K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning,
I love that scene of them sitting in the park. They finally look happy and content with each other though Minchul is carrying a heavy burden now because of Sunjae.
Minji's in art class watching an artist paint. Minchul and Yonsoo pay a visit, they stay outside the classroom watching Minji. Minchul has a satisfied smile on his face and Yonsoo is smiling looking at Minchul. After class they wait for her and Minji is happy to see them.
Minji wants to go on a picnic, it's such a beautiful day.
After Yonsoo's call to Sunjae about his mother's birthday, Sunjae goes to see her. What?? No flowers??? He sits down to eat dinner with her but before she even gets a spoonful in her mouth, he tells her he doesn't think he'd be a good son to her. Some day he'd "irk" her and they'd grow apart like that so he tells her to forget him. (Make any sense to you?)
Myungja tells him she packed his bags for him and not to worry about her, she won't blame him if he doesn't come see her. She begins to cry as she tries to eat. Sunjae is eating but he looks upset too. So geez, why does he have to do this then?? Makes no sense to me.
After the "Happy Birthday dinner" Sunjae is on the balcony and reads a message Yonsoo sent him asking if he's with his mother now and that he should MAKE HER SMILE. Yea, all I could think of is if Sunjae ain't smiling, nobody's smiling.
I still cannot get over how Sunjae ends his relationship with his own mother. He can't and won't forgive her I guess. It's ironic that with all the lousy things he himself has done or acted out in front of Yonsoo, Yonsoo can let it pass and offer HIM kindness and an ear.
For Sunjae's own mother, he won't even keep the door open a bit. He tells Minchul to take care of her in that house. Sunjae is not a nice person.
Minchul, Yonsoo and Minji riding bikes in the park. Minji paints while Yonsoo and Minchul sit and talk. Minchul tells her he doesn't take Minji out often and he feels he's not a good brother. He says that Minji wanted to move from the house but he thought it meant losing to father if they moved out and he was being stubborn. He feels that he takes after the worst part of his father.
From now on Minchul will think of Minji first no matter what his father does or says. As long as it doesn't affect Minji he'll ignore it.
Listening to Minchul's words here, he is acting very much like a father to Minji. It's striking to me to listen to his conversation. He's about 6 years older than her? Minchul has taken responsibility for his sister early on and I applaud him for that. She was heading in the wrong direction and with Yonsoo's help, they both have turned her around. Minchul is really a good and responsible person.
Next they all go to the karaoke bar and smoochie captured it in pictures! It's scenes like this that make this drama so special and exciting. I love this scene with the newly shy Minchul. I don't know how many times I watched this but I enjoy every second of it.
Sunjae leaves the house and his mother for good with his bags. Inside his bag he has taken the drawing that Yonsoo made all those years ago and gave to him.
Seriously speaking, I think this guy needs some help. Why does he hold a kid's drawing so special to his heart when the kid who drew it is in love with another man? Sunjae and Yonsoo can never be. It's down right scary in a way. He can't let go of that moment in the past. So what if he knows now that he and Minchul aren't even half brothers? Yonsoo does share Sunjae's feelings. Doesn't that mean anything?
Sunjae just seats himself on his motorcycle when a taxi pulls up and Yonsoo gets out. He unseats himself and is about to walk over to her when he sees Minchul get out of the taxi. Sunjae saddles up and takes off.
Watching Sunjae in that quick scene makes me sick. He just doesn't get it. He's such a miserable person who doesn't know when to stop and I can't stand it.
Sunjae just made his mother miserable inside that house but seconds later he is ready and able to run to Yonsoo the moment he sets his eyes on her. He sure wants what he wants, doesn't he? He hurts his mother, he hurts Sena, he's wiped Sunchun and Minchul out of his life by all of his own direction and doing but he'll cling to Yonsoo anyway despite what has gone down already. He's like a stuck record.
Sunjae at the studio apartment or wherever that is he goes and he's practicing a song on the piano. Sena comes in and likes it so much she wants to sing it. Sunjae tells her it wasn't written for her.
He looks at Yonsoo's drawing which he has with him and that picture is where he gets the idea to write a song with the title "Heaven" for Sena.
Later both Sunjae and Sena are walking outside and she slips her arm through his telling him this is the happiest day of her life.
Sunjae quickly tries to end that little declaration of love on Sena's part when he tells her not to get attached to him, that he worries being nice to her will hurt her in the end. Sena won't give up though telling him he'll love her one day.
