I still think Jae-doh is the biological father--look at In-Young's father in MSMD--he had a child out of wedlock who he raised--and he was a good man and married when it happened. I think it is more accepting for men to have affairs in Korea than it is for the woman. Interesting revelation/thought on Jae-doh.
And, yep, you're right. It is more accepting for men to have affairs in Korea, and yet, very taboo for women to commit adultery.

My only complaint: who the heck is doing his wardrobe???? They have him in lavender, in velvet, in a 3/4 length black and white check coat with a belt-- did someone forget that he has a Y chromosome???I know, it's so sad seeing how Sukhyun is dressed. Unfortunately, in Korea, men's popular fashion today is like THAT. Blahhh...
Everytime I visit my cousins in Korea, they are soooooo excited seeing me in my American brand clothes. I get shell-shocked checking out what's "in" for my "Korean peeps." Ack! But here's the funny thing about Korea and the rest of Asia. Sometimes, they're in a time warp. I swear. They just LOVE the '80s and don't want to let it go! =) Sad, but true.

Thanks, guys, for filling in the details on the Granny pronouncement scene and Sukhyun's exciting date with Haein! class blockquote pmellia wrote:
If Sukhyun and Jongnam end up together in the end, isn't is kinda of odd since they are practically cousins? I'm not so sure about this but is it normal for Korean culture because here in America, I'm pretty sure that's not allowed.
This has been bothering me for quite a while now and I wish for it to be answered. They aren't related by blood and is Jongnam even legally adopted by the aunt? Even if she were, I can't see that it would be anything that couldn't be fixed up if she wanted to marry Sukhyun. There would not be any problem with them marrying in the USA. Even here, some states still permit marriages as close as between first cousins, and I suspect all states allow marriages between second cousins.
In Western civilization, the legal prohibitions are to prevent people with the same family gene pool from concentrating that gene pool further, because children born from in-bred gene pools that are too similar (e.g., brothers and sisters) are successively weakened by inheriting the diseases and malformities that are found within that family's genetic structure.
Great answer, nchristi! You sound like a doctor. So with Jongnam not being a blood-relative, a potential marriage between her and Sukhyun would be totally okay by Korean standards. Jongnam is a family friend really.
Good reason of concern, pmellia. The Bizarre Bunch is pretty bizarre, eh? Sometimes, a series with so many characters can be a bit confusing.

Jae-man gets my vote for most outre fashion sense. I remember one scene where he's wearing a pink sweater, and baggy pink satin pants. At first I thought they were pajamas.

I just thought it was pretty bizzare if you know what I mean. So, this means that they will most likely end up together in the end. Thanks Korean Scorpio. BB is B.
One of the most annoying things in this show is when Jongnam and Sukhyun hang out, and then Haein finds out and throws a fit. It's very annoying. More annoying than nails on a chalkboard. I mean, it's so time consuming and unneccesary. It shortens the chances of other characters to appear in the episode. Like for example, seeing Kiwoong and Jongnam. They should show characters that are actually enjoyable.

K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
NChristi, as usual, is totally correct about cousins being able to be married in the US. The only restriction in some states is against first cousin marriage--after that there is no prohibition. Take Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt--they were cousins(not first though). Among the wealthy and influential in America and England there was a tradition of marrying a family relative in order to keep the money together in the 19th century--early 20th century.
Sukhyun is so mesmerizied by Jongam--but last night when his aunt called Jongam cute and asked Sukhyun if he thought she was cute--he replied no. I think she is such a curiosity for him. And Haein is what his mother expects of him. Remember he told his mother he would never disappoint her. Poor guy.

Re: K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
Right there w/you emceema - -
"Aaargh! I hate the ending of Friday nite's ep. S . . ."
Jongnam looked beautiful, and, she also had that great picnic lunch prepared for S! 'Tho, they showed Jongnam w/beautiful smiling face (as if she saw him arriving) . . . soooooo, I'm hoping he at least drives up to the entrance and sees beautiful Jongnam waiting, then tells her he can't stay . . . at least, her efforts towards her appearance would not be totally wasted . . . Haein is such an annoying person; she spoiled my Fri. mood . . .
Oh . . . a word about the fashions . . . the absolute worst is S's father -- what about that blue (ladies?) coat he was trying to get his wife to sew a button on? But, then, it's all part of the plan . . . the quirky male fashions add to the bizarre theme!
I give Sukhyun a "10" for at least having the courage to wear some of the funky 80's stuff (which is now new again this Spring/Summer). And, the 'red' jacket Jongnam wore was awesome -- major designer piece, as are some of the other articles she wears.

K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
I bet the writers had a great time leaving that cliff hanger--of course he won't be able to go to the amusement park--he has to help his fiance. Emceema--I hate weekends too--no drama to watch--seems like a million years till I get to see the drama OMR and BB again.

Professor972 . . . OMR -- a super drama . . . are you into the angst stuff, yet?
I, too, miss the dramas on the weekend. More, and more, they are not subtitling -- guess they don't care if they lose half their audience . . . the new Fri night drama here -- no subs! There is only one Winter Sonata -- the only drama I would EVER sit thru for no subs! Actually . . . if Kwon Sang Woo's dramas have no subs, I think I could be convinced to watch, if no subs . . . .
