Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
WOW! I'm so happy to see this many Korean drama fans in LA.
I just joined the forum and happen to be doing a research project on Dae Jang Geum (Jewel in the Palace). Would much appreciate it if you could help me out by taking my web survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=197173415398) or spread the word around :-) Thanks so much! Wish I could be at your fan meetings...

Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
Hi Everyone,
I would like to have our first planning meeting either Friday 13th or saturday (after 4 m) 14th.
The name of the restaurant is KaJu Soft Tofu. The address is 8871 Garden Grove Blvd. Corner of Garden Grove Blvd and Magnolia St. They have a long table that will accomadate atleast 10 people and we can have (an early) dinner there. In case any one is interested there is the "California Market" in this strip mall. They have a wonderful Korean Deli there.
AdWatcher has already said either day will work for him.
We need to:
work up dates
choose a place (somewhere they can accomadate 20/25)
what about "other stuff" [to be announced later]
As I already stated, Korean friends of mine, have given me names of 3 restaurant in Garden Grove that may be a good choice for us.
cham Soo Gol
9252 Garden Grove Blvd. G.G.
Light Town House
8902 Garden Grove Blvd. G.G.
Shick do Rock
9691 Garden Grove Blvd. G.G.
I plan on checking these restaurants out ... for price..... room to meet in....convience (how close to freeways). I am choosing Garden Grove because of the Korean population and it is not to far from me.
Please feel free to suggest restaurants in your area that will accomadate 20/25 and a room to meet in.
Thats all for now. Let me hear from you.

K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
Hi everyone,
Another gathering in place...yiipppeee. I don't know if I can make it to this one yet, but will have to get back to you.
Margaret, I went to Kaju Soft Tofu, it's good but the space is a little bit small. If all of us show up, I think that's the whole restaurant . This is the restuarant in the same plaza as the Jack in the Box in the corner right? They have a variety of tofu soups with little side dishes that you always see in the drams , and other dishes. I love their Kimchi Tofu soup...very yummy.
Another suggestion can be Tofu House, I don't know if you hear about it. I only went to the one in Cerritos/Lakewood (it has the same name but I'm not sure if it's in the same management ), but here's the address for the Garden Grove area: 9520 Garden Grove Blvd. A lot of my friends went to the one in Garden Grove, and they said it's big and nice. Each table has a little bell at the end for you to call the waiter/waitress if you need them .
take care.

Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
Hi Funniegirlie,
Hi and Good Morning world,
Thank you for suggesting "Tofu House". I am heading that way today and if I get a chance I will try them for lunch. The reason I was thinking of KaJu's is because of the long tables(a couple of the dinner tables put together)in the middle of the restaurant. Yep! Kaju is small, and it won't be private but as you said the food is good. If I can get 5 or 6 people to help out with "stuff" we can have a really fun time. BTW it is Baskin Robbins on the end. I dont recall a Jack in the Box. I will look today.
I will also check out the 3 restrurants I mentioned earlier and report on those here and at the meeting.
I do want to try and enclude KBS and the korean Times Harold. I am not shy. I want to know what is the thoughts and feelings about getting some of the media involved?
So what day is good? Friday or Saturday of next week.
M's
PS I can always get intouch with Theresa (Philadelphia) for some ideas.

Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
Funniegirlie: you are absolulty correct. Jack in the Box is on the Corner. I am so tuned to Kaju Soft tofu I miss everything else. I then go to the California Market and by then who cares. Ha Ha.
So it looks like Saturday the 14th. Kaju is very busy on Saturday. I dont know the Tofu house. Do you think that 7 of us can sit at one table there?
If so then, lets try Tofu House 952o Garden Grove Blvd. Garden Grove. and we meet at 6:30. Saturday the 14th.
If we are all in agreement I just need to know who and so far:
N. Sheldon
Funniegirlie
Adwatcher
M's
and who else?
I will call and see if we need a reservation
