Episode 7 . Things as far as the accident didn't turn out any differently than what I expected. How sad but wonderful he was able to open up and tell her. I don't get HJs cancer story. I can understand why Mama would want to spare JH any additional pain. but she still wants HJ to stay away so there has to be more to the story. Again JH disappointed me again almost acting human but then slipping back by asking her if she's looked in the mirror. Mean, mean mean! Especially when it's obvious he likes her.

I'll have to differ on the kiss. I think it was one of the all-time great kissing scenes ever in a K-drama. It was electric.

Maybe one of the differences is perspective. As a kissing participant, focus is on technique. In context of a drama scene and the relationship of the characters involved, I think this one was right on and powerful between them. Their relationship is awkward. Sam Soon took a huge risk in kissing him. But as usual, she is passionate about everything she does in life.

Everybody rates guys as kissers, but I nominate "Sam Soon" right up there! If I were a guy, I'd think her kiss and technique looked pretty darn hot! (No wonder Hyun Bin was blushing! emoticon

)

LOL, we're still talking about The Kiss! Maybe I'll leave my avatar up one more day. Certainly the kiss changes things between them, no matter how much they try to backpedal the next day. They're just kidding themselves, aren't they?
I really thought she kissed him the first time just to say, quit sticking your face in mine like you're gonna do something - take this, tough guy! And then in that frozen moment in between, something changed. It changed sooner for her, but he caught up pretty quickly. I misspoke earlier when I said it wasn't romantic. It wasn't romantic like some big, swoopy Prince Charming scene that's just perfect (and then the bluebirds and doves fly around the rainbow!). Or even a regular passionate scene (ahem!
Meteor Garden!). I agree with nchristi, it's very romantic in that it stops me breathing and is electrifying to watch and I'm really nervous for both characters because this is uncomfortable and it's only probably going to get worse! I'll just drop the photo in here so we can refer back to it! It's a thumbnail, so you can click for the larger view.

I finished episode 7 ,and was starting episode 8 ( i confess !) when it was time for BB, so I had to stop.
I stand by my opinion about the kiss ,but all the events of ep 7 ( up to the reunion with HeeJin ) did more to foster intimacy between them than any thing .Ok ,he fought the jerk for her,then back pedalled AGAIN.
When JH told her about the accident ,and all that he had been through ,I think that was it for KSS. So, it was really cruel d/t the HJ reunion .What is up with Henry ?( beside the fact he's gorgeous ?) Is he in love with HJ too ? Is she cured of cancer or will this turn to a tragedy ?

Love of pix of KNJ - and he likes dogs too?

this way I can have my favorite Korean word -yah ! plus Kim Yoo Bin !

oh, addie, dontcha just love YAH!? PFL and MNIKSS both use it so much.
Do you recall HeeJin receiving the video from Henry? He told her he loved her even tho he knew she'd gone back to Korea for someone else. And that that wouldn't change his love for her. And now he's shown up in Korea at least partly because she left California before her "5 years" was up and he wants to check out her medical options in Seoul. But he wants to see where he stands with her, too. Of course, she's told him she "doesn't feel anything for him" in that way.

There are some really cute NGs of this episode on YouTube that show KSA and HB after the kiss - she breaks away with a laugh and in my opinion, he looks like he's coming out of a trance! If I find them, I'll PM you.

Well I forgot to mention one of my favorite parts of ep 6 .It is when Captain Jang is trying to throw herself on JH in his office and the roach falls down her shirt! She totally deserved that! Fool!

Ok Ep. 7--Hey SR did you see your old guy friend checking out all of the waitresses?! So stupid HW tried to get SS to break up with JH and JH finally punches him. I love how SS just jumps right into the fight. CR starts up with SS , did you see how the guys sat back and watched for a minute before they jumped in! LOL!! JH gives SS the just pay attention to me , just look at me not other men speech. He opens up about the crash and HJ , he even cries. But when they leave the room he is back to his old business like self.

Chef Lee and SS's sister crack me up , it was great when he told her "Your behind will grow if you lie....oh it already did!" Those two are funny.

I felt so bad for SS when JH went back to the Hotel to talk to HJ. Poor SS had just blurted out that she really had come to like him and he leaves her. I understand he has to know about HJ's story but the awful "heart squeezy" feeling you get for SS is too much. Henry finally just tells JH about HJ's cancer and leaves them to talk. Poor Henry he is so in love with HJ and she just keeps brushing him off. "Sophie" and Henry's conversation just had me cracking up! I guess I needed that laugh to be able to make it through the next scene. The phone call that SS made at the airport to JH just made me cry. She is such a good actress.

Addie where do we line up for the Batman kissing contest?! I am going to start working on that script now.....hhmmm Batman comes to Southern California looking for an older (not that much older) woman to help him forget .......hhmmm

Pooka haha yes I saw it. He's such a hilarious character in this one.

I too finished watching episode 7 and it caught me by surprise. Heejin's revelation completely surprised me. Now things are starting to make sense at last...

The problem is where will this put our poor Sam Soon? (rhetorical)

It was good to see all the characters opening up, however Sam Soon as usual is getting second fiddle treatment. I can't believe Heon just dumped her and left her out in the roads in the middle of nowhere!

I also agree about Chef Lee and SS's sister scenes. Those two are hilarious and I hope we see more of them! Who would have thought Ms Ha from Secret would be this funny!

Ok ,I cheated .My solution : I will watch episode 7 & 8 again today !! No problem ! I didn't even recognize Ms Ha from Secret .She is a lot prettier in this one . Do you think she & the chef could end together ? That would be a hoot.
I agree with SR .Hee Jin's story makes a lot of pieces fall into place. I wish shw would have tole JH the truth > He still would have had a lot of emotional pain,but of a different kind .The kind without anger & bitterness thrown in .
KSS is really an appealling character ,and her call re her dad choked me up ,too . It was heart breaking to see her left on the road . I did love her scene with Henry though .

Pooka - I got it all worked out .We should have a CJK convention @ Disneyland ( everybody want to go there ) We could invite Batman to be the keynote speaker .The topic: "Kissing in Kdramas: not just for 10 year olds anymore ?"
You could pitch your movie idea @ that time .Your (slightly) older female idea is a la KSS,and in "Snow White AKA Taste Sweet Love " the heroine was 5 or 6 years older than the hero > So,it's an idea who's time has come . If that fails ,just have a kissing contest and tell him the proceeds are for charity emoticon

To be honest prior to this I was a little annoyed by both Henry's and Hee Jin's character. But now I'm finally starting to warm up to their characters.

The sad part is after episode 7, the story has shifted to a love triangle...someone will probably get hurt.