Minchul is watching Kumsuk practice a dance number. Sena is practicing her singing with a pail over her head so she can hear her mistakes.
Did the composer quit Victory?
Minchul is looking through photos of outfits for Kumsuk but nothing catches his eye. He tells the wardrobe lady to come up with something off the wall that matches Kumsuk's image.
Minchul's aide comes to Minchul to report his findings on Mr. Jang. Last month Victory participated in a fund raising event and Jang took money for the talent. He tells Minchul that Jang is deep in debt from gambling.
Minchul tells his aide not to report this to his father, he'll take care of it once and for all.
Mr. Jang is with the President in his office. He's begging him to save him saying that the goons are going to turn him into a vegetable if he doesn't pay them. Sunchun is furious and tells him to take care of it himself, he has enough problems with Sunjae.
Jang leaves the office just as Minchul is coming to pay a visit to his father. He sees Jang and stops, leaning against the wall, hands in pockets looking straight ahead. Jang walks slowly past him and Minchul doesn't say a word to him.
Jang goes to a bar and Mimi comes up to him. They remember each other from years past. She buys him a drink. Sunchun and Sunjae are mentioned. Jang asks how she came into so much money and she tells him she married wealthy and her husband died leaving her millions.
Jang asks if she's single and he tells her he's single too. Mimi tells him they could be "friends." And doesn't she rub his leg??
Jang is dangerous now. He's so desperate for money he's liable to do anything. Mimi knows Jang pretty good from before and if he was anything then like he is now, she already has him all figured out. Maybe she'll use him too.
I feel bad for Minchul in the upcoming scenes. Sunjae wants revenge, there's no other way to put it. Sunjae falls into Mimi's very generous trap but then he just takes it from there up another notch. He's a very spiteful person.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Just because I think he's always worth looking at!!
Good Morning BD Family
Another crappy day here in NYC. But, its Saturday and a great excuse to stay in and, you know the rest. Watch Kdrama!!!
I'm with you Jasy. Over the top reaction by Sun Jae. I could get it if he didn't want to see his mother for a while, until all of the new information he's just gotten, sinks in, but to cut all ties?? Maybe he needs some time to get over her lying to him. It was a big deal, of course, but he lived a decent enough life, aside from not being accepted by his siblings. He, for all practical purposes, had two parents and a lot of things the other two didn't get. One being approval from both parents. I don't know. I think its a little severe, too.
That birthday dinner was anything but "happy". I see him as a selfish little worm. Oh and by the way, my kids "irk" me all of the time, just last evening they "irked" me, but I still expect to see them again and hopefully, next time they won't. What the hell does that mean?? He's very mean and cold right here. We know the truth of what happened, but he doesn't and neither, by the way, does Myungja. I have little sympathy for her in the way Min Chul and Min Ji treated her, but Sun Jae is a lot different. She's always doted on him and treated him so lovingly. I do feel for her here. I still think she sold her soul to the devil, but she was a good mother to him. I think the people she should apologize to are Min Chul and Min Ji. She basically screwed up their lives, along with their evil and uncaring father.
I know Yon Soo wouldn't see this as okay. She's always so willing to forgive. She wasn't privy to this little scene between mother and son, but I think she'd have been horrified to hear him tell his mother he's never going to see her again and for her to forget all about him. Like that's an easy thing to do, forget your kid. Maybe if Yon Soo had witnessed the birthday celebration, she'd have gained some insight into Sun Jae's selfish and uncaring personality. Maybe she'd regret forsaking her plans with Min Chul for this little creep. I find it interesting how Min Chul is perceived as cold, when the real cold one is Sun Jae. At least Min Chul's coldness toward his "family" is based on facts. This guy doesn't even have all of the facts.
The scene where he's leaving on his bike and sees the cab pull up really gets to me. This guy doesn't miss a chance to accost Yon Soo. This guy really never acts honorably. If she'd been alone, he'd have stayed to get some comfort from her. Comfort that I don't think he deserves. I know the life he'd always known has fallen apart, but according to what he knows right now, all it is, is that his father isn't his father. I get that that's a big deal, but he could also see it as somebody wanted him enough to raise him as his own. Once he got used to the idea, what's so bad about that?? We know why Sunchun did that, but he doesn't. The main reason, which we also forget, is that Myungja is his first love. We know the other reason, but he doesn't. I still see this as a disconnect in the writing. Sun Jae's reaction is just too harsh and merciless, especially when it comes to his own mother. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I still think the information he has is not enough for this change in loyalties. We get to see how far he's willing to go soon. I'm going to hate him more than I do now.
