Re: K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
hi purrplelilies...welcome welcome. love your theory...it's possible...hehe. about kiwoong's father not showing any interest in Sukhyun...that's true. i could figure out why but everytime i was thinking about him and Sukhyun, I kept on remembering Minsook said to her husband in regarding to Sukhyun and Nara that she would never forget what he done to her or something along that line. i thought he had an affair and had Sukhyun but after awhile, he doesn't strike me as someone like that. can't really wait to see that getting resolve.
and man...my heart break everytime i see Sukhyun and Jongnam together or bumped into one another. you could totally tell that Sukhyun really care for her or just really longing to be with her. he seems to look at her with a more loving eyes than when he looks at Haein. and gotta love Jongnam on that comment...hehe. I'm glad that one of them is trying to stay strong about the situation...or at least trying to not causing any scene.
and now with Sukhyun found out that his parents lied to him...i really wonder if he's gonna take a look into this further and not ask them since they would be lying some more. it's getting pretty interesting and tense...hehe.
have a great weekend.

Re: K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
There is the possibility (and after seeing last night's ep, it seems likely) Kiwoong and Sukhyun could be fraternal TWINS -- w/Kiwoong being considered "older" because he was born first! Nara probably 'bought' Sukhyun from them, solving infertility probs w/money -- just as Sukhyun noted, she always solves her probs w/money!
Haein's passive-aggressive behavior is SO annoying; the way she uses 'friendships' (and Sukhyun) to sneakily 'pry'. Have the feeling she'll soon be taking those chopsticks out and letting her hair down to compete with the beautiful Jongnam . . .

K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
What is this strong dislike for Haein who so far has not been nasty or mean. Of course she is suspicious, would not anyone who is given clue after clue. At least wait until something happens.
As for Jongnam and Sukhyun how do they manage to run into each other in almost every episode? They live in a big city and not near each other for this to be such a common occurrence. The writers need to be more concerned with believability of the story line.

purplelilies - W E L C O M E
If we really think about it, a woman like Nara would never even think of giving birth - - such a thing could destroy her looks . . . the pregnancy image is so not her.
emceema, we are definitely an 'analytical' bunch, I'll give you that . . . but it's all fun and good . . . and, so is this cute drama and all the super posters here on board. Superior!!!
pali - just saw your comments -- Haein has yet to show any 'redeeming' qualities . . . she just uses others to accomplish her goals or make her feel superior. As the saying goes, "with friends like that, who needs enemies?" Further, she has absolutely no right to tell Sukhyun who he should like or dislike -- ". . . don't like Jongnam too much . . ." -- really!!!
welllllll, gotta run, "I'm being chased by a Moonshadow, moonshadow . . "

K-Drama: 별난여자, 별난남자 (The Bizarre Bunch/Peculiar Woman,Man)
Actually, Pali, the restaurant which the aunt owns is right in the vicinity of Well-being Home Shopping. That's why Kiwoong is always able to run over there. So it probably isn't that contrived that they would run into each other. And an interesting thing about living in a big city is that you often run into people you know. I lived in NYC for ten years, and I was always encountering someone I knew. I think it happens that way because there are certain areas in any big city, like parks, amusement centers, museums, that most everyone goes to for entertainment. And also Jongnam works at Sukhyun's business some days, in the department that he heads.
It's also a frequent scriptwriting ploy to have people encounter each other a lot--even though it defies logic. It's how they move the story along.
I don't think anyone strongly dislikes Haein--it's more that the writers have prtrayed her in an "unsympathetic" manner, while Jongnam has been painted in a "sympathetic" manner. If Haein were portrayed as a more emotional individual then audiences might respond better to her. And as far as being mean--I think the way she responded to Ki-woong's attempt at a romantic proposal wasn't anything but mean. You cannot fault her just because she doesn't like Ki-woong. But I think you can hold her accountable for responding to Kiwoong with the "you are nothing, you have no ambition, etc, etc." There are kinder ways to let someone down than the way she did, especially since they have history together. If someone I had been friends with for years asked me to marry him, I know I would have been gentle in letting him down, and the reasons I used for the rejection would no way in any stretch of my imagination sound like Haein's.

And as far as the love triangle in this story--I repeat what I said about MSMD--people in love tend to have a problem of the irreconcilable head and heart. Sukhyun's head says the right and expected thing to do is to marry Haein, but his heart says it wants Jongnam (that guy has to be Minsook's child because he has a heart). Ah, how the heart has victimized us all at one time or the other. No wonder poets have written about it for so long: "How can I live without thee; how forgo thy sweet converse, to wander forlon again. Poor Sukhyun--his heart has been wandering all alone for a long time and so has Jongnam's.

It's what I think are the most beautiful lines in poetry--I didn't write it--it is in John Milton's Paradise Lost. It's what Adam says to Eve when he has to make the decision to eat the apple or not. If he doesn't eat of the apple he will be separated from Eve forever.
Sorry, every once in awhile the English professor in me jumps out--I try to keep her under control.
