LOL! LOL! LOL!  You guys are killing me! About that backpack, I think I can give a sober explanation why Sunjae always carry one around. Remember, he was a medical student and carried his books around. When he quit and left the house, he has no permanent place to live but bum around Mr. Oh's apartment. He must be carrying all his personal essentials like toothbrush, cologne, undies, etc. He has no car but rides a motorcycle so carrying a briefcase is not an option. I also think that wardrobe dept. of SBS project the image of Sunjae as a young, carefree student and when the scenario changed, they forget to change his outfit accordingly. 
I do agree with you that there's nothing that Sunjae can do to turn Yonsoo's love to him. On this regard, I think Sunjae is delusional. But k-drama always portray a rejected suitor to be adamant, pathetic and would be happy with one-sided love as long as the girl agree to marry.
Minchul, on the other hand, has not dated Yonsoo in a traditional way. Their meeting were mostly brief (except for that night at the beach) at the office, at home and in his car. And he has not displayed public affection for her, yet. Yonsoo's moving out of the house and Sunjae's threat and confrontation with his father, pushed Minchul to make a decision.

LOL emceema! Okay, okay, let's move on...
After Sunjae and Sena's date, she has cooked him a nice little meal. What does he do? He's sitting with his back to her thinking abot Yonsoo who's out on the roof after leaving the big house. Sunjae won't even fake it to Sena to make her feel her efforts were appreciated.
Minchul rings Yonsoo on the cell and asks where she is, he tells her he'll be there in 10 minutes, to come outside. She waits for him.
Minchul quickly appears in front of her:
Minchul - Are you that foolish? How can you just leave at Father's whim. You know how it is with my father. Don't you know what he says has no bearing whatsoever?
Yonsoo - I left because I was angry, not because of your father. Huh?? In front of you, I feel small, insecure. I'm always on edge when I'm with you because I feel unworthy and you may be disappointed. But it's not because you possess more things or are better than I. It's because of my love. My heart for you is much bigger than yours. Huh?? But I won't be humiliated by your father for loving you. I didn't want to endure it any longer.
I think there are some things she really said that were lost in translation because some of her words don't make any sense. She says she left not because of his father but because she was angry. Angry about what?? We haven't seen her angry at Minchul lately.
I went back to 14 to check out Minchul and Yonsoo's encounters to find out exactly what she's angry about. All in a row, here are their encounters.
Riding bikes together then sitting in the park talking, smiling and being happy.
In the karoke bar where he dances with her holding her close singing I Love You in her ear.
On the balcony off the bedroom he comes from behing and wraps his arms around her, she smiles, looks content. He asks how Sena is, she tells him she saw Sunjae working on her album, that Sunjae moved out, quit school. Minchul listens, is still holding her close, no anger from him at all, end of scene.
On the ship, he smiles, meets Mimi. First of all for the director of Victory to even attend his competition says a lot about Minchul as a person. He puts aside business to see Sena. Sena thanks Minchul and he tells her to make him regret losing her. That's a compliment. He has a big smile on his face and in good spirit pats her. Even Mimi is smiling watching them. Yonsoo is smiling watching but Sunjae is beside her. Minchul spots them, goes up to them and tells Yonsoo he wouldn't miss it. He's smiling and tells Sunjae "good work" in front of Yonsoo.
Yonsoo and Minchul standing on deck watching Sena. He puts his hand over hers on the railing, she smiles at him.
Minchul and Yonsoo didn't fight. Zero's announcement had nothing to do with her. Minchul wasn't mad at her.
Last scene was in the bedroom. She saw what Minchul just went through on the ship when Victory was "outed" by Mimi and Sunjae. Her first words to Minchul in his bedroom are "talk to Sunjae." He tells her never to bring up his name again.
Geez, come on now, is this why she's angry? Why she feels "small?" He tells her never to bring up his name again. Doesn't Minchul have a right to be mad? This has nothing to do with Yonsoo anyway. It's about Victory's business, not her and Minchul's relationship or Minchul's love for her. Geez..
