Good Morning BD Family emoticon

Min Chul has come to the conclusion that he needs to be the one there, when Yon Soo faces any discomfort. We see the Min Chul that we're used to here. He sees a problem and immediately acts upon it. He must have had a bad night, knowing she was feverish from her medication and he wasn't with her. He's taking charge. It comes so naturally to him.

We see them running through the streets, hand in hand. Yon Soo has no idea where they're going, but old habits die hard. She'd follow him anywhere and always has. He takes her to a churchyard and stops before a statue of the Blessed Mother. Yon Soo has no idea what they're doing there and is standing watching him. Min Chul kneels and clasps his hands. He's saying he's never been taught to pray, but today he's praying for him and for his Yon Soo. "Please give her reasons to smile always and let the crying end now. Grant her good health and happiness." Yon Soo is standing, watching him and its all in her eyes, her love for him and how touched she is by his prayer. He goes on to say, "Lastly, have her accept my proposal." She's been looking down until now, but now she looks at him in surprise. She never saw it coming. He does this familiar, arrogant Min Chul (or LBH) thing with his head. He looks up at her, his eyes smiling, and says, "Let's get married." She's still speechless. emoticon

He's standing before her now and is putting the diamond ring on her finger. She's surprised to see the same ring she threw in the fountain at the airport and starts to ask how he has it. He tells her that he checked at the airport and that the coins are sent to UNICEF, but the ring was seen as valuable and was kept there. He says he has the ring and wants to honor his promise. She starts to interrupt, but he stops her and says he wants to do this as soon as possible. He doesn't want to waste any time. He asks if she realizes today is the youngest day of his life? The only thing gained by waiting is age. He laughs at that, but its sort of a nervous laugh. He asks, "When's good for you?" As though he's just asked her to lunch. She asks him to give her time to think. She says she needs to think this through. She starts to remove the ring, but he grabs her hand and stops her. He's calm and confident when he says, "You already said yes, remember?" He doesn't let go of her hand. They're standing facing each other and looking into each other's eyes. emoticon

This action on Min Chul's part tells me that he sees the need to be with her all of the time. Being used to being in control, this is what he wants and acts on it. He wants to be there for her all of the time. This is for himself as much as for her. Though he feels she needs him, he needs her just as much. He loves her. This is not done out of charity, but love. He's a man who knows how to make things happen and he wants Yon Soo to be his wife, so he's trying to make that happen.

Yon Soo loves him and wants to be with him. I guess she's thinking of her condition deteriorating, for her not to say yes immediately. Her hesitation is something that Min Chul understands. He knows her and knows that she sees this as a burden for him. She should know him better. She'd know that he's a man who loves her and nothing having to do with her is a burden for him. The only burden would be not being at her side when she needs him. The night before, when she was sick and they weren't together, sealed the deal for him. After speaking to Narae and knowing she was ill, must have made for a sleepless night for him. He decided what he had to do and did it.

Okay, I'm going to repeat myself. I love these two and their scenes together. I have to ask why and when he went to get the ring at the airport? Did he do it with the intention of, someday giving it back to her as an engagement ring? I can't see him as someone who would care about the money value of the ring. They were both miserable that day when they said goodbye. He was leaving the country for good and she had accepted that they wouldn't be together anymore. So why did he think to retrieve the ring? Did he do it after he decided to stay in Korea? Or after he found out about her illness? Once he knew he couldn't be apart from her anymore? I can't imagine him doing it that same day. He was too desolate that day. Anybody? emoticon

I have to go now, but I'll be back. emoticon

Did you say you want pictures? Okay. Next post. emoticon

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD,

I always wondered when he got the ring back too. I know why he got it back though, it belonged to his Yonsoo.

Minchul was watching Yonsoo from above when she tossed her ring. They just got done talking and Yonsoo told him she had decided to leave him. I always thought he never expected that. He couldn't look at her and he was leaning over the railing trying not to cry while supressing his sobs for real I might add. It was very noticeable. I still wonder why when Yonsoo called him and asked where he was because she was at the airport, he got all fidgedy. Even Minji noticed. He runs through the airport to find her and coming down the escalator when they finally met up, he was clearly happy to see her. I still wonder if he was having a change of heart.

I don't think he had time to retrieve the ring at that precise moment. When he finally walks away from the railing he went to look for Minji. He wanted to get on the plane. In Minchul's absence, Minji calls Kumsuk to say goodbye but is told the news about their father. She's so upset she runs out of the airport building and Minchul chases after her.

It would have taken too long to get the ring back immediately after she tossed it. Either he could have had to walk into the fountain himself and gotten his pants all wet which he never did, or he'd have to ask security. There was no time for that.