Somebody needs to clue him in. His enemy's enemy, is not his friend. Mimi's dragging this dope along, but her prime motive is to bring Victory and Sunchun down. I get her reason, because I know the history, but why would Sun Jae want to do that? He's definitely being used by her. Min Chul tried to warn him, but Sun Jae denied it, though he's just seen it with his own eyes. She basically destroyed his friend by announcing in front of the media that he's not Zero, but Sun Jae is. When Sun Jae tells her that his friend was hurt by that, she tells him not to worry, she'll take care of him. Mimi's laughing out loud about the look on Min Chul's face. Doesn't this give Sun Jae a clue that he's being used by her?? What's wrong with this idiot?? What doesn't he get? And why would he want to be part of ruining Sunchun, a man who's been nothing but good to him?? In saying this, WE have to remember what he knows at this moment and its not much.
He's finally comes clean with Sena and tells her that he's just a friend and he doesn't want her to get the wrong idea. It may be the first time he's been honest with her. Too little, too late. Sena's mind is made up. She's like him, she's going to hang on to the idea of his being her boyfriend, the same way he hangs on to his dream of Yon Soo. So he and Sena are two of a kind. Both hanging on to something that's never going to happen. Yon Soo has already told him, she's in love with Min Chul and that hasn't stopped him from pursuing her in his creepy underhanded way. Sena knows that he has feelings for Yon Soo, but that doesn't stop her from pursuing him either. Like I said, two of a kind. They definitely deserve each other. Both of them are in denial.
So now Mimi's going to use Jang for her purposes. He could bring the whole house of cards tumbling down. He's like a loose wheel and really needs a keeper. Sunchun is sleeping here. He knows this moron's a weakling, he should have kept a closer eye on him.
Its all going to hit the fan soon. I'm going to be very sad for Min Chul, more than anybody else. He's being betrayed by Sun Jae and its for nothing, as far as he can see. Its going to get very ugly. Sun Jae is being spiteful and a traitor to the only family he's ever known and he's not even sure yet, if he's right or wrong. He's just following along with Mimi, who has her own agenda.
The scene at the karaoke bar was very special. Min Chul suddenly turned shy. He really is a sexy guy, isn't he. His shyness was a big turn on, right? Who'd have guessed he'd have behaved that way? So charming and cute!! Lucky Yon Soo!!! If she could stop for one minute, worrying about Sun Jae and focus on this guy, think of all the benefits of being looked at that way. The way Min Chul looks at her. Its really precious, especially coming from him. He's finally opened his heart to her and is ready to let her in. Its win/win for both of them.
There's a lot more to this episode and I'll come back to talk more, or someone else jump in, anytime.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZN9Jde0rXQ
Hello BD Family
I've gone and watched episode 14, again. I needed to watch it again, though its a little frustrating to watch. More of the same hostility coming at Min Chul from just about everywhere.
He goes to watch Sena perform aboard the ship. He comes face to face with her and graciously wishes her well. He tells her to make him regret losing her. Was she gracious in return? No! She says regret it, he will! When Min Chul, still trying to be nice, said she must have confidence in Sena, Mimi had to throw a dig in about her having confidence in Sun Jae.
Yon Soo is standing apart from the crowd with Sun Jae. She tells him there's a halo around Sena thanks to him. He says Sena's the one giving him light. She gave him a goal and reason to live. So nice for him. Does this mean he's ready to stop stalking Yon Soo? His other reason for living?
Min Chul looks over and sees them together and you can see something change in his eyes. Its almost imperceptible, but its there. He walks toward them still smiling. Yon Soo is glad to see him there. He tells her that he wouldn't miss it. Its Sena's new birth. He looks toward Sun Jae and says, "Good work". Sun Jae, his usual negative self, tells him its too early for that. They haven't cut a record yet. Min Chul is still trying to be cordial and tells Sun Jae that thanks to him, they got busy on their record. Sun Jae walked away from him midsentence and said, "Enjoy". Such an ass!!
Min Chul is left with this look on his face, that I can't describe. Like, what the hell!! Or, What's his problem?? I don't know what it was, but you get the picture. Sun Jae was really, really rude. Min Chul says to Yon Soo that, before it bothered him that Sun Jae was too soft, but him trying to be tough, makes him even sadder.
