K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD,

Great pictures in that interview smoochie. Notice how she leans into him in the last shot. The YouTube clips are great too. We're almost done with this drama and I hate to see it end. The good news is we can watch it all over again whenever we want. Emceema, how about joining in and taking this to the end with us??

After the movies Minchul takes Yonsoo to an outdoor picture booth even though he doesn't like taking pictures. Yonsoo asks why he came here and Minchul tells her it bothered him when she said they haven't taken any photos.

Minchul enters the booth first and reaches for her arm and pulls her inside. Sitting with his hand on her shoulder, he's choosing the settings. There's different frames to pick from and without hesitating he chooses the heart frame that says I Love You below it. Their pictures will be inside the heart and his choice of this frame says how he feels towards Yonsoo.

With everything set to go he points to where they should look into the camera and he gets the giggles. He probably can't believe he's doing this mushy stuff for her and he's acting embarrassed and covers his eyes for a few seconds. He can't control himself. So funny to watch him. Yonsoo is too sad to join in though.

After Minchul gets a hold of himself they both look at the camera and smile but Yonsoo's is more like a grin. His hands are on her and he's leaning in close to her with heads touching.

For the second photo Minchul wants a toothy smile from her so he puts his fingers on the corners of her mouth showing her that's what he wants her to do. They both smile big smiles and they're done.

Outside the booth Minchul is holding the picture and he's looking at it with Yonsoo. He's getting a kick out of it and he's laughing and can't take his eyes off the pictures. Imagine something so simple and common having such an emotional impact on Minchul. It has to be the first time he's ever taken a picture with a girlfriend but I'm also sure she's the first girlfriend he's loved. There are two pictures, I figure one for him and one for her. Yonsoo though pleased with the picture, is looking more at him than the photo. She's trying to figure him out.

The day is just about over now and Minchul is walking Yonsoo home. They're almost there as they walk slowly, Yonsoo with her hand through his arm. He tells her that it's inconvenient without a car but there's one good thing, it takes longer to see her home. Waiting for the bus, riding it and walking together is like a little trip. How does the writer come up with these words? Perfect! Minchul says going on a trip it's not important where you head or what you do but who you do it with. He tells her that to him, she's the one he wants to travel with, be it on a little trip, a lengthy journey or even a difficult journey. Clue, clue, clue. Did he say that on purpose so she'd know he knows or was it a slip? Yonsoo looks at him. Minchul looks at her and asks if he would be someone she'd go with? Yonsoo hangs her head and doesn't answer. I think she knows that he knows.

They reach her door and she says she'll go in. Yonsoo is awfully quiet and calm. Minchul tells her he'll pick her up at work tomorrow and he'll see her home daily from now on. She smiles and says good night. As she's going in, he's watching her with a little grin on his face. Once she's inside, his smile disappears and a look of worry covers his face and he lowers his head for a few seconds. He's overwelmed with grief. He sadly walks off.

Yonsoo is sitting up on the roof deep in thought when her phone rings. It's Minchul. He asks if she's home safely. Yonsoo looks like she's about to cry but tells him yes.

Minchul is walking along the street just off from Yonsoo's place and he tells her he's on his way to the bus stop. He just called to hear her voice again. He tells her to speak so he can hear her voice. He listens and he stops in his tracks.

Speaking very softly, Yonsoo tells him that she was really happy today but sadness dogged her and her heart too. Tears are falling from her eyes. She thinks she knows why he was being so nice. Minchul is quietly listening. That's why she didn't want him to find out she tells him. There are tears in Minchul's eyes and he's upset for her. Yonsoo tells him she feels just awful and begins to cry into the phone. She hangs the phone up and Minchul slowly closes his phone. He stands there for a few long seconds and then he starts running to Yonsoo. Their music begins...

I thought it was a sad ending to a near perfect day. But the night isn't over yet and Minchul isn't done with her yet. He goes to her. Yonsoo's figuring out that Minchul knows of her illness is a good thing really. No more secrets and now he can help her with her fear and pain. All is not lost is the way I see it.

I don't think he wanted her to know just yet that he knew but I think he blew his cover when he mentioned a "difficult journey." She was wondering all through the day why he was doing these things with her but those words of his capped it off for her I'm sure.

Now Minchul has to talk one on one with her and comfort her. He can do it, he's the only one who can. Sunjae was wrong when he asked Minchul what can he do for her. He underestimated their love for each other. Minchul will lead her and be the strong one. She can lean on him and he'll guide her every step of the way. He's strong enough and in love enough to do it.

