Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello BD Family
Talk about driven!! I'm still at work so I can post this. I can't go home until I do! I am crazy. No doubt in my mind.
I want to talk about the scene at the mausoleum, between Yon Soo and Sun Jae. She's the only one with him. Obviously there's nobody else in his life. Where's Sena and Narae? More importantly, where's Mimi, the one who started all of this? I know no love was lost between her and Myungja. She was in love with her husband and then according to what Mimi told Sena, he married the naive girl, (Myungja), after she'd been with him for so long. So I guess she's not in mourning.
Sun Jae places a picture of him and his mother on her grave site. As soon as they walk away Min Chul arrives to pay his respects with a bouquet of white flowers. He talks to her in a quiet and respectful tone. He tells her his father didn't grieve for his mother like this, when she died. He loved her far more. He says, she knew that, didn't she? She also knew this was the worst possible punishment for him, right? He places the flowers for her. Sun Jae was wrong. Min Chul did place flowers on his mother's grave. Had things not come to light, would he have? We'll never know. It had to be hard for him to admit that about his mother and his father's lack of love for her.
Yon Soo and Sun Jae are sitting outside at a cafe table. He tells her his mother wanted to be cremated, because she couldn't lie beside either husband. She wouldn't like being in such a small place. She'd rather have her ashes scattered on the sea, but he just couldn't bring himself to do it. When he wants to see her where would he go? It would be too hard on him. He says he's a bad son. His mother told him not to regret anything, but he's regretting everything. If he'd known, he'd have buried the past for good, if she could've been saved, he could have pretended not to know. Its too late. He could've ditched it all. He says, he hates himself for driving her to the edge.
Yon Soo tells him its not his fault. His mother wouldn't want him to suffer like this. She says, he should consider it an inevitable choice for her. He tells Yon Soo he misses his mother so much.
Min Chul is still inside and is passing a wall of windows and sees them sitting outside. He takes a moment to watch Yon Soo. He looks so sad. She looks up and sees him. He goes away quickly and she follows him with her eyes. She doesn't say anything to Sun Jae. He suggests going to say goodbye to his mother and they go inside. He finds Min Chul's flowers. He must wonder who left them. Min Chul's in Paris, as far as they know. Yon Soo turns and sees Min Chul from the back, he's walking away. She goes to find him. She stops in every alcove. She goes from place to place, but doesn't find him. She turns back and we see him watching her walk away. She goes back to where Sun Jae is standing still holding the flowers. Of course, being Sun Jae, he looks resentful and betrayed. She apologizes to him. She says, "I'm so foolish, behaving like this, even though I know he's gone. I'm sorry." Sun Jae's only response is to say, "Let's go". They leave, he's still carrying the flowers. Min Chul watches them leave.
A couple of things here. Sun Jae didn't care if he never saw his mother when she was alive. Now he misses her? The poor woman couldn't even get her last wishes, because it would be too hard on him. This is one selfish little creep.
Are he and Yon Soo here on a date? What is he jealous and resentful about? If Min Chul had shown himself to Yon Soo, what could he do? He knows they love each other. He's been emotionally blackmailing Yon Soo since the very beginning and at his mother's gravesite is no exception. He looks so pissed, she feels the need to apologize to him. Why?
I know I should feel more sympathy for him than I do. He's been through a hell of a lot lately, but I just don't like him. I also feel he was totally manipulated by Mimi. Mimi had her own fish to fry and she absolutely used this dumb kid for her own purposes. She got even with everyone at once through Sun Jae. Meanwhile, his mother's dead.
I'm going home now. I won't come back to work until Monday, but I am going to go to my sons house if I can to read posts and to comment. If anyone ever told me how disconnected I'd feel without my computer, I'd never have believed it.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
Your thoughts on this scene are my thoughts exactly smoochie. The maturity factor between Minchul and Sunjae is so strikingly different, still. Yes, Sunjae was wrong about Minchul bringing flowers to his mother's grave because he shows up and pays his respect. If her death was from a different reason, would he have? I believe he would.