I've been paying attention to Sun Jae's expression whenever he got caught, by Min Chul in a huddle with Yon Soo. Resentment!! He always looked like Min Chul was the unwanted party. He resented him breaking up all of his fun. He always looked like Yon Soo was his girl and Min Chul was the one out of line, interfering with their time together. What nerve!! Now that Mimi's bought him a spine, he's become very bold and overtly rude.
Can somebody tell me, who the hell is Sena's stylist?? Who's idea was that red, rubber dress and that ludicrous hairstyle? Had to be the same magician who dreams up Mimi's outlandish costumes. So grotesque!!
I like how Min Chul is now openly affectionate with Yon Soo. No secret anymore that they're together, at least not in their immediate circle. As they were standing together watching Sena perform, he put his hand over her's, on the railing and squeezed it. I think Min Chul took a happy pill that night, because with everyone sniping at him he kept his cool really well and was very mannerly. He'd have gotten angry at seeing Sun Jae with Yon Soo in the past, but he was able to control that on this night. I think he's also more in tune with his own feelings and besides that, knows Yon Soo loves him.
I feel very sorry for him that night. it made me think of "The father's sins...". These people are out to get Sunchun and Min Chul is going to go down with him, when he was a victim too. So sad.
I'm going to leave something for someone else to say. I'll be back.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
That's a great clip on Youtube smoochie, so emotionally packed and it reminds me that Minchul and Yonsoo have more sadness coming their way and this will be the greatest test of all.
I tried to figure Sunjae out and where his head is right now and all I can come up with is he simply wants to get even with Sunchun AND Minchul for all those years that he feels he was wronged. His mother is included but he already dealt with her, walking out of her life for good is her punishment.
He turned into a selfish, unfeeling creep who will unemotionally step on those who at one time were his family in his way to the top now. Competing against them is as important to him as just doing his music is. Sunjae is now emotionally cut off from Sunchun and Minchul and spiteful.
Minchul grew up in the same misery but he doesn't display an ounce of the hatred that Sunjae is spewing. It's so ironic because Minchul is described as the cold, emotionless one throughout this part of the story.
When Minchul walks over to Sunjae and Yonsoo on the ship to congratulate him, I saw such a stark difference in the two men. Minchul shows his professional side and honest happiness for Sena with Sunjae's lead.
Sunjae on the other hand is unprofessional in that he combines business with personal. He doesn't want Minchul to get any satisfaction out of Sena's rise, remember when he told Minchul he would do something for Sena that he couldn't do? For Sunjae, there will be no shared gladness with Minchul over Sena. This is true. Sunjae now has a condescending attitude over Minchul, remember when he tells Minchul to "enjoy" and then simply walks off?
Well about Sena's dress and hairdo. LOL She sings with one eye showing and with this fake thing on her head and she looks weird. Like I always say, if you can't do something that is expected of you or in this case "sing," do something else to make yourself stand out.
Unfortunately, I can't tell if she's a good singer here or not since she sings in Korean. The little that I can understand, some of her notes sounded off key to me when she practiced. But now, is she good when she sings on the ship? I have no clue.
Emceema?
Sunjae announces to all the press attending that he's Zero after Mimi lets the cat out of the bag. At first, I thought it was a surprise to Sunjae with her doing that. But I don't think it was, I think it was in his plan too, along with Mimi.
Sunjae took great delight in confessing he was Zero with Minchul standing there. Mimi with her own agenda puts Minchul into the spotlight by talking directly to him over the crowd about Zero. She takes great delight in this as all eyes go to Minchul. Minchul is stunned and is slilent for a few seconds probably not quite believing what he's hearing. He then tells Sunjae to answer if he is Zero or not. Sunjae has no qualms about answering. He announces he is Zero and it's made all the more satisfying for him because he puts Minchul in the hot seat. One up for Sunjae.
I wish Yonsoo would get the meaness in Sunjae's action and call him on it. Sure, all Sunjae wanted to do was his music. He could have done it at Victory now. He chose the competitor. He wants to compete now. It's what he does with Yonsoo against Minchul. I still can't get over the fact how he's chummy with Yonsoo still. And I'll say it again, Yonsoo is really wrong with her too close for comfort friendship with him.
