K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
That bottom picture of Minchul and Jonsoo is one of my favorite scenes emceema, but I've said that before. Jonsoo is so cute with her laugh and Minchul is very much enjoying the moment after he just tossed caution to the wind.
Minchul is showing a side of himself that he usually guards. Running along the beach hand in hand was never planned but just a spur of the moment thing. Didn't you love how they looked giving each other the okay with just a rise of the eyebrow?
Lying on the beach laughing about their run, I think he actually surprised himself because everytime he laughs he covers his face with his hands. Is he a little embarassed and shy while Jonsoo laughs freely? I think he is very, very happy here with her. They compliment each other so well.
When she runs into the ocean, she sets him free. No thinking, no planning, no awkwardness, just the spare of the moment action. It was something Minchul really needed. It's a great scene.
What's interesting to me is the fact that though Minchul called the shots taking her here, Jonsoo, once lying on the beach and talking to Minchul, seems to be very at ease with him and easily puts HIS fears and doubts to rest.
She has an answer for anything he says. This is not the same Jonsoo at Victory. When Minchul doubts himself about his "thirst," that he's afraid for himself, she doesn't get all heavy about it, she simply tells him well then she'll have to just jump into the ocean.
She shows a carefree side of herself here and she eases his worries, and it works. He just runs after her and jumps in himself. It's hard to put into words what I see in this scene, but it's like she loosens him up intimately.
Remember, this scene comes before their hot and heavy scene in the car. I don't think he expected that to happen but Jonsoo's ease with him on the beach and the hugging and touching in the ocean gave him the courage to go for it.
I know we went over this scene but I couldn't let it go so easily. I just see somethng in the way Minchul acts, the way he laughs then hides his face. The way he follows HER into the ocean. He's a strong, tough, intense guy on the outside but on the inside there is a soft and frightened guy. I know that Jonsoo sees this. That's why she got off that bus when she saw him standing next to his car. He looked troubled.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello BD Family
There's a price for a three day weekend and today I'm paying that price. You come back to find a lot of crap on your desk that has to be done yesterday. As much as I'd rather do this, I actually have to do that.
Just wanted to mention Sunchun received an invitation to a reception at Muse Records to inaugurate the new president. Up till now the had a CEO, but now the owner was going to take over. Sunchun asks Min Chul to go in his place. Min Chul says he will. According to some kind of protocol, I guess, Muse has to seek Victory's president out first. Sending Min Chul is showing respect to the new president, without losing face.
Sunchun and his DLAss have a conversation about Mimi. He wants DLAss to find her and take care of her. I don't know exactly what that means. He knows she's seen Sun Jae and wants to put an end to it. The other guy tells him that's why he didn't want him to marry Sun Jae's mother, aside from the fact that she was his first love. SunChun explains that by keeping the boy close and allowing him to believe he's his father, the secret they share remains safe. DLAss says the reason he's so good to Sun Jae is out of guilt and Sunchun admits that that's part of it. He also says that if he hadn't kept him by his side and didn't marry his mother Sunchun would've looked into his father's death some day. He said its only human nature. Can anybody tell me what the hell this guy knows about human anything?? What a terrible man!!!
Yon Soo and Sena meet for coffee and another example of the horrible girl thinking if its not about her it should be. Sena is such a distastful character. She tells Yon Soo that she knows that she helped her getting into Victory Records and tells her that she's not going to give up. Yon Soo is thrilled knowing that Sena's not going to bolt because of pride. She's happy that Yon Soo is dating the director. She tells her not to lose him because they need him. This after Narae told her they spent the night together. We know nothing happened, but this little self-absorbed witch doesn't, so she thinks her sister should sell herself for her success. She also reminds Yon Soo to be clear with Sun Jae, again.
She never once asked if Yon Soo is happy with him. Never asked how did it come about. Never asked how she was handling Min Ji. Just make sure you do the right thing with him, so he continues to help me. She doesn't know what that would entail and doesn't care.
I have to go now. I have to pay my holiday dues.
I'll be back
Later
The stars relaxing on set. I just watched her in Mr Duke and they dressed her beautifully and her hair and makeup were exquisite. She's pretty to start with. That's a real smile from LBH. Nice, right??

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Anyeong Hasaeyo! Good morning BDF
I remember now why I dislike Sena so much She is so selfish and why Yonsoo could be so caring for her, I couldn't understand.
So Minchul will be attending the Muse party for Mimi. He doesn't know the history and connection of his father to this lady. I dreaded this episode and the forthcoming ones. Minchul will go to the darkside and so will Sunjae. Their rivalry will not only be because of Yonsoo but because of their career.
