Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
Sorry for the delay with the updates on our gathering on June 28.
Computer crash!!!
As of today, it has been confirmed that we will have to do a self-guided tour of the cultural center. Josh who runs the media/fil screening activities told me on Saturday that he will check his calendar and get back with me ASAP (still waiting) if he can be at the property (unofficially) and "guide" us through all the KCCLA has to offer with respect to film. The KOCC is only open on Saturdays from 10-12 (and this is on a rotating basis...not open every Saturday) I am still waiting a return call.
As for the location for the meal/sharing, that portion, believe it or not has been much harder to locate. Many great restaurants in Ktown but not many that will accomodate large groups with reservations. After 4 trips to LA, I was almost ready to give up the search when we, by chance, stopped at I love Boba after class last night and right next door was a Korean restaurant (one with adequate parking: another big issue in LA) Very pleasant owner, offered us a choice of private rooms (depending upon guest count), full lunch and dinner menu to choose from, alcohol served for those who requested this feature (not all restaurants in LA have the licensing) A rating (not all have this either), and free use of their 30 guest capacity private nori bang room after lunch for those who are so inclined.
I have made a tentative reservation (he requested the 1pm lunch hour so as to allow enough time for lunch, discussion, nori bang, etc.)
We will be checking out the Korean BBQ restaurant that was advertised in the program at the Korean Music Festival this year on Sunday.
Both restaurants are on Western just north of Wilshire. Approximately 5 minutes from the Cultural Center.
We will need a somewhat accurate head count for both the KCC and the restaurant asap.
If everyone can swing it, it would be best to tour the KCCLA at 11am (11:30 at the latest)
Hope this helps.
I will provide a link for the menu when the restaurant has been officially chosen.

Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
This is going to be short as I have to get to work.
I will get back to everyone about the train ..... I perfer Metrolink but they do not have a very diverse schedule on the weekend. Amtrak seems to be the way to go. I need to make sure that the time tables that I have are still correct.
There is a very good bus system call the "rapid red". It stops at Western/La brea... Just two or three block away from the KCCLA,
I did not have the time to work with until now... So Stay Tuned and I will than get as accurate info as I can.
NSHELDON.... were you thinking of catching the train???? Can you get to the Fullerton station. Amtrack does not stop at the Norwalk/Santafe Springs station...... also NSHELDON I will pm you with my cell phone and hopefully we can meet up.....
More to come.

Re: K-Drama Fan Meetings! (Post, Discuss, and Arrange)
Pooka, thanks so much for the pm. Yesterday, I actually took 2 OCTA buses
to the Fullerton tran. ctr., just to check out where we are to meet to take the train. Of course, Sat. bus schedules are different-but if I have to be there 3 hrs. early just so I don't get left behind, ha, I will be there. I am checking the board too, everyday for updates, and will pm you my cell # later.

Sorry family , i forgot about my company picnic that Saturday. I totally forgot about it since the invite was back in April. Sorry I won't be able to make it. Make sure you guys take lots of picture to share. I surely will miss all of you. The first one I attended was a blast and I'm sure this would be too. Have fun!!!