I agree that Minchul seems very happy and satisfied with where his relationship with Yonsoo is right now. I don't think he is as much worried now when he sees Yonsoo talking with Sunjae but probably still doesn't like it because he knows Sunjae's feelings. I think he trusts Yonsoo now though.
I have to rewatch the ending of this episode again. This drama is interesting because first we have the story about Victory and the personal lives of all the players. This alone makes for a dramatic storyline and it alone could have taken us to the end of this drama and kept us on the edge of our seats.
The writers never became lazy on this drama. We'll have a new storyline coming up shortly that will be even more riveting involving Yonsoo. This is really a top notch drama.
I'll be back...

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello BD Family
I kind of understand Sun Jae's anger, but I think its misdirected when it comes to Min Chul. I get that he remembers him treating him as non-exsistant, but I also remember his telling his mother how he doesn't blame them for their feelings toward, and treatment of her. So he understands that Min Chul was a victim too, in all of this. His rudeness really gets to me.
I think that Min Chul's attitude is to let bygones be bygones and has already placed the blame where it belongs, not on Sun Jae, but on the real culprit, Sunchun. He doesn't even blame Myungja much. I think he sees her as being weak. He was even talked into buying flowers for her birthday. I don't think he expects him and Sun Jae to become buddies, but he expects them to at least be civil. Sun Jae doesn't want to be civil. He's going for Min Chul's jugular.
I think Min Chul still thinks of Sun Jae as family, regardless of what they just found out. He lived with this kid for fifteen years and old habits are hard to break. To me its apparent in the way that he still tries to set him straight on what's going on. I think too, that he's surprised that Sun Jae no longer sees him as family. It certainly took him no time at all to erase Min Chul from his life as his brother and see him, instead as the enemy. I guess this is shocking to Min Chul. After all, how long has it been since the truth came out? Anybody? A very short time, right? Sun Jae's been very busy in that short time.
Part of this, a major part, has to do with Yon Soo. Min Chul's going to pay for her being in love with him. I have to repeat how obnoxious I think it is to see resentment on Sun Jae's face, when Min Chul shows up anywhere with Yon Soo. He should be embarrassed to be so obvious about his animosity and jealousy. It wasn't even a choice, she always loved Min Chul. It was never either, or. He didn't lose to Min Chul. He was never in the running.
On Yon Soo, I think its time for her to cut ties with Sun Jae. She sees what he's doing to Min Chul and she can't continue to blame it on something else. She's so willing to make excuses for his bad and vicious treatment of Min Chul. She needs to stop and rethink what she sees going on here. She needs to have her boyfriend's back. Anything else would be unforgivable, in my opinion. She needs to tell Sun Jae to take a hike. After all that she's seen and heard, she still tries to get Min Chul to see Sun Jae's side. So inappropriate!! Dumb Bunny!!
I'm loving this drama too and find it really well written and, of course the acting is great. Can't beat that combination.
Gotta go.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
As soon as Sunjae says he's Zero, all the reporters run up to Minchul who's standing next to Yonsoo. Sunjae is watching this with a satisfied look on his face. Minchul is still staring at Sunjae.
Sunjae walks off with Mimi and gets into her car while Minchul, who is parked next to them gets into his. Mimi looks at Minchul with a smug smile on her face, she's loving every minute of this. Once inside his car, Minchul stares at Sunjae until Mimi drives off leaving all the reporters surrounding Minchul's car.
While driving Sunjae asks Mimi what she's doing and shouldn't she have consulted with him first? Did Sunjae not know she was going to announce this? Mimi says it's something that needed clarification and she's glad that Sunjae took a stand. She tells him that his ties with Victory are severed. She laughs that Minchul's face was "some sight."
Sunjae's concern is with Junghun, he knows he's in trouble now. Mimi tells him she'll take care of him asking Sunjae if it wouldn't be nice working with him? She tells him to concentrate on defeating Victory. Sunjae doesn't answer her.
Minchul is waiting for Sunjae but Sunjae walks right past him. Minchul asks if he's ignoring him now and Sunjae tells him not to come around anymore, he doesn't have anything more to say to him.
If this is the case, Sunjae should stay away from Yonsoo now too, she's Minchul's woman and wherever Yonsoo is, Minchul is. Minchul says that he told him Mimi would only use him to get at Victory. Minchul is furious at this point. Sunjae says he won't let anyone use him, he wanted to announce he was Zero and that it's time he got back his identity, "isn't it?"
