K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning,

LOL smoochie!! I think we're gluttens for punishment. Why is it that we can't watch an episode only once? LOL

I guess we all notice that when the actors or actresses cry in their scenes, they almost never wipe their tears away while interacting. Visual effect you know. In real life when we cry, we automatically wipe our tears away however long it takes. Minchul in contrast, crying while driving his car was the real deal, notice how he kept wiping away the tears on his face, even putting his fingers to his eyes to press those tears away. That's why the camera zoomed in close, he was doing a terrific job of real crying and not just a few tears trickling down his face. His acting skills are always excellent anyway. Remember him in A Bittersweet Life?

In my description of Yonsoo's verbal exchange with Minchul outside the restaurant, I never once thought of the word begging. You hit the nail on the head smoochie when you said she was begging. That's what she was doing and in a hysterical panicky way to boot. Everytime he answered her, without even a pause she answered him back quickly and frantically, always trying to convince him. CJW was excellent here, right on the money.

I think Minchul underestimates her toughness. Because he has always seen her as gentle and kind with everyone, he assumes just like he said, she needs to be taken care of and protected and he just can't do that now.

I think Yonsoo could handle Minchul's despair. She could be the one holding Minchul up and put it all in perspective for him, comfort him. If he'd open up to Yonsoo, she could try to help him with easing his shame of the murderous scandal, she might be able to lift some of his father's burden off of his shoulders.

Yonsoo committed herself to him when she jumped into the ocean at the beach. Right before that, he was expressing his fears about his "thirst." She already liked him and that night sealed it for her. Through all the silly crap with "the kid," and regardless of how her actions looked to Minchul all this time, her love has always personally been focused on Minchul. Her desperate words trying to convince Minchul to stay with her acknowledges the depth of her love for him. Throughout all their troubles and interferences he has always been the only one for her. Minchul knows this now.

Minchul is back at Victory. He's staring at the trophy for the longest time. He picks it up and looks at it. He hears Jang's voice in his head telling him it was the night they got the first music award. "Lee Young Jun came to your father about Mimi's business. They had a fight. Then your father hit Lee with the trophy. Victory was built with the blood of Sunjae's father."

Minchul in deep thought, rubs his face then throws the trophy into the large lighted Victory Records sign, smashing the trophy to bits.

As if the crash sound awoke him to his senses, he looks a bit startled at what he just did. Or is it that the crash sound made his nightmare all the more real to him? Or it could be the ugliness that trophy represents to Minchul now, someone's blood. He breaths heavy and deeply now, then holds his head in his hands. He can't just brush it off or even run away because it would do no good. Sunchun's demons are in Minchul's head and it's slowly destroying him.

At this moment, Minchul's cell phone rings. It's Yonsoo calling. Minchul is in his own despair now, oblivious to anything else. He sits there covering his face and ears with his arms. He never even looks at his phone.

Yonsoo is still on the roof and she leaves Minchul a message.
Yonsoo - Well...no matter what you say, I'm not giving you up. (her voice is soft and gentle) Because I know you're hurt more than I. I know you'll feel more hurt after hurting me. I can't give up. You know I'm the only one who knows how you really feel. I'll wait. I'll wait until you're ready. Just remember that I'm here waiting for you."

Finishing her message to Minchul, she brings her knees up to her chest and cries...

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD Family emoticon

Narae's a friend every girl should have. Always there to help and offer a word of comfort. There's nothing she wouldn't do for Yon Soo. She even put up with Sena, before she became successful. emoticon

Min Chul and Yon Soo are both in the same place, both grieving. Though I realize how crushed Yon Soo is, Min Chul's whole world is crumbling around him. He's always been in control and capable of handling any problem, but this is a whole new set of circumstances. The sad thing is that, knowing his father as he does, there's no question in his mind that what he's been told is true. He knows all that Sunchun is capable of. He knows he did this. EVen though they have a crappy relationship, he's still his father. That has to be horrible for him. He must be feeling guilty by association. Not true. I'd like to have access to his thinking right now. emoticon

When he's outside of Yon Soo's house and is watching her from the street, I thought for a moment he was going to relent. He looked so miserable and he sees she looks so miserable. Not at all the Min Chul who told her he can't handle the burden. His feelings for her are right in his face, but he drives away.

