Always Current Discussions of Different K-Dramas: K-DRAMA VIDEO CLUB!
I am surprised it was the President who asked HJ to leave and now don't want her at all. I think if HJ have reported to the President before meeting JH, it may have a better result.
pooka, after the np tp scene, SS spoke out loud that the veggies is good for piles to JH. He was so embarrassed. hehe
How different blood type handles no tp ...:
Type A - Patient and introvert - wait for cleaning lady to help
Type B - Full of confidence, believed that he can solved anything with 2 fingers
Type AB- Pick used toilet paper from the bin
Type O - Just walks out
Samsoon says she will use her socks

Oooh, weren't they tricky to give us outtakes instead of previews? Very sneaky.
Well, like many strong women, given a giant setback, Sam-Soon went out and had a giant makeover! Knowing she looks great, she goes back out into the world and registers for her new name and even tries another arranged date. And even the date from hell turns golden when Mr. Right appears for the 2nd time! Only to be ruined again by Mr. Cute-and-Confused, who's lately been losing sleep over our girl. He deserved to catch a good headful of her purse, if you ask me. He follows her all the way home on the bus and is finally pushed into saying some pretty surprising words, especially for a guy who just asked Hee Jin if he should move in with her.

Re: Always Current Discussions of Different K-Dramas: K-DRAMA VIDEO CLUB!
I was so sure that her ex-BF would be the one to walk in a crash her second blind date. That poor blind date. I think KSS really starting to convince him HJ was nuts, but not so much that he was concerned about her enough to follow when he pulled her away from the table. The stuff about her being pregnant was too funny! Another part that really made me laugh was the psycho stuffed pig. The way it flew through the air in his dream to attack him and for him to only wake up cuddling it. Then he tried to give it away and the little girl said he was weird. Didn't he mumble something about her being like KSS

Re: Always Current Discussions of Different K-Dramas: K-DRAMA VIDEO CLUB!
It's definitely time for some background from the fabulous fendercat on Episode 10! These are from his comments on the MNIKSS thread, pg. 26:
21:26) 'You should at least get a bag and wrap it up before dumping it' - Actually it's illegal in Korea to dump trashes without wrapping them with an official trash bag. (re: Sam Shik trying to throw away the piggie)
27:30) 'The Han word is Kim Hee...' - 'The Han word' means Chinese characters. Koreans used Chinese characters for long time despite their spoken language has always been Korean. Noticing the problem of different spoken and written language, the King Sei Jong invented unique Korean character system 'Hangul' in 1443 with his researchers. This move was opposed strongly at first by Confucians who regarded Chinese letters to be part of their tradition. This kind of thought persists through very recent times, so still many elders tend to mix Chinese characters with Hangul when they write something important (like official papers as shown here).
The reason why they require Chinese letter form of one's name is because it's on national identification cards. They tried to remove it when the design of the cards revised recently, but the traditionalist prime minister strongly opposed the plan. Anyway, younger generation don't know much about Chinese letters, and mixing them with Hangul has never been practical and almost meaningless (it's just like writing in English but use Latin word whenever possible). It's far better to study Chinese from the start since those Chinese letters used in Korea generally differs those used in China both in form and in pronunciation.
(28:33) 'with a face of good fortune' - it's a round about way of talking which means 'you're chubby' but it's used in comforting manner here. As explained earlier, they didn't have much to eat in old times so someone who eats much or is chubby was thought to be in 'good fortune'.
(30:28) About the last minute change of the name - The name written on the paper before she changed it to 'Kim Hee Jin' was 'Kim Ho Ra' which sounds even more strange than 'Sam Soon'. I suppose she chose that name only because she knew Chinese letters for 'Ho' and 'Ra' (she hesitated because she didn't know the right letter for 'Jin' before) but as she remembers the correct Chinese spelling for 'Hee Jin' now, she changed it in the last chance.
40:53) 'Your hair looks very good, did Kim Soon do this for you?' - 'Keum Soon' is a character from a contemporary TV drama <Be Strong, Keum Soon!>. She's working as a hair dresser in the drama and has '-Soon' name like KSS. BTW, as this backward sounding name indicates, the title of the drama is from a popular song of 50s which became a movie in 1962 and again in 2002 (completely different storyline).
(41:08) 'Actually the assistant head stylist wanted do my hair' - 'the assistant head stylist' is also a character from the same drama.
(47:05) About the food - urg... I hate it! It's basically kind of octopus (bit different species though) seasoned with large amount of red pepper. It's so hot that I couldn't feel any taste beside pain when I ate it. The second dish was a 'live octopus' which is dishful of squirming tentacles freshly cut off from an octopus. I suppose they tried to substitute something else for it because what is shown in close up is clearly not squirming or even looks like a tentacle. Maybe they thought it might not be appropriate material to show on TV. There're lot of controversies outside of Korea for a scene where the lead actor gulped down a live octopus in movie <Old Boy>(one of my favorite ). BTW, there're a few people suffocated to death by eating a live octopus almost every year. Live octopus don't have any special taste IMO, but the feel from moving and sucking of a tentacle is quite interesting.
Yeeeccchhhhh! IMHO.