I'm so taken with the way Minchul is with Yonsoo now. It's all about her and what she needs. He knows she needs him. And he knows he needs her. He's right in moving it along. What's the point in waiting? He did some heavy thinking the night she had the fever while he was sitting in his darkened apartment leaning against the wall after talking to Narae. Come morning, he knew exactly what he was going to do.

I loved the scene when he entered her studio and put his hand on her forehead feeling for any signs of a fever. Like he said, she said yes to him once before, and it was when they were in that fabulous suite kneeling inside his heart of roses. Being that Yonsoo is sick now, what more fitting way to propose again than to kneel before a statue of the Blessed Mother. He did it once the romantic way and now he sees it fitting to do it in a spiritual way. He prays before her that she'll have him once more.

I loved it when he said to her "you already said yes." He'll keep his promise now.

Great pictures smoochie! I really don't want this to end. Maybe we should start all over again...

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning,

Yonsoo comes home with Minchul's ring on her finger and she's sitting on the bed with Narae. Holding the ring in her fingers while looking at it intently, she has doubts. Their conversation must have been going on for quite a while because Narae wants to know what there is to think about, just set a date.

Yonsoo tells her it's not so simple. She looks so sad at a time when she should be jumping for joy. Everything always comes so hard for Yonsoo and it seems that she can never be quite fully happy, there's always a barrier of some sort.

Yonsoo tells Narae if they marry, Minchul will have too many memories with the wedding, the photos and the honeymoon. She thinks those memories will be much too painful to erase. Narae wants to know why he should erase those memories.

Yonsoo has the saddest look on her face and tells Narae she knows what she means. She wants Minchul for herself while she's living and she wants him to think only of her. But if something were to happen to her, she wants him free of her. As it is, she tells Narae, there already are too many memories and she shouldn't create more.
I think Yonsoo should take her happiness with Minchul and run with it but that's not what she wants to do. I understand. Yonsoo thinks to have him go on with only memories would be too cruel. Narae tells her not to be foolish, that he won't be left by himself, not to worry. In my opinion, if she doesn't marry him, he'll be left with worse memories and regrets. Tears are rolling down Yonsoo's face and I feel sorry for her.

Minchul's at a meeting with his aides and Team Manager but he's not really there. He's deep in thought, head down and he looks sad. He's thinking about his Yonsoo.

His aides are talking about college days and how they were hip back then and how managers must be hip too. Team Manager asks Minchul if he ever went to college festivals? Minchul doesn't hear her because his thoughts are elsewhere. She waves her hand in front of his face to snap him out of it. She asks if he's worried about something and he says no, and he's sorry. Just then his phone rings and it's Yonsoo. She asks if he will come by after work? He'll be right over. Immediately he gets up and heads out, in a hurry I might add.

Yonsoo and Minchul are sitting across from each other in a cafe. Yonsoo is leaning forward and Minchul, looking at ease is sitting back in his chair.

It's interesting to note that when Minchul was at the office, he looked sad and worried. Here, sitting in front of Yonsoo he looks at ease and confident. It's an act. He has to be strong and confident for her. He has to be in charge and ease HER worries. He really does a good job of it everytime he's with her. But when alone, I think he's scared.

Minchul - Are you done thinking about it?
Yonsoo - Yes
Minchul - You set the date, right?
Yonsoo - Sir, well...I am happy with the way it is now. (Minchul wasn't expecting that answer) I can see you whenever I want and hear your voice when I want to. I have everything I'd hope for.
Minchul - Yonsoo...
Yonsoo - We didn't mean to get married this soon anyway. I have to finish school and you just started your company. We both have lots to do, marriage would be a big stretch.
Minchul - Your school and my work, we can do them after we're married.
Yonsoo - I don't think I can handle it. (Minchul is just looking at her, surprised) I'm not well enough, I'm not confident I can do it.
Minchul - (without a moment's hesitation) I'll help you. It won't be different than now.
Yonsoo - When my illness progresses, I won't be the same. I'll look haggard, and will get cranky. (for this reason alone, I understand her hesitation in marrying him) I don't want you to see me like that.
Minchul - That doesn't matter to me. (he leans across the table and takes her face in his hands looking directly into her eyes) You'll look beautiful to me no matter what.
Yonsoo - It will bother me Mr. Lee. I'm happy as is. So let's just remain as we are.
Minchul - (HE decides for her immediately, takes his hands off her face and sits back in his chair) No, I have to get married. I want you by my side twenty four hours a day.
Yonsoo - You make me nervous rushing the marriage. I won't go anywhere. (she's smiling at him) Don't worry.

With those words, Minchul looks at her in a way I can't describe. Surprised at her determination? Hurt? Can't quite believe what she has just said? Does he think he lost her again?