Sunchun finds the broken trophy. He's handling it so tenderly it made me sick. All that happened was for that trophy. So many lives ruined. Min Chul's assistant is worried because he hasn't shown up at work for a while. His father says to handle things until he comes back to work. He wants to know if they've found Jang yet.

The scene with him and Myungja is very touching. He meets her as he's approaching the house. She looks so forlorn and sad. He calls out to her. She's surprised to see him. She asks what's going on? He hasn't been home lately and his office is calling looking for him. He says he has something to tell her. They sit in the garden. He asks her what Sun Jae's father was like. He's curious. She tells him he was quite kind and soft-hearted. He would cry at movies before she would. Min Chul says, Sun Jae must've taken after him. He asks why she married his father, who's completely different. She says she wishes he didn't hate his father so much. He's already lost Sun Jae and if he hates him, he'd be too sad. Even if he's not saying anything, he must be very disappointed in Sun Jae. Regardless of what happened between him and Sun Jae's father, he did raise Sun Jae. For that she's grateful and indebted. She asks him to be a good boy to his father. He asks in disbelief if she lived all fo her life with that sentiment. She's felt grateful and sorry for his father?

Her hands are folded in front of her on the table. He reaches over and covers her hands with his hand. He takes her hand in his. He's looking down, he's very sorry for her. She says he has big hands, all these years she's never notice that. He's still looking down, to sad too look at her. She tells him not to let her and Sun Jae bother him. She tells them its not his fault being cold to them. She says she's so happy he's opening up to her.. emoticon He sighs a deep sigh. Still looking down, still holding her hand.

This is a very tender scene between them. It may be the first time they've had a conversation on that personal level. I liked how Min Chul behaved toward her with respect and kindness. He started out intending to tell her the truth, but after seeing how fragile she is, he just couldn't do it. He was overwhelmed with pity for her. Especially when he heard how grateful she is to his father. She'd find out soon enough, but not from his lips. He wouldn't be the one to crush her. emoticon

I have to go, but I'll be back. emoticon

Later emoticon

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD,

Jang comes back to Sunchun's office and the second he sees him, Sunchun grabs him by the throat. He's furious. He told Jang that he'd take care of him if he kept his mouth shut but he went and told Minchul everything. Sunchun threatens to turn him in himself. He tells him he can't give him any money now because to Minchul it'll look like he's guilty. Jang gives his threat that he could repeat his story to someone else but Sunchun says he can talk all he wants but the statute of limitations has passed plus he has no evidence. Sunchun knows it would cause a fracas but as long as he's cleared of the false charge he'll endure it. Jang repeats aloud that he killed Lee Young jun, Sunjae's father.

Sunchun says he hasn't committed a crime and anyone can see that. He tells him he has to realize one thing, a father wants to stand proud before his children under any circumstances and they would do anything for that. For old times sake, Sunchun will give Jang a last chance to run.

Jang acts scared and asks Sunchun to forgive him. Again, Jang will disappear if he gives him money but Sunchun can't give him a cent or he'd get into trouble. Jang begs. Sunchun is so mad he screams at him to get lost. Jang collects his composure and tells him he'll repeat this, "you'll see."

Once back in the hallway, Jang stops and turns off his tape recorder. He got Sunchun!

Minchul is heading up to his room and is met by Sunchun. Minchul stops and tells him not to worry, he couldn't bring himself to tell Mother anything though he wanted to. He says she's too pitifu, living her life trusting and dependent on him.
Sunchun tells Minchul he reported Jang since Minchul agonized over that lie. (did he really turn him in?) He asks Minchul if he can trust him now.

Minchul - Now you've abandoned Mr. Jang as well.
Sunchun - You'll continue this? Whom are you going to trust here?
Minchul, staring at him - Take it to the limit. Prove your innocence. That's what I wish for you. (Minchul walks away)

Minchul enters Minji's room and she's asleep holding a framed photo of herself and Minchul. He sits on the bed beside her and takes the photo and looks at it. He strokes her hair looking at her and she wakes up. The first thing she says to him is he missed his engagement and he doesn't come home, "what's going on with you?"

