Episode 18 was great.

I felt so bad for Tumy (JH) for having endured Dong Young's father's wrath. He was particularly cold to her in their first meeting. Much of the episode focused on the relationship between Tumy and the other 3 main characters.

Also KH's real father started the search for her/kang hee's mother. Little does he know how close they all are. ;)

The scene where Kang Hee's mom goes to the ensemble and sees them all there was interesting.

It looks like the tension between KH and Tumy will be increasing not only as the truths of their past slowly comes out, but now Chang Bong Sil wants them to compete so that their talents come out.

The ending was a cliffhanger. It looks like DY and Peen will finally know about the love triangle. Episode 19 should be very interesting.

I am all caught up and even saw part of ep 20 before I had to stop last night, it just keeps getting better. I was so happy that Tumy and DY finally got to find each other and tell the each other how they feel. It was so heartbreaking at the house for all for all of them even JH. Poor JH is also coming to the conclusion that Tumy is the real JH after all that she has learned about her, I think that will just be too much for "JH' to handle. JH finding her mom alive after not seeing her for 17 years was also very sad. I love the fashion show , are we sure ths shouldn't be Fashion 80's? The puffy prom dresses , the Flock of Seagulls hairdo on Mr. Bang and the models walking out to "Mickey" by Toni Basil?! I felt so bad for Tummy and DY at his dad's house, I know part of the meaness from his dad is just him trying to keep DY focused so he can return alive from the mission but why did he have to be so mean to her? The guys are getting ready for their Mission and each tell the other to take care of the woman they love. I am going to stop here for now and post more about ep 19 later tonight to give people a chance to catch up , I am ahead of schedule for once and don't wan to ruin to much!

I don't know if I can take any credit for this choice, but I was just listing my purchases and lamenting about the growing pile of dvds I have to get to and see. I am glad this one grabbed everyone's attention and deservedly so.

I feel just like Addie, I feel as if I'm living in these people's world now! As usual, Pooka was ahead of the group and had scouted out where to find this drama b4 it's available anywhere else because it's so new. Woo-Hoo, Pook! You are our leader.
When DY started his search for JH and talked about a Korean man who'd worked at the army base, he said the man was born in 1912 and would now be 58. So at least we know they're in 1970, not somewhere in the mid-70s. From the fashion standpoint, a lot of what we think of as 60s: hippie, flowers, surfer looks - actually hit their stride in the early 70s. So KH's drippy off-white (hippie inspired) dress was the most accurate for the year. Tumy's was just ok, it would probably have been more like 1973 and Pooka's right, all the rest of them were from the 80s!!! Forget the music. So it looks like we can't hold them to much accuracy with the fashion! The platform shoes didn't start coming back until '71.

I couldn't figure out the ransacked office, either. I think I did hear the spy boss say "KGB" which wasn't reflected in the subs - oy, these subs! The spy boss saw the guys in the black car watching them when they left that hair salon, so they've been being tailed all along. But that mystifies me as well, how would DY being at dinner with the President have kept the KGB out of the office?

I'm so nervous about what's going to happen in HK!

The other hint that we are in 1970 exactly is during the discussion between Kang Hee and her mother. She said she (mother) left her 17 yrs ago (the last meeting they had when the mother forced her to stay and live as Jun Hee). Then later the dates are refreshed in your memory when Jun Hee's father's was investigating and looking for Kang Hee. It was noted that she was released from prison in 1953. 1953+17=1970

Also do you remember in the fashion show from the last episode. It had that music like the cheer leader music. I forgot what that's called. But I thought that was from the 80s? Does anyone remember which song I'm talking about?

How bad are these subs in comparison to the "bad" subs you guys normally complain about from non YesAsia/DVDfromKorea dvd sets? This is probably the worst subtitling I've seen so far in a korean drama (with the black box set I have). There's so many typos and grammatical errors, however, that being said....I don't think it's a huge deal. The storytelling and text is close enough to figure out. I was never left wondering with subtitles that had errors. Luckily as far as I can tell for all the problems of these subs, the story facets are coming through without problems. As long as the story details of the text comes through without me either wondering or rewinding, I'm satisfied.

Check my last post , the song title is "Mickey" by Toni Basil it is from the early 80's.

The subs on this are way better than my cheap KSS.LOL!! I didn't even know what they were talking about at all on that set! This show and the first KSS are the only ones I have had problems with out of 11 cheaper dvd sets. That is a decent average.

Ah good catch pooka! How did you know that song by name, it's been ages since I heard that one. emoticon

This isn't bad at all, if this is what you consider "decent" for these types of dvds. I would probably be more emboldened now to check out other dvd sets as long as I can follow the story or have understandable dialogues. ;)

Hate to double post but I just wanted to say I'm caught up as well. I just watched tonight's episode 19 and tomorrow's episode 20 just in case tomorrow night got hectic.

Things are heating up in every aspect of the storyline! I'll post more on ep 19, once we begin episode 19 discussions tonight.

I also highly recommend to watch episode 20 intently whenever that happens. It's one of the key episodes in the series so far!

It occurs to me that I have a basic question: why should it be Tumy's problem that Peen is in love with her? He said to DY on the plane, when they get back, she'll have to choose between them. What? She's made her choice, she told Peen from the beginning there'd be no room for him even if she had TWO hearts. Why is DY acting like Peen is right and Tumy will have to choose? I'm interested in hearing opinions, please.
