Good recap pooka! I fell behind but now I've just caught up. I watched episodes 23, 24 and 25 yesterday, and episode 26 this morning so I'm back in schedule.

What a series! So many emotional lows and highs.

Episode 26 was parcticularly powerful. I'll talk about that later once everyone has seen it.

This series has 28 episodes right? I don't want it to end...2 days left. emoticon

I just finished ep 24- anither powerful episode ably described by pooka ! I quit reading at that point ,because I will watch ep 25 after my korean class.Unfortunately ,I have not studied . The good news is ,during the ep (24) I found myself relying less on subtitles during certain parts .Now,That's what I'm talking about !!!!!!

I will definitely watch 25 later so will post again There's just a couple of comments I'd like to make
Thanks ,buppy for explaining the stigma re orphans .I believe in everyone's inherent worth & equality regardless of their religion ,background etc,etc,and yes,we do have adopted members in our family. .I will ask my Taiwanese friend more about confusianism,because I know he's into it .
I thought it was so fascinating now that everyone( except Bin ) know who the real Jun Hee Is .
The scene between Duimei & Kanghee's oma was very
emotional .I wish KangHee would just walk in and join in...but there I go again.
And of course, the moment when Bin called his mother "oma " emoticon

oh I forgot. I just got a new laptop ,and I'm jazzed because it has hangul on here instead of boxes !

I just wanted to add,buppy,that DongYing is HOT- but ther'e just something about Bin- I can't help myself
(sigh)

Just finished episode 25 ,another incredible part of the story .
A thought struck me- I wonder how DongYing's father feels now that he knows Duomei is JunHee ?
I 'm sure he'll be singing a different tune next time DY wants to talk about marriage .
I can't help but feel sorry for KH ,dad doesn't believe that she didn't know about JH the wole time-which she didn't .I can almost see her point- everybody is rejecting her ,or so it seems to her.
It was ironic when She was drinking in front of her mom.
One of the most poignant scenes were when Duomei & her dad were at her moms grave ,& Duomei was apologizing to her mom for hiding .What was she -5 or 6 years old ? I just know the child JunHee was missing her front teeth. I can't imagine how her character holds it together ! So much coming @ her .

I guess it's obvious even to me that I'm going right back to the TV to watch Pt 26 .I can't help myself !
BUT- I will stop there ! I don't want to finish before the 28 ( I don't want it to end then ,either.I have no choice )

Well if you watch episode 26 tonight you're going by the schedule so it's ok. emoticon

Once you see episode 26 though you'll be wanting to see the rest. I'm fighting temptation to hold out for 27 until tomorrow!

actually I have a couple other things to say ,but I'm waiting til I know you've all seen this .
I'm surprised you're not all burning up the keypads re this drama !

One more thing ,KangHee is going to be in a karmic hell of her own making !(or this that redundant ?)

I know, addie. I feel like we got off track with this one somehow. Maybe it's because most of us ended up having to watch with "flexible" schedules? I hope we can rally 'round again for MNIKSS.
I hope this drama is the start of my learning more about the aftermath of the Korean War, the politics of Korea between the war and the true democracy of today, and about the Confucian foundation of the society as brought up by Buppy. I've appreciated what I've learned about all those from F-70s (altho I do have a headache from doing the simultaneous English-to-English translations! Aieeee, these subs!)

I just can't believe that with everything that's gone wrong for her, Kang-Hee isn't going to rush her father to get his stomach pumped to save him. Surely that will happen in Ep 27, right? Her mind is a pit of despair, but she's got to have that much sense left, I hope. I feel sure that Mom isn't gone - even drunk, I think that woman could survive a measly river current! Is DY trying to back off Doumy so Peen can have a chance? I don't understand what's really going on there, D pointed out that DY's been inattentive lately and we sure haven't seen him doing anything else.
Just on a practical note - throwing Doumy out of the academy for making dresses out of mass-market fabric? Give me a break. No way would a fashion show like that happen without the Head of the school having seen the designs, the fabric, the clothes and at least one dress rehearsal. Pfffffttt.

you're right ,bbstl. DY has been a bit odd lately, but the action has been so fast & furious I haven't paid much attention .I don't know if Peen feels the same about Duomei now that he knows she's JunHee . Being noble never works ...people are going to love who they are going to love.( are you listening KangHee ?)
The dad is trying his best ,and KH is implacable .She must have gotten that from her mom.
The biggest mistake the dad made was making KangHee change her name.It' no wonder she is such a mess !
BUT- she's veering into unforgiveable waters herself !

