K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Smoochie, there's nothing quite like wearing a necktie with an unbuttoned white shirt with the shirt tails hanging out. How does he pull this look off?? Just when I think I've seen his best pictures, you always surprise me with something better.

And the last picture...I have no more words for describing these pictures. One thing I can say for sure, the older he gets, the better he looks. He is doing something right for sure.

Hi Jasy,

I don't know what anybody else thinks about him. I know he has a lot of fans among the ahjummas. To me, you can keep all of these up and coming young guys. Most of them look like teenage girls to me. Only my opinion, I know. This is a man. I love his looks and I love him as an actor. His appeal is his manliness, and his talent, and his sexiness, and his smile, and his eyes, and did I say his sexiness?, his body, well you know......!

He's my number one hottie. Always will be. I know there are more handsome actors and I know he's not handsome in the traditional sense, but he's got it all, in my opinion. I'd take him over every other actor out there. In this country and any country you can name. Did I say I love him? emoticon emoticon Yes, he's getting older, but so am I. I see him as more seasoned, not older.

Glad you like the pictures. How about this one? A man's man!

Love him!! emoticon emoticon

Anyeong Hasaeyo! Good morning, BD! emoticon

Smoochie & Jazy: Thank you very much for hanging in here up to the last epi. I brought this drama for discussion but didn't have the guts to see it till the end. But I knew that the two of you will endure and have a blast talking about Minchul and Yonsoo forever, like our Suky and Jongnam.

I came here today to share that scene of Minchul crying his eyes out by himself, before telling Yonsoo the truth. This is one scenario that I will never forget. My memory bank is fading everyday but this picture will remain. Tears well up in my eyes just thinking about it. Unlike reality, k-drama always has a happy ending.

So, I'll come back again to say goodbye to BD! emoticon

Hi emceema,

You're the one who turned me on to this actor and I've been there with him ever since. I remember you and me discussing this scene. He was brilliant right there. No chewing the scenery, no emoting all over the place, just real acting. That is one of my favorite moments, aside from the sadness.

If I ever see him in something else where he doesn't do a good job, I'll always recall that one scene and figure he's just having a bad day, because I'll know what he's capable of as an actor.

Thanks for sharing this drama with me, many years ago, and thanks for sharing LBH too. emoticon

Come back and share the last moments with us.

 I missed this one.
Hope you all enjoyed it. Is the plan to go to Yellow Handkerchief next still in place? If so, does everyone have all the material they need?
Please let me know the plan

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD,

Emceema and ADwatcher! We sure missed the both of you here. I think I can speak for smoochie...we both absolutely love Beautiful Days as if you couldn't tell. We have enjoyed every single moment of it.

This is one of the more beautiful love stories of all and one of the most beautiful couples, Minchul and Yonsoo (along with Suky and Jongnam of course.) We're almost done but don't want to be done. Smoochie, should we start all over??

I have no idea ADwatcher what we will do next. Yellow Handkerchief is a very long drama like BB and I don't know who will be willing to commit themselves in taking it to the end.

K-Drama (SBS): 아름다운 날들 (Beautiful Days)

Good Morning BD,

Minchul's emotions have finally given way to his crying his heart out for Yonsoo. When he's done and thinks he's gotten himself together, he goes home. Unfortunately, his emotions are still on the edge. Yonsoo is sitting against the wall, eyes downcast and looking very sad. Minchul enters and she rises to greet him. He instantly takes her hand and sits back down with her.

Before them is Yonsoo's easel and it's blank. Minchul notices and asks her if she didn't paint? She couldn't she says. Minchul looks at her then and she tells him that usually the time flies when she paints but today she couldn't.

OMG...Minchul's face...He looks like he just got punched in the stomach...If Yonsoo won't paint, if she can't paint, that tells a lot to Minchul about Yonsoo's state of being. And it's a big blow to him. When she tells him that she looks completely depressed. Minchul leans his elbow on his bent knee and stares ahead too as he holds his hand onto the side of his face as if he's holding his face upright. And he stays in that position. He can't think of what to say. He doesn't know how to comfort her right now. There is no good news. He stays in this akward position not moving and just looking past her. I don't think I've ever seen Minchul like this anywhere throughout this drama yet. He has drawn a blank. But it's his look that got to me. His posture, the way he is sitting leaning towards her with this look on his face. Very unusual. Great acting!