After that in the bedroom, he tells her he's sorry, he has to fight Sunjae and Sena is on his enemies list too because he works for her.
This is the only bone of contention lately. I just listed every encounter in a row that led up to this. What makes Yonsoo say she's angry now?
Is Minchul only worthy of Yonsoo's love if Minchul is nice to Sunjae and Sena? They're included in Yonsoo's love package? I can't see anything else that could have made her angry.
Minchul tells her he wants to be a good person to her but it's so difficult. This is when he holds her close in an embrace. Sunchun catches them. She overhears his ugly words and Minchul sticks up for her.
Minchul stands at her bedroom door and talks to her about his mother.
Which now brings us to Minchul talking to Yonsoo outside after she leaves the house. To listen to her words, she left not because of father but because she was angry, and again I have to repeat. About what?
She feels small, insecure, always on edge with him because she feels unworthy and he may be disappointed (about Sunjae?) and it's all because her heart for him is much bigger than Minchul's.
Someone tell me, what has he done lately to make her feel like this? I just listed all their meetings. He hasn't done anything to cause her to feel like that.
Can't she lay the blame right now where it belongs? On Sunchun who threw her out?
Yonsoo talks in circles, then she tells Minchul she won't be humiliated by his father for loving him and she didn't want to endure it any longer. It only happened once, what is she talking about? She wants to know if she's still wrong? The answer is YES!! about Minchul.
Minchul looks as surprised with her out burst as I am. She isn't wrong about not taking it from Sunchun, I'm with her on that but she at first blames Minchul, she left because she's angry and her love is bigger than Minchul's.
I think there's a lot lost in translation. I wish I knew Korean. Minchul didn't do a thing wrong. Since the cherry blossom festival, everything has been great for them. Minchul HAS BEEN a hands on, touchy, huggy boyfriend. So what the heck??
Does Minchul's love for her have to include Sunjae? It's a no go if Sunjae is not included? She must have some low self esteem. Minchul has been very attentive and loving towards her lately. You can't blame him for what his father said to her. I say this because Yonsoo makes him look like a bad guy with no feelings and that's not true.
Standing there, he looks at her with such compassion. He sits beside her and puts his arms around her, one holding the back of her head as he holds her in his arms as her tears fall. This guy loves her, how can she say her love is bigger than his? He's the one in this relationship who always goes to her first, to hold her, to comfort her if needed.
After a bit he tells her to go in and she tells him not to worry about her, she belongs here. He gives her a little nod.
Sunjae is waiting at Minchul's car for him, is it his business? He tells Minchul he shouldn't have called him that day...blah, blah, blah.
Minchul comes homes and tells his father he and Minji will move out. He goes into Minji's room, she's holding a painting Yonsoo gave her. Minji asks Minchul if he knew that Yonsoo liked him? She tells him that Yonsoo's the first one she gave permission in her heart who can love him. YES!! Minchul says wow!
Minchul - We have this incredible connection. The woman I wanted to introduce...
Minji - Then...Yonsoo?
Mincul shakes his head yes with a big smile and raises his eyebrows.
Minji - How could you? She's smiling and begins hitting him with his attache case. "You're so sly!"
MInchul - Minji...you...I'm so happy you approve of her.
Minji - It's not my business! Get out! (I think she feels embarrassed as the little sister)
Minchul laughing - Alright.
Minji - Get out! as she pushes him out the door. She leans on the door looking at Yonsoo's painting smiling.
Narae and Yonsoo on the roof, she welcomes Yonsoo back. Sena is there too wondering how Sunjae could leave without saying anything. Nice guy. Doesn't Yonsoo feel bad for Sena, she's the cause of Sunjae leaving.

I'm back...This next scene deserves its own special page.
I hope you don't mind me going on and on, I can't resist.
Yonsoo gets a new job at the art school. Next we see her leaving Victory for good carrying her bag. Minchul comes along...