Yonsoo is with Sunjae again and he wants her shoulder to cry on. I can't use the word "needs" here. He's self serving. He can't bring himself to scatter her ashes in the ocean, her wish, because where would he go to see her? When Myungja was home in their house, he didn't bother to go see her. He calls himself a bad son. I agree. He delivered that awful news to her about Sunchun and then leaves her to her own fragile self. He doesn't stay with her for any length of time, he just hit and ran. If he knew then what he knows now he wouldn't have told her anything. My thought is if he had to tell her, then he should have been prepared to spend some time with her to see her through it and not send her home alone. He is a bad son.
Sunjae has Yonsoo by his side once again because he called her and told her to help him. So here she is. He misses his mother. His mother missed him after he left the house for good but he wouldn't even come to visit her. Remember that awful last dinner together where he had her crying so much she couldn't eat? Now he misses her? Too little, too late.
Sunjae has gone through a lot in his life but so has Minchul. Minchul was resentful growing up and even as an adult. But when he found out the truth of all those lies, it has all but destroyed him. He knows he can't make amends and it haunts him. He tried to make peace with Sunjae but Sunjae will have no part in it. Minchul has practically disowned Sunchun and left the company because it grew out of someone's blood. He has left Yonsoo, the woman he loves. All of this because he doesn't feel worthy, doesn't feel proud and feels a great deal of guilt when it comes to Sunjae.
Sunjae could very easily put it all in perspective for Minchul and himself if he wanted to. He doesn't want to. He wants to harbor his hate and selffishness forever and he still wants Yonsoo no matter what. I'm not talking about Sunjae's hatred for Sunchun, that's understandable. I'm talking about his relationship with Minchul. I've always felt Sunjae was spoiled and my opinion hasn't changed one bit.
I hope you'll be up and running soon smoochie. I was without internet service yesterday and it's a real bummer. I'm going to rewatch this episode over the weekend and I'll be back.

Hello BD Family
I miss you all so much!! I feel so disconnected being without a computer at home all weekend.
Jasy, I agree and disagree about Sun Jae.
I get his being angry and disappointed with his mother for the choices she made. I think everything being so brand new to him, he was angrier than he was just finding out that Sunchun wasn't his biological father. I'll never get why that was such a big deal. Being the kind of parents they were you know nobody sat him down and tried to console him, especially not Sunchun. I still think he over reacted to that news. But I think he'd have done better with some kind of family conversation on the subject. But we're talking about this family. What am I thinking??
Finding out that his father was murdered by the father who raised him had to be devastating information. I think that had he waited to tell his mother, it may have occurred to him how inconsolable she'd be and also the ramifications of knowing what she now knew. I think, again he's selfish and thoughtless. I think he's not a really bad son, but a spoiled son who made bad choices too.
Min Chul is a whole different man than he'd have us believe. He's definitely feeling guilt and remorse for the coldness he treated mother and son with. We have to remember he was going on what he knew, and I for one give him a pass. Sun Jae may have eventually given him a pass too, if it wasn't for him resenting him more over Yon Soo than how he was treated growing up. He knows too that Min Chul was under a misconception. If he wasn't such a weenie, he'd have to understand. He'd rather remain an enemy than try to make amends and move on.
I've watched further, but can't post all now. I can't wait to get my computer back. I'M GOING NUTS!!!!!!!!

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Afternoon BD,
Good to see you back smoochie! I can imagine how hard it is without a computer.
The reason I think Sunjae's a bad son is not because he told his mother about what Sunchun did to his bio dad and the end result although that was very bad, sending her home alone. It's because he walked out on her. Yonsoo made a birthday meal for them, called him up and told him to make his mother smile on this day, and what does he do? He makes her cry and more lonelier than ever.
The little wimp couldn't even wait until after she had a meal with him and tells her he's walking out of her life before she even gets a spoonful of soup in her mouth. And then she cried at the table.
I can't forgive that even though Myungja did. He could have told her he would stay away for a while until he can accept all that went down but he didn't. He told her he would get on her nerves sooner or later and he'd become a bad son so he was walking out of her life ahead of time. Wiping his hands clean of her. Why? She didn't tell him the truth of his bio dad because she got caught up in Sunchun's lie. He was the boss. Sunjae is a man now. This is his mom who loved him and doted on him. How can he be a good son if he walked out on his mom for good? He can't. That kind of son is the worst of all. Not to mention how he handled things in telling her the awful news about Sunchun...