About his identity, why is he taking that out on Minchul now? That issue has only to do with Sunchun. I remember when Minchul and Sunjae was having a one on one and Sunjae's music was brought up, Minchul told him something like oh yes, "you wouldn't do anything against father." I remember hearing those words and thinking that Minchul actually didn't like how Sunjae would never go against their father's orders. So regarding Sunjae's non music days, he chose to follow Sunjae's orders even though he already was an adult. Sure, he was going to college, but he could have gotten a job and moved out if things were so unlivable in that house. He had no backbone then and now he follows Mimi's lead. How is that Minchul's fault?
Minchul asked him if that announcement was his thought and Sunjae gives him a look that says yes. Minchul tells him he changed a lot and Sunjae says he could change even more for his own sake. If looks could kill, Minchul would have dropped dead.
Minchul comes home and heads into his room but Yonsoo who was waiting for him quickly goes up to him and wants to know what happened with him and SUNJAE. Minchul closes his eyes tightly for a second...then he pulls her into his room.
She's against the wall and Minchul is in front of her.
Minchul - Well...today...Sunjae and you...
Yonsoo - Talk to Sunjae. He must have a reason to...
Minchul - yells, "don't" (she's making him crazy) Don't bring his name up ever again! I won't reach out to him, not ever!
Minchul is looking into Yonsoo's eyes and then he sighs.
Minchul - I'm sorry. I can't hope for Sena's success now. I have to fight Sunjae. And he is working for Sena now. She's also now on my enemies list.
Yonsoo looks down and Minchul looks very distraught as he sees her reaction to what he just said. He turns his face from her and covers his eyes with his hand for a bit. Then he holds her face in his hands and he's just looking at her. She looks up at him and he's looking down.
Minchul - I want to be a good person to you but it's so difficult.
He embraces her in his arms.
Sunchun comes home and asks if Minchul is home yet. As he's going up the stairs he tells Myungja that Sunjae's out to ruin Victory. Sunchun walks right into Minchul's room, no knock, and sees them in an embrace. He turns the light on.
Sunchun - What's going on here?
Minchul tells Yonsoo to go to her room.
Sunchun - I asked you what's going on here?
Minchul - It's none of your business.
Sunchun - Sunjae's out to ruin Victory and here you are wasting time with the likes of her?
Minchul - Likes of her? Watch what you say.
Sunchun - What? Is it serious with her? (He pats Minchul's arm, then gives him a little shove) Get a grip. Do you think she's a suitable match for you?
Minchul - That's not for you to decide.
Yonsoo is in the hallway listening to all of this.
Sunchun - I really don't want to get involved in your love life but you have to watch out for girls like that. All she has is her body. If you make a mistake...
Minchul slams his hand on a cabinet? "Don't say another word about her. Please leave."
Sunchun - I know that guys like you fall hard for girls. But remember, women are like trains. The destination changes with the woman taken.
Sunchun leaves the room and sees Yonsoo standing in the hall. He stops and gives her a long ugly stare and utters a "Hmm!" and walks off.
Minchul comes out of his room and sees Yonsoo standing in the hallway realizing she never went into her room at all and that she heard everything. He walks to her but she walks into her room and closes the door.
Their music plays. They are both on either side of the door. Minchul with his hands in his pockets leans on her door.
Minchul - I wish I could show you off to my mom. My mom, a woman of lots of laughter and tears. I wonder if she's crying or smiling looking at you.
Yonsoo leaning againt the door is listening with tears in her eyes.
Minchul - I think she'd be crying. Holding your hands, she'd cry a little saying thank you for caring for her foolish son.
I feel sorry for Minchul. He gets everything thrown at him and he didn't do anything to deserve this. He tries to live his life and there are problems every which way he turns. I wish Yonsoo would focus solely on him and stop concerning herself with Sunjae. If there's anyone needing her support it's Minchul.
I love the words he just said to Yonsoo, he's speaking from his heart and he's showing how much he misses and loves his mom. From the ulgy scenes he just went through with Mimi, Sunjae and Sunchun, he thinks of his mom.
He needs Yonsoo's arms around him just about now.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello BD Family
Thanks for the recaps Jasy. This is getting scary now, right? The scene where Sun Jae was in the car with Mimi and she was so happy at the sight of Min Chul's face, made me feel so sorry for Min Chul. Imagine after all of those years, you don't feel a little something about hurting someone, who up until a short time ago was family. This kid is turning into a very weird guy. He's going after Min Chul with guns blazing and poor Min Chul is wondering what he did to deserve it. He always looks disbelieving.
