Also I guess we better figure out what time to get the train and if we can get the correct connections to make it on time. I guess I better check the schedules, I always put things off until the last minute. emoticon

Lex07 you can give www.yelp.com or www.citysearch.com a try to find the restaurant. They both usually have a picture of the place and a map . I haven't had a chance to check either yet but I will try later on today. The street address is 528 South Western Avenue, I think that might have thrown you off.

Pooka: I didn't move forward on the prizes/quiz because there wasn't a response. I don't know if I have time now to go pick up a gift. But it's ok because we'll still have a lot of fun!! emoticon

We could still come up with some questions. I have a few we could use: (i.e. Who's your favorite K-actor/actress; what's your fav drama; what was your first k-drama; how did you get started, etc.)...

I talked to Tankerspark over the weekend. I hope she read the date/time?? DID YOU Tankerspark? Can you get the time off? I sure hope so because I'm relying on you to be my transportation guide!! LOL

P.S. To those who are going with us by train... Tankerspark is getting the schedule/times to meet. She'll board in Anaheim or Santa Ana (forgot which) and will call us at the Fullerton Station to let us know which car she's in.

Lex07: I think once there (Cultural Center) you can just go with us on public transportation to go elsewhere (restaurant/Ktown).. It'll be an adventure for me (for sure) because I never ever take public transportation. Tankerspark has been there several times and knows the way... emoticon

There will be some walking involved. I think there is a two block walk at one place and maybe a 3 or 4 block walk at another location. I have no problem with the walking (I love to walk) but it may be warm. I think it's supposed to be in the 80's that day (I like it in the 60's)... If I faint, please don't leave me on the sidewalk!!! emoticon

NOTE: We were kinda thinking of going to the Ktown Plaza/Galleria. Whatever that 3 story mall is called. I heard (forgot who posted it) that Music Plaza (3rd floor) is moving to the 1st floor and has good sales. I wouldn't mind picking up a cd (Sung Si Kyung)....

Good moring everyone,
I have a major problem with this weekend.

Awhile back my computer died a slow mornefull death (at least it waited until Fry's had some sales going). when I got back up and running for some reason I did not get the post for the "get together" even tho I had subscribed to the subject. At that time I was also planning my vacation to Idaho which was really nice. So, what I am trying to say here is that I can not get saturday off. My regular days are thursday/friday. Calling in on saturday is like call in on monday. FYI my assistant manager's parents live across the street from me and knowing Kayla she will let her parents know I called out and her Mom will be over to check on me. I also went to the HNIC (Head Nasty In Charge) and asked for saturday off and i feel they tryed to find another "opener" to cover for me (Saturdays I work 6am to 2:45). So Management knows I wanted Saturday off so calling in is not advised. The other problem is that we have 2 people in my department on vacation. I am really looking forward to working this week end with only one other person in the department. (0w my nose just grew) That is going to be a hard day (i really thing I am getting too old for this nonsense).

I am really at a loss here. The train/subway is really a wonderful way to go and I really did not want to miss this. I am so sorry about this. Please forgive me.

OMG... POOKA!!! I'm extremely uncomfortable taking the train/bus, etc. I need a guide... What should we do?

How comfortable are you with taking the train/bus?

Hyena: Are you familiar with taking this transportation?

Or should we all try to drive? I have a little car but I can take 3 passengers if someone can point the way.

If those taking the train can post what time they would be coming into Union Station perhaps some of us, including myself, could meet there to pick you up. That way the bus could be alleviated. I can fit 3 or 4 passengers. Then we can all drive to the center from there.

As for the Galleria, it is several miles away on Western and Olympic. It's a great place, but to anyone who doesn't have transportation I highly suggest finding some because walking it would take all day. Just wanted to let everyone know emoticon

Other than that, I look forward to Saturday! See you then!

curly carrot, checked the web & only two restaurants came up in that area...Bokka at 545 S. Western Ave. & Q at 425 S. Western Ave.?? There's nothing listed at 528 S. Western Ave.?? I'm sure it's not a problem, as we'll get together before then.

I'm looking very forward to this but must add that, because I just started a new job after being out of work for one month, I'm a bit strapped for cash & can't really afford a gift/prize...though, I will have enough for a bottle or two of soju, LOL!! But we should still do the "Best of" quiz & just enjoy the day emoticon

I'm still debating on my best transport option...bus (actually, two) to the Cultural Center or meeting with nsheldon & her group in front of Union Station around 10 am & getting a ride??

I'll make up my mind by Thursday night, LOL!!!

There were about 5 of us taking the train. Tankerspark isn’t able to make it now so we should have 4. We’ll need another person besides Curly Carrot to drive us from Union Station (if we don’t bus it). Anyone else out there able to pick some of us up?

Maybe we need a definite head count and mode of transportation. All those taking the train to Union Station please raise your hand. Anyone else able to provide a ride to a couple people from Union Station to the Cultural Center and restaurant, please let us know (if we have two cars able to pick up and deliver to Union Station then I will go ahead with the Train).

I think it’s too late to come up with games/gifts now. I have these questions that we can all answer (so we can get to know each other or get re-acquainted). Maybe you can all add to this:

Hi everyone, yesterday at work I cried pleaded and begged. No use. the staffing as been cut so low that it is of no use.

I just want to add this. The metro RED LINE, (capitalized because there is 4 different color lines.) Is the subway (not bus) that gets you to wilshire and western. I think the bus would take forever. I think i have let myself down more than the group.

I dont know why i did not get the the post for the FAN MEETING. Is there a a limit of topics that we can subscribe to? Or did my puter have an upset stomack. I am really upset about missing this one. It will be the first one I miss and it will be the last. (I hope).

I am with you in spirit. I just wish I could be the transportation guiding spirit.

I'm sorry you have to miss too Tankerspark. But we understand how jobs are. Next time!!! I think we're asking if anyone can pick us up at Union Station. If we don't get rides we'll take public transportation. We need to get to the Cultural Center and then we'll need to get to the restaurant.

We'll manage.