Tonight I'm going to watch more of the episode and I'll be back.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Sunchun is now in a downward spiral. He's at home drunk and getting drunker by the minute. Myungja is gone from his life now and he is truly alone. Minchul was right when he said Myungja's leaving him is his biggest punishment.
Sunchun is falling all over himself and Minchul has come home and is watching him. He takes the bottle literally out of his mouth. He asks him if he wants to drown in his guilt, if he wants to pass out drunk. Minchul tells him he can't, he has to suffer just like he caused others to and if he avoids that, he's too shameless. Sunchun asks him if he wants him to hang himself or jump in front of a truck. He wants to know what he should do.
Minchul says he couldn't manage to even do that because if he has a conscience, he'd have done it long ago. He walks away from Sunchun totally disgusted.
Minchul is back at Victory Records on the computer. He's reading the company special detail inspection. "Victory stock sudden fall," Victory Talents Move To Muse," "Meet Sena, the Star from Muse." Minchul sits back in his chair resigned to all these facts. There's no fight left in him. The company has gone belly up.
There are men in suits standing outside the doors in deep discussion and a sign hanging, "Closing - Victory Record." TM is looking at the sign and cries, saying she feels especially sad for the director. The other women workers are standing beside her all in tears.
Narae and Yonsoo come by and stand with the women. Narae tells them the President avoided jail time but ended up a social outcast. Yonsoo wonders how he's doing. Narae says he has no money and his children are abroad, there's nobody to help. Yonsoo wonders if Minchul heard the news. She thinks it's good that Minchul left because otherwise he would have gone through some bad experiences.
Yonsoo is looking past the door that is slightly ajar and she's deep in memories. She sees the vision of Minchul walking through the store with his aides and father and his quick smiling glance at her while always keeping in step with the others. Yonsoo has tears again but a small smile.
Everyone says good-bye to each other and leave. Narae will see Yonsoo at home. Yonsoo is left standing there alone. Across the street is Minchul standing still and staring at Victory. He never sees Yonsoo. He begins walking as does Yonsoo, both on opposite sides of the street. She crosses over and is walking a little distance in front of him. She gets on the down escalator and Minchul walks down the steps almost right next to each other. Minchul is looking very depressed and Yonsoo does also. They are both very quiet and deep in thought. They get on the subway almost standing with their backs to each other. He gets off and she stays on. Minchul has no car now, right?
Minchul is back home and hears Minji's words to her father, "eat, please eat." She's trying to feed her father but he's not cooperating. She's frustrated and angry at him. She tells him if he gets sick they will be stuck caring for him and asks why he causes trouble and makes her angry.
Here comes another reason why I like Minchul so much. He is such a take charge person and knows the right thing to do. He doesn't wimp out. He tells Minji to wait outside. She tells him they should have left, who cares if he ends up in the street? Minchul says "I said to wait outside."
Minchul sits by his father and asks why he isn't eating. Sunchun has no appetite. Minchul tells him to force himself because there's no point complaining to them. Minchul tells him they don't respect him enough to tolerate his little complaints.
When Sunchun holds his head Minchul grabs his hand and puts it on the spoon forcing Sunchun to take a spoonful in his mouth. Almost immediately, Sunchun begins to cry. Minchul looks away...
I have to say that if I were ever in trouble, I'd want Minchul on my side and beside me. He has such a proper and authoritive presence about him that there never is a question about his maturity and doing the right thing. However awful his father is, now that Minchul and Minji are back home, Minchul at least expects him to eat and would be forceful if need be. I really like this trait in Minchul, notice how he told Minji to leave the room when he saw her trying to feed him and he wasn't cooperating only making Minji more upset.
Sunjae on the other hand with his mother...
Minji's packing Myungja's belongings into boxes when Minchul comes in and sits beside her. He tells her not to be so hard on dad because he's not normal. (another keen observance by Minchul about his father.) Minji tells him she gets mad just looking at him. It was tolerable for her when he was yelling and shouting but now he's so quiet.
Minchul's watching what she's doing, "Mother's belongings?" Minji tells him yes, but she can't pack much. She pauses and takes a breath.
Minchul always observant, has zeroed in on Minji, closely watching her. He pulls her close to him and holds her. They look like two lost souls. He's patting her back and her face is buried in his shoulder.