I loved the words that Min Chul said to Yon Soo, too. I thought it was very touching. There was a time that no matter how offended he was by his father's insulting words, he'd have brushed them off. He really didn't care about his father's opinion and would have just ignored him, but here he made himself clear. He didn't clam up and walk away, which is his usual style.
After putting his father straight, he made it his business to try to soothe Yon Soo. His words were beautiful and heartfelt. He knew how hurt and embarrassed she was and tried to make it go away. Mentioning his mother made it even more important. His mother thanking her for caring for her foolish son, was the thing that brought me to my knees. How he must miss her!!
When is Yon Soo going to know how inappropriate it is for her to mention Sun Jae to him. She's witnessing what horrible things Sun Jae's doing to him and yet she's got an excuse for him. She may be right about what's behind his anger and hatred, but this is her man he's going after. Min Chul is as much a victim as he is. Why is he acting like such a jerk to Min Chul? Min Chul was a kid too when all of the stuff he's angry about happened. He had no hand in any of it. Why can't Yon Soo get how hurt and betrayed Min Chul feels instead of trying to make excuses for that jerk. What she should do is cut him off and tell him why he's being cut off. At this point she needs to have Min Chul's back.
I still think a lot of his anger has to do with Yon Soo. He didn't like that, no matter how he tried to bad mouth him, she still prefered Min Chul over him. Min Chul, no matter how crazy she made him with her hanging out with Sun Jae, still looked very confident about her, at least as far as Sun Jae could tell. Min Chul always kept his own counsel, and acted non-commital, where Yon Soo was concerned, until the night of the cherry blossoms. Sun Jae was running around professing his love and Min Chul without trying very hard, got the girl. That had to piss him off. He felt Min Chul didn't deserve her. What made him think he did, eludes me. I don't think he ever comes to terms with the fact that they're in love and a couple. It always sticks in his throat.
I'm at work. I have to go, but You know I'll be back.
Later

I just love this picture of him!! He's very, very hot!!

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
I agree with you smoochie that a lot of Sunjae's anger towards Minchul is because of Yonsoo. For whatever jealous reasons he has, he doesn't think Minchul deserves her. He equates Minchul's coldness all those years with him, to acting the same way towards Yonsoo. Who appointed him judge and jury anyway? Remember the insults he said about Minchul to Yonsoo when she told Sunjae she loved Minchul and he added "anybody but him."
Sunjae could never beat Minchul in anything being the younger brother, he couldn't play his music but Minchul is the director of their father's music company. The only thing Sunjae can fight Minchul on is a girl. It never mattered to him that Yonsoo and Minchul are a couple. With his cozy relationship with her he tries to break them up. When his ugly insults about Minchul didn't work he just continued to see her any chance he got and he didn't care if Minchul found out or not.
Though he didn't seek Mimi out, he has someone on his side now and it feels good. Those dirty looks he gives Minchul make him look so childish and young. I laughed at one point when he did that thinking how in the world could he expect Yonsoo to fall for him? That's how kid like he looks to me when he acts like this. Actions speak clearer than words they say.
Yonsoo is just too nice. She needs to realize her priority. You can only have one man at a time. You can have men friends but you can't have a guy as your friend if he wants you in a romantic way, not when you already have a boyfriend. I don't get her thinking.
Like I said before, if Sunjae doesn't want to see Minchul anymore, he needs to stay away from Yonsoo then too. What business is she of his anyway especially now after his little confession. Yonsoo can see that Sunjae was a person with secrets too after he announces he's Zero. The way he did it, in public with the director of Victory there, didn't Yonsoo see the nasty side of him here? She's dense.
Minchul has to get his singer Kumsuk out there now. She ends up on the side of a bus with a poster as big as life. LOL Sena sees this and doesn't like it one bit. I wonder if the actress "Kumsuk" is a singer in real life? She at least is more pleasing to the eye than Sena.
Emceema, where are you??

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning,
Sena and Mimi are getting their nails done and Mimi has given Sena a complete makeover including a new dress and fake eyelashes. Standing outside, Sunjae comes over thinking Mimi called him about an important matter. It was just Mimi's trick to get Sunjae and Sena together.
She hands Sunjae tickets telling him once Sena starts working, she won't have any free time. So off they go to the aquarium. I really like this place, I've seen it in another drama too. The one section you walk into a tunnel like place and water is all around you, on the sides and above you. The fish are swimming all through it. Pretty cool.
