K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
LOL smoochie! I don't think you're the meanest person in the world. I want Minchul and Yonsoo back together of course but I'd prefer Minchul doing under different circumstances. She still needs to be taught a lesson and see the error of her ways.
But at this point in the drama, that ain't gonna happen. So when Sunjae calls Minchul and tells him to come and get her...Minchul in a sense goes running after Sunjae decides for Minchul it's time to come get her. I don't like that.
Why did Minchul go? Is it because Sunjae said he wouldn't hold back? Or was it simply because he misses her and loves her too much to stay apart? Or is it that he doesn't want Sunjae to be beside her anymore?
Minchul knows Sunjae can't have her. But what made him decide to go to Yonsoo after Sunjae called? The writers make it look like it's because Sunjae said he'd go for it.

And another thing...why is it that Sunjae is always in their business to begin with? She's packing and he's standing in her doorway watching. He calls Minchul to come get her and he makes it his business to be in the middle of these two till the end.
If Yonsoo marries Minchul, will there be three in the marriage? You're right smoochie, he's still a kid, acts like a kid, never worked a day in his life, stalks Yonsoo, always is pouty but tries to pretend he's a big man around Yonsoo.
I'm totally fed up with him. What's any of it his business anyway? Minchul and Yonsoo were dating. He stuck his nosy nose in their business. He just doesn't go away. And now he's calling the shots here.
You're right when you say that he could never have Yonsoo. But with his phone call to Minchul, he talks like he could.
If he could, she'd be with him already. LOL He already tried but it's a no go. He'll just remain Minchul's little brother to Yonsoo. He needs a hobby.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello
I'm thinking we have two guys here and one runs, successfully, a major company and the other doesn't. One thing women like is powerful men. Not to say that, that's what turned Yon Soo on about Min Chul, but it is a perk.
Oh, emceema. To straighten out something, you said:
Isn't this too harsh? If Sunjae doesn't care about Minchul, he would have gone straight to Mimi and accepted her offer. He also went along with Minchul to end the Zero problem by acknowledging that Mr. Oh is Zero.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When he and Min Chul had the conversation about Zero, Sun Jae told him that his father owns the company before Min Chul and why would he want to hurt his father? He wasn't protecting Min Chul, he was protecting his father. That's about to end.
Just the facts, Ma'am.
I'll be much happier when Sun Jae is out of the picture, between Min Chul and that dumb bunny he's in love with. I started out watching this, thinking how cold and emotionally unavailable he is. I thought, can't he at least give her something to hold on to? When he tried, he got slapped down, so now I'm with him. No matter what he does from here on in, he's completely right!!
I need a life!! This can't be my life!! What's happening to me?? I'm angry with a woman in a Korean drama.
Gotta go.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD Family
I'm stuck on episode 12. Bear with me here and I promise, I'll stop. Just a few more comments, because I can't help myself.
It bugged me when Sun Jae asked Yon Soo if she's talked to Min Chul. Her silence said everything. He tells her Min Chul needs time!! What does he think will happen with time?? Will he get a memory lapse and forget the way she treated him? Whatever!!! Its none of his business, unless he's basking in the aftermath of being able to come between them. She tells him she's moving out. I'm sure he doesn't want to hear that. She tells him its not his fault. NO?? She doesn't want him to worry, he has enough on his plate. Isn't it nice how these two are so comforting to each other. Who's comforting Min Chul??
I love the scene where he went to Min Chul to tell him the news. He asks him if he's going to let Yon Soo leave. He's assuming that he knows, or is this his backdoor way of telling him?? Min Chul never even flinches. He continues doing what he's been doing. No response. No reaction. He then tells Sun Jae to make her stop. I love this. Here's the good part. Sun Jae says, "I wouldn't have come to you, if I could." So he knows he can't! He knows only Min Chul can. So why is he playing a game he can't win? Here he's admitted that he has no say over what she does or doesn't do, only Min Chul does. When things turn serious only Min Chul holds the reins.
