Aloha K-DRAMA "OHANA" (it means "FAMILY' in hawaiian)": My name is lovelyhawaii; I reside in Los Angeles but am originally from Hawaii. I must say there is a huge following of K-Drama fans there in the islands. I went back to the isle two years ago and one of my sis was surprised that I knew some of the dramas that she watches. There really is a very huge "K-DRAMA" following. Because L.A. was ahead in episodes she wanted the low down on them; especially "EMPORER OF THE SEA". Being new to the "BOARD" I just wanted to tell all of you "THANK-YOU"!!!! I try to read every message on all the dramas that I watch. I try to watch all the dramas, even the ones with no English sub-titles but then I end up turning the channel. So even though I may not post any message(s) you can be sure I'll be here reading your messages. Now I got to go and post this message to the others......"ALOHA OE"(Good-bye).

YES, let's do get back to trying to plan something! I missed the gathering when everyone was watching BB. Most of us went on to watch PIH so it's only right that we should have another meeting now that PIH has ended(we can talk BB, PIH, ICS, or WHATEVER!)...

I think Tankerspark tried to get something going but it all kinda went 'poof'. Also, I think Tankerspark doesn't live to far from me so we could ride together. YOU THERE TANKERSPARK???

Any ideas (anyone) on where and when? Someone had mentioned Garden Grove. I know there is an enormous Korean area there. I had my first Korean BB there. It was great! Anyway, consider me suggesting Garden Grove area. Although I have no idea where to eat. I'm game for anywhere.

Let's discuss!!

Well Garden Grove and Buena Park (also close to the temple) both have a big Korean populations and some resturants. I saw a nice one next to the big Korean Supermarket and Paris Baguette Bakery(where they actually had a big screen playing scenes from dramas in the seating area when I was there). I will have to do a search and see if I can find any reviews, if anyone has any feel free to share them we could use the help. The first meeting was a lot of fun I hope we can do this again. : )

I don't think there are really any requirements other than a love of watching Kdramas.

If you are really young then you are really special to want to spend time with (mostly) older folks.

I'm quite sure my grandchildren are MUCH older than you. I enjoy talking to them (some times) emoticon

so I'm sure we'll all find things to say to entertain each other...

I know I'll want to talk about BB and about PIH and ICS and maybe even about River...

I'm soooooo NOT a 'planner of events' kind of person.

If we plan something perhaps it could be in May or June? Any thoughts? Also, any ideas on a good Korean place to go? Sometimes a restaurant cannot accommodate a large group OR they may not want a group to stay and stay and stay and stay..... They want you to eat, quickie visit and then goodbye!

The idea of a place that maybe is more on the 'take out/eat in' may work better for us. If we can find a place that has tables or something that we could push together.... Kinda like cafeteria style atmosphere???

But I am open to anything, considering I'm not good at this sort of thing. I'm more of a 'invite me to it' kind of person...

I did go eat at a K restaurant in Garden Grove. Someone else drove. But I was amazed at the HUGE Korean population/area where we went. Everything was Korean.... All the businesses. It was great. The restaurant we ate at was kinda expensive and didn't seem like a place you could have a gathering. More like booths...

Another place is called "The Corner Place". It is in Cerritos, very near the mall. On the corner of South and Gridley (or maybe South and Pioneer).. Anyway, the food is NOT as good but I did see they had a big room in the back to accommodate large groups. Only thing is they were just waaaaay too expensive.

SO... HELP... need a planner..... need ideas......