Sunchun calls Yonsoo into his office. This can only mean bad news. The first thing he asks her is her age. Before he drops the ball he tells her he's fond of her. Uh oh...
Sunchun tells her that she's at an age to settle down and since she's moved in, Minji has settled down. He compliments her work at the store too.
Then he moves in for the kill. It's time for her to move out. It seems Sunchun doesn't want her to get hurt over his son and besides, in her situation she has to find someone to marry. She shouldn't waste her time.
Daddy dearest informs Yonsoo that at Minchul's age, he sees every girl for fun and he should, but "he shouldn't do this to you." Sunchun apologizes for Minchul.
Yonsoo stands up and tells him she understands what he's saying but she wants to tell him one thing. It's this: "Director Lee's not as you describe him." And with that, Yonsoo bows to leave but Sunchun isn't done.
He goes on telling her that Minchul has lots on his mind and that some men seek comfort from women at such times but that's only a temporary feeling. With those words Sunchun thinks she gets what he's saying.
Yonsoo walks out but she is tearing up.
Minchul is in his glass enclosed meeting room with his aides. He's told that the reporters are persistent about the Zero matter. Minchul feels that if they try to explain it'll only escalate the issue so he wants to divert attention to Kumsuk's new album. He also wants more TV and radio spots for her.
At this moment, Yonsoo has walked back to her area and sees Minchul through the glass. She stands there looking at him with the saddest face and tears. Minchul sees her right away and he immediately goes to exit the room to go to her but Yonsoo swiftly walks away. She's walking quite fast and he's following her all the way to the ladies room which is in an isolated place. She quickly enters and he's left standing outside the door.
He doesn't quite know what to do and at that instant Narae comes along, kinda surprised to see Minchul just standing there. She tells him today is her last day and thanks him for everything. He then enters the men's room and as soon as she enters the ladies room he makes his exit. He has this look of concern on his face and is clearly wondering what's wrong with Yonsoo.
Now Minchul and his aides are in the store looking at a display. Narae has a little crowd around her, she's saying her good-byes and telling Team Manager that she quit. Yonsoo is there also.
TM wants to know what she'll do now and Narae just tells her that she'll hear about her soon. TM tells her not to get into trouble, she feels guilty as if she were letting a beast out. LOL Narae warns TM not to give Yonsoo a hard time or she'll be back.
Narae happily runs off for her first day on her new job. Minchul spots Yonsoo and just looks at her bewildered.
Yonsoo is home packing her bags and Minji is there with her very upset. Minji begins unpacking her things. She says that she can't go back till the fall semester. Yonsoo answers that she needs to get tuition ready and she needs to catch up on her studies. Minji tells her that she'll give her the money, she doesn't want her to leave.
Yonsoo tries to soothe Minji telling her that even though she won't be living there, they won't grow apart, that she's special to her. Minji doesn't believe her. Yonsoo says she can be like a sister now and not a teacher. Minji tells her she never thought of her as a teacher in the first place. She was so used to having Yonsoo around and now she'll be all alone again. That's so sad.
Yonsoo tells Minji that she can come anytime to see her and she will come to see her too. Anything to keep Yonsoo there longer, Minji tells her that she can't leave until she says good-bye to Minchul. She wants her to stay one more night and leave in the morning.
Right at this moment Sunchun walks in and tells Minji he wants to talk to Yonsoo. Minji leaves the room. He's quite pleased to see Yonsoo is packing and tells her he has a car waiting outside for her to take her wherever she is going. I guess that settles that.
Outside, Minji sees her off. Yonsoo quickly gets into the car and both Yonsoo and Minji are softly crying as they wave to each other.
I can really feel Minji's pain in losing Yonsoo this way. And yes, she will be all alone again. Wait until Minchul finds out!
I'm guessing the reason Sunchun doesn't want Minchul with Yonsoo is probably because of her lower status in life. Though he gave Yonsoo compliments, she is beneath his family in his eyes, she's an orphan who works in a store. I can't believe how quickly he moved to get rid of her after he caught her in Minchul's room. It's interesting that while all the "wicked moms" in these dramas fight with arguments and meaness, the "wicked dad" here, after just a few nasty words to his son gets rid of the girl just like that. No on going quarreling, he just moves into action. He thinks it's a finished deal now but he doesn't really know his son.
