I'm not sure I would be in it for the long haul, but I'm willing to check out some of the first few episodes. It is great to see the "Jongtae" actor again. The pictures definitely make it look like a much lighter show than the previous one.

YEAH! It is nice to have something that looks a bit lighter and made me laugh in this time slot. I am so worn out after that mess of a show before this one. emoticon

Jongtae ( I don't know his new name yet) looks nice and I also noticed the actor who playe Tae Ja in Something of 1% (he is the brother/friend of Jongtae's character in this one) and the actor who played Kyung's brother in Ruler Of Your Own World (he is the cheating husband here). Nice to see them in another show.

Hopefully we are off to a good start here. emoticon

In the beginning of this show was the lady outside the bid place, the one with the gangsters, the cleaning woman from PIH that told Gukhwa and Yunhu to have an "accident". Her face looked familiar and I've been trying to place her face to a character.

Okay maybe that is who I was thinking of. What part was she playing? Now I HAVE to watch tomorrow just to try to figure out the familiar faces that kept popping up.

I'm not real certain, but it seemed like Bokja was amongst the group of Ajummas that was gathered together talking around a table in some kind of an eatery just as I moved myself from my computer to my tv about a minute or two after the show began.

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

Well, the lady that just 'bought' the house played the sister of TG (Sky) in another drama but I forgot the name of it... I think it was on before MSMD.

So, we start out with some dirtbag husband having an affair. And his wife it out there trying to get them a house so he can have his own room/office. She's living with both her mother and her MIL.

At least this one seems less boring than the last 3... I love seeing Jongtae again. He looks like a main character too.

Ok, one down and.... how many to go??? Any idea of the number of eps?

'Jongtae' apparently doesn't have a name yet...the Aunt nor the guy he was with called him by name.

Character names that I got from watching the first ep:
Wife = Nah (or is it Noh) Onim
Cheating husband = Jaegwang [not sure if I got the spelling down right]
their daughter = Sarang
female celeb whom cheating husband is having an affair w/: Yuran [can't recall her last name]
'Jongtae''s father = T___ [my mind's slipping, I can't seem to recall it now]

Korea is currently on episode 137. Have we seen one of these TV Novels in this time slot that has fewer than 150 episodes? It seems they're all 150-170+ and run 6-9 months.

If anyone out there can read Korean, they can probably see the total number on the Korean homepage linked in the first post above. I can only figure out the episode number they are currently viewing.

That husband had a lot of nerves, it is bad enough that him and his mom is living off of the labor of his wife. How did he buy that lady on the side a necklace? I'll be glad when he is found out though I know the lead lady will be hurt. She seems over the moon for him. Had to laugh at that dream sequence.

After skipping the last 7:30 show, I have to say this already has me hooked. Its a great show to balance the seriousness of Sky/Earth. It kind of reminds me of Second Proposal because this starts with an affair too. Hopefully Onim won't have to go throught the heartache that the lead lady went through in SP.

The mother-in-law looks familiar, but I can't place what drama I've seen her in. All the others are new to me. Looks like the kid will add some interesting elements to the series.

So the prodigal son's name is Uchan? I think I caught that name.

I really hope the cheating husband doesn't weasel his way out of this but I just know he will. Onim seems blind to his faults and he seems blind to her positive traits. I guess this was an affair waiting to happen since he seem to have married her on the rebound (at least that is what that flashback seemed to point out)

Re: K-Drama: (Here Comes Ajumma)

I'm really sorry but I could have done without the potty humor.

Uchan called that woman that is married to his father Aunt. BUt wouldn't she be 'Mother'? I am shocked how that woman (Aunt) looks. I saw her in that drama where she was married to that older man and they had the mentally challenged son. SHe loooked so harsh in that. She actually looks beautiful in this one.

Uchan has a girlfriend he lost? I guess because pops wouldn't agree to them marrying? Why didn't they just get married anyway? They were living together!! I wonder if he's gonna go looking for her. He said they were together two years and that someone told him true love lasted two years and he hinted that he didn't love her anymore because that was true about the two years. But he did also say he didn't know where she was. Like maybe he did still have feelings for her.

Onin is truly blind if she finds anything attractive about her worthless husband. He isn't even good looking. He doesn't help support the family. HIs mother lives with them and she doesn't bring in any money. Is Onin the only one working?

I do have to agree that this one is starting off pretty good. Not boring at all..

I have a strange feeling scenes were cut out from EP 2? Out of the blue cheating husband is 2gether w/ his '1st love' when she had immediately moved out from her previous home several scenes before??? And him recalling her telling him bout not wanting to be like his wife.

Well, it was a piece of junk! He told her it was "not expensive." He sure is a moron! What woman wants a gaudy thing like that and then to be told it isn't expensive! Probably really cheap costume jewelry he bought at a street stand! class blockquote nsheldon wrote:

My understanding is that "Aunt" is the sister of Uchan's mother (his dad's deceased wife) and that Aunt is not married to Dad. Towards the end of last night, there was that sharp exchange between Uchan and Aunt questioning whether she was blaming him (Uchan) for his father never remarrying. Uchan said that his dad never remarried because she (Aunt) has been at his side for the last 20 years. I took that to mean that there wasn't any reason for Dad to ever remarry because Aunt was always there in a wife's role. Not that they had a physical relationship necessarily, but that Aunt loves him and stayed by him all these years. (Or maybe they are intimate. ??) Edit: I take that back. She calls Dad "yobo," so they must be living together as a man and woman.

Once again, I'm going to have to sit back and give this drama some time. I'm already interested in the Uchan/Aunt/Dad story. I guess Uchan will probably meet up with the lead ajumma (Onim, is that her name?), since she's the housekeeper/cook for his brother (?). Her marriage with the moron prof will probably end and we'll see something develop between Onim and another man. Just a guess since their lives are about to cross paths.

The lead ajumma's household is very annoying to me. I am so tired of the silly power struggles between mothers and all the bickering forced upon us constantly.

I thought the little fad of "potty humor" had worked it's way out of K-drama and had been flushed away as passé—but no such luck. This was the stupidest, most classless example yet. I wonder if this is seen as cutting edge funny in Korea? I wish they'd wipe it out of their K-drama repertoire...
