I'm really getting mixed messages from Sukhyun. He shows up for the parent meeting with Haein. He 'seems' very happy about the engagement to her. He seems as though he really cares. But then he buys Jongnam the clothes. Maybe he did it because it made him feel good because she has always been so poor and, ..... ?

I was also puzzled by Haein. She obviously KNOWS that Kiwoong's family assumes she is Kiwoong's girl. So when she went to Kiwoong's house before, she allowed them to assume she was engaged to Kiwoong. Now of course she is having to lie about it. Pretend to be sick.

I was SO hoping that Haein's aunt would go to the meeting. She needs to know Sukhyun's father is fooling around on his wife. Not that I totally blame him. But he seems to like to pretend he is someone important. He wants to impress a woman (not his wife). Even if he is married to the likes of the scary Nara, he is fooling around because he enjoys the attention he's getting from Haein's aunt. What a dirtbag!

That Jongnam is one spunky girl. And she is very straight forward and honest. Really like her!

I was ready for confrontation last night between Haein and K's family, between Haein's aunt and S' dad, but the writers find found a way to delay that climax. They'll probably think of another cliffhanger. In one of the scenes, when K's mother met H & S together and she ranted to H how ungrateful she is, for a moment I thought that was really happening but apparently, it was only in the imagination of K.
So S bought all of those clothing and footwear for J, not for her to evaluate but for her to wear as a gift from him. Is this gift as a repayment for the cost of the watch that J bought with her hard-earned money or ? Shoes looks good on her.

I got confused last night when I saw the newly engaged couple visiting grandma and then Kiwoong Mother getting so upset about Haein being with Sukhyun. I did not realized that this was being imagined by Kiwoong. He should tell his family the truth. Also, I really not like Jongnam. She has no class and her lack of education shows.

I like Jongnam much more than I like Haein. And I do like Haein (though she is a bit snobby). Jongnam may not be educated but she is honest and true to her beliefs. She doesn't put on airs, or even attempt to. It's not in her. She's the epitomy of 'down to earth'. She says what she feels and she feels very strongly about truth and honesty. She doesn't appreciate someone who tries to act haughty.

I think (now this is just me) Sukhyun bought those things for Jongnam because he has feelings for her that he isn't even aware of. Although he may have just bought her the clothes because he knows she's never had anything. She was brought up in an orphanage. I think Sukhyun respects her honesty and maybe just wanted her to have something really nice.

Emceema--no I'm not Asian, but I have a lot of respect for Asian culture. I asked my Asian friend who is Korean if there was a difference in what they ate at breakfast, lunch, or dinner and he told me no. I'm just amazed at all the side dishes they keep on hand to serve at every meal. My Korean friend told me though that many Koreans who have studied in America come home and have toast for breakfast and jelly--very American. Listen, even Americans eat differently for breakfast--I'm from Florida and there is no breakfast without yummy grits--where I live now it's potatoes with every breakfast. Haing traveled a lot myself, I know there's a whole world out there that doesn't eat bacon and eggs--and that's probably why they are healthier.

Anyway we're far behing you in Philly, but I don't mind reading ahead--we're just at the part where Jongnam gets thrown out of Aunt's house for erasing the phone message from her son.

there's one thing i dun understand : how come kiwoong's mother always gets upset when they're talking about sukhuyn?? the look on her face is totally different when sukhyun is mentioned....she looks sad and always worry about sukhuyn...what's wrong?? why does she care so much about other's child??
it's getting complicated..i wish the aunt had gone to the meeting....urghhh..

This is the c/j/k drama board: Discussing CJK 中日韓 Dramas Available in California, so we cannot stop people discussing what they have seen from the current episodes.

But there are some of us who download episodes currently airing in Korea (which is about 30 episodes ahead of California) and anything discussed there would need to be covered by the spoiler icon.

If you are in Hawaii or from the eastcoast, just know that episode 37 will air tonight and it's not a problem to discuss ep. 37 without the spoiler icon after the episode airs here. If you don't want to read what has been happening beyond the episodes you have watched, don't read the most current page of this thread.

Wow, Merla, are you guys on episode 37--wow we are way behind in Philadelphia. Merla, have they said how many episodes this drama is going to be. I don't about anyone else, but I am so happy not to feel crushed every night before going to bed as I did with MSMD--this one's just fun.