Minchul takes her hands and she lies down on his legs. He strokes her hair asking her if she'd like to go away to live by themselves. He thinks maybe they can go someplace where she can study art like Paris or New York.
Minji asks about his work and he says it doesn't matter. She knows the company means everything to him but he tells her not anymore. They can leave tomorrow but she has to prepare herself for some pain because they'll leave empty handed. Minji thinks as long as they're leaving they should ask Dad for lots of money because Minchul made lots for the company. Minchul says they're cutting all ties with father.
Minji asks if Jonsoo is coming too. He says no, they weren't meant to be. Minji doesn't understand because he liked her enough for an engagement.

Minchul - She should meet someone ordinary. Then she can fulfill her dreams.
Minji - What's her dream?
Minchul thinking to himself Yonsoo's words - "I want my children to have a happy home, not like mine. Isn't my dream too ordinary?"
Minchul looks so sad.
Minji - Whatever it is, you can make it come true.
Minchul - No, I can't fulfill it for her.
Minji - What is that you can't do?
Minchul - Just decide where you want to go. Anywhere's fine with me.

Miho and her manager are in their van. Sena and Narae are in theirs, all driving in some kind of a frenzied hurry. It looks like they all have to be at the same place but each is trying to beat the other there first. Narae slams into the front of Miho's van knocking off the grill. Miho's manager gets out and acts like a drama queen, carrying on and holding his neck. Narae knows his game. They all start arguing. He tells Narae she should just get married and wash dishes. LOL Narae picks him up by his lapels and slams him against his car. Miho calls them b****** On and on they jab at each other. They all start running trying to beat the other and Sena falls. Narae ends up carrying her on her back! Miho and her manager gets knocked down on the steps and Narae runs right past them calling him a fat pig. Such a funny scene!

Minji is waiting for Yonsoo after class. She sees her sitting alone and fingering her engagement ring and knows she's sad. They go to an outdoor eatery and Minji tells Yonsoo that Minchul wants to go abroad. Yonsoo is shocked. Minji is all for going but wanted to tell her in case Minchul regrets it later because he might feel guilty about leaving her.

Minji tells Yonsoo that if she can't hold him back she has no right being his girl. Yonsoo asks if she knows what's going on with him. Minji doesn't know but she does know that he's worn out and that he'd never give up the company so something must have really gotten to him. Yonsoo looks lost.
Minji asks her what will be her tactic, how will she turn him around? She wishes Yonsoo good luck how ever she does it.

Minchul pulls up, gets out and starts walking into the eatery and spots Yonsoo. He's surprised to see her and stares at her. He does not look happy. This was Minji's plan. Minji tells Yonsoo good luck. She runs up to Minchul and tells him she's sorry with a big smile on her face and turns around to wave at Yonsoo and she leaves. Who would have ever thought that Minji would be on Yonsoo's side?

Yonsoo is left sitting there so Minchul, hands in pockets, walks over and sits down. He looks aggravated when he looks at her.

Minchul - Why are you here? (Yonsoo doesn't answer) You should've told Minji the situation.

Yonsoo - I came to see you. I missed you.

Minchul - I don't care to see you.

Yonsoo - I hear you're leaving for abroad.

Minchul - Yes

Yonsoo - Tell me why you're leaving. (he doesn't answer or look at her.) Do you want to see me go insane? (she's tearing up) Put yourself in my shoes. A man you love has turned ice cold. But you have no idea why. And he wants to leave to where you can't see him. I know nothing. I can't accept the circumstances. He is telling me to let him go. Can you do that? Can you? (she's losing it again and he can't look at her) You can't, can you? So why ask me to do it? Why are you forcing me?

Minchul - I know it'll be hard at first. But do it for me. Don't be childish. You know what? It is not important whatever the reason is. What we have to remember is the fact we broke up.

Yonsoo - Reasons are important to me. I can't let you go if I can't understand why. I won't let you go.