I love what Min Chul answers him. He says, "This is all for the better. We're brothers, after all. Its no good two brothers fighting over one woman. The time is ripe to settle this matter. Since you're not one to do that, I'll have to." Sun Jae is upset and asks if its that easy for him. No response. No reaction. He says he's glad Min Chul holds the knife. He still hasn't moved. He tells Sun Jae to leave.
In essence Min Chul was telling his brother that because of his playing a game he can't possibly win, he's caused chaos, knowing how they feel about each other. He knows that Sun Jae won't stop interfering, so he's decided that by allowing her to leave, it will end this matter, for once and for all. I see that Min Chul HAS won and Sun Jae knows it. Min Chul just refuses to be part of this triangle anymore. He's left the ball in their court. He knows that Yon Soo won't accept Sun Jae, so he's comfortable in letting this go. Those two have to be like, "What do we do now?? He took his bat and went home!!".
When Sun Jae left, Min Chul picks up his phone. He's tempted to call her, but doesn't. She does call him and asks to see him. She has something to say. He tells her, its late, they'll talk tomorrow. He's not ready to have that conversation now.
When they met the next day, you see his reflection in the window. He stands looking at her for a minute, his eyes are very, very sad. Then he did a typical LBH thing. He gives his head a little shake, as though clearing it. It was almost imperceptable. If you've seen him in anything else you'd notice things that are particular to this actor. He's set his mind to something right here. She seems not to know how to begin, so he opens the conversation. He tells her he hears she's moving out. He says Sun Jae is very worried, which removes him from the matter. He's not worried, Sun Jae's worried. I love it. She looks up at him, a little hurt. She got it. She still doesn't speak. He asks if she has a place to stay. She tells him she'll stay with Narae. Poor Min Chul seems to be holding his breath the whole time. His expression never changes. He's very good at this. She must be freezing.
The closest she ever comes to an admission of wrongdoing on her part is to say, she's really concerned for him. He's told her he can't read people's hearts, nor trust them. But, she believes he's shown her his heart . She fears that he'll shut it again, because of her. She's worried about that. He looks down. He's uncomfortable hearing this. He doesn't answer or respond at all.
She says she'd better go. She wanted to say goodbye since she'll be gone before he gets home. He looks up at her. He looks like he wants to say something, but doesn't. She leaves and he just sits there. He finally breathes. He's very sad.
When Sun Jae calls him and tells him to come and get her, it was like if Min Chul went to get her, Sun Jae would step back. He'd know Min Chul has feelings for her. Why does he have to prove his love to this little worm?? I still say tell him to go for it!!!
One more thing for fans of the LBH walk. Watch him from the moment he gets out of his car at the cherry blossoms. Its a huge treat!! His commanding walk and great posture. LBH at his best.
A couple of more comments and I'll give this up. Sun Jae says he won't hold back if Min Chul doesn't show. Are we to believe he's been holding back?? That's what he calls holding back?? Or does he know it would do him no good.
The look on Min Chul's face as he approaches her, melts my heart. I have to give in, because I want him to be happy. She'd better appreciate him from now on, or all bets are off!!! I'll hate her forever.
Sun Jae is watching them from afar. Min Chul has his face buried in her neck and shoulder. He's holding her tightly and she's holding him too. For this kid to continue to try to get between these two would be totally wrong and unforgivable. He walks away. FINALLY!!!!!
The first time I saw this drama, I had a whole different perspective. I saw everything as Min Chul's fault. I still think that his inability to open up to her is a factor here, but without the obnoxious interference of his brother, things would've worked out in time. He would've opened his heart little by little. They went through a lot of stuff, where he wasn't to blame. I blame Yon Soo and of course Sun Jae, not so much Min Chul as much as I did before.
I'm having a good time with this. I'm done with 12 now. Move onward and upward.