Minchul - You feel completely free quitting the store too?
She doesn't answer. She's the strange one, I'm telling you...Minchul takes her bag and puts it in his car.
Minchul - Get in. There's a place we have to go.
Their music begins to play!! He walks hand and hand with Yonsoo into a hotel. He doesn't say a word. They get on an elevator. Inside the elevator, Minchul takes Yonsoo's hand and holds it tightly. She doesn't have a clue what's up.
They get off on the 17th floor. They walk in the corridor to a room! Uh oh! He unlocks the door, stands there, nods his head for her to enter. She enters, he follows and closes the door. Yea!!
This is a beautiful penthouse, hugh rooms. He takes her to one room and he just stands there.
I just love LBH's acting here. It doesn't even look like he's "acting."
Our confident, always in charge Minchul looks very nervous now. Yonsoo is standing face to face with him. He looks at her then he looks behind himself. Real serious like, he walks over to the windows and begins opening all the drapes letting the sun in.
Their music is blaring away loudly like his heartbeat probably. Something is about to happen. Minchul walks back to Yonsoo, gives his hands a little clap, walks her over to the window seat and sits her down. Minchul leans over and looks out the window. LOL Hand in pocket, (he's nervous as hell) she's looking at him...
Minchul - Hey, want a drink? LOL LOL
She shakes her head no. He pours himself a big drink and he precedes to drink the whole thing. Yonsoo is watching dumbfounded. Hahaha. Poor Minchul. This is so hard for him. He looks out the window again, he wipes his mouth, all this without looking at her.
Whoa! Yea!! LOL Minchul gets down on one knee!! He has his mouth clenched tight, he looks up at her with those eyes. He grabs her hands and stands up! LOL He walks her over to a big door and stops before it.
Minchul - I don't want to open this door by myself. Please open if you want to. He looks down, keeping his eyes lowered the whole time. Yonsoo opens the door. She smiles at what she sees and looks at Minchul. After seeing her reaction, (so far so good) he walks past her and enters first. she follows.
Inside, on the floor is a hugh flower (roses) arrangement shaped into a hugh heart. It's just gorgeous and very, very touching. Minchul steps inside the heart as does Yonsoo. Minchul kneels down inside the smaller rose heart and Yonsoo follows his lead.
Minchul picks up a small ring box and opens it. He takes out a beautiful, very large diamond engagement ring. He takes her hand and wants to put it on her finger but doesn't. Instead, he turns her hand over and places the ring in the palm of her hand and closes her fingers over it.
Minchul - I'll put it on in Minji and Sena and Narae's presence. (He's trying so hard to say the right thing for her) He pauses a second and says "so think about it until then. If you can stay by my side till the end..." Yonsoo is tearing up and Minchul is looking down as he talks to her. "It won't be easy with someone like me. So really think about it."
Yonsoo - still kneeling in front of each other with Minchul looking down - "I don't have to think about it, when it comes to you, I don't think."
Minchul looks up into her eyes. Yonsoo - "I will stay by your side."
Minchul looks into her eyes and she's looking into his eyes. He looks really handsome here, very handsome. Don't you think emceema?
The camera is close up on them. He slowly places one hand on the side of her face and he moves in closer as he does what only LBH does in these dramas, he open mouth kisses her! Their music is playing...
Then the camera films them from above showing them in this beautiful setting.
Who says Minchul isn't romantic? Who has ever thought of a flower heart that you can step inside of?? LOL
Okay, I'm done...want to discuss this? LOL I'm game...

Jasy, thanks so much for the great recap. You've given me plenty of ammunition.
I agree about Yon Soo being angry. I think the writers got their timing wrong, because at this point she should no longer be angry or insecure. Min Chul's been very loving and open with her lately. The one time he blew up about Sun Jae, he immediately apologized. Something he'd never done before, so we see he's trying.
