could you please explain to me why Lee Haien's dad doesn't like sukhyun...the enigma of their love interest keeps me glued with this series...I am for kiwoong-Haein and sukhyun-jongnam pairings...

This show feels disjointed somehow.
How did JongNam meet up with Sukhyun in the first place? One scene we see the family having dinner and Sukhyun saying to his mother that he may have to leave early, then we see SiWoong's mom lamenting about her son getting a job at the shopping network, then we see JongNam helping Sukhyun out of the bar into a taxi.
Why did Sukhyun go to that bar? How did he end up to be in JongNam's charge?
That pee-ing scene while Sukhyun is on JongNam's back is a copycat. First time on MNIKSS was funny, but this time, I just think the writers of this show are lazy. Besides, it's not possible for JongNam to carry Sukhyun on her back! She is the half the size of him!
Something is not right about this show. It feels like everyone is just reading their lines. You can feel that the actors are acting and they are not believable as a family. We shall see if it improves with time.

OK<after watching this show for 2 weeks,I feel I can answer "nuypi's" question.
Haien's parents are opposed to Sukyun because they are afraid he will be just like HIS father (the guy with the 9 affairs) I don't feel a romance with those two, but S' mom is definitely trying to arrange a marriage with SOMEONE.
In the meantime,there are a lot of sparks btween Jangnam & Sukhyun ..even if they are negative.These two bear watching. Sukhyun is starting to appear more human ie saving the dog,and trying to make up for the studio incident. Maybe he was worried just about getting in trouble,but I don't think so.
As far as Ki-woong & Haien go, It's obvious that K likes H,but H thinks of him only as a friend.She invited him on a date,and introduced him to one of her friends. K appears to be the character with the 'pure heart " in this story.
I think the rest of the characters will serve as backdrop to these main 4.
I am starting to get into it, I just wish the writers would get over the urinary incontinence jokes .They are getting old.
MSMD people ! When are you going to start posting here ? BTW ,I was hooked on MSMD from the 1st episode,but I had a lot of trouble sticking with "MPC"...I even really got into that too. Hope to see some discussion on here !

My favorite character, so far, is Jongnam, mostly because the actress has such a unique style to her acting method that her character jumps right off the screen as something new and refreshing to me.
Go Joo Won's face and his character (Sukhyun) don't seem to match very well to me yet. His expressions are rather sweet and innocent looking, but he's playing such a spoiled, ****y, even somewhat heartless sort of guy. He'll soften up, though, and I was relieved to see that his conscience wouldn't permit him to leave the little dog on the curbside.
Kiwoong is a little disappointing to me so far because I really like that actor and I don't care for seeing him play such a naive simpleton—though he plays that role very well. Kiwoong is a good-hearted person, probably a chip off the old block, like his father, who doesn't seem all that swift either, yet a very decent, good man.
It always tears me up to see innocent guys like Kiwoong toyed with by women like Haein, who are either blind to how they are leading him on, or else are just having fun teasing him. I have no patience with people who lead on a sincere, trusting guy like Kiwoong, regardless of their motives. It only leads to deeply hurting the poor guy in the end.
Kiwoong's mother must have a story of her own. She is so beat down, depressed, and sad in her life—her MIL doesn't do her ego any favors, either, always putting down her DIL and worshipping the ground Nara walks on (the rich DIL). At least Granny is particularly fond of Kiwoong, it seems. I'd really be upset if this were another one of those dramas where the simple minded, pure of heart grandson is rejected by the Queen Mother.
Lots of families and characters in this one. I've kind of been sitting back waiting for things to settle into a rhythm, or onto the story lines that we'll all sort of focus in on.
I am neither crazy about, nor disliking, this drama yet. I think I've been through so many now, that I've learned to just sit back and not make a general judgment on it until we're a number of weeks into it.

Hopefully ,she is not cruel or manupulative .
I think that this will be a long story,along the lines of MPC...of course,besides MSMD, I don't have any other experiences with the daily dramas. I don't think Haein is going to be cruel or manipulative. My take on her so far is that she just kind of views Kiwoong as a cute little puppy who is attached to her. Nevertheless, in the end the result will be the same as if she were leading him on deliberately, because he mistakes her attentions as romantic interest and he will be very hurt when he learns she never meant any of it that way. Setting up a "date" on Saturday, gifts for his mother, etc., all that should have been clarified instantly from the beginning. Any man would consider that sort of action from her to be personal interest, not platonic.
Yes, you are right that this will be a long story. The "daily dramas" (the ones in this time slot) usually last 6-7 months—sometimes longer. We've got a long way to go!

Hello! First time to post my 2cents here. I like the characters of Haein's parents especially that episode where the husband tested the memory of the wife regarding trash collection and disposal. In my house, I'm probably be the one testing my husband's memory regarding trash. I also like the pairing of Jongnam and Sukhyun. Although Sukhyun's character is a bit arrogant and obnoxious right now, I think when he realize that he is attracted to Jongnam, he will become a nice guy (I hope). The actor doing Kiwoong is just like his character in Letters to Parents. I also saw him on Popcorn where he was a paraplegic on wheel chair. The expression on his face never change. Grandma's character is not too bad. She knows when to accept her mistake of judgement when she confronted the rich DIL and realized that it was her son's fault. She also stopped nagging her poor DIL when she was given the slippers that her DIL bought for herself. However, I have not formed any opinion yet on Haein's character. She acts nice to Kiwoong and her office mates and seems to be efficient in her job.
So, I would be here waiting with you guys for any change of events, roles or characters, through tears and laughters, maybe even hatred or disbelief on some turn of events. Looking forward to a nice, highly-spirited, emotion-filled discussion of The Bizarre Bunch in the next 6 months?