Yonsoo looks at him and asks if he's going to ask her the results. Minchul is still in this same position, he looks at her and glances away looking at nothing, his hand still holding his face up. He doesn't answer her. She asks if Sunjae called him. Poor Minchul. He again doesn't answer and doesn't move a muscle. He is literally at a loss for words.

When Minchul finally looks at her, he glances down at her hands and instantly covers her hands with his. It's as if he's snapped out of it. Looking at her, he tells her that he heard leukemia patients go through many such episodes, that some of them do find a match but the donor refuses to give. He tries to ease her thoughts by telling her to think of this as a test, to think of this as a chance for preparing your mind. Yonsoo is looking very, very sad. She only looks straight ahead but nods her head.

Minchul wishes he could give her his marrow and "matter of fact, not just my marrow but my entire body." Yonsoo holds onto his hands and tells him it's okay, there are people in worse condition than she. She feels she was being greedy but she was hopeful while waiting for the result. She tells Minchul she wished the result came up much later.

Minchul and Yonsoo glance at each other then Minchul turns his face away saying he's hungry, that he didn't have dinner. He starts to get up but she pulls him back. She'll get it. Minchul says no, he'll manage. He quickly gets up and goes out the door closing it behind him. Of course Minchul was never hungry at all, he just had to leave her side for a moment because he's having a hard time holding in his feelings. Once outside the room, he leans on the wall and hangs his head. The music begins. And inside the room, Yonsoo's eyes well up with tears as she leans her head back against the wall as if in defeat. What a terribly sad scene this is.

Minchul has been so strong for Yonsoo all this time. Right now living with the reality that all he can do is wait just like her is hitting him very hard. All he is able to do but be beside her is to watch her getting more sick and depressed while waiting. I think her not painting on the easel may have set the mood for his downslide in front of her. It was the first thing he noticed after sitting beside her. That blank sheet of paper.

I was going to go on to Sunjae and Sena's talk at the river but I think that will be for another day for me. The Minchul and Yonsoo scene is just too heartwrenching right now. When Minchul came home, he thought he had it all together. He was wrong. He takes his cue from Yonsoo's demeanor and that easel. He knows what painting means to Yonsoo and she couldn't paint. Like you said one time smoochie, in a household, if the woman isn't happy, nobody's happy and I thought of that the moment I saw Minchul lean on his elbow with that look on his face looking into space. What great acting!

I'd like to know who told Yonsoo if anybody? I know Sunjae didn't. I know Minchul didn't. Is she just guessing the bad news by Minchul's demeanor? Was there a phone call from the hospital to her? I'm wondering if the most important words for Yonsoo to hear, that Sena's not a match were ever spoken to her. It looks to me as if the awful news has not been formally told to Yonsoo, it seems to be skipped over when Minchul speaks to her about leukemia patients. But I could be wrong.

You're right smoochie. LBH is the best of all with his acting skills. I believe the director tells him what he wants and then lets it all up to LBH to do it his way. He's an ace when it come to showing his feelings without saying anything. His expressions are always a story in itself. This last scene of him sitting beside Yonsoo with his one leg bent leaning on it and holding his face told a thousand words. He was absolutely wordless but we knew every word he was thinking. And if Yonsoo didn't know the outcome of Sena's marrow before, she definitely knew it now.

Got any pictures smoochie??

Good Morning BD Family emoticon

Jasy, I didn't read your whole post yet. I just wanted to add that I don't know who told Yon Soo the results either. I thought it was Sun Jae, but then we see it wasn't. Maybe she got her answer from Min Chul, when she asked him if Sun Jae called him? He looked so forlorn, maybe that's how she knew it wasn't good? I don't know and I don't think we ever know for sure. I'm going to watch that scene again to look for a clue.

Yes great acting by LBH, but I've come to expect nothing less. emoticon

I'm going back to read your post, but I noticed you asked if I have pictures. Do I have pictures? Do you know me at all?? emoticon