There's more to come.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD Family emoticon

A great wrap up for that episode, Jasy. emoticon

The picture taking is so uncool. Not something you'd imagine the old Min Chul doing, right? Well, this is a new and improved Min Chul, one who would do anything to make Yon Soo smile. There was a time in their relationship where he was calling the shots and where he was selfish with showing his emotions. He always loved her, but he couldn't open himself up to her in a way that she needed. She stuck it out with him in spite of that. Somehow she could read his heart, without his being able to express to her how he felt. She'd have done this forever. She loves him that much, as frustrating as it had to be to only get glimpses of his love for her. She always knew he loved her.

The new Min Chul doesn't have the luxury to only think of himself. Without even giving it any consideration, from here on out, its all about making Yon Soo happy. Even if it means exposing himself and his feelings to her. This is something he's never been able to do for her before. Now its just second nature. She loves him and she needs him. End of story. He's going to show her that he loves her back and she's not alone. The silent, brooding Min Chul is gone for good. His heart is wide open to her now.

That's what Sun Jae didn't get when he told him he couldn't do anything for her. Yon Soo is full of fear and anxiety. She could die. No matter what happens, it'll be easier with Min Chul at her side. He'll never let her down again. He's had to put his pride aside and be there, again no matter what happens. This is his gift to her and to himself. Narae was right in saying, that he'd go crazy later, when he found out. I'd be interested to hear what he'd have to say to Sun Jae if that happened. Sun Jae, who overstepped his boundaries by saying that to Min Chul. How did he get to determine what Yon Soo needed, or who? Whom? He tried everything to be the one, but its almost like, aside from trying to be a friend, he was an irritant to her. She would probably have been sort of grateful to Sun Jae if he'd been the one to Man Up and tell Min Chul the truth. She may've felt he finally, really had her best interest at heart. Instead, he was deciding what she needed and didn't need, according to his own selfish agenda. Remember in the hospital when he was the last word in having her released to go home? He must've felt so powerful right then. Plus, he got her out of there before Min Chul came back and found out the truth. Which he would have, if he'd seen a blood transfusion. The other thing is how he'd have to watch how much she loves Min Chul and how much he loves her. He doesn't ever want to see that. Sun Jae was very, very misguided and that's putting it nicely. The excuse, "But, he loves her." doesn't wash with me. She doesn't love him.

I was sad that the day ended the way it did. But, relieved too. She said she was happy that day, though she didn't look happy. She felt guilty and sad, because she knew why he did, what he did. The only thing she didn't think of, is that Min Chul, though a good man, wouldn't be there in such a huge way, unless he loves her. I'm also grateful its all out in the open now and he'll never desert her. He has the chance to actually declare himself and his love for her now. That's what Min Chul can do for her. No small thing. Just what the doctor ordered. Not an almost doctor, but a real doctor. emoticon

The first scene in the next episode says it all. Its very touching and real. We'll get to that soon.

I'll be back emoticon

Anyeong Hasaeyo! Good morning BDF emoticon

This is a bit late but HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!

Just came back from a 14-days cruise to Central America two days ago and still adjusting to walking on land. LOL!

Smoochie, Jasy: So we are now in my favorite last few episodes. I love those dating scenes! This should have been in the beginning episodes. I love that scene where Minchul gave a cup of hot chocolate or coffee (?) with a heart-shaped cream on top, their his and her t-shirts and and the picture-taking scenario. But when they parted that night, Minchul gave himself away when he called back Yonsoo and told her that he just like to hear her voice one more time. Yonsoo knew for sure then that he knew her sickness. So he ran back to her and hugged her tight. I couldn't remember the dialogue but I think Minchul said he will never leave her alone from then on.

So, how have me and Jasy been doing without you? Not too bad, right? But, you are still the undisputed Queen of Beautiful Days to me. How many times have you watched this? I still thank you for introducing me to this drama and more than that Lee Byung Hun!! I'd never payed much attention to him before seeing this, but once I did it was all over for me. He's still the best, at least in my humble opinion. emoticon

Thanks for coming back to us and try to hang out. Its almost over and the really good parts are coming up. emoticon

I think he's drinking to us and our fan loyalty. What do you think? emoticon

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD Family emoticon

I started to watch episode 22 and as far as scenes go, the first scene is another great one. emoticon Very sad, but cleansing. Finally everything is out in the open, between these two. Yon Soo telling him she didn't want him to know, opened the door for honesty. Once he hears her admit this on the phone he rushes back to her.

He finds Yon Soo sitting outside, crying. He goes straight to her, without a word. He hugs her to him his hand covering her head, her face buried against him. They stay that way for a long moment. Finally, he cups her face and looks into her eyes. They're both crying now.

He tells her to listen carefully to what he tells her. He doesn't want her to feel sorry for him, because he's thankful. Now he has a reason to stay by her side. Until now he believed letting her go was best for her, but not anymore. Now he knows how much she needs him, that no one can take his place, so he can stay beside her without guilt. She did him a favor.