Minchul, looks at her trying to be cold as he can - The jilted one won't tolerate reasons. Don't you think like that? You still want a reason? I have hundreds. Want to hear them?

Yonsoo - Do you think I'll give you up if you're cold to me? I won't. I know you too well to turn back now. You're a much better person than this. You are not a cruel person. I already know that.

Minchul - (I think he pauses here to think of what to say) What if what you saw is only one side of me. I'm my father's son. No matter how rashly I deny it, that cold and cruel blood runs through me. I'd bet you never feel that way about Sunjae. Because he's not my father's son. So he can never be cruel. (Minchul is really putting himself down and he doesn't deserve this) He acts like a villain sometimes, but he becomes a good man again. Don't you get the idea from him who still loves you? I'd never be able to do that. (she's staring at him) I take revenge on those who hurt me. I can't treat you as if I am Sunjae!

Yonsoo - Why do you compare yourself to Sunjae?

Minchul - I want you to look at me for what I am! Don't be blinded by what you want to see. (he's very angry now)

Yonsoo - No one knows you better than I.

Minchul gives a look on his face like he can't believe her. "Let's not waste time like this. I'll be leaving. Your paths and mine will never cross again."

Yonsoo - I'll wait. You'll come back eventually. No, you don't have to. I'll find you whenever you want. That's all.

Minchul - Don't you know those words burden me? Don't wait for me. I'll forget everything now. And even if I come back, I won't call you.

Yonsoo - Mr. Lee.

Minchul - Yonsoo, don't try to understand. Just hate me, instead. It's good for you. I'll go first. (he walks aways)

Yonsoo stands up and screams for him to wait, then she drops to the floor. Getting up, she runs outside after him as he drives away. She falls to the ground crying and screaming for him to wait. Yonsoo then slowly walks the streets again and comes upon some store steps. She just sits there in despair.

Narae and Sena come home and find Yonsoo asleep. Narae notices she's sweating with a fever. Calling her name, Yonsoo doesn't answer.

These scenes are so sad. I liked how Minji got them together one last time, telling Yonsoo is was all up to her to reel Minchul back in. It looks like Yonsoo knew Minchul was coming at that moment.

I don't like how Minchul puts himself down. Honestly, I don't see what wrong he has done besides not getting along with his family. Yonsoo already knew that. So what? He still worked for his father and was civil to him there. It's like since Sunchun killed Sunjae's father, it means Minchul is no good too. I don't get that. I feel so bad for him right now, he thinks he's a bad person and that's not true. What in the world did he do to put himself down like this?

More heartaches coming soon and I'll be back.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD Family emoticon

Things are getting worse and worse. emoticon

I was thinking to the beginning of this drama. To me Min Chul had a typical "Bad Boy" image. As I've watched this unfold, I realized that's just not true. I mistook his aloofness and inaccessability. He's not at all a bad boy. He's distanced himself for his own protection. He grew up a bitter and lonely child and is afraid to allow anyone to be close to him. Min Ji yes, because she was a child and he protected her along with himself.

Looking at him now, I see a decent, ethical man. He could have brushed what his father did under the rug. Instead, he's horrified and guilty. He's feeling so many things right now. He's remembering the way he treated Sun Jae over the years and now blames himself for that, knowing what he knows now. I know it wasn't his fault, but he doesn't. The information he had at the time triggered that behavior and even Sun Jae understood that and now we know, so does Myungja.

When he had that conversation with Myungja we saw the capacity for kindness and mercy he has. When she told him she was grateful to his father, he was flabbergasted. Imagine what went through his mind when he heard that. She's grateful to the man who killed Sun Jae's father and then raised Sun Jae. And she lived her whole life that way. How could he be the one to tell her the truth about that man. He just didn't have the heart to destroy her.

I like that she let him know he shouldn't feel guilty about his behavior toward her and Sun Jae. She knows its because of the lie they told him, right at the start. Although he was cold and kept his life separate from them, he wasn't mean or disrespectful to her. I was gratified that they had that talk. I finally have sympathy for her and so does Min Chul.