I'll be back.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
After Yonsoo tells Sunjae she's moving out and Sunjae went to Minchul in his room, I really hated him here. He has some nerve to even show his face around Minchul. He reminded me of a parent going into the child's room to chew him out and make him change his ways. Who does this guy think he is? He has given himself this all important role to plant himself in the middle of Minchul and Yonsoo's relationship and bark orders. Sunjae is another one who never takes any blame for his part. He looks down on Minchul really. Sunjae is a troublemaker and a whiney little pest who needs to grow up.
Yonsoo and Minchul were dating up until the night Sunjae took Yonsoo's batteries out of her phone when Minchul called her. Where does this weasel come off getting away with this stuff? Sunjae was nervy enough to plant himself on Yonsoo's side against Minchul even when things were going good for them. He bad mouths him to Yonsoo more than once and shows his hatred of Minchul to Yonsoo in the things he says. He makes Yonsee his business whether she likes it or not.
I liked that Minchul showed no emotion about Yonsoo leaving the house in front of Sunjae. After Sunjae ruins everything for Minchul, he goes running to Minchul to stop her from leaving. It's laughable. He's a jerk and he needs to grow up fast and get a life.
How did things get this messed up when Minchul is the one who brought her home and he and Yonsoo fell in love? Who the heck is Sunjae to have any comment to make? He is just a sneaky busy body who hides secrets starting from his non feelings for Sena to his Zero music that he hid from everyone to sneaking around Yonsoo. And yet he can cast stones at Minchul? I'll never like him no matter what good he might do in the future if he is even capable.
I loved the scene where Minchul was driving his car and got out and started walking fast looking for Yonsoo. This is the man! Just look at him...Who in their right mind would refuse this?
When Minchul embraced Yonsoo in the park, did you notice the extra loud "beats" they put in their music? It was great!

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
Sunjae confronts Myungja about what Mimi told him about his birth, his father and Victory. He storms out and gets drunk at the Han. Mimi is watching him from her car. I don't know what she's doing there, following him I guess.
Sunjae ends up going to the composer's place (I can't remember his name.) He sleeps it off and when morning comes, Mimi comes over. She tells Sunjae she considers him the same as his dad, she'll do anything for him. Sunjae wants nothing from her. Mimi lets him know that his dad wanted him to pursue a music career, and that she was happy to find out he was Zero.
Sena comes in and Mimi leaves. Sena doesn't recognize her and asks Sunjae who she is. He tells her she's Muse's President. That's all it takes, Sena goes after her and stops her in the hallway. Sena asks if she remembers her, that she entered Muse's competition. Mimi remembers.
Sena tells her she quit Victory because she wants to enter Muse. Mimi wants to know how she knows Sunjae and Sena tells her he's her guy.
Yonsoo is standing outside staring at Sunjae's motorcycle. I have no clue if she's waiting for Sunjae or Minchul. I guess it's whoever comes first.
Minchul pulls up and Yonsoo goes to him. They begin walking to the house and they discuss Sunjae not coming home. Minchul says it's not like Sunjae to worry mom.
Minchul says he guesses Sunjae isn't ready to face her (Yonsoo.) Yonsoo tells him it's not because of her, she thinks something worse has happened.
Still outside, Minchul tells Yonsoo that he's lived 15 years with him but knows nothing about him. Yonsoo thinks they need some space to get to know each other. She wishes Minchul would extend a hand to him first because Sunjae's having such a rough time.
She just doesn't give up, does she? She truly is dense. This time around, Minchul must just be swallowing it when she brings up Sunjae's name. If she's so worried, maybe she should discuss it with Myungja.
Minchul puts his arm around Yonsoo and they go inside.
Minji is watching Myungja pack Sunjae's clothes into a suitcase. When she sees Minchul and Yonsoo, she pulls Minchul over to see. Minchul looks and tells Minji to go to her room. He enters Sunjae's room and closes the door.
Minchul wants to know what she's doing. Myungja tells him that Sunjae's never coming back. She's all teary eyed and upset. Myungja asks Minchul not to be mad at him, that Sunjae's had it hard.
