't he hot??

Anyeong Hasaeyo! Good morning BDF
Smoochie: Thank very much for posting that picture of Minwoo (Summer Scent) and Minchul (BDF). My love for Minwoo has faded a little bit because I have not rewatched Summer Scent anytime this year and the year is almost over. Maybe I should visit him and see how he's doing. class blockquote I have to say for pure hotness this kissing scene is my all time favorite. Besides the kissing, LBH's voice is so beautiful and deep, that everything he says sounds sexy. So intimate, just asking if she's had lunch. This guy's got it all, as far as I'm concerned. By the end of this scene, she feels better about them and not so insecure. I agree with you Smoochie that this is the best kissing scene, ever, in a k-drama. Suky and Jongnam's (BB), Kijo and Taeyong (Lovers in Paris), Minwoo and Haewon (Summer Scents), three of my favorite k-drma love team, couldn't top this kissing scene.LOL! class blockquote It could be that Minchul moved in on Yonsoo so quick after reading the text because he could have thought that once Sunjae declared his love to her, (and even though Minchul knew Yonsoo liked him), she might feel burdened with the two brothers fighting over her and Minchul might have been concerned he could lose her for that reason.
Minchul was ticked off and jealous of Sunjae. Sunjae already told him that he loves Yonsoo. I don't think that at that time, Minchul was fully aware of his feelings for Yonsoo, so when he read that text message, without even thinking, he dashed out, get into his car, drove out front, in time to see Yonsoo walking out of the building. Yonsoo didn't know that Sunjae text her and that he was waiting outside. So when Minchul forced Yonsoo to go with him, he has no destination in mind. He just wanted to take her away from Sunjae. He didn't expect Yonsoo to protest and when she did, he angrily dropped her on the sidestreet. But he didn't leave. He watched Yonsoo get on the bus. That was also unexpected reaction from Yonsoo. He was feeling angry at himself for doing this to Yonsoo so he got out of his car feeling sad and sorry. Yonsoo saw that from the bus. That dejected figure of a man she already love. The rest is history.............