Minchul delivers their mom's box to Sunjae because Minchul thought it proper to do so. Opening the lid, Myungja's photo is right on top. Minchul's not looking and Sunjae closes the lid.
Sunjae asks Minchul what happened, wasn't he supposed to be living abroad? Minchul doesn't answer, just looks down. Here we go again...Sunjae tells him Yonsoo thinks he's still there. Minchul says to let her go on believing that, it's best. Minchul is glad that Sunjae seems to be coping okay. Sunjae says he has no choice. Minchul looks at Sunjae for a while and then tells him to take care and leaves.
Yonsoo is at the art studio all alone. This scene was very well done, no words spoken but boy, does it say a lot!
Yonsoo is looking at her drawing of Minchul. She slowly runs her fingers over his eyes, his face and looks at his picture intently. She's feeling his eyes with her fingers and closes hers. She touches his hair, his chin, she opens her eyes and she touches his lips very slowly. She remembers Minchul posing for this picture and sees his lips.
Yonsoo sees Minchul putting his hand on her face and kissing her while they were in the flower heart in the hotel suite. Her eyes are closed again and when she opens them, a tear rolls down her face.
Yonsoo continues to touch his face slowly, all over, when yup! Sunjae comes up behind her. He's watching what she's doing! After watching this very private and intimate moment between Yonsoo and her drawing of Minchul, Sunjae touches her back and calls her name. He asks if she was drawing.
Yonsoo looks at Minchul's portrait and tells him she was drawing Director Lee. Sunjae just stares.
Yonsoo - When will his face fade from my mind? I thought I could remember him longer.
Sunjae - Why torture yourself? You should forget him, not try to remember him. It's only making it tougher. You won't see him again. Let him fade away. Just leave it to nature.
(This is why I despise this guy. He's not only a bad son, but he's a bad friend)
Yonsoo - Don't concern yourself about me. You're going through so much. You must be tougher now than before. You must be realizing you're alone now.
Sunjae pulls up a little stool and sits next to Yonsoo.
Sunjae - I'm not alone. I have you by me. I think I'd understand. I understand you better now. You and I are in the same boat. I won't feel anxious. I'm the only person to protect you now. I'll wait patiently until you accept that fact.
Yongoo doesn't answer him but turns her head and looks at Minchul's picture.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
I just have to say something here again...When Sunjae was standing there watching Yonsoo in her private moment with Minchul's drawing...imagine the nerve of him to stay standing behind her back and keep watching what she was doing? This moment was so personal. Wouldn't you have backed up quietly and left? I would have. Would you still try to get the person to love you anyway after seeing this? How could anyone with an ounce of pride still go for it?
I liked how she reacted when Sunjae tapped her on her back. To reach the area where she was, he had a small distance to walk to her so Yonsoo knew that he saw what she was doing. Yonsoo had no embarrassment or excuses in what she was doing knowing quite well Sunjae saw her. Yonsoo's love for Minchul has no shame.
Imagine after seeing with his own eyes where Yonsoo's heart is, Sunjae has the audacity to tell her that HE'S not alone, he has her by his side. The arrogance of him telling her he's the only person to protect her now. He gives himself a good dose of undue and unwanted importance in her life. Blah!
What kind of man is Sunjae that will still forge ahead for a woman's affections after he saw with his own eyes her yearning for Minchul? Doesn't he realize it takes two to form a couple? Doesn't he get it still that Yonsoo has never loved him? Why in the world after Yonsoo and Minchul broke up would she hop on over to Sunjae anyway?
I know Minchul told him to let her go on thinking that he's abroad. So what? If Sunjae was a true friend to Yonsoo he should have told her Minchul didn't go anywhere after considering the fact that he sees how much she is suffering.
Or else since we all know how much Sunjae listens to and follows Minchul's every word (blah!) the worst he could have done was to not say anything at all about him. Who asked for his two cents anyway? Yonsoo didn't.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello BD Family
I've been missing in action for a few days and I missed this place. Still no computer. I'm at work and its hard to post from here.
I want too agree about Min Chul being mature. He grew up isolated and alone. He separated himself from the rest of the household members, except for Min Ji. He grew up fast to be her protector and his own man. If you're a kid, you can't be your own boss and Min Chul wanted to be his own boss. I believe his father stopped trying to tell him what to do a long time before he was of legal age. He took over his own life and tried to be responsible for Min Ji too.