Minchul can't drag her to the church or can he? He needs a plan. They're almost there...husband and wife if only...

Yonsoo laid it all out for him and he's still wanting to go the mile with her. That's how much he wants her, how much he loves her. None of it matters to him except being together, just like he said. I can understand her though. What bride would want her groom to see her at her worst, and he will see her like that. But she fails to realize that Minchul's love for her is stronger than any of that. He wants to be right beside her in good times and bad. Maybe she'll have a change of heart still.

This is getting good, but it's always getting good. And what a story this has been! Have we seen the last of Sunjae??? LOL We're almost at the end. Maybe he went back to school...no? I hope so...

Hello BD Family emoticon

I love Min Chul when he says, "No, I have to be married." He reminded me of the Min Chul I know and love. In charge. In control. That's why he looks so surprised at her refusal. He's not used to Yon Soo refusing him anything. The look on his face? It was a combination of hurt and "ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Disbelief!!

Both of them have come such a long way together. I don't get either of them though. Min Chul broke up with her, because he had nothing to offer her, he thought. He had so much misery in his life he didn't want to make her suffer along with him. My question again is, did he think their not being together would make her suffer less, watching from afar? How lame is that? emoticon

Yon Soo, when she found out about her illness, wouldn't tell him, because she didn't want to add to his misery. Did she think that he wouldn't be miserable when he found out how sick she is, even not being with her? Would he feel less miserable watching her suffer from afar? What she fails to realize is, Min Chul is going to be there on those bad days, married or not. Lame!

So, if she doesn't marry him, will he really have less memories of her? Will he go away when she starts to look haggard, if they don't marry? Is that what she thinks she wants? More importantly will he go along with that? Not the Min Chul I know and admire. Right here at this point in their relationship, there's no turning back for either one of them.

I'm happy someone saw the light and took the bull by the horns. emoticon

Sun Jae, yes the inappropriate Sun Jae. Until the last possible second, he'll still whine and say things better left unsaid. But, that's Sun Jae. emoticon

This is a great scene, but they all are. Thanks Jasy, for the update. emoticon

I'll be back. emoticon

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD,

I think these are some of the best pictures of LBH and CJW ever taken and they were even hotter while setting up for the poses. They took many pictures together this day and I think getting the pose just right was more fun for them than the outcome.

I think Yonsoo has a valid point about not wanting Minchul to see her as she gets weaker and more sicker. Just think about it. There's a lot she'll have to endure in her sickness as time goes on and that will make her more sad and I'm sure embarrassed that he has to see her like this. It's not like they're a long time married couple, they'd be newlyweds just starting out together and it should be the happiest time of their lives, not the saddest. Yonsoo also sees the farther picture too, her illness will be piled on top of Minchul's already full agenda and she doesn't want to be a burden to him.

Yonsoo knows once she marries Minchul, her problems become his problems. And her problems right now are big ones. But Minchul is no dummy. He knows what to expect without her telling him. He still wants to be by her side no matter what. He knows his presence will help her. Remember what he said to her when he first found out she was sick? They were up on the roof and she was crying and he said that now he knew that she needed him. There was no turning back for him from that point on. His mind is made up and when Minchul's mind is made up that's pretty much it.

When she speaks to Narae of Minchul being left with memories of the wedding, photos and honeymoon, I feel she's all wrong on this. What's better than to have those beautiful memories erase all the heartache. There needs to be some kind of balance here especially for Minchul. With no wedding there would be nothing to offset the misery they both went through for so long. Minchul's able and willing. There's nothing he can't do or accomplish if only she'd give him the chance.

Narae will have to come to the rescue again, she's not called a best friend for nothing. I say, leave it all up to her. Does Minji know that Yonsoo's sick? I forgot.

Good Morning BD Family emoticon

Jasy, I know what you're saying about them being newlyweds, but my thought is, married to her or not, Min Chul is going to witness all of what her illness will bring. Whether or not they marry, he's not just going to go away. He's going to be there for her no matter what she says. He's going to see her get haggard and cranky and feverish. Once they opened that discussion it was pretty much settled. Min Chul is there for the long haul.

That photo shoot is great, isn't it? It shows how familiar they are with each other. There's no embarrassment between them, even though some of the shots are pretty intimate. I think they look beautiful together. She's gorgeous. He's gorgeous. What's the down side? There is none. emoticon

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD Family emoticon

In the scene where Min Chul proposes, for a second the old Min Chul emerges and its fun to watch, for me at least. As soon as he put the ring on her finger, he puts his hands in his pockets as though he'd just accomplished something. Its a very familiar gesture. He looks so self-assured. The last thing he expected was for Yon Soo to turn him down. The look on his face says it all. He's speaking to her and is very confident that his plan worked out as he'd hoped. One of the funniest things I ever heard him say was, "When's good for you?". He's trying to act casual, as though there's no question about it happening. He sees her hesitation and thinks this is the way to convince her. His eyes change immediately when she asks for time to think. Only his eyes, though. He stops her when she starts to remove the ring and reminds her that she's already said yes.