After the cherry blossom date, he's been ideal. Before then, everytime he tried to have even a simple meal with her, Sun Jae interfered and she let him. First time I remember, she made him wait while she took care of Sena and Sun Jae followed her cab to the restaurant. She was so late that Min Chul was leaving. He sees them together and invites Sun Jae to join them. Second time, they went alone, had a great time. everybody happy and he spots her and Sun Jae's picture hanging on the wall. Third time was when he wanted to introduce her to Min Ji as his woman and guess what?? That's right Sun Jae, AGAIN!!! And she's angry!!??!!?? 
Min Chul had told her time and time again to make herself clear to Sun Jae. She was in denial and kept up her relationship with him, in spite of knowing how he felt about her, and knowing how Min Chul felt about him. I have to give Min Chul points for perserverance. I would've dumped anybody who did what she did, over and over again.  Much, too much work!!
I love the scene with him and Min Ji. They have such a warm relationship and now both of them laugh. I don't think they laughed much in that house before Yon Soo. She's really done a great job with Min Ji. I'm very pleased about that. Min Ji is now looking like a girl her age, instead of dressing like she's going clubbing all of the time. I guess that's Yon Soo's influence too. It makes it so much easier to have Min Ji's approval.
I don't think Min Chul could be more charming if he tried. This guy really gets to me. There's nothing more gratifying, to me, than to see a guy who's so closed off and emotionally unavailable, open his heart. This is what Min Chul is doing and you can see he's shy and unsure of himself. He has no real experience in this area. He knows he's lacking as far as being able to show his feelings, and he's apologetic for that. I love that they're finally committed and on the same page. Finally!! She tells him she doesn't think when it comes to him. She'll stay by his side. Great!!
I love that he wants to be traditional as much as he can and wants to wait until the people important to both of them can witness their engagement. With all that he's been through, with the dysfunctional family he lived with, he tries really hard to follow cultural demands as often as he can. Besides that he's very mannerly. I say this because, after his mother died he pretty much raised himself and is always careful of his demeanor. He may appear cold, but I've never believed it. I think he's trying so hard that he gives off that appearance. He doesn't like to make mistakes. I really like his character, as I've said before. He's someone I'd trust in a pinch.
So much happens in this episode. Its very key to what's to come. I really hate Sun Jae more and more and never turn back.

Your right smoochie, Minchul tries to be as traditional as he can. Did you notice it was right after Minji approved of Yonsoo that he proposed? If Yonsoo showed up at that special dinner date that time to "introduce" her to Minji, I wonder if Minji would have accepted her then? That night, Minji was a bit taken aback by the idea of meeting Minchul's woman.
I really don't think he proposed because Yonsoo got kicked out of the house and he thought he'd lose her somehow. He's had intention to propose right along, ever since that dinner date night. His mind was set on the woman he chose for his wife even though there was that awful argument which threw everything out the window.
Minchul loved her right along but Sunjae was always gettting in between him and Yonsoo. As soon as Minji approved he didn't hestitate for a second. His heart was already set on making Yonsoo his wife. Minji's words came out of the blue and she actually made it easy for Minchul to proceed. This also shows how important Minji is to him, he doesn't bother telling his father at all let alone asking permission.
The next morning outside, Minchul is nearing Victory's doors and he seems to have a new stride in his walk and he's whistling a happy tune. Did you notice? TM noticed. She says good morning to Minchul and he gives her a big, big smile. LOL Her mind is running wild and she just about faints on the spot! Poor girl.

Smoochie, I love that gif you posted. Isn't it an ad for a cologne? When he put his hand on his face and then suddenly burst into big smile showing his teeth, he is so adorable. LBH a class by himself!
I started to watch epi 16 last nite and it started with Sunjae accosting Yonsoo about her engagement to Minchul. He was begging her not to go through with it. His face, hair disheveled, shows desperation. But Yonsoo's facial expression, this time, is frustration and anger. She did not show her soft side and comfort Sunjae. Instead, she instantly rejected him. Sena saw Sunjae begging. She got angry and slapped him in front of Yonsoo. Then she said what is so great about Yonsoo that he is acting this way. I was kind of slighted with this statement from Sena. Compared to her, Yonsoo is a lot more desirable and I can understand why Sunjae is so desperate.