She tells him that he's having a tough time, without her added to his problems. She asks, does he want her to be part of his burden? She says she can't do that. She doesn't want to. He asks her, "Are you going to forsake me?" He says he can't do anything without her now. He'll go insane if she's not with him. Does she want that? She tells him she might die. What if she dies, leaving him behind. She'd be too sad. She can't do that. He tells her not to say that. She's not going to die. He says that even if she does, he won't regret his decision. He reminds her that they swore they'd be together to the end. When she made that promise, didn't she mean through good and bad, through sickness and health? Didn't she? "You meant to stay, no matter what, right?" He says he meant the same.

He tells her their days together may be a week, a year, or fifty years, that's not important. What counts is they'll be together till the end. She tells him she wanted to bring him happiness. Life had left him all scarred and she wanted to heal him, so she wanted to be with him. But, this is... She puts her head down. He lifts it back up and looks into her eyes. He caresses her face and tells her she can still do that for him. He asks, "You'll make me happy, won't you?" He promises his twenty four hours are her's now, what's her anxiety? He tells her she has lots of time to make him happy.

They're looking into each other's eyes. He tells her to only think only of the good things. They'll be together forever. "Forget everything and think only about us, aren't you happy?" Her face is all scrunched up and tears are running down her cheeks, but she nods, "Yes." He pulls her to him again and cradles her head. She cries against him. He's crying too, but he asks her to trust him. He says he'll make her laugh. Her body may hurt, but he'll make sure her heart is always smiling. He's still holding her to him and says, "Leave everything to me." They stay that way. Him holding her to him, his chin on her head and her arms around him. emoticon

In the next scene we see them at the hospital. All that Yon Soo needed was Min Chul to give her hope and make her want to fight. With him life would be worth fighting for.

He thought he was letting her go for her own good. He felt he had nothing to offer her. His presence was all she needed. Even without this illness, all she wanted was him, no matter his circumstances, but he never got that. It was his pride that got in the way. Now he knows that what she's going through is much more important than his pride, plus she needs him to be there for her. That erases the idea that he has nothing to offer her. He has himself and he comes through, big time. He promises to make her laugh. The stern, serious, emotionally unavailable Min Chul is gone. He's willing to go all the way and make her laugh. He's going to show the extent of his love for her, no holds barred. He doesn't have the luxury of being the old, cool Min Chul. This is a brand new Min Chul, who has opened himself completely to her. Its a beautiful thing!! We get to see it unfold. The awakening of Min Chul's heart. Being able to show Yon Soo life is worth living, if its with him. emoticon

I forget who, but didn't somebody tell him if he couldn't help her to stay away? Maybe Min Chul can't read an X-Ray or test results, but he knows better than anybody how to read Yon Soo's heart. Don't you think? emoticon

This was a good scene, like I said cleansing. Now they can work together at being together, being happy and trying to get Yon Soo the help that she needs to get well. All of the past misery is gone. They have a rough road ahead, but they'll travel it together. emoticon

I have to go now, but I'll be back. emoticon

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Hello again emoticon

I had to come back, because I thought of something that makes me wonder.

Why do either of these people, Min Chul and Yon Soo both, believe that if they stay apart they won't feel each other's pain? Did Min Chul think that by leaving her, she would just forget about him and not hurt for him and what he's going through? Was she supposed to say to herself, "Well, he left me, so that's that. Whatever his problems are, are not mine." Is that what he thought would happen? Wasn't she suffering for him, even more from afar? Doesn't he know that? He was willing to hand her over to Sun Jae, without really meaning to, because he thought he'd be better for her. He had to know that Sun Jae, if he could, would replace him in Yon Soo's life. I said, If He Could!! Min Chul, as much as it hurt him, was willing to do that, because he thought he had nothing to offer her.

Yon Soo was miserable and hurt over his rejection. Yet, once she found out about her illness, her decision was to let him go. Did she think that once he found out about it, he'd say, "She's very ill and may die, but I decided to break up with her, so that's that. Let Sun Jae help her. I can't." Is that what she thinks would've happened? Loving each other has no part in this? Being apart gives you immunity from the pain in watching your loved one suffer? How did she think he'd react to finding out, after the fact? Did being separated from someone you love mean that you stop caring about what happens to that other person?

What the hell were they thinking!!?? emoticon

I may be done now. Or, maybe not. emoticon

Click on this for a real treat!!

I wouldn't give this guy up so easily, would you?emoticon Yon Soo is always being snuggled up to that body. Not bad, Huh? emoticon I'd just go with it.

Thanks for the picture, Jasy!! emoticon