Minchul says he doesn't understand, and asks why he won't come home. Myungja confesses to Minchul, telling him that Sunjae's father is Lee Young-jun, the man she was married to. She tells Minchul she's sorry she couldn't tell him when he asked, she just thought it proper for Sunjae to find out before him.
Minchul is shocked and asks "he's not my father's son?" She answers no. Minchul asks her to repeat it and asks "Sunjae's not my half brother?"
Myungja feels bad for him and Minji and tells him she's sorry. She says she was so grateful that Sunchun would raise Sunjae as his own but she shouldn't have done that. She says she was too greedy and now she's being punished for it. She cries.
Minchul leaves the room and Yonsoo is in the hall waiting for him. He quickly walks past her and tells her not to follow him. He goes outside and is about to get in his car when Sunchun and his croanie pull up.
Minchul walks over to his father and he is angry! He yells at the other guy to go home while staring at his father. Sunchun asks what this is all about.
Minchul - How could you? How could you possibly do this? (Minchul is yelling his words) This is unbelievable! This is just too cruel! You know how Minji and I have lived and was that all the lie? (Minchul is tearing up now) Each time I contemplated Sunjae, tears of blood were shed for my late mother. But that was all a lie! One word from you and we lived in hell. How could you? We are your blood, your children. You ruin your children's lives like this. (Tears are streaming down Minchul's face)
You are evil. You're insane.
Minchul gets in his car and takes off.
Mnchul driving really fast is remembering when he was little and crying the night he asked his dad if Sunjae was his son as Grandma said and Sunchun answering "yes, Sunjae's my son."
Now Minchul is in his office remembering an argument with Sunjae when he told him "How you treat your mother is your business, but don't meddle in my and Minji's affairs" and also when he told Sunjae he wished they were strangers.
Minchul looks at the pictures of him and Minji on his desk and thinks back to when he told Minji when she didn't want to go back home "to have us absent from his life will give him too much happiness although he's taken many happy days away from us already. I won't let that happen again."
It's 1:20 AM and Minji, painting, asks Yonsoo if she's waiting for Minchul. Minji tells Yonsoo that she thinks his girlfriend made him run out again. Yonsoo looks worried.
Minchul is sleeping in his office.
Morning arrives. His aide comes in and tells him Sena placed first in Muse's competition. In the store, Yonsoo and Narae are happy with the news. Narae tells Yonsoo that Sena will make her manager as soon as she's in with Muse.
Well, we know Sena sings like a sick puppy so after that little talk with Mimi and telling her Sunjae was her guy, I suppose this is why Mimi "let" her win. What do you think?
Minchul comes into the store, sees Yonsoo and gives her a wave to follow him. When she enters his office, Minchul is standing there with his arms folded and he looks like he didn't sleep all night. I thought he was going to be mad here but he isn't.
He congratulates Yonsoo about Sena. Yonsoo feels bad about it for him but Minchul tells her don't feel that way because he won't feel comfortable until it works out for Sena. Yonsoo asks him what happened last night, was it something about mother?
Minchul - I've got something to ask you. You say Sunjae's having a rough time. You know the reason? About Sunjae's father, you knew?
Yonsoo shakes her head yes. Minchul looks disgusted, he sighs.
Minchul - Why didn't you tell me?
Yonsoo - I promised not to. Sunjae told me he wanted to forget forever. I'm sorry.
Minchul - Don't be. If he calls, let me know.
Yonsoo - You want to meet him?
Minchul and Yonsoo just got back together and now this. I always believed in what goes around comes around. Pretty soon it will be Minchul's turn to make Yonsoo crazy but it will be for a much more serious reason than the actions of a love starved pest.
Though Sunjae is having it rough now, Minchul's life will take a downward slide into sadness and turmoil, and do you think regrets?
Sunjae is lying down somewhere and Yonsoo leaves a message for him that she's worried, to call her. Sunjae heads to Victory I guess it is and sees Yonsoo outside but doesn't go up to her.