The scene where Min Ji was trying to get her father to eat was interesting. She was losing her cool with him. When Min Chul came home and took over I was very, very impressed by how he handled the situation. He asked Min Ji to leave the room, before he spoke to his father. He showed his father the respect he didn't deserve by having her leave them alone. As pitiful as Sunchun looked, Min Chul wasn't impressed enough not to tell him to pull himself together. That they didn't care enough to tolerate his little complaints. I like his character and the kind of man he is a lot. He's in charge.
I think its admirable of him to take care of his father. I know he's the last person who deserves to be taken care of by his children, but it says something about Min Chul and even Min Ji, that they're willing to do it. He was such a bad, bad father to them. He can't even take credit for the wonderful way that Min Chul turned out. Min Chul groomed himself. What he CAN thank himself for is making his children lonely and angry and bitter. The fact that they're still speaking to him, goes to their credit, as far as I'm concerned.
I really feel badly for him. He's lost everything and he has his sister and crummy father to take care of. Its all on his shoulders and he has to put himself out there and try to earn a living, leaving behind the life and existence he was used to. He also has to swallow his pride and job hunt. I really feel for him. Luckily, he was never a person to brag or act like he was above others, or now he'd have people coming out of the woodwork applauding his and Victory's downfall.
I'd like to go into Sun Jae and his ridiculous behavior. Suffice it to say he's a weasel and a creep. I agree he could've told Yon Soo that Min Chul hasn't left. What, he's honoring Min Chul's request?? I highly doubt that. Its more like he knows he's got a clear field with Yon Soo, with Min Chul out of the way. The fact that she's pining and grieving for Min Chul doesn't faze him. He's like the little engine that could, chugging along. The only difference is, he's not going anywhere. Yon Soo loves Min Chul. I find this guy despicable. His mother's death is his new excuse to attach himself to Yon Soo.
I can't stay here, as much as I'd love to. I have so much to say and little time to say it. I'm at work.
I'm probably not going to have my computer tomorrow either. Its very, very upsetting.
I'll be back.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD Family
Wow, I feel like I've been away forever. Still no computer, so I'm taking advantage of my employer's time and posting this. So wrong!!
Sun Jae intruded again on a very private moment. Yon Soo's looking at Min Chul's portrait and reminiscing and here he comes telling her she has to try to forget him. How's this his business?? Its not!! She tells him he's going through so much, he shouldn't worry about her. She's missing the whole point here. He's not worried about her. He has his own interest at heart, not her's. He wants her to forget Min Chul not because it hurts her to think about him, but because he thinks if she forgets Min Chul, he'll stand a chance. Fat Chance!!!
He's telling her they're both in the same boat, alone. He's alone. She's not alone. She has friends for support. He'd love it if they were in the same boat, as he said. He thinks that he's the only person who can protect her now. More emotional blackmail!! He tells her he'll wait until she accepts that fact. She's good. Too polite to answer. But that's been her problem with him all along.
I want to say how terrible Min Chul looked at the closing of Victory. He stood there looking dazed and confused. Very, very bad day for Min Chul. It was something to see he and Yon Soo take the same path, the same subway and relive the same memories of a past subway ride. They'd made a deal that time. They never saw how it would work out. What if they'd seen each other? Would he have been open to her? We'll never know.
Min Chul is searching out investors and having no luck. It must be hard for him to be in that position. He's not used to asking for help, but he's gracious.
Sun Jae gets a call from his doctor friend who treated Yon Soo at the hospital. He tells him she needs some follow up exams to see about her anemia. He asks Sena if Yon Soo suffers from anemia and she says, she did during high school, but she's better now. He still seems concerned.
Min Chul is waiting to catch a glimpse of Yon Soo outside the art school. She comes out, but doesn't see him. She gets on a bus and he watches her go. She's looking out of the window and catches sight of him. They make eye contact and she gets off the bus. She's running frantically trying to find him, but doesn't. She finally collapses in a heap on the sidewalk. He's watching her. She looks desolate. He approaches her and puts his hand on her shoulder. She turns to face him. They're both speechless for a moment. He's a brand new Min Chul. He looks uncertain and a little off balance, but his love for her is right there in his face, no mistaking it. But, not the confident man we're used to. This whole thing has taken its toll on him.
