Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD Family
Let me get back to the "good-bye date" just for a minute. Jasy brought up a good point and I wanted to expand on it. What was the purpose of that whole evening, again??
You'd think Sun Jae would've made it more memorable, wouldn't you? He could have taken her to a relaxing place, where they could have had a conversation, maybe some laughs. You know what I mean? What did he think he accomplished by taking her to that stuffy restaurant and isolating themselves in a private room. Was it supposed to be romantic? It wasn't!
Yon Soo said about three words and he made his "Woman I love" speech. Basically that was the extent of it. It was totally inappropriate for him to say that to her. At this stage of the game he had no right to have such illusions, not that he ever had a right. He obviously knew, before she did and before Min Chul, that they were getting married the next day. Was he trying to be sure she had her final shot of guilt? He was out of line to say that to her.
He says this is their last date. Somebody want to tell me, when was their first date? Is he considering the other times he ambushed her into spending time with him dates? If that's the case, this IS their last date. I'm thrilled and relieved that he can't do that anymore. No more "dating", Sun Jae style. Good thing, because he's no fun anyway.
Sorry, I know I'm beating a dead horse.
Later
She'll be dating this guy, from now on, exclusively. I'd definitely pick him. He is fun!
Okay, I'm really going now.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
I didn't realize that Sunjae had to know Minchul and Yonsoo were getting married the next day. Can you imagine? He takes her on a date? LOL For old times sake...to say good-bye...to let her know what could've been?...This meaningless gibberish is so important to him he puts a suit on and even leaves his back pack at home. All this on the eve of her wedding to another man, his brother. Sunjae tells no one else he's doing this either, he takes it upon himself to do exactly as he pleases with another man's woman. As usual.
Everytime Sunjae does something like this with Yonsoo, forcing his presence on her, he shows his lack of maturity and good sense. He forces her to listen to his whining and she barely talks. I think there's more important issues in her mind these days rather than Sunjae's what ifs.
The flowers he gave her was the weirdest thing he did. He takes them out of the trunk and hands them to her. Now she's supposed to take them inside so everyone can see. Of course the first question anyone would ask is who gave them to you? This guy has no pride but he has a lot of guts when it comes to Yonsoo and that's because she's so passive.
In real life, can you imagine a guy taking a girl he's in love with for one last date without her persmission I might add, on the night before her wedding to someone else and to a restaurant's private room no less? Sunjae is still the little pesty brother who made a nuisance out of himself trying to keep the two who are in love, apart. This is the big reason he's out of bounds here, he did his best to keep them apart countless times. Who needs a friend like that? And now in the midnight hour he's still forcing himself on her, still in her face.
I say, three cheers for Narae!! Job well done!

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello BD Family
Yes Jasy, it just occurred to me that he had to know about the wedding. He was there, so he must have gotten an invitation. How absurd was that dinner? Yup, a big boy suit and no back pack. Could he have at least warned her, so she wouldn't look so inappropriate in a fancy restaurant? No, because she probably would have declined. He knew that. That was always his modus operandi, throughout this drama. Remember the day he picked her up bodily and put her on his motorcycle? How out of line was that? Yet, he got his way again.
Can you imagine what she was thinking when he started the "Woman I love" thing? She must've thought, "Oh no. Please!! This again?" The whole evening was so dismal, you wonder what mood he was actually going for. He couldn't have thought this was romantic. Romantic and Yon Soo do not go hand in hand, except in his delusional brain. So what was he trying to accomplish? "Look what you're giving up?" Yeah, but look what she was getting!! No contest!! Move on Sun Jae!!
Speaking of moving on... Narae and Sena are plotting and stop when Yon Soo comes in. Narae asks about the flowers, assumes they're from Min Chul and Yon Soo lets her. Yon Soo sees her wedding gown hanging there and looks at Narae for an explanation. She removes a paper pinned to it and sees her wedding invitation.
At the same time, Min Chul is reading his. He looks up at Min Ji in surprise. She tells him he doesn't have to come if he's busy tomorrow. He asks if Yon Soo knows about this. Min Ji tells him Yon Soo's finding out, just about now. Min Ji's looking closely at him for a sign. Finally she asks, "Why? I shouldn't have done it?" Min Chul is still a little stunned and he shakes his head, no. He nods then and says, "No. You did real well." He grabs his little sister in a hug and thanks her. They're both beaming from ear to ear and she congratulates him. She tells him he has to be happy. He agrees. Its a great little scene. These two have really come far. They're both different people.
