Re: K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
I think there is some secret there about S. birth as well. I also think MinSook is his mother. I know folks in CA have already seen this but in Tuesday's East Coast episode Nara was visiting Jaeoak telling her she should not take in strangers, somebody else's child (meaning Jongnam) when Jaeoak replied "You, of all people, should know what it is like to raise someone else's child" I mean that gave it away right there - my ears caught that one!
But what puzzles me is the lack of reaction thus far from Jaedo, Kiwoong's dad. Wouldn't or shouldn't he be having some reaction to all of this? I mean, IF (and I know this is a big IF) but IF S is his son as well, wouldn't he know? Wouldn't he have demonstrated something? Even if it was just to his brother or mother?
Also I think Haein needs to get some social skills. I also think she will be paired eventually with KiWoong, but I want him to have someone lively and willing to see the world as a delightful challenge to be explored and enjoyed! She is rather boring.

K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
Okay--I think I have the answer to Sukhyun's birth--based on facts that we know that Ki-woong is the eldest grandchild and Grandma is always saying to Minsook that she should be grateful to Nara: So here is what I think must have happened-- after Jaedo and Minsook got married and had Ki-woong--Jaedo has to fulfill his army duty and is away and Minsook has an affair--so she has to give that baby away--Grandmother told her to give the baby to her sterile sister-in-law and that is how it all happened! WHat do you think?

K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
Good point--I forgot about the Korean bloodline (which I should be fully aware of because I'm watching OMR). But if Sukhyun is adopted there would be no direct bloodline to grandma anyway. So I don't know how it would be that Minsook and Jaedo would give up their legitimate child, and if they did I would think Nara would be kinder to the family than she has been. It'll be interesting to see what the real truth is--maybe Sukhyun is Jaemin's son by one of his affairs and Nara decided to take him in.

Re: K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
I'm prone to believe that Sukhyun's birth parents are Kiwoong's parents. Kiwoong is the oldest, so the 2nd son can be raised as uncle's only son. In Grandma's mind, the same blood line would still run in the family. It's not unusual for this to happen in Korean dramas. I've seen this exact story in the divorce court series. It's possible for the grandma to persuade Kiwoong's parents to give up their second son because the grandma's argument would be that Nara is wealthy and whoever she adopts will enjoy a life of luxury.
Of course, this is just my own speculation as a likely scenario. However, if Kiwoong's parents are Sukhyun's birth parents, how did they keep this secret from Nara? Perhaps, Nara thinks Sukhyun is the result of her husband's extra- marital affairs?! From what I've seen so far, Nara wouldn't dare to be so blantantly proud of her own son and put down Kiwoong in front of Kiwoong's mother if she knew who Sukhyun's birth parents are.
It'll be interesting to know how the writers will resolve the circumstances surrounding Sukhyun's birth.

Yes, me too Merela--you'd think Nara would be nice to Minsook--but you know grandma is always telling Minsook she should be grateful to Nara--seems to me if Sukhyun is her son she was forced to give him up--it wasn't something they wanted to do.

Re: K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
If K-mom is Sukhyun's bio-mom, I can see Nara wanting to keep Sukhyun away from her, for fear they might develop a relationship. Nara is an extremely jealous, controlling woman. Why did she she have to make sure that Sukhyun was separated from K-mom as soon as possible, thus the emergency call to Sukhyun?
Nara's basic conduct has always been to keep her son completely away from Kiwoong's family. Even in this incident, the bottom line to Nara was that K-mom would make breakfast for Sukhyun, then talk about Kiwoong's success in his sushi sales. She doesn't want Kiwoong to succeed, at least in her company, no matter how good he is at making money for her!
I think Nara is, on some level, jealous of K-mom's warm family life (created by K-mom), worrying that Sukhyun might be drawn to that warmth. But also, Nara has something going on towards Kiwoong. I am also somewhat puzzled by Grandmother's special feelings toward Kiwoong—moreso than she is towards Sukhyun. That seems a little odd to me (though Kiwoong is certainly deserving of that love), especially since so many women in these dramas seem to favor their sons' or grandsons' material wealth and social standing over everything else. (My son the lawyer; my son the doctor....)

Can spmebody please show me how to check the message board when somebody responds to my comments???If you wish to receive an email notification that someone has posted a new reply in a particular topic (such as this drama), go to the bottom of the page, beneath the "quick reply" box. There you will see a little check box with the word "Notify" to the right of it. If you check (click on) that box, you will receive an email notice that someone has just posted in this thread.
In the email however, it will give a discussion number, not the name of the drama. If you have subscribed to several different drama topics, you can see the number associated with each drama. Then you can recognize which number belongs to each drama thread.
Also, many email programs see these notifications as spam, so if you don't see the notices showing up in your inbox, check your junk mail file.
I hope this is the information you are looking for, AteOyie. If not, ask again, or PM/email me.