I feel really sad for him. The first time he dared to open his heart to someone, he had to close it up again. He's in great pain and he caused Yon Soo great pain, through no fault of his own. He's gone back to thinking that he needs to protect himself and closed himself off again. Sunchun damaged his whole childhood and has now started on his adulthood. He's proven to his son that he was right to have no faith and trust in him. Its irreversable. He had little enough respect for his father before this, now he's feeling disgust for him. Sunchun has shown him that he's been right all along, he didn't deserve Min Chul's respect.

Very, very sad. emoticon

Its going to be hard to watch the rest of this episode, but I have to.

Jasy, you're right. Min Chul was a lot kinder to Myungja than her own son. She doted on him and coddled him and what did she get for it?? He basically blew her off. So far all he knew at this point is that his father, wasn't his father. He was very, very cold. Something we'd expect from Min Chul. Instead Min Chul showed heartfelt sorrow for her. emoticon

I have to go. I'll be back.

Later emoticon

I feel so sad for Yonsoo too. Here she has him right in front of her face at the outdoor eatery and no matter what she tells him, he has a shield up. She'll never get through to him. It's just so frustrating, his mind is set and there's no breaking through the barrier.

The only time I ever thought Minchul was a "bad boy" smoochie was when he was playing with Yonsoo at work before they became a couple and then I thought he was just a "very good, naughty bad boy." LOL

I never saw anything wrong with his personality so to speak. Really. Early on I thought of him as a no nonsense, serious and disciplined person. For example, at work he never teased TM even though she fawned all over him. He tried to help Sena even though it came from a deal but it fell through because of her lack of talent and impatience. He pretty much was a work horse so much that he changed clothes at work, always being there. He stayed pretty much to himself until Yonsoo started to stare at him. Then he played with her. All he did was work, go home and look after his sister. That was his life. Once he had Yonsoo as his, he was honest with her at the beach and how he felt. He didn't even know if he could be a real boyfriend to her until she convinced him at the beach by her words and running into the ocean.

He has been a good decent man. At home all through the years, he shut himself off because he didn't like what he believed to be true, that Sunchun fathered a child while his mother was alive. Minchul can't be blamed for his feelings here. He did what he had to do to survive in his own world. He knew no other way. He probably thought he would be disrespectful of his mother if he embraced Myungja. So he barely was alive in that house. I'm sure he loved his grandmother a lot and we know he loved Minji. Both Minchul and Minji had lots of love to give but the one person who they could have looked up to for love and protection let them down. Sunchun.

Like you said smoochie, he was never mean or disrespectful to Myungja, just aloof. He knows she's fragile now after all these years and he wanted to tell her about Sunchun and her first husband but couldn't bring himself to hurt her like that after he heard her words of praise for Sunchun. Myungja sees the good in Minchul though and tells him not to be so hard on himself. I do pity her. Her bio son has let her down and by the time Sunjae may come running, it could be too late.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD Family emoticon

For Min Ji to set this meeting up, she has to be feeling badly for both Yon Soo and Min Chul. She tells Yon Soo that if she can't hold Min Chul back she has no right to be his girl. Ah youth.....! emoticon Yon Soo is doing her damnedest. Min Ji hasn't seen her anguish and hasn't seen her near hysterics. How could she know? She tells Yon Soo that she only knows Min Chul is worn out. She asks how Yon Soo is going to turn him around. Charming? Cute? Tears? Yon Soo has cried many, many tears and its not going to work on him.

When he arrives he's so cold and detached and looks angry that she did this. I understand Yon Soo. He proposed to her. Set up an engagement dinner. Gave her a beautiful ring. Acted so happy, though a little scared. And within days cut her off cold. I'd want to know why. I feel for her. If he offered an excuse, any excuse, she'd at least have something to go on. She could try to make him see she's there for him.

The only thing he could say that would make her go away is, he's thought about it and realized he doesn't want to marry her. He's changed his mind. He doesn't love her enough to be married to her. He made a mistake. There'd be no argument then. She'd be brokenhearted and hurt, but what could she really say to that? She'd have to let him go. She'd have no choice. But, he's not offering any explanation. I'd be crazy too. And now he's leaving?

He's so awful to her here. He tells her Sun Jae can't be like him because he's not his father's son. Sun Jae tries to be vicious, but can't stay that way, but he can, because he's got his father blood running through his veins. He can be cold and cruel. Poor Min Chul!! I hope he doesn't really believe that. She asks why he's talking about Sun Jae. I don't know. Do you think he wants her to go to Sun Jae, thinking she'd be better off? Does HE think they're interchangeable too? In the end he tells her not to try to understand and to just hate him. It'll be better for her. He leaves her in a heap on the ground again. emoticon

When he got the call that she was sick and in the hospital he ran to be with her. This may have settled everything, but who was there at her bedside, holding her hand, kissing her hand? Min Chul watched this and didn't approach. This could have been the moment of truth, but of course, Sun Jae got in the way again. The look on Min Chul's face made me want to cry. He wants to do what's best for her, but it hurt him to see that. IMAGINE him seeing that!! I'm surprised he doesn't know that no matter what else happens, she'll never go to Sun Jae. Maybe he does know that, but still........! That sight!!! emoticon

When Min Chul gets home Sun Jae is waiting outside for him. He looks surprised to see Sun Jae. He runs up to his car and tells him to get back in and go to the hospital. He tells Sun Jae not to tell him what to do. He asks Min Chul why he's doing this. Why is he being so cruel to Yon Soo? Min Chul throws the question back at him. He asks, why he's doing this? He says, he told him if he hurt Yon Soo one more time he'd do everything to take her away from him, so why is he trying to get them back together? Sun Jae tells him, she's very sick. He made her sick. Min Chul tells him that if he goes to her now, she'll suffer for a long time. He says, its better she gets over him now. Without warning, Sun Jae punches him in the face. He asks Min Chul how he can be so cruel. He has him by the lapels. Min Chul says, "Is that all you have?? Hit me harder! Don't just say you care for Yon Soo, why don't you beat me to death? Do it!" Sun Jae punches him again and throws him to the ground. He says, "This isn't for her, but for me. Beating you will never equal enough punishment for what you've done to her. You have to suffer a long time." He pulls an envelope out of his pocket and says, "This is the hush money father gave to Yon Soo." He throws the envelope at Min Chul's feet. Min Chul hasn't gotten to his feet yet. Sun Jae stalks off, leaving him like that. Min Chul's lips are bloody. He didn't try to fight back. He sits there for a long time, leaning against his car and looks at the envelope. emoticon His eyes were glassy with tears through their whole conversation.

This scene is very pertinent. Sun Jae physically attacks Min Chul and he lets him. He feels he deserves it from Sun Jae. He tells him to beat him. Sun Jae, after living in the same house with him for fifteen years, has absolutely no insight to him. He doesn't know him at all. If he did, he'd know that he's not a guy who'd do what he did. Something terrible had to happen for him to abandon Yon Soo in the horrible way he did. Without a word, without a clue?? I know he doesn't have to care about what happens to Min Chul, I'm just saying he should know him better. Min Chul seems to know him, doesn't he? Why would Sun Jae believe Min Chul is the kind of man who would play with a woman's feelings? What history does he have of doing such a thing? None!! The only reason I can see is that Min Chul always refused to divulge his true feelings about Yon Soo to Sun Jae. And why should he? He did enjoy knowing that Sun Jae was in love with her and couldn't have her, so he did act as though he had casual feelings for her. It was only to aggravate him, though. Min Chul loves Yon Soo, but he didn't feel it was Sun Jae's business to hear it from him. So here we are!! Min Chul is apparently out of the picture. Its Sun Jae's big chance! He said he'd do everything to take her from him. I say he should go for it!!! FAT CHANCE!!!! emoticon

My computer is acting weird and I'll be very angry if I lose this post, so I'm going now. I'll be back.

Later emoticon

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD,

After Sunjae slugged Minchul he goes running back to Yonsoo...as if she's his now. Fat chance. Minchul is so down on himself he's okay with being punished by Sunjae. He wants it at this moment. That was too sad to watch. Too bad Sunjae didn't sit down with Minchul once and for all to ask him what's up. He's so full of hate and jealousy he jumps the gun. After Minchul learned about Sunchun and Young-un, Minchul wanted to talk to Sunjae I'm guessing, about that exact thing. Remember when Minchul was driving and saw Sunjae and he got out of his car? When Sunjae saw him he went right past him on his motorcycle, he didn't want to talk to Minchul.