Yon Soo's still sitting on the bed reading the invitation, she looks touched. Narae's keeping her distance, she looks scared. She gets closer and calls her name. She sees tears rolling down Yon Soo's face and asks why she's crying? Yon Soo asks why she did this, but doesn't seem that upset, just sad. She says she told Narae she wasn't going to marry him. Narae, has her own ideas here. She tells Yon Soo that she doesn't care. If he suffers later, she doesn't care. She just want to see Yon Soo and Min Chul living happily. She reaches over and hugs Yon Soo and tells her not to cry or she'll be an ugly bride. Sena is sitting there quietly watching this, and smiling.
Yon Soo is outside on their little rooftop. She gets a call from Min Chul. He says, "Its me. We'll see each other tomorrow, right?" He tells her tomorrow, he'll be the first one waiting. From tomorrow, they won't be calling each other at this time of night.
Narae did well. Narae did very, very well!!
The big day is tomorrow and everything is in order.
I'll be back.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
Smoochie, I love that picture of LBH! I have a few more things that I just have to say about Sunjae. He's living in his own fantasy world. He knows Minchul and Yonsoo are together and about to be married but he wants to spend one last "date" with her anyway. He still thinks of himself in her life and that they were a couple and he lost. If he truly gave up romantically on Yonsoo at the hospital the day Minchul brought her in like he pretended to in front of Minchul, and decided to just be friends, this night wouldn't have happened. He never really thought like that though, because he still didn't want to break away from her. If they remained as friends, he could go on seeing her and Minchul after her marriage with get-togethers, no problem and no need for this silly date.
All of Sunjae's sneaky little tricks haven't worked. He lost big time. From the moment he first laid eyes on Yonsoo when she was walking to the house in the rain, he never stood a chance. She already had her eye on Minchul. When she found out that it was Sunjae who she met at the orphanage, it was like meeting up again with an old acquaintance. Nothing more. But Sunjae took it and ran with it. He made a big deal out of a chance meeting between kids. By the way, I love LBH in this role. I don't think anyone could have played Minchul like he does.
Narae took a big chance putting this wedding together. Imagine if Yonsoo refused to go through with it? She looks at her wedding invitation that Minji designed and she's touched, but sad. Minchul can't believe it. Minchul who is always in charge is speechless for once in front of his little sister! This is so fascinating to me how the writers came up with this idea of getting Yonsoo and Minchul to their wedding. I loved it when Minchul called Yonsoo and told her he'll see her tomorrow and he'll be waiting first. All she has to do now is show up. Will she?
Can you imagine if Narae and Sena knew where Yonsoo was for a few hours this night? Being wined and dined by Sunjae. And though Minchul doesn't feel threatened by Sunjae, I really don't think he would like it at all either. Sunjae's flowers...flowers are for Minchul to give Yonsoo, not his kid brother. A fancy dinner...that's reserved for their wedding day...words of love...only Minchul can speak them...a hug?...Yonsoo only wants Minchul's hugs. The big day is next and I can't wait!
I'll be back...

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD Family
I've always been, and still am amazed, that Sun Jae thought through all of this, that he gave Yon Soo up to Min Chul!! What universe does this guy live in for him to actually believe this? He's even had the nerve to say this to Min Chul at the hospital, when he told him he'd be watching him. The fact that he told him he'd better make her happy, imagine? My question is, what if Min Chul doesn't make her happy? Will Sun Jae step in and take Yon Soo away? Can He? NO!!! With all that happened between Min Chul and Yon Soo, even at the worst times, she'd prefer him over everyone and anyone, never mind Sun Jae. What gives this guy the idea she'd give Min Chul up for him, no matter how bad he was to her?
The night of the cherry blossoms comes to mind, when he called Min Chul and gave him and ultimatum and a deadline. "Be here at this time or else!" Does he still think that if Min Chul hadn't shown up it would've made a difference in the way Yon Soo felt about him? One way or the other, these two would've found their way back to each other, without any input from delusional guy. I don't even know what made Min Chul react and respond to this. He knew how she felt about him and knew that Sun Jae never stood a real chance with her. Maybe he just saw it as an opportunity to get back together with her, knowing where she would be at a precise moment. I thought, at the time, he shouldn't have shown up and let Sun Jae go for it. It would have had to wake him up from his dream state, once he realized that Min Chul or no Min Chul, he couldn't have her.
He was openly pursuing her right from the minute he saw her that night in the rain. He knew pretty quickly why she was in that house and yet kept right on, keeping on. Remember Min Chul asking her if she knew the real reason she was in that house? She knew right then he was interested in her and she was already interested in him. So, what was it Sun Jae didn't get? How many nights did Min Chul ruin his plans to get Yon Soo out on the terrace for a little chat? As soon as Min Chul recognized his crush on her, he stepped in to open this guys eyes that she's not for you, she's for me. He even took her away to show Sun Jae, "Yon Soo is not your woman!" He said these exact words. The next day Yon Soo told him she loved Min Chul. Still not enough? This guy needs to find a woman of his very own and let this go.