AT the beginning of episode 10, Minchul has made a decision on Sena's fate. She was passed over by Kumsuk and she was furious. Minchul's decision was based on performance and public feedback but Sena thinks that she should be selected because Minchul is using Yonsoo. This is truly despicable. Before this was revealed, Narae was so happy thinking that she might become Sena's manager. But she was disappointed when she learned that Sena was not selected.
Sena apparently called Sunjae and they went to get drunk that night, each one with cross to bear. Sena, for failing to become the star and Sunjae for being rejected by Yonsoo.
At home, Narae and Yonsoo were waiting for Sena. Minchul text Yonsoo to see him at the restaurant but before she could read it, Sunjae arrived, together with Sena, totally drunk. Yonsoo told Sunjae that she might not be able to go home and to apologize for her to his mother.
This is all I can post right now. This episode is really turning me off.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
I have to go back a few steps because I don't think we mentioned this. Jonsoo gets off the bus and Sunjae is waiting for her...again. Because Yonsoo and Minchul are now a couple she asks Sunjae to treat her as a friend as she sees him waiting for her.
Sunjae has a whole speech ready. He tells her he'll concede Minchul's feelings for her and that since his (Sunjae's) feelings for her are sincere, he knows her's for Minchul are sincere.
He says he and Minchul are not on the best of terms but they are still brothers and that it's unthinkable for brothers to fight over one woman. (this is a hint of what's to come.) He says maybe that's why Minchul took her away, to make him give her up.
Sunjae tells Yonsoo that he can't be sure of Minchul's feelings for her, that he's worried she might get hurt. He says he'll watch her from a distance because as she says, there's sides to Minchul he doesn't know.
I think Sunjae is way out of line here. I wish Minchul was listening to this. He's not her boyfriend but he's acting like Minchul has bad motives or something and he's going to sit back and wait for them to fail.
Sunjae tells Jonsoo that if it's her, Minchul might change. He's dissing Minchul with this whole conversation really, like there is something very bad about Minchul.
Like I said before, Minchul has never done this sort of thing to Sunjae behind his back, if Minchul ever has anything to say he says it right to his face, not behind his back like a little sneak.
Yonsoo thanks him and starts to walk away.
Sunjae's not done yet. He asks her if she can promise him one thing. "If you see your feelings were wrong, you'll let me know. Even if you believe it's too late, promise me you'll tell me."
Yonsoo doesn't even have to hesitate with her answer, "that won't happen" as she walks off.
Sena and Jun-hun? pay a visit to Myungja but no one else is home. As they're leaving who walks in but Yonsoo and Sunjae! Caught!! Sena looks shocked though she already knew that Yonsoo lived here, but she asks Yonsoo, "so this is where you're staying?" Yonsoo, always looking guilty about everything though she shouldn't, doesn't answer.
Sena the drama queen runs down the steps into the car with Jun-hun running after her to stop. Yonsoo is running after Sena as well. She hops in to the car, locks the door and tells him to step on it. Off they go leaving an upset Yonsoo in the dust.
At home Sena tells Narae the story I guess and Narae explains about Yonsoo living there, about how Yonsoo got her into Victory and caring for Minji. She says that Yonsoo told them all to keep quiet about it.
Narae tells Sena that Yonsoo made a sacrifice, she spent the night with Director Lee. I was surprised she told her this.
Anyway Narae tells Sena that SHE put Yonsoo in a predicament and yells at her "you're responsible!"
After that night, Sena and Yonsoo meet at a cafe and smoochie covered that.
In episode 10 Minchul comes back from meeting with Mimi. In his office he gets a CD with Mimi's info on it and slides it into the player. He reads all about her being a legend in her time, about her career being cut short due to marijuana possession and reads that she was Young-um's rising star.
The shocker for Minchul was seeing a newspaper picture of Mimi and a very pregnant Myungja at his funeral. He is realizing that she was already pregnant while she was still married to Young-um. He's thinking...
Good news! Narae makes manager and she is excited and runs into the store twirling Yonsoo round and round. Though she'll be on probation for a month she's thrilled. She says she might work with Sena, new recruits will work with new managers.
The bad news! Sena loses out to Kumsuk. Minchul has the both of them sitting at a large table with him. He breaks the news and he does not look happy about it. Is he thinking how this will impact on Yonsoo? That he couldn't go one step farther in his deal with Yonsoo?
Kumsuk is thrilled as she should be. Sena the brat gets all snotty to Minchul. He excuses them not looking at them. I think he feels really bad.
Sena throws a tantrum and tells him that he's using Yonsoo and making her (Sena) miserable. He says "you can go now."
Nara is told she will be Kumsuk's manager. Later we see she refuses the offer and tells Kumsuk to take a hike.
