Hi Hyena,

I am coming from the south so I take MetroLink or Amtrak 9Anahiem station) up to Union Station. There I get on the red line subway headed to Wilshire/Western (not the Hollywood/Vine stop). At the corner of Wilshire/Western in the bus/shuttle stop. I think there is a stop for the rapid red bus at the blue station on Wilshire.

I like going that way. I did not have to worry about where to park. At the Culture Center that is not a problem.

I am excited that a plan is going into place. Either day will work for me. I just need a bit of notice so I can put in for the time off (usually I work weekends)

If there is anything I can do to move this along please let me know.

Oh my…. Tankerspark: I am not sure how to ride the bus/train/etc… I’ve never done it. I would really like to get on near me but would want to be on the same ‘ride’ that you are on. I could get on AmTrak I think in Fullerton. I don’t think there is another stop between Fullerton and LA (is there?). There is a train of some sort that goes down the middle of the 105 Freeway (which I work and live near). I could get on that one at Lakewood Blvd in Downey. I’m in Downey area. Maybe we could talk after it is decided what day/time?

Hyena: I hope you can join us. I’m pretty flexible about either Sat or Sun so whatever is best for the majority …

Curly Carrot: Were you able to check on the Cultural Center days/hours? Oh I guess we’ll need a very close restaurant also (since some of us will be car-less)… 

If we can get this going and anyone needs my help, please let me know… I’ll do whatever is needed..

Hi everyone!! Saturdays sound great for me There is a Amtrak station in my town of Fullerton, there isn't another stop until you reach Union Station. If you ladies are going to take the train I would love to meet up and ride up that way. It is a great way to go to LA, no traffic and no parking worries either. emoticon

It makes for a very nice trip.

Let me know if anyone needs any help with the gathering , I am willing to help. emoticon

That sounds good Pooka. Since Fullerton is the last stop before L.A. I could drive to Fullerton and catch the train there. Maybe we could time it so Tankerspark is on the same train when we get on.

I would LOVE to do that! My middle name is TRAIN--I travel that way whenever I can, almost always catching the train in Fullerton. I've finally graduated to a sleeper compartment on longer trips--sitting up all night and day in the economy class seats got to be too hard on me!! HA!

nsheldon, the train that goes down the center of the 105 is the Green Line. The Green/Red/Blue/Yellow lines are like the "trolley car"--catch the Green Line in Norwalk, transfer to the Blue Line at Long Beach Blvd., Blue Line ends at Union Station, pick up the Red Line going to the end of Wilshire Blvd. Voila! Korea Town.

The Amtrak or the Metrolink is the one that stops at Fullerton--it's the train. It's a bit more expensive than the Green/Blue/Red, but it's more comfortable, I think.

I have two Sundays open in addition to all the Saturdays: June 15 and June 29, although I'd prefer a Saturday. But I would really like to come, so I'll work it out if necessary.

I am a little confused ; are we talking the actual gathering or a planning meeting ?

In any case , I would really like to attend . I think the format of the last one was great - a lot of meeting ,mingling and talking ! The door prizes were fun too , I would be happy to bring something to contribute !!

I have contacted the cultural center via email but will discuss our options with the director on tuesday when I go to language class. They are not open on Sundays.
Has anyone or will anyone be willing to contact KBS (which is close by) about a possible tour?

We could take a tour of KBS? That sounds great! I hope we have enough time for this? I have never been to the Cultural Center so not sure how long that will take. A tour of KBS would take at least an hour, right? Then lunch....

After Curly Carrot finds out about the day/time for the Cultural Center perhaps we could contact KBS to find out about a possible tour.

I am not sure if there will be a pre-meet for this. And if we do the Cultural Center and the KBS tour (then lunch) we may not have that much visiting time. If we only do the Cultural Center and lunch we could maybe come up with some ideas (games) and make sure everyone gets a 'door prize'. It was fun last time to have that little gift exchange (I already have a good idea for a gift.....)

Curly Carrot: Let us (me) know when you have info about the Cultural Center and then we can figure out what else can be done that day.

I'm for driving to Fullerton and taking the train with the OC folks ...

Ok, no definite dates have been worked out either. Maybe we can do a quickie poll:
