I've been a very very bad Buppy! I've gotten a bit ahead and am now on episode 10! Yikes! Gotta stop now or else I'll be too far ahead of everyone! It's just getting so interesting. Some weird stuff happening in episode 8 but let's talk about that later tonight!

I totally understand how that could happen,buppy .It happened with me with MNIKSS . Now ,though, I find I can only watch 90min of TV/day .I watch Green rose and Bizarre Bunch .That's all I've had time for - so my TV viewing is all in Korean lately  I don't think I'll have time for Attic Cat - though I'd really like to see it .
Episode 8 continues to build in suspense . I get the creeps now when I see Shin ,especially when he gave SooAH a birthday party .I laugh everytime I see him in the shower- he is so not good looking ....but I was thinking about the list somebody made about Kdramas. Let's see- shower scene (Check)piggyback ride (check- I quite enjoy those ) humidifier @ bedside in the hospital (check - what is up with that ?  )
Anyway ,after Shin spent the night with Yoo Ran,he told her to meet someone @ o' dark thirty to get her passport & tickets .It was a setup,but the Chinese thugs would not kill her- they just roughed her up .She has totally joined our side now ,and said that Shin is responsible ,but she doesn't have alot of concrete evidence .
The four of them (incl. the young boy and the other Korean ) team up to save this rich Chinese man who was being kidnapped for ransom.Perhaps he can use some influence to help all of these people .
the previews showed a completely spoony JH - OWWW ! And I'm finding the theme music to be very haunting . I guess now Shin thinks YR is dead .BTW, shin has total control of the co ,he has sent Suh to europe !!

Then I found out that he is a very popular young actor and has the most beautiful smile. So I had to see Green Rose just to see more of him. But he's not showing up too dreamy just yet.
Just finished Eps. 7 & 8. That Shin is such a "sleaze" of the highest level! He can be so smooth as he weaves his web of deceit.
The interesting thing that was said in Eps. 7 from Yoo-ran was how it was important to know one's station in life, and she knew how high she could climb. She was inferring that JH became a victim because he was out of his league as being the boyfriend of the chairman's daughter. JH and his mother also felt uncomfortable once they realized who Soo-ra was. This theme pervades numerous kdramas, in that the poor folks are looked down upon by the rich, and they are further despised if they appear to be trying to achieve a higher station, either through hard work or by association with the wealthy.
In Eps. 8, I have begun to wonder if YR has nine lives! She keeps bouncing back from trouble! Shin is a scumball, but I just love watching him in action! I'm really distracted by his eyebrows and lips! 
Anyway, they thought they might have a chance to get back to Korea with the help of that wealthy man they saved, but the episode ended with orders to lock them up. I'll have to try and sneak in Eps. 9 tonight just to satisfy my curiousity of what will happen to this little vagabond group.
Another off the wall observation is those close up shots of the actors do not do them justice because it shows their extremely bad skin! Yikes, blemishes raging under the thick pancake makeup! It was very apparent with YR, then SR, and JH.

Sumz, totally agree on the bad skin and pancake makeup. The lighting is just too harsh! Even beautiful Soo Ah was looking kinda pore-y in some shots. And yes, I too find Shin's lips distracting! They are just too full. His face is a little angular but the lush lips are a little Mr. Potato-y against his face!
I thought episode 8 was quite strange and out of theme. The whole fight scene was cartoonish almost and just a little out of place considering how serious and melodramatic this series is. At least though, things really start to look up for JH by episode 9. What a relief!!
I'm really afraid of the ending here. I have Emperor of the Sea Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and I am getting some flashbacks to Goong Bok and Emperor of the Sea with the new Chinese name, the initial hardships, and the illustrious success in the middle of the series....I hope that doesn't mean everyone dies in the end!! If that happens I'm gonna be really steamed! I should check to see if the director or screenwriter are different people.

I just finished episode 9 ,and i continue to love this drama .It's wierd ,but when we first started talking about Green Rose ,I didn't think I would be that interested ...but ,boy was I wrong . It continues to get better & better . I wouldn't dream of changing the lists of the forthcoming K drama video club selections ,but when we finish out current list ,I think we ought to revisit the oprion of watching Rebirth/Resurrection. I didn't realize I like this genre so well.
Anyway , JH & the gang have save Chairman Qin from a rival gang attack . When the smoke clears ,Qin repays them all handsomely by making them part of his entourage .JH wants to leave right away ,but Qin asks for 3 years .It turns into an apprenticeship of sorts ,and I feel that time was well spent ,Qin gives JH a new Chinese name and identity .Jang,Joon Won. The meaning is very interesting - I only remember the part about carrying a heavy burden .
On a side note,it was interesting hearing Mandarin spoken . I am so used to listening to Korean . All the actors ,esp JH appeared to be pretty comfortable speaking it.
Over the 3 years ,Shin has been busy .He got rid of his puppet president ,and is now in charge .Suh is nowhere in sight .He has been after SooAh for 3 years ,and I guess is weakening.I don't think she loves him ,but he's persistant .Folks ! Even if he wasn't an evil slimebag- there is no way !!! He is so not spoony ! If he were the last man on the earth - I would ( but I digress )
The Co that Qin owns is looking for international partners ,so JH- I mean JW will go as the negotiator .This is the first time they all go back to Korea .Yoo Ran goes too in disguise - and she is bent on revenge. I think Revenge could be sweet in this case ,but JH/JW 's main goal is to prove his innocence.Shin has seen JW and really freaked ,but Jw did not show one flicker of recognition
I,for one, really want to see Shin get his .

Ok ,I'm back after watching episode 10 . This like a book that i can't put down,but I am determined to stick to the schedule . The group is still in Seoul ,and have discovered a link between Shin and Attorney Yoo ,and Yoo Ran is pursuing it .
Shin is incredible - he continues to ask SooAh to marry him ,wants to buy her a palatial house for them to live with her father . What colossal cajones !
Meanwhile ,SooAh got a look @ JoongWon ,and she is shaken by it .She has run after him more than once,but he retains a zen like calm around her .Of course,in private he is suffering
Yoo Ran also told JH that Shin is after SooAh ,so maybe this will pick up the pace of the whole operation .
BTW,the chairman is still in a coma ,so I guess ,after 3 years he won't be able to help with innocence or guilt of anybody .
Some eps have more action than others ,and other eps have moments .No matter what - this story does not drag .