There is also a scene where Minchul visited Yonsoo at the Art Center where she work. It surprised Yonsoo but she is so happy. They way she looked at Minchul, unabashedly gazing at him, her eyes all but glued at his face. Minchul confessed his insecurity, his doubts about marriage and wondering if he could make her happy. Yonsoo put her hand on Minchul and told him that she doesn't need to be happy all the time. Once in a while is enough for her.
Wow, these conversations are what I've been expecting from them. It's been a long time coming. The next scenario is the engagement day and Yonsoo is at the beauty parlor making herself pretty.
I have to stop here and wait for a line by line comment from you guys. I don't want to feel sad yet.

Jasy, you're right that he proposed after getting Min Ji's approval, but I have a feeling that even if she disapproved Min Chul would find a way for her to give in. Eventually Min Ji would want to see Min Chul happy.
Its funny, but I never expected him to go to Sunchun for approval. He couldn't care less what he thinks. I think that the fact that he brought home a wife without considering his children, he gave up that right in Min Chul's mind.
Sun Jae nearly went off his rocker when Min Chul invited him to the engagement dinner. This kid is so pathetic. How could he act so over the top, in front of Min Chul? Min Chul asked him why he was so surprised. He already knew their relationship. He told him, that he told him to protect her and he will. He told Sun Jae not to act foolish. He told him to come, because he said he'd be watching, so come and watch.
This kid had a tantrum like a three year old. Doesn't he have any pride? A woman who made it clear, she loves Min Chul is getting engaged to Min Chul. He should just go away quietly. Such a twit!! How could he give another man the satisfaction of seeing him behave this way over a woman who wouldn't give him the time of day romantically. He has the nerve to ask Min Chul does he love her enough to swear on her life, or some inane thing like that. Min Chul, who loves to stick it to him answered, not as much as somebody. Now, I know Min Chul loves her that much, but he enjoys letting Sun Jae believe whatever he wants. And Sun Jae believes that he doesn't love her as much as he does. So Min Chul leaves him thinking that he's going to get engaged to her only to win over him, which is far from the case. Min Chul loves Yon Soo. I think he feels he doesn't owe Sun Jae and explanation. Neither do I. 
So emceema you understand Sun Jae's desparation? Why? He knew that these two were in love. He knew, certainly that Yon Soo doesn't love him. He knew that she had him tagged for Sena. There were no secrets. Why does he think how much he loves her makes a difference, if she doesn't love him? I don't get it. Another thing I don't get is why he thinks so little of Min Chul, that he thinks Min Chul doesn't deserve her love. His relationship with Min Chul is a separate thing. There was a reason why their relationship was so damaged, but that has nothing to do with Min Chul's ability to love and care for Yon Soo, or any other woman for that matter. One thing has nothing to do with the other. Is it because he finds Min Chul cold and distant? That's with HIM. Not the rest of the world. I don't understand.
You already know I find this character disgusting and pathetic all through this drama. His primary motive in everything he does, is spite. Even before he found out the truth about his biological father, he was crossing lines he had no business crossing, without giving a rat's A$$ who got hurt. What he found out, by the way, was not enough to make him do the things he's done. I still don't get that. I'm blaming the writers for this. Again, all he knows right now is that he was raised by a man, not his father, who was a business rival of his real father. So what?? Fine, let's say I buy that, why does Min Chul have to pay?
Jasy, you're right about him protecting Yon Soo from Sunchun. Is this the same Sunchun who threw his keyboard out of the window, while he stood by helplessly and watched? He doesn't even want to stick around to protect his own mother. Even when he tried in the past he was shot down. He asks Min Chul to watch over her, which I find ironic. How's Sun Jae going to protect anybody?
I have to go now, but I'll be back.