Jang meets Mimi and he wants her help. She reminds him that he told her he had a hidden card. He tells her that Sunchun betrayed him and he wants a place to hide out. Mimi asks how he'll repay her. Sunjae looks at her for only a second and asks if she want revenge against Sunchun. If he helps her, what will she do for him? Boy, these are two of a kind aren't they? Mimi will give him everything Mr. Lee couldn't. Then she asks the important question, what does Jang have on Sunchun? We know he shows her...

Sunjae goes to Yonsoo's art school and he's told she called out sick. He runs over to Yonsoo's place and bangs on her door but she isn't answering. He's not leaving. Finally, she can barely get up off the bed and answers the door, and she faints in Sunjae's arms. He carries her all the way to the hospital.

Once in the hospital, he calls Narae and tells her about Yonsoo. Narae calls Minchul. Minchul quickly pulls up to the front entrance of the hospital and makes his way through the halls very quickly looking for Yonsoo and looking very concerned. Smoochie, did you notice some of the people watching LBH in the hospital? I'll bet they were real off the street people visiting the hospital and not extras.

Minchul find Yonsoo lying in the hall against a wall asleep and Sunjae is beside her. That could be okay but it isn't. It's the WAY he is beside her. He's up close and in her face holding her hand close to his mouth. What the hell!

The music begins to play as Minchul is watching this little display of concern for another man's woman. Sunjae is looking at Yonsoo's engagement ring. He's looking at her face. He makes me sick.

Minchul was quickly going to Yonsoo. Like you said smoochie, this may have settled everything between Minchul and Yonsoo. He came right away, as soon as Narae called. But he has so many thoughts running through his mind of what to do and he's so messed up, it doesn't take much for him to change his mind. He must now think Sunjae is better for her. He knows Sunjae loves her. But Minchul is forgetting the most important deal sealer, Yonsoo doesn't give a hoot for Sunjae in that way. Didn't she just get done begging Minchul? Yes she did but Minchul doesn't have any strength left in him. He doesn't think he's good for her now thinking because of his father, she would live in misery for aftermore. That's his thinking. Wrong! Nothing lasts forever. But Minchul gives up and walks away.

Head held up but looking like he's in a daze because of his own self defeat, he starts to work his way back to where he came from but as he turns around he sees Sunjae calling on a pay phone. Minchul's phone is ringing and he takes the batteries out. Minchul is watching him. Sunjae leaves a message for him to "get here"...Yonsoo's sick. Then Minchul watches as Sunjae goes back to Yonsoo. Music still playing, Minchul walks out of the hospital.

Back to Yonsoo, she's sweating and he's wiping her brow. He's practically in her face again and he's talking nonsense to her. She calls out Minchul's name. A tear rolls down his face and then he wipes Yonsoo's face with his fingers.

Narae and Sena come running. Sunjae tells them Minchul should be coming soon. Narae is surprised he's not already there because she called him as soon as she got the call. Narae, realizing it doesn't look like he's coming or he'd be there already thinks aloud that Yonsoo lies to her everytime, in other words things aren't going good for Yonsoo and Minchul. With those words Sunjae takes off after Minchul and smoochie, you covered their encounter.

Sunjae comes back to Yonsoo's room and Sena is beside her. Yonsoo did wake up but is now asleep. Sena asks Sunjae if they could go get something to eat, she hasn't eaten anything. Sunjae tells her no, he's staying with Yonsoo. Sena storms out of there.

Narae and Sena are sitting on the floor in the hallway. Sena tells Narae she hates Yonsoo and it's all because of Sunjae. Narae now knows Sunjae loves Yonsoo. Well all I can say to that is it doesn't mean a thing to Yonsoo.

Minchul enters a sleeping Minji's room. He pauses to look at Yonsoo's painting. Minji wakes up and is horrified to see Minchul's beatened face. His only words to his sister are for her to not see Yonsoo anymore. Then he walks out telling her he's tired and wants to be alone.