They're in a cafe and very subdued, each with their own thoughts. She tells him he looks different. He does. She asks how he's been. He tells her it was very chaotic, as she can imagine. Her eyes are full of tears. She asks about Min Ji. He says she's doing better than he'd expected. She asks about his father. He tells her he lives with them. She says that's good, he is their father after all. He tells her he's not the same man, he's fragile, after what happened with mother. She says he must've been shocked too, right? She knows he felt guilty about her, but she thinks mother understands how he feels. He asks how she's been? She says, okay. His eyes are full of tears now. She asks did he come to see her. He looks down without speaking. She asks, "You did, right?". He can't look at her, he says, "sorry", he knows he shouldn't show up like this, it'd only make it harder for her. He says, he keeps on making mistakes. He only wanted to see her from afar to see how she was. He just wanted to know she was fine, that's it. She says she knows that he worried that she might grab him again, right? She won't so he shouldn't worry about it. No matter where they are, doesn't change the fact that they're separated. They'll think of today as a coincidence. People run into each other casually all of the time. He says, yes he thinks so too.
At this point they're both fighting back tears. She says she's happy to see him. He finally looks up at her and says, he too is happy to see her. He looked into her eyes when he said it and he's sincere. He puts his head down again. He's very choked up throughout this whole conversation. He almost doesn't even have control of it. Yon Soo of course has tears flowing the whole time and just goes with it, but Min Chul is having a hard time suppressing his tears. He couldn't look at her, or he'd have lost it.
I have to say, this was a very touching and hard scene to watch. I think the acting was right on target too. LBH is very good at the suppressed emotion thing. He's basically mastered it. He cries, I cry.
I think I've taken enough of my employer's time and have to go now. I'll try to come back.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
You're right smoochie, Yonsoo isn't really alone because she has friends. Sunjae on the other hand doesn't really. I doubt he can call Mimi a friend and he's pushed Minchul and Sena away and there isn't anyone else around for him though if he asked, Sena would be there in a minute. Sunjae thinks he has Yonsoo all figured out but he doesn't. The silliest thing in his thinking is because Yonsoo and Minchul have broken up he will get her next eventually. I don't know why he would think this. Yonsoo has never thought of him as a love interest from the beginning and she still considers him only as a friend. He has got to know this. Well, he does but it doesn't matter to him.
Yonsoo and Minchul's meeting was so sad to watch. Here are two people who love each other so much but can't be together and Yonsoo seems to have accepted it now. Her tears show what she really feels and Minchul knows she's trying to be brave. He's really trying too. I'm glad he can now at least sit with her and talk, that way they're not completely out of each other's lives.
I felt sorry for Minchul when he told Yonsoo he keeps making mistakes. He's so down on himself. Minchul has broken Yonsoo's heart right along with his own.
LBH's acting is always so good and true to real life so much so that it never even looks like he's acting. CJW is right up to par with him too. I would love to watch them together in another drama or movie again. I hope that's a reality.
I like how Yonsoo asked about his father and told Minchul that it was good they're together because he is his father. That was a good thing for her to say to Minchul because Sunchun is a big source of pain and shame for Minchul. I wish Minchul could see that life just goes on anyway. I wish he hadn't pushed Yonsoo away. Watching them together and their reactions towards each other makes you wish that Minchul would give in to his feelings and try again with her. It's all too sad.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning,
What's rough to see is Minchul without that hot car of his. He's lost everything and has to start from scratch but he's up to it. He's already meeting investors.
Sunjae will stay at Jung-hun's place until he comes back from his studies. I must have missed something there because I don't know what studies Sunjae's talking about. He's unpacking and Sena is helping him. Though Sena is available Sunjae never confides in her.
Sena finds her ring and chain that was given to her by Yonsoo long ago in Sunjae's suitcase and is surprised he still has it. She asks if she can have it back and it's fine with him. Sena is all smiles. It looks like Sena has come around a bit and has left some of her issues with Yonsoo go. That's good.
The doctor calls Sunjae because he thinks Yonsoo is his girl. Sunjae goes along with it. No surprise there. The doctor is concerned because he asked Yonsoo to come for a checkup but she hasn't come yet.
