Wow! Can't believe it's already the middle of the week and I haven't put my nickels' worth in re: The Drama Meeting/Gathering.
I can echo all the previous posts. And as usual, what happens at the meetings, stays in the meeting. Sooo… there’s not a lot more I can say, other than I had a great time! And.. as usual, not enough time to chat with everyone. So little time, so many dramas…
It was great to see and meet new folks, and get reacquainted with the “Old folks”.. .A figure of speech, of course.
Great food, great company, great conversation, and a bottle of soju. This must be what heaven is like. Hope to see many more of you at our next outing.

Those Temple pics are really beautiful. I think I'll plan a visit there real soon. I think my mother would be very impressed.

I also wanted to mention the service we were given at the restaurant. We must have had 4 or 5 waiters/waitresses at our tables constantly. They were amazing. I know at our table if we weren't paying close attention to the grill they would grab the tongs and stir it up themselves. I know once they changed the grill on us. Maybe we had it too crusted over with meat.

Overall a very relaxing enjoyable day...

Oh Vannessave I have an update on the free "chanting"(well that day it was just schreeeeeching ) radio thing from the temple!! I took it home and put in some batteries and whacked it on the table a couple of times and now it works great!!! It really is pretty soothing, nice soft music and chanting when I go back I will pick you up one. emoticon HAHAHA!!

I tried mine too = I just put new batteries in ,and it works fine .

If I am not mistaken , it is a chant to "GwanYin " Bodhisattva of mercy and compassion .

I want to thank M's again for all her effort ...I hope we can do it again before TOO much time goes by .

I was wondering too - I guess this is an unofficial poll - would people in furthur out areas be willing to come with enough notice ??

Just a thought .

Sorry, I wasn't there, but I had to say few words...

I am glad you-all had a great gathering! Looking at the pictures tells me that everybody enjoyed the gathering. Thanks for posting the pics, addie04 and pooka67.

I wished I had been there. As ADwatcher said: “ ….what happens at the meetings, stays in the meeting.”

And thanks addie04, for your numerous reminder of the gathering
on other posting. I did see it on different posts, but the date was
already set (Sunday) and sorry to say that day was already booked. Image

So~for sure...
..next time I will definitely join you-all for the “family-party”. emoticon

OK,
for those that didn't attend and want a little insight on our meeting...
thought I give you my input. IT WAS GREAT!!!!
We started out with a tour of a Chinese Buddhist temple. As with all places dedicated to our highest abstract thoughts, it was very serene and thought provoking. I also learned a bit more about Buddhism. The grounds were so beautiful and meticulously kept up. To see thousands of years of tradition was awesome in the true sense.
Then on to our luncheon. We were fortunate to have sherlee bring a Korean friend with her that was able to give us some insight to the “real” Korea. Even more interesting (at least to me) was the fact that she grew up in North Korea. It’s also the first time I have heard a North Korean accent. We have a very heavy Asian population in my area. Mostly Chinese, but also Vietnamese, Korean, Indonesian, etc. I can’t speak any of their languages but I can detect the differences enough tell if they’re from Taiwan, Hong Kong, the mainland (China) or Vietnam, Korea, etc. When I heard Sue (sherlee’s friend) speak, it was new to me. I never heard such an accent. Anyway, we were at a loss as to what to order but after she spoke with the proprietor, we were able to get a buffet-type meal (all we could eat of everything on the menu) for one price each. And what a feast! Truly a feast. There was/is a B-B-Q pit in the center of each table and we were given plates of beef, pork, chicken,.. and yes, Korean Bacon!! And more dishes of Kimchee, lots of other “stuff” that I can’t even name, but it was good, it was all good. I’ve been to a number of Korean restaurants in my area, but none with the quality, quantity, and service, for such a low price. I just wish this place was closer to my home.
And of course, the company. It was so much fun to talk to so many people of a like mind. Nobody to give you that funny look (you all know what I’m talking about) when you talk about Asian dramas. We all went around the table(s) talking about our first drama, our favorite characters, and which character we would like to identify with. I said the character I would like to be was Lee Tae Ran’s love interest. Luckily for me, my wife doesn’t know who LTR is…. And I trust all of you will keep it that way.
As with all enjoyable things, the moments went by too quickly. I didn’t get the chance to talk to everyone like I wanted to. I’m truly sorry you missed out.

I know I am super late with all of this. I just uploaded the pictures we took on our web album the link is

http://family.webshots.com/album/559212142fuURCh?vhost=family

I hope you will like them. There are roughly 74-75 pictures. I will try to add captions later this week but then just remember it took me over a week to get them online so don't hold me to that date.

It was a great time and we are definitely in for the next one. Thanks for helping me and my family feel welcome. We really had a good time.

We even went home with two door prizes - Chopsticks and a CD (Korean Hit Drama Songs) which fit perfect with our family. I will post more later but I know if I didn't do this now it may take another week or two.

Have a memorable Memorial Day.
