Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
I've really been dithering about the temple. I'd like to go, but I've only got a certain number of hours Sunday, and what with drive time, it wouldn't give me much time at the restaurant. However, I can come early to the restaurant, so Tankersparks, I'll be there around 1 to help you, if that's OK with you.

Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
Had a great, fun, wonderful time. It was great seeing "old" faces and meeting "new" ones!!! It was a great restaurant.... we had our own little room. Sherlee's girlfriend gave a great recommendation of everyone ordering the "all you can eat"....... we had to be rolled out, we were so stuffed. Each table was given at least 10 side dishes (all you can eat) and a varity of meats (pork, chicken, beef) that we cooked on the grills built in the middle of each table (all you can eat). Salad and rice sheets (for lack of the proper name) both of which we rolled our meat in, rice and the servers then came around had we each had half a pancake.
Addie and I drove down together and I must say we had a long, 12-hour, fun filled day. We both left our home around 7:30 am to meet in Westwood (in LA) where I parked my car at my office building and didn't get home 'till around 7:30 pm. Some of us must have spent close to an hour outside the restaurant talking.
The Temple tour was really interesting..... we had a great tour guide.
Those who were not able to attend (who had rsvp'd) were missed. Sunshine4ever, good luck on your finals.... it would have been great meeting you. And, those from last time, who couldn't make it this time were missed and hopefully more newbies will be able to attend next time, too.
Okay, off to the new 9 pm drama just starting tonight. My dime's worth (inflation, AdWatcher).

Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
Sunday was filled with many great laughs, memories formed, new "friendships" established and joy.
My youngest daughter and I approached the Temple in "reserved mode", but were warmly greeted by our Hostess with the Mostest, Pooka 67 and others. Although the day was rather overcast and the beautiful view that can usually be seen from the high steps of the Temple was clouded over, the tour, the statues, artifacts, art gallery and chanting service were well worth the effort it took to attend. I learned things about Buddism that I never knew before and was blessed by the dedication and reverence that was demonstrated by the people that were visiting/meditating, etc. (ccfw, I apologize for not formally introducing myself to you and your fiance' at the temple, I thought we would be seeing you both at the restaurant and for some reason, I found the setting not to be as conducive to conversation as the restaurant gathering was) (Next time, I won't be so rude, sorry)
As already mentioned, the food was truly a "fine dining experience". Not just because of the wonderful meal that was prepared but also the pleasant and enjoyable company. thank you Cantgetenough, Sherlee, and Sue for making that portion of the day so welcoming and fun. I can even say that I shared my first bottle of Soju with friends!
Tankersparks, thank you for sharing your mealtime with my 2 daughters. they spoke very kindly about you on the way home and your great personality had a very positive effect on them both.
For our fellow boardies that couldn't make it, for whatever reason, you were missed but your posts remain with us and continue to add an additional level of enjoyment to the CKJdrama experience.
Well, I have written far too much for this post but I would like to conclude by saying that it was indeed an enjoyable time and the experience confirmed for me that being a Kdrama lover and avid viewer is not to be considered a "sickness to be avoided but rather a gift to be enjoyed and shared.

Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
Good Morning Everyone,
Thanks to all who came yesterday for making it such a fun time.
I really enjoyed getting to know each of you better. The food was really good and I though the price was reasonable.
Pooka67 thank you for organizing the temple tour. Great way to start the day.
Adwatch/Learker (i think that is how she spells it) thank you for the names tags.
Nsheldon thank you for your assistance.
To everyone who added to the door prizes a big thank you.
When we meet down here in Orange County again I recommend that we keep Cham Soot Gol at the top of the list. The service was really good and the room we had certainly could accommodate 10 to 15 more people and with getting the 'all you can eat' b.b.q. WOW.
Lets do this again soon.

THIS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A SUCCESS WITH OUT YOU

Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
I had an absolutely wonderful time! I am so glad I got to meet everyone--nsheldon and I, it turns out, went to the same junior high and high school at the same time! I had a great time sitting with vannessave, veronika, anonymousafro, and credeisca!! How wonderful to meet her! The food was great, especially the radish in wasabi and those brown noodles and the pancakes--I wish I could have had more of those. I just kept eating, as did we all! So much fun.
Thanks Tankersparks for all you did. I agree, a very good place to meet. Wish I could have done the temple tour, maybe next time.
Let's see if I can name everyone:
Sue
Shirlee
Curly Carrot, and her 2 daughters (who like Rain and Se7en)
Lalaino
pooka67
vannessave
anonymousafro
veronika
credeisca
Tankersparks