A bit later Minchul enters the store and walks up to Yonsoo. He stops, looks at her, touches her shoulder and walks away. Yonsoo is about to cry and he's feeling very bad.
Sunjae must have gotten a call from Sena, she's sitting dejected outside on the curb. He kneels down to her and just looks at her. They end up at the Han River, Sena very drunk. He brings her home and Yonsoo and Narae bring her inside.
Minchul is waiting for Yonsoo at the restaurant after he leaves her a message. He has no way of knowing that she's with a drunken Sena.
The table is set really nice, I think it's his way of trying to comfort Yonsoo. I wonder what he wants to say to her. He patiently waits for her and then not so patiently. He looks at his watch and gets up to leave.
Meanwhile, Yonsoo quickly hails a cab to keep her date with Minchul. She leaves a drunken Sena in Narae's care.
Would you believe that Sunjae is outside the apartment waiting and watching for Yonsoo if she leaves? Yup! He's like a fly on sandpaper. You can't get rid of him. He takes off on his bike following Yonsoo's taxi.
She's about to run inside the restaurant but Sunjae gets there first and is practically on top of the front door. She can't miss him. They talk.
As Minchul is about to climb the steps, he sees them together, close together, and Yonsoo is saying she's sorry to him.
Not like Sunjae who hides and eavesdrops, Minchul climbes the stairs to them. He asks her why she didn't come in and that as long as Sunjae is here, offers him a drink inside.
Once inside, they're eating and having a drink. I can't remember the whole conversation but do remember that in the mist of Sunjae talking, he calls Yonsoo by her name. Minchul doesn't like it one bit.
Minchul does not like this. He tells Sunjae to call her "older sister." Looking at Yonsoo, he says she would like that too. Now here is what I don't get. Yonsoo doesn't answer Minchul about this. She just looks down. But at the amusement park she was the one who told Sunjae to call her sister. So what's with her reaction here?
Sunjae doesn't say anything either. Minchul repeats it and then says to Sunjae "do it now" while staring at him.
Whoa...............I just love Minchul!!
At this moment of what looks like might be a stand-off between two brothers, Minchul's darn phone rings! Something came up, Muse Records got Victory's male singer. Minchul has to leave!
All Minchul could do is to tell Sunjae to take Yonsoo home. As he goes outside, he stops and looks at Sunjae's motorcycle. What was he thinking, that Yonsoo will ride on the back of that? Minchul doesn't know she already has ridden on the back of that a few times.
Still inside, the restaurant photographer unexpectly snaps a table photo of a surprised Yonsoo and Sunjae. Yonsoo immediately gets up to leave, with Sunjae running after her. They leave the photo with the photographer who adds it to the hanging bulletin board in the entrance. Yieks! Bad move...
You guys don't care for these episodes coming up but I do. The tension and seriousness between Minchul and Sunjae over a girl. Sunjae will get more and more bold with Yonsoo, well, that I won't like. Minchul will have more demons to deal with. But so will Sunjae.
I'm look forward to each episode, I love this drama too much.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Anyeong Hasaeyo! Good morning BDF
Jasy: Thank you so much for your summary. Everytime I watch these episodes, I fast-forward it when I see Sunjae and SEna. I only wanted to see the Minchul and Yonsoo moments which were very few and not in a lovey-dovey situation.
But that scene at the restaurant, I think Minchul wanted to meet Yonsoo to explain his decision of not selecting Sena. He didn't expect Sunjae to be tagging along. And why did Sunjae followed Yonsoo around? He said he is worried, for what? Maybe because selfish Sena is giving Yonsoo so much pain. When she learned that Yonsoo is living in Minchul's house, she was worried that she might get too close to Sunjae. That's why she pretended to visit the President's house with Oh Junhun to see for herself. She has to manipulate Oh Junhun to make him go with her. She is such a sly fox. And when she saw Yonsoo and Sunjae came in, she was furious but pretended to be gracious. Then she rushed out to the car and told Junhun to hurry up and go, leaving Yonsoo worried again.
When Narae explained to her why Yonsoo was living in that house, that it was because of her, was she ever grateful? No! But she's happy knowing that Yonsoo's target is Minchul and that leaves Sunjae free. So she doesn't care if Yonsoo sacrifice herself for her as long as she can have Sunjae to herself.
Going back to the restaurant scenario, when Minchul left Yonsoo and Sunjae, Yonsoo said that she clams up when Minchul is in a demanding mood like that and Sunjae replied that he does that to him too.