Her talk with Narae was heartfelt, but misguided, as far as I'm concerned. Min Chul is not going away, married or not. Narae knows this, even though Yon Soo is in denial.

At the meeting with his staff we see he's not as confident as he would have Yon Soo believe. He's only there in body. When he gets her phone call, he's on his feet and gone in an instant.

At the cafe', she tells him she likes things as they are. He's trying to talk away her doubts and fears, but in the end it doesn't work. He winds up looking a little stunned and in disbelief. She's made her mind up. She doesn't turn him down completely though. She just doesn't want to rush and tells him she's not going anywhere. This is not what he wants to hear, but he doesn't know how to change her mind.

This is the time when we all need a friend like Narae. She's not going for Yon Soo's reasons not to marry him. She knows that she's better off with him at her side, than without him. None of what Yon Soo talked about made sense to her. So she decides on a plan of action. She gets Min Chul's assistant (name?) to get involved. She calls a meeting of all interested parties. Min Ji. She knows Min Ji loves Yon Soo and would be happy to see them together.

Narae explains to her that the reason for this meeting is to set up a wedding plan for LMC-KYS. Min Ji is confused, so Narae spells it out for her, Lee Min Chul and Kim Yon Soo. Min Ji is still confused, she knows they broke up, so what's this about? She's told that she probably hasn't been talking to her brother lately. Min Ji's surprised and happy and asks if they're back together? Narae confirms it and says they're talking about marriage. She says, she'll represent Yon Soo, but she needs Min Ji to head Min Chul's side. She tells her this must be kept top secret. Min Ji doesn't get why it has to be a secret. Narae explains it'll be their present to them. Doesn't she want to give her brother a gift he'll remember for life? Of course she does! She's in!! emoticon

I know I backtracked here, but I watched those scenes over and couldn't let them go. Especially the proposal itself. The acting in this was so good. Both of them were on point. The scene in the cafe' was another example of LBH/CJW at the top of their game. We see a lot of this in this drama.

I promise to move on, but I couldn't help myself here. When he put his hands in his pockets, it said everything the actor was trying to convey. Such a simple gesture, but right on target. emoticon

This is the beginning of a happy time. We know it doesn't last, but we should bask in it while we can. emoticon

I hate to see the end of this drama coming, but it is going to end sooner or later. What is it about a drama we love? We hate to let the characters go. I want to see their children and their children's children. What's wrong with me?? Am I the only one?? emoticon

I have to go, but I'll be back. emoticon

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning,

Love that photo shoot! It's interesting to note that with this couple, they not only shot the photos for the fans to see, but they released the "making of" tape also. This shoot was very interesting to watch because LBH and CJW were having fun doing it. And it shows, doesn't it?

I agree smoochie, Minchul is going to be there whether she marries him or not. It's just that I see where Yonsoo's coming from too. You're right about Narae, Yonsoo's argument doesn't make sense to her. Her thinking is that since they love each other and both are miserable being apart, they should get married pronto. I agree.

I think the aide's name is Kumsuk. Notice how he and Narae are always together but not quite together in the dating sense. He has a crush on her but he has his work cut out for him. Narae in a sense is very much like Yonsoo, hard to get through. Remember when he "stole" her first kiss? She clobbered him in front of everybody. A bit later on though, we'll see Narae give him a quick kiss on the cheek so there is hope for him yet. And much like Minchul, he's not going anywhere either. LOL

I love how the writers think up the most unusual scenes in this story. Who would ever do what Narae is about to do? Who would even think it up? And Narae work won't be done with just planning a surprise wedding either. Somehow, she has to get Yonsoo into a wedding gown. How will she manage that? You have to give the writers credit here again with the scheme they think up. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

If Narae didn't get herself involved with taking matters into her own hands, I wonder what Minchul would have done? Like you said smoochie, after their talk in the cafe Minchul was left stunned and in disbelief with Yonsoo's refusual. What was he going to do now? If I know Minchul, he probably will come up with another plan. And if nothing else works, he'll be beside her anyway. He's not going anywhere. He'll win one way or another. This is Minchul we're talking about here.

I hate seeing this drama end too. I think what makes a drama work really well is how well the lead actor and actress connect. And LBH and CJW connect very well...on screen and off screen.

I'll be back.
