Always Current Discussions of Different K-Dramas: K-DRAMA VIDEO CLUB!
SR, it doesn't really explain in the series about why her name is funny. I am not sure if i am allowed to tell the meaning behind the name! ^_^"
I really love it when he go up to her and ruin her blind date. I really feel so emb arrassed! And her singing the korean version of "it's raining men" is so funny. I wouldn't have the guts to do what she did ... with dancing on the table and all. she really made the pig such a great accessory as well. i want one too!
Funnily i like to see him whack by his mother. it is really hilarious how one small woman can beat a tall fella. but it was interesting that his mom said"
"for several years you see woman as a rock and shiver if someone even sits on your bed because you are a neat freak. But allowing that girl to sleep on your bed means you like her very much."
I found that line an interesting beginning to a love story. hehe
the rice spewing .... i would wish there was an earthquake at that time if i was in her shoes. I don't think i can live it down! lolz ^_^

Re: Always Current Discussions of Different K-Dramas: K-DRAMA VIDEO CLUB!
Here's some more contextual info from fendercat's post on the MNIKSS thread, pg. 24 as re: ep. 2:
53:47) The soup KSS is eating was 'clotted cow blood soup' which is known to be good for cure hangover so no wonder HJH was so freaked out seeing her eating it
And some trivias from Ep 2 :
She love to call HJH using animal names - 'dung beetle (which was used also in Ep1 for her ex-boyfriend and it made HJH chuckle)', 'octopus ocellatus(baby octopus)', 'anchovy'. She also calls HJH's mother a 'catfish(not blowfish as translated)' and it's obviously derived from a 80s comedian with the same nick name since I've never have heard anyone was called 'catfish' before that and he was quite famous then.
Real catfish : (see pg 24 for photo of real catfish!)
Comedian Lee 'Catfish' Sang-Woon : (see pg 24 for photo of real comedian!)
Also note that frequently used designation 'Mister' and 'Lady' has strong disparaging feel since the original words '아줌마(A-jum-ma)' and '아저씨(A-ju-ssi)' are rarely used for anyone below 20 or mid-30s. Literally they mean 'you're old and youd have careless and unrefined manner' when used to denote young people.
BTW, the actor who played KSS's blind date was one of Bong Sam's buddies at the restaurant at the beginning of Super Rookie!

Re: Always Current Discussions of Different K-Dramas: K-DRAMA VIDEO CLUB!
I thought today's episode was funny. I love how he refers to his mother even when no one is around as President Nah. My favorite scene is when she came to the wine class late and he walked in and said to go easy on her because she spent the night with him. LOL And then again later when he tells the staff they are dating and all the girls need smelling salts because they are all in love with him and are shocked by his announcement. I am not understanding the Mi-Joo little girl relationship to him or am I supposed to catch on later? I didn't know if I missed something

Mi-Joo is his niece and you will learn more details later. You've missed nothing. President Nah did say, when she was beating JH up in the elevator, that one reason he needs to get married is that Mi Joo starts school in the fall. And JH answered that he will attend the PTA meetings and do everything that needs to be done in regards to Mi Joo's school.
I love how, when KSS is telling her family background to JH's mother, he cracks up at the news that her dad ran a small grain shop and her mom is basically one step up from a loan shark. He does seem to like things that prick holes in his mother's sense of class division.
I really love how he doesn't know what to do with his face after KSS gives the little speech answering how much does she love him and she says directly to him, "I love you!". His reaction is like - oh right, thanks, ummm, what? And then she runs into the bathroom and repeats to herself "I love you???", gags a few times and says, "Sam Shik, you dork!"