Later on at home, Yonsoo was in her bedroom when Minji came in and accosted her with Minchul's portrait that she drew. She belittled Yonsoo that she is not good enough for Minchul. Yonsoo said that if that's what she thinks of her, then there's nothing to discuss. Minji warned her not to go after Minchul and tore the portrait into pieces. When Minchul arrives, he saw Yonsoo crying silently in her room, putting back the pieces together. He picked up a piece, put it down to complete the whole picture, then hugged Yonsoo from the back. Yonsoo was crying hard now but I think it's because she was relieved that Minchul was back to his old self.
After this hugging scene, I turned off my TV.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello again
I really don't like anybody in this episode. Sun Jae has gone back to being a stalker. Sena's still a selfish little pig. Min Chul is a cold mean guy. Yon Soo is too easy.
Sun Jae tells her that he's going to concede and then does he?? No!! He's back to being all teary-eyed and stalking her. He was worried about her? Why? She's a grown woman in a taxi!! She's sad?? Can he make her happy?? NO!! He needs to back off!! When Min Chul saw them standing together it pissed him off. I think he feels like, what do I have to do for this guy to get it?? Can't say I blame him. It wouldn't be so bad if Sun jae didn't always look ready to weep. He's such a jerk. He runs around looking like a teenage girl with her first big crush. He should man up and move on.
Sena really gets to me. First of all, how dare she say to Min Chul that he's using Yon Soo, especially in front of the other girl. She's assuming that he owes her something, like its a barter system. "You use my sister and then you make me a star" She should be ashamed to even know about Min Chul and Yon Soo. Jasy, I was surprised too about Narae telling her about Yon Soo spending the night with him. I thought that was uncalled for.
Though I "get" Min Chul, I'm really not happy about the way he's treating Yon Soo these days. First of all Sun Jae is driving him nuts on all fronts and then every time he looks up he's hanging around Yon Soo. Still I don't like that he doesn't say what he expects from her. The one thing I remember from the first time I saw this was him saying to her, "Women all have the same trait. If a man is attracted to them, even if they're not interested in the man, they give them just enough to keep them around" I know that's not verbatim, but you get the idea. It was just after he saw Sun Jae hidden and watching Yon Soo at the store. He bumped into him to let him know he was caught as he went to tell Yon Soo to come to his office. Yet another time he removed her from Sun Jae's view. When he told her this, she asked, "What do you mean"? Come On!! What could he mean?? He told her if she didn't know, maybe it was better. He dismissed her very coldly and sent her on a menial errand. She didn't understand why. Nobody's that dumb.
Now to Yon Soo. Although I have a real problem with Min Chul's coldness and attitude toward her, she has to take a lot of the blame herself. How long does she think its appropriate for her to let Sun Jae follow her around? She sees Min Chul is livid when he sees this. He never loses his reserve, but she should be able to see that much. I know she doesn't see Sun Jae as a threat, but he is. And Jasy, you're right. Min Chul has a huge problem with Sun Jae and has not once bad-mouthed him. Not once. Yon Soo has problems in this relationship if that's what you could call it, but I think a lot of the blame is her own. She needs to toughen up. She's already said how she feels, she should reinforce it and tell Sun Jae to go away. It gets even worse.
Min Chul seeing the picture of Myungja at her husband's funeral was shocking to him. Mimi's going to get her pound of flesh from everybody concerned here.
Min Chul in telling Sun Jae he must call Yon Soo, Nuna, is proper and correct. He really didn't like hearing Sun Jae calling her by her name, plus he wanted to remind him of their relationship. She clammed up because Min Chul acted so over the top over it. But, if you watch that scene again and listen to the dialogue, you'll see Min Chul react the instant he hears it out of Sun Jae's mouth. This is the first time they've all been together at the same time, so its the first time he's heard Sun Jae call her that. Even if there was no issue between the brothers, its still inappropriate for him to call her by her first name. I believe Sun Jae would have had to call her Nuna, right then and there, if Min Chul's phone didn't ring just then. Min Chul was not going to let it go, it was clear. I think he wanted to make sure there were no misunderstanding about what each relationship was. Min Chul and Yon Soo dating, Sun Jae the kid brother. His calling her Nuna would've made that clear.
I have to go now, but I'll be back. I have so much to say about this episode, but I want to watch it again.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
I'm back, because there's one thing I forgot to point out. When Min Chul goes up the stairs and finds Yon Soo and Sun Jae, he asks him to join them, puts his arm over Yon Soo's shoulder and guides her down the stairs and once again, away from Sun Jae. Sun Jae looks like a dog who dropped a piece of meat into the river, to quote Chang Nara, from BB.
Watch it again, if you don't believe me. These two are supposed to be a couple, so why is this weenie always surprised by Min Chul's being so comfortable and secure with leading Yon Soo anywhere he wants to, and she following him willingly.
This drama is way above most in writing and storyline. The acting is above par too.