I wonder how much time has elapsed when Yonsoo and Minchul meet up again. With her asking him about Minji and Sunchun it seems like maybe a few weeks at least have gone by. Minchul looks very content sitting with Yonsoo now. It's almost like you'd expect him to want her back again. Very civil and feeling. Notice how he stares at Yonsoo with teary eyes. He's not over her by a long shot, their meeting is so sad. Either Minchul stares at her or looks down.
Yonsoo at home with Sena and Narae after her meeting with Minchul. She's sitting on the bed quietly sobbing as they do all the talking. Narae asks her if she got Minchul's number. Yonsoo did not, she said she wouldn't be able to resist calling him. Narae wants to know why she can't just call him. Pretty logical to me.
Sena on the other hand thinks that's absurd because they wouldn't be separated if she could call him. True... They bicker a bit back and forth and Sena asks Narae if she knows what love's golden rules are. The one who loves more has it harder calling, much harder winning and harder being happy. Yonsoo is listening and wiping her tears. Narae looking at Yonsoo tells Sena she's right and says Yonsoo is the perfect example. I don't know, I think maybe Yonsoo AND Minchul are pretty much tied with that golden rule.
Sena asks Yonsoo what Minchul is living on since he's gone belly up. Yonsoo doesn't know. She said she had a lot to ask him but couldn't think of a thing because she was worried he'd just leave.
Next morning Yonsoo and Sunjae are on the roof. He wants her to visit the hospital with him. He tells her she's supposed to get another blood test. She doesn't want to because she says she knows she has anemia. Sunjae wants her to go anyway and she does go with him.
The guy who let Sena live with him for 5 years comes to see her. He saw her appearing on TV singing and was shocked to see the success she has made of herself. Sena is not happy to see him and acts annoyed towards him. He doesn't like that one bit and it angers him. After her not so nice hello to him he decides he wants money. It's either that or he'll tell everyone she lived and worked at his cafe. With those words, he storms out.
Yonsoo's results are in and they're worse then the last test the doctor tells Sunjae. What is Sunjae, her father or something? Is she not an adult?? The doctor hands the results to Sunjae. All her levels have lowered and she needs a more thorough exam. Sunjae reads the results and looks worried. He meets Yonsoo outside the hospital where she's waiting for him and tells her nothing is wrong. He tells her she's just weak and needs admitting to get a complete physical. Yonsoo asks him point blank if she's sick. Sunjae tells her they won't know until she has a physical.
There's a bit more to this episode about how Minchul is going about making a come back. He talks to investors. Across the table from one, the investor has doubts since Victory went down. He doesn't give up or give in. Minchul asks him to invest in him, not Victory.
Minchul meets up with his long time aide and I think it's Kumsuck's manager over a few drinks. He asks them if they would come by his side and work with him again from the bottom. They happily agree and they all make a toast. Things are looking up again.
Minji gives Yonsoo a call and they meet up. Minji has turned into such a nice friend to Yonsoo. She asks about her and Minchul and Yonsoo tells her that she just saw him a few days ago near the studio. Minji tells her he went there to see her.
Minji gets a call that her father has disappeared from the house. She's upset and has to leave. Yonsoo goes with her. They're standing outside the house when Minchul appears. He's back in his very serious mode again. He looks at Yonsoo and asks why she's here. He doesn't like it one bit. Yonsoo tells him she was with Minji. Minchul walks off to look for his father.
Minji, meantime has gone off searching for Sunchun and finds him. He's very drunk and staggering. Minji yells at him and walks with him and keeps slapping him and pulling him along as they're walking and takes him home. It's very sad to see this and Yonsoo is watching.
When Minchul comes back, he looks like the angry Minchul again. He tells Yonsoo not to come around anymore and to stay away from Minji. He tells her this is how he lives now, taking care of Minji and his father and he has no time for anything else. It's like that nice little talk they just had days before never existed. I think he feels enormous shame that Yonsoo saw his father drunk like that and the way things are now and this is how it all ended. Minchul has nothing and has nothing to offer Yonsoo. He has to walk now wherever he goes, he has no job or career. It's such a reversal to how he once lived. Minchul is simply filled with shame. Yonsoo on the other hand doesn't care about what Minchul doesn't have now. I mean she cares, but she loves him even if he doesn't have anything. All she needs is him.
