Anywayzzzz, actor playing Sukhyun's father is real father of the younger, cute guy who sits near Haein in office scenes; he's had only small speaking bits.
as ya' all noted, last night's ep in CA was super -- luv'd the play between Jongnam/Sukhyun -- in fact, the story in their eyes, might be real; intriguing . . . to say the least. Such great acting (?) by both. As for Kiwoong's rebuttal to S's question re Haein, I'm not buying. Kiwoong had far too much time to think about his answer and the look on his face said "Haein" . . . at least, to me!
For all you winter storm bunnies, wish I could trade places  The polar bear in me would prefer to be surrounded by snow and viewing those winter wonderland scenes out my windows, instead of all this greenery -- especially as I view the Winter Olympics over next cpl wks . . . GOoooo Rena Inoue/Baldwin! GOoooo SASHA! . . . and all the super athletes who finally made it! KUDOS to all . . . you're all winners . . . looking forward to next WO, when Japan's fig. sktr. (hopefully) will get her turn at showing the world just what she's got . . .
P.S. Yes -- 15 yr old mod for this brd, is Amazing! . . . what w/we do when he goes off to Japan? Hey, maybe he can meet up with Japan's talented fig. sk. (also, just turned 15!) what do you think, Hiroshi? She's cute and talented!

Nchristi : I love the phrase "delicious and scary" to describe the scene between S/J ! BTW, I think that hat is a bunny hat.
I think everybody knows how I feel about Kiwoong.... (pooka !) ,and I am so glad that he made those comments to Sukyun. He knows that J loves S ,but Jongnam to trying so hard to do what is right and proper. S, on the other hand, keeps looking for ways to see and interact with her. I think he can't help himself...but now he needs to know what he is doing .If  he loves J(lol) he's gonna have to shield her like he after the slap.
It looks like the parentage issue is really going to hit the fan , which brings me to Nara. She is such a pathological liar ! She tells lies about details which don't really matter...so there's no way she won't catch herself up in it. I think we'll all be cheering when that happens !
I think it was Shakespeare who said "oh ,what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive " That was for you ,Prof.
At the end of last night 's ep ,Okdoo was sitting with Haien's parents .She said the cafe was open on Christmas ,and invited them to come. Byongdoo said "we have no other plans ".Meanwhile "Mr Kim was talking to the cafe owner on the phone ,and offered to organize a live concert @ the cafe on Christmas > could it be ?
I wonder if the writers are going to make K go on a blind date, and introduce another female character to the mix.......could be interesting

Well addie it was Sir Walter Scott--but Shakespeare said something like that in Romeo and Juliet--and boy is this ever Romeo and Juliet--only I hope S and J don't end up committing suicide over Nara's objections haha. I love this board--I learn so much from everyone. It warms my heart--and Star catch a plane--you can help me shovel the 12 inches!

I am an English professor; I teach mostly creative writing and research writing, but in getting my doctorate my specialty was Renaissance drama and I wrote my thesis on John Milton and The Zohar--the mystical bible of a sect of Judaism called the Kabbalists or Cabalists or...(there are many spellings).
Addie I wasn't correcting you at all so I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. I loved that you thought of that passage for me and at first I thought yeah that is Shakespeare, but then I remembered it was Sir Walter Scott.
I hope I don't come across as a know-it-all. I learn so much from all of you--more than I could ever offer. So ignore me if I seem like I think I know everything--because I still have so much to learn. And who would have expected that you could add so much to your learning watching Korean dramas. I'm always looking to learn and
emceema: there is no age limit to learning. Last semester I had two students who were in their 60s in my class--and they were my best students.

enceema: I will try to reconstruct the stairwell scene .S was waiting ,and J came to her own door.She tried to go in ,but he kept asking her to talk. She even said "does your mother know you are here ? Did you get her permission ? Finally ,he grabbed her arm ,and said I waited for you ,please be considerate "
He took her to a club where there was a classical (cello) trio playing .They both had drinks @ the bar.S said it was the place he like to come when he wanted to drink by himself .J said "is that what you wanted to talk about ?(trying to keep it businesslike)
S then started to tell J how sorry he was,that he was apologizing for his mom....that violence should not have been used .
J replied that she was sorry too,that his mom had hurt her back because of her, and that she (J ) did not know how to talk to adults so there were many misunderstandings.
S said he was not asking her to criticize herself. J said let's not give this another thought .There is now no reason for us to meet again.S looked startled ,then his phone rings :it is Haien. While he is talking to H (incidently telling her that he is drinking with friends ) J slips away.
When S returns to the bar,the bartender tells him that J had to leave .He then asks S to play the cello. We then see J walking ,and @ the bus stop-tears in her eyes. We see S playing the cello. It is sad music.

They could secretly come back to Korea and secretly raise Sukhyun for a while, then tell the world later that Nara had brought him back after a year. class li Or, perhaps Nara herself had a miscarriage in U.S., Minsook and hubby couldn't afford a second child at the time, so they secretly made a deal with Nara and her husband to take "Sukhyun" and raise him. class li Do we know the age difference between Sukhyun and Kiwoong? (Kiwoong is clearly older in the baby pictures, but do you think it is a year's difference? Or less? Seems less to me.) class li Then, there is the "moon" conception dream—indicating a girl was born class li Do we know how old Jongnam is? (Could she be related somehow and given away to an orphanage? Maybe Nara traded her for Sukhyun?) class li Minsook - She is obviously unhappy and sad to the core over something and it seems reasonable that it would be over the loss of a child (or giving one away even to a close relative) class li Since Haein's mother is a childhood friend of Nara's, she must know an awful lot about her. Maybe Nara got pregnant while unwed or at an inconvenient time, gave birth to Kiwoong and Minsook took him to raise as her own. Later, when Minsook gave birth to Sukhyun, she gave him to Nara as a fair swap.This is making my brain tired! yes I am a cat lover. I have a Siamese. And purple is my favorite color. I really wish that the bombshell about SukHyun's origins would come out. The speculations are driving me up a wall. If anyone has access and understanding of the episodes fresh from KBS I would be soooo grateful if you sent me summaries and spoilers. As an only child, I never quite got the hang of patience.
