I'm not familiar with L.A. Does anyone have a suggestion about 'where' we can lunch/visit?

Also, we need to come up with a date. I know I'm not avail on June 21.

Once we get a more definite time/place maybe some of us can meet to decide if we want to do any games or ?. Or we can just chat/eat.

I really am a horrible/lousy planner but... I'm good at following directions. Someone please lead.

I would assume we can do something in Koreatown, nsheldon. Just a guess. I've been to Koreatown before but it's been a while.

I think my last visit there was to support Korea's national team during the World Cup soccer tournament in 2006 & that was in front of the Radio Korea building on Wilshire, I think.

I'm not available on June 8 or June 15 but everything else is fine.

exploring a few ideas with the staff at the Korean Cultural Center. Will get back with you soon on some ideas and suggestions for a place to meet and plan.
My suggestion would be going to the Galleria Market on Olympic (we can visit the food court and then discuss the plans for the group meeting. Otherwise, we have dined at several Krestaurants in Korea town. It would just be a matter of selecting one that our "extended stay" to plan wouldn't impose on the restaurant and their need to turn tables on a busy saturday or sunday.

Ok, so it looks like June 8 and 15 are not good Saturdays and for me June 21 isn't good. We have June 14 as a possibility or we can go into July.

Thanks Curly Carrot for checking on the Korean Cultural Center. That actually sounds like a place I'd like to see. Maybe they have a restaurant close by that can accommodate us for a couple hours...

I think it was that Galleria Market I went to a couple weeks ago (isn't that the 3 story mall?). I really need to go to a market around there to pick me up some kimchi.. yummo.... emoticon

Oh, if Saturdays in June are a problem then maybe we could do a Sunday?

Actually, June 8 & 15 are Sundays, nsheldon. June 14 would be fine with me though, or June 7 & I would prefer Saturdays!!

Never been to the Korean Cultural Center, so that would be fun. Not too sure how my stomach will take to kimchi...not into spicy food, at all...but i'm willing to try some traditional Korean food. And, of course, we must have soju emoticon

Hope they are no "dry" people among our group but, even so, it should be a fun event & look forward to meeting my fellow K-drama fans emoticon

Lex07: LOL... I can't drink much if I am going to drive but I do love soju. emoticon

I never drank at all when I was young. Now that my kids and grandkids are grown I do whatever the heck I want.

I do remember sharing a bottle of soju with others on this board. ;)

I have only had one kind of kimchi and it was that red pepper or whatever. The basic kimchi. I didn't think it was that spicy but maybe it is.

And now that Curly Carrot has mentioned the cultural center I would really like to go .

Curly Carrot: Is that center near Korea town on Wilshire?

Tankerspark: If you want you could ride with me. Maybe we could meet up in Cerritos or somewhere around there. Just let me know..

Hi Everyone,
NSHELDON, I would love to take you up on your offer to ride with you. As the time gets closer we will set this up for time and place.

If we are going to the Culture Center I probally will go on the train. You come out of the subway, walk to the corner (about 50 paces or there abouts) catch the bus and get off about 2 blocks away.

I have not been up there in a long time and would enjoy going.

I am so happy that a get together is taking form.

The Philly group had a get together last month and KBS showed up and filmed the whole thing for the "VJ" show. They had a great time with food, door prizes and gifts some of which were donated by the station. If we have one here, be sure to let KBS know that it is happening.

I'd like to go, but not sure about June. Saturdays only--my Sundays are aleady booked. I've been to the Cultural Center--signed my name in hangul! Transportation is also a problem--I usually take the Blue Line. Tankersparks, are you talking about the Blue line or the commuter train? I'd like to try that sometime.
