Always Current Discussions of Different K-Dramas: K-DRAMA VIDEO CLUB!
This discussion makes me realize how many wilting-flower, wet-noodle females we do run across in our K-dramas. I know, we also see lots of spunky girls! Maybe Mi-ok is written as she is because the show is really just meant to be about the boys?

Bangoo is the Korean word for fart. Fart just sounds so vulgar. But bangoo, well, it sounds sooo homey....
Pflflan, honestly, based on my experience in the corporate world in the US of A, that kind of crazy abuse does happen! You don't see hitting and bodily contact but lots of verbal abuse!
Glo5, I love Mr. Song's laugh too. It's mildly demented. At first I thought he was a good guy but he's starting to show evil roots, stealing ideas, trying to push Mi Ok into his limo for a nightcap...
BBstl, I think Korea likes wet-noodle ladies. My teacher says that men like sweet, innocent, wholesome, unassuming, wilting-flower girls. Maybe not as pathetic as Mi Ok but they definitely don't like the go-get-em type as much. I would have been a total flop in Korea with the guys!

Buppy, do you think the spunky heroines are written for the female audiences? That's funny that men like the wilty girls but look how they all reacted when Mi-Ok came to LK in the hot dress! I guess it's the Korean version of the Virgin/Madonna story.
I can't say that I ever saw anyone get hit in a Korean workplace but I'm sure that wouldn't happen in front of Westerners. But I can support Buppy's observation that dreadful verbal abuse is rampant in our corporate world! I had one boss who said it made his day every time he could make a subordinate cry.

Episode 12 -- Since it's late tonight I thought I would add my comments early!
class reveal class spoiler Episode 12 is the funniest!!! I love the scenes where Bong Sam gets drunk and has to sleep in Kang Ho and Min's eebool (blanket) and then how the mom gets all googly over BS's good looks. Then the plot twist where Mi Ok saves the company secrets. Just too good!! I had to comment on it now! I'm so glad that finally someone is taking matters into his or her hands and that Ho is probably going to confess his feelings to Mi Ok. Let's see how this turns out!

Allow me to correct myself, when I said the Korean version of our Virgin/Madonna story, I meant to say Virgin/Whore story.