This is my first drama with the Kdrama club ,and it's been fabulous.The mistake I made was getting far behind,catching up ,etc. I've even adjusted to the subtitle challenge,but for the next one,I am going to be a lot more disciplined about keeping to the schedule=one ep/day >it's not like I'm following umpteen dramas.I just watch BB & this. If I start doing another one on AZN,I might have a problem,but that ain't happening til EOTS is over ! emoticon

AYA! Finally we're at a point where I can finally discuss what I've seen! This is terrible, watching so far ahead, and having to keep my fingers off the keys!! Wasn't episode 25 and 26 absolutely incredible??????? Just wait 27 will make your jaws drop!!!

I can't believe Kang Hee. She is so cruel the way she told her mother goodbye forever in this life and in all future lives. Then her mom is probably dead because of her. She is on a dangerous path burning all the bridges in her life with her self-pity and anger. I think the writers and director are doing a great job of portraying her as a person who has tremendous potential but is spiralling out of control due to her bad upbringing and nasty temperament. Then she absolutely goes over the edge when her father springs the news that he is going to officially acknowledge that she is not his blood daughter and heir by changing her name to Kang Hee in the family register.

But gosh, I LOVE her ruffled white blouse in episode 25! It's so cute that I went out and bought a ruffled pink blouse at the dept store. Not as cute as the white one but sorta close.

The scenes where dad and Dawmy meet each other as father and daughter are very moving. I'm so glad they get to meet. I was afraid for a while that they would meet on someone's deathbed, a la Secret. Honestly, Secret is the epitome of the frustrating, maddening movie for me.

It's interesting to me how close KH and DY are. They are actually very intimate with each other almost like they are still boyfriend and girlfriend. It makes it very messy for DY and Dawmy because 1970s Korea was probably still pretty conservative.

Wow ep.26!! So much in just one show!! So we have the fashion show and Peen comes to model for Tumy. Mrs.C freaks out on T's mass production idea. After the show they are told that YJ is dead (I don't think so!) KH reveals that she had told her mom she would never she her again. I am getting sick of her being such a spoiled brat how many times do people have to tell you the love you no matter who you are!!! Peen finds out finally that T is really JH. It was very sweet the he told her he was sorry he didn't take her to Busan when they were kids. So they go back to the the school and T gets chewed out buy Mrs.C and told to go back to the market where she came from. I was glad that T told her that every one should have the chance to dress nice not just the rich! I just saw a program on the fashion channel about famous designers doing ready to wear lines for Target , H & M , etc. So T was just ahead of her time!! Oh and again when DY taked KH back to her house she is carrying another black and red Kate Spade!!! The stylist must love KS!!! Now Mr. Ko is keeping KH on his family register and making a new "position" for JH. As we get a chance to see on Mrs. C's desk T had won the contest but she still has her leave. So the lady T used to work for is willing to help her open a store for her clothing line! Good for her!!!So now Mr. Ko doesn't seem to believe KH when she tell him her side of the story. So with the pills she just got KH is mixing up a Mi-Ran special but before she can drink it she tells Mr. Ko about ther mom being dead and she is leaving . So he drinks it instead , now I wonder if she would have done something to help help him or not?! So of course the help and T see him take the header down the stairs!! Oh I can't wait to see what happens , but I will be good .......so far!

Very interesting reading.

I think this has shown us one thing - for future K-Drama viewings maybe we should try to stick to the schedule? We all have in one form or another really fallen back + gotten way ahead at some points and have been out of step with each other. Obviously real life issues dictate how this could happen, but perhaps a bit more idealism and structure might help, especially for something as great as what MNIKSS will probably be.

Episode 26 was powerful!

I'm annoyed that the mother decided to take the easy way out, the same with Kang hee. Both were going to give up and commit suicide. The situation isn't that bad!!!

But now instead of her drinking her suicide ****tail the father mistakenly drinks it when KH and him had that fight....What's going to happen to him now? Kang Hee is starting to annoy me again. Right after he drank it...she was in a state of shock and did nothing. Get a grip girl. Get him to a hospital instead of being in dream-land!

Chang Bong Sil was particularly harsh to Tumy/Jun Hee. Because of philosophical differences she kicks her out without a second chance? Kind of too much. These arteeests! ;)

Anyway that ending to episode 26 was dramatic. I can't wait to see episode 27 tonight. 2 episodes remaining....
