I know that phrase and can romanize it for you as Tangshin-i cho-a-yo , which translates according to my Korean male friend as I like you in a romantic way. Or the short version Saranghae--of course my romanizing it may be slightly different than other spellings. My friend said that I love you is said in different ways depending on to whom you are speaking--unlike English where it's I love you to anyone, really. That must really confuse Koreans who are learning English.

I feel like between Kdramas & dvds I am being immersed in the Korean language .I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels like I'm picking up a lot .
It would be a plus to be able to understand more ,then we wouldn't be as dependant on the subtitles.
Here's MY 2 cents on MSMD : I feel they kept us on the edge til the very last minute . When Kijoon went to that party ,he didn't approach IY @ first.When he did ,he said'"Are you glad to see me ?" The fact that IY said yes and made eye contact was good enough for me . Then they danced (and got closer & closer ).When they went outside , They hugged til the end >IY would never have done that if she hadn't decided to go back to KJ. What an inscrutable character ! I had lost patience with her.
Interesting though...I never connected Kijoong & Kiwoong.
It's a given that if S/H break up ,and S/J start dating ,Nara would oppose them .S would have to defy her ,and somehow,I don't think it will be as hard as it would be if he didn't know they aren't really his parents

Yeahh I'm going to keep my eyes on those similarities with MSMD Addie. There seem to be a lot of name/ person similarities... Haein... Heejoo... Dajung... Mijung... Chung Jaedo... Chung Jaemin... It's all probably unnecessary... but interesting food for thought.
The Korean language and culture has SOOO intruiged me. I was initially interested in Japanese culture and language... and somewhat still am... but Korean women.. OHHH MY GOSH! Soo beautiful. I mean... I've seen a lot of hot Japanese women... but the only Japanese show that comes on... Fujisankei... doen'st have subtitles. The K-dramas... which are infinitely more entertaining... do have subtitles... and I can learn from that... which I have been doing. I have a Korean friend... and he finds it... funny. He told me Korean women like it when a guy bothers (I wouldn't consider it being bothered in my opinion) to learn the language and what not. That makes me happy. 8-)
The BB is so well done so far... I really hope one day they make DVD's for the drama... I have a terrible feeling I'll miss a lot when I go off to college. Oh well... that's the way life is...

I would also like to see something develop between Cinder Park and "Go,PP" but one thing I have noticed in the dramas I have seen so far is very little goes on beyond the main characters.
I really enjoyed the little "song and dance" KiWoong and JongNam (later joined by DaJung) did as punishment in Fridays (LA) episode as much as the family did. Can someone tell me just what they were singing? It was sooo cute.

Good observations Addie! What kind of names are PP? I think it's some sort of job position.
Addie... I agree... if it is true that Nara isn't Sukhyun's birth mother... then all her oppositions to a possible Sukhyun/Jongnam marriage become invalidated. Maybe that's how this will all be revealed. Perhaps grandma will continue to be firm in her refusal to allow a Sukhyun/ Jongnam marriage... and Sukhyun will probably take her advice and... find a new woman... Jongnam. Sukhyun really does appear to be growing apart from Haein. He's always on cloud 9 when she's talking to him... he never appears interested in anything she's saying... she's boring. She wants to go to FLORIDA for a HONEYMOON! You go to Florida for a summer vacation... not something as memorable as a Honeymoon. Maybe Florida Keys would be good... but... I'm sure she's heard of Hawaii. C'mon Haein... I expected better from you... well... maybe not.
I really do like Sukhyun's personality. Beyond all of his proffesional fronts (i.e.... all the arrogance and pride he suffers from as a result of his hard work and studying (it's hard for Koreans to learn English from what I hear!)...)... he's a nice guy that cares. He's not afraid to get physical... as he demosnstrated to us when he fought off those goons trying to pick on Haein after the accident... he's got a heart. He was able to feel bad for what he did to Kiwoong's mom right after he was socked. That's not easy for many people to do... as anger is often a very controlling emotion. I really hope he'll be able to overcome the pain of his parentage once he finds out. Happy Watching!

I haven't seen that episode yet--but I think he's a lot better than he was at the start--he's not girly now. Heh, Florida's a great place for a honeymoon. I was born in Pensacola, Florida, and there are no more beautiful beaches in the whole world.
Te sands are as white as sugar--clean beautiful--oh why did I move up North!