Minchul leans against the wall in the hallway looking at the ground remembering Yonsoo's words to him. "I'll be satisfied being happy only occasionally as long as I can be with you. I don't care as long as you're by my side. So don't feel burdened. I'll make you happy. I'm not thinking about that. I'm not thinking about you. I'll follow your fate."

I know that if Sunjae wasn't at the hospital, Minchul would have been beside her, what a shame for it to end like this.

Sunjae and Yonsoo are on the hospital grounds sitting on a bench. She is in pajamas, an in-patient. Sunjae is talking more nonsense to her and then tells her that her heart will follow his heart someday. To this, Yonsoo looks at her ring touching it. Sunjae covers her hand with his and Yonsoo instantly tries to yank her hand away. He doesn't let her.

As sick as she is right now, he talks his talk about him and her. He never quits. Is this the time and place for this? He may be going for it now smoochie, but it's not working. She's not switching. It's all for naught.

We see Mimi in her office shaking and holding Jang's tape recorder. She just heard Jang's trap that he laid out for Sunchun making him spill the beans. Sunjae walks in and Mimi hands him the recorder. He turns it on and listens, then covers his ears. Now Sunjae's world will come crashing down too.

Good Morning BD Family emoticon

I watched episode 18 and its another bad one. I can't really post on it, because I didn't take notes, its just and overall feeling of sadness, for everybody.

After Sun Jae heard the tape that Mimi played for him, where Sunchun basically admits his part in his father's death, he runs to the house in a daze. He gets his mother and tells her she has to go with him. She has no idea what's wrong and he doesn't tell her. He just tells her that she has to leave that house. Myungja is confused and scared for him. He's adament about it, but is too overwrought to explain. Min Chul drives up on this scene and I think he realizes that Sun Jae knows the truth. He's erratic and on the verge of hysteria. His mother is trying to find out why, but he runs off when he sees Min Chul. Min Chul goes to her to try to comfort her and he tells her to let Sun Jae go. He knows this would be too much for her to bear. She can't find out from Sun Jae in the way he'd tell her here. I don't know what would be a good way to hear this information, so maybe it doesn't even matter.

This is a very emotional scene. Min Chul gets to see what horror his father has brought to these two people lives. Myungja doesn't know the extent of it yet, but she knows something is terribly wrong, just not what it is. In case Min Chul didn't feel guilty enough, coming upon this scene and seeing Sun Jae's state, would certainly do it. I'm sorry for all of them. Sunchun is a monster who destoyed all of their lives. Not one of them got off scot free. Even his own children are going to pay the price.

I have to go now, but I'll be back. emoticon

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Hello BD Family emoticon

I have to really feel for Sun Jae here. He's just found out something so horrible. I, myself, believe he over reacted to the news that Sunchun was not his real father. I get that it may have been a surprise to him, but he was, for the most part, raised well. I thought that he should have been grateful to a man who raised him as his own son after his father died. With only that information, I thought he was way overboard with his anger and need to separate himself from not only the rest of the family, but also from his mother.

This however is a whole other thing. To find out that the man who raised him, murdered his father has to be more than he can bear. He goes over the deep end and I don't blame him. Min Chul goes to see him and he's understandably rude to him. He asks Min Chul's why is he there, is he worried about his father? Min Chul tells him that he understands and he wouldn't try to stop him no matter what he plans to do. He has one favor. Could he just give him a chance to get Min Ji out of Korea? Sun Jae says no. He's in no mood to grant favors. Min Chul apologizes to Sun Jae and it was a heartfelt apology. He's saying he's sorry for many things, you could just tell.

What interests me is when Mimi tells Sun Jae that he has to get revenge, he tells her basically to mind her own business. I think he was trying to hold off on any action to give Min Chul a chance to get out of town with Min Ji. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit, but I think so. I don't see how he'd turn Sunchun in before he tells his mother the truth, so that may have kept him from taking action too.

These are very powerful scenes. This only gets better and better and worse and worse. emoticon

I have to go, but I'll be back. emoticon