Countdown to the wedding and here he is dragging her around again. Shouldn't she be resting? She's got a big day ahead of her, but she doesn't know this yet. Sun Jae does, though. To the bitter end he behaves like a fool. I don't know about Yon Soo, but I'd have had as much as I could take at this point. She's a lot more patient than I am. A lot nicer too. Sun Jae would have gotten the message the night Min Chul came in and caught him feeding her, sitting on the kitchen floor. The look on his face that night said everything. If I were Yon Soo that alone would have made me keep Sun Jae at a distance. Min Chul doesn't like this. Go away!!
Well, we've got a beautiful day ahead, so I'm going to let go of this. Sun Jae will get his just desserts in a few short hours. I'll be satisfied with that, but he'll never get a pass from me.
I'll be back

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Good Morning BD,
The pictures are great! Very, very nice. Who would you choose, Minchul or Sunjae? I have to say something about Sunjae, again. By the way, what was that building Yonsoo was standing outside of in the rain? Anyway, Sunjae pops up out of nowhere and holds an umbrella over her head.
At this precise moment Narae and Sena are home with Yonsoo's wedding gown and the plan's in motion. They're on pins and needles waiting for her to come home. Minchul is on his way home too and little sister is waiting. The timing is very important. The day is over and both Yonsoo and Minchul will be in for a surprise when they arrive. So here we have Narae, Sena and Minji waiting for the both of them.
Meanwhile, along comes Sunjae who should have butted out long ago. Proving what a little pest he still is and being someone who has no further business with Yonsoo and knows about the wedding, he's waiting to intercept Yonsoo's going home. Why? Because he knows that once she arrives home and is told about the wedding and sees her gown he'd never be able to get away with going off alone with her somewhere or wisking her off on a date. How could he? It'd be absurb. It's absurb now. He has nobody to answer to doing it this way. So Sunjae prevents her from going home and takes her away on a date without telling a soul. He got his way. Narae would be horrified if she knew.
The night of the cherry blossoms when Sunjae called him and gave him the ultimatum, I strongly believe that Minchul went to Yonsoo simply to get back with her, NEVER giving a thought to or worrying about Sunjae's threat. When Minchul hung up the phone he was thinking and thinking. He was thinking about his Yonsoo. No doubt. No way with Minchul's personality being what it is would he go running scared that Sunjae will take her away from him. It doesn't make sense and like Judge Judy always says, if it doesn't make sense, it's not true. LOL He already had left Yonsoo so why would he now be afraid of Sunjae's silly threat? All this time, Sunjae could have had her by now. So Sunjae couldn't get her then so what made him think he'd have her now? LOL Does he think Yonsoo would be desperate or something? The only desperate person here is him.
When Minchul hung up the phone it was Yonsoo and only Yonsoo he was thinking about and deciding if he should go to her. If I better remembered the circumstances directly before this incident it would probably be even more clear why Minchul went running. I think through all of the bad stuff they'd been through Minchul just chucked it all, gave in and wanted to be with her. The urge to be with Yonsoo was too strong for Minchul finally to deny it any longer. Sunjae never stands a chance.
I'll be back.

Re: K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)
Hello again,
Jasy I believe you and I are in total agreement on this. The night of the cherry blossoms was after Min Chul got really disgusted of the whole Yon Soo/Sun Jae thing. He basically dumped her after the night she blew him off, because Sun Jae was whining. She left him and Min Ji sitting in a restaurant waiting for her. She knew what an important day it was and went off with Sun Jae anyway. Any other time was bad, but this was the worst. It was the straw that broke the camel's back. Later, when she tried to explain, the first thing she told him was that he was wrong. He was amazed that this was her way of apologizing! I think then and there, he realized that he'd never make her understand and finally just gave up on her. I don't think he knew how much he'd miss her.
The call from Sun Jae had nothing to do with his feeling threatened. It just woke him up to how much he wanted to be with her. He'd cut her off cold and she still was in shock over it. She deserved it. He couldn't hold out any longer, though. I still believe that knowing exactly where she'd be at that time was what made him go for it. Not that she was going to run away with Sun Jae. FAT CHANCE!!! First she'd have to have wanted to do that. She didn't. She only wanted Min Chul.
What made Sun Jae think that if he didn't show up, she would be his by default, I'll never know. Where did he get that idea? The only thing I can come up with, is that Yon Soo never told him to get lost in no uncertain terms. He took that as an indication that he could worm his way into her heart. Again I say, FAT CHANCE!!!
Well, we won't have to wonder anymore how to get rid of this pest. Narae took care of that. Wonderful friend, Narae!!
Later
Thanks to Narae, this is the guy she'll sleep next to for the rest of her life. I think its a really, really good choice!!