Inside Victory, is that Team Manager with her hair dyed black? Yonsoo and Narae stay after work using some kind of excuse to team manager.
Narae opens a big box of balloons, they're going to celebrate Sena winning at Muse. Quite ironic I think, celebrate at Victory Records for Sena winning at Muse. Huh??
Outside, Sena and the composer run into Sunjae, she makes him come inside. Everyone is happy, they have cake and food. Yonsoo sees Sunjae and asks why he didn't come home. He doesn't answer.
Minchul is in his car driving and Yonsoo calls him to tell him that Sunjae is at the store. Minchul makes a U turn and heads for Victory...

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD Family
This is serious stuff now. Everyone is feeling badly for Sun Jae, me included, but my sympathy also goes to Min Chul and Min Ji. All three lives were tainted by this one lie. Sun Chun's children may have suffered more than Sun Jae, because when the truth comes out and at the end of the day, these are HIS children. If you don't protect your own, how are you fit to raise someone else's? What he did was reprehensible and Min Chul's right, evil.
Myungja isn't off the hook for me either. She shares the blame here and is another parent who should have thought of the destruction she was causing to a whole family, especially to her own child. Sun Jae grew up in that house like a ghost. His siblings never looked at him as anything, but proof of their father's infidelity to their mother. It was a sad existence for all members of that household.
Sun Jae's personality was formed there in that dysfunctional family. He was basically ignored by everyone, but his mother. I believe that's what made him so manipulative. He was never given the opportunity to be part of his siblings' lives. He was always on the outskirts of what was going on with them. He was never privy to anything to do with them personally. They treated him like a bug.
On the other hand Min Chul and Min Ji had their own view of him, as a symbol of why their lives were so screwed up. He's the reason for them being so set against his mother and even their own father. They can never forget that ten years before their mother's death their father was cheating on her, with Sun Jae's mother. We know now, this isn't so, but this is the truth these two kids grew up believing. I don't blame them. They never accept him as a brother.
All of the reactions are reasonable, seeing all involved were fooled for fifteen years. Sun Jae and Min Chul are both devastated by this. Min Chul is right when he says if they weren't lied to they could've been friends like any other guys. I know that Sun Jae suffered, but I believe they all suffered equally. The only difference that I can see is that Min Chul and Min Ji treated him as an adversary, but they're off the hook with me, because they had good reason and they were kids too. Its the adults in this who need to take the responsibility. Min Chul is also right when he says that no matter what, nothing will recoup that time.
The fact that Yon Soo keeps beating Min Chul over the head with Sun Jae, leaves me speechless. Right now this is a good thing, because if I could speak, It would be very, very bad. Min Chul has sort of stopped reacting the way he once would have. I have to believe they had a conversation where all of this was resolved. Sorry we didn't see it. Another thing I'd have liked to have seen, is what happened the night of the cherry blossoms. That must have been quite a night.
I have to go, but I'll be back.
Later
This is the moment that started this whole mess.

When Sunchun told that lie to Minchul all those years ago, there were two adults in that house. Him and Myungja. Myungja let Sunchun set the rule about pretending to be Sunjae's father. Myungja opposed faintly and let it go. I know this. She is as much to blame as him, she's Sunjae's mother.
But though I know all that, I still feel sorry for her. She is so needy and sad in that house and pathetic, I just feel for her. Though she has kept that lie to the three kids, she is a meek gentle soul around Sunchun. She was wrong I know but she's such a lonely figure all day long in that house that I feel her pain. But that doesn't excuse her for what she's done.
It's an awful thing what was done to Minchul because he gives a glimpse what that lie did to him. Everytime as a child, when he looked at Sunjae, all he could think about was the wrong done to his mother. He could never forget it and it shaped his life and explains his dislike of Sunjae. Whenever he looked at Sunjae it made Minchul shed tears for his mother, this is what he yelled at to his father. It's hard to forgive something like that.
