Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
Oh no! I see I have missed a lot over the past couple of weeks that I was away. When did DG deside he like Il-hong? Why is he marrying AY? How did that happen? He never even gives her the time of day.
Yeah, during the first few episodes I thought they would end up together, but fast forward, he still has no respect for her and speaks to her as if she is a child.
Oh well. Too bad no Friday night show.

K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
I think, several episodes back, when Ayeong propositioned DG with a "for show only" marriage, he saw his way out of an emotional attachment. Also, at that point, he hadn't realized he was falling in love with Ilhong, and his Father was nagging at him to get married. But it seems to be a running theme in K-Dramas that the wrong people are matched up by well meaning but mis-guided parents. But there seems to be a national weakness to "just say no!" It's like, they get engaged first, then see if they can fall in love. But I guess that's the plot, how to get out of a miserable situation. off topic, I love to see all the clothes on these shows, both modern and historical, whoever does costuming is wonderful!!

I think Ilhong was just trying to validate her daughters feelings. She knows that in time she will recognize the improbability of there ever being a romantic relationship between them but for now, acknowledging her daughters feelings, IMHO, was a kind and nurturing move.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
I think I've finally given up on Namgi—at least for a long while. He is such a jerk. I've lost all patience with him. He will have to make some mighty big changes, but where there's no sense, there's no feeling.
The older daughter and DG - My first "real love" was when I was 8 years old and the object of my affections was a mid-20s apprentice butcher at the corner store! I was on Cloud 9 whenever he called me Rudolph—because my nose was so red in the winter snow. LOL! (Ahhh, the joys of an 8-year old heart!) An adult telling me the obvious might have done me more harm than good. (Regardless of age, humans never forget humiliation or embarrassment.)
I feel the same way about Ilhong's daughter. I think Ilhong was smart to honor and validate her daughter's feelings and pain. When the girl saw DG with a fiancée his own age, she already got the picture that she was too young and had been made a fool of by her own feelings. Ilhong trying to gently tell her that time will heal all, even though it's unbearably painful at this moment, was a positive, loving, and effective course of action.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
I don't find Mr. Seo particularly boring. To me, he's a proper gentleman who knows when to speak and when to act. His eyes and inner kindness emit much greater warmth and depth of character than most of the brash acting blowhards that need constant attention while continuing to self-promote and take pride in even their most irresponsible acts (Namgi boasting of how he'd scored with Ilhong before "Mr. Boring" put him in his place comes to mind.)
Although the oldest daughter will eventually get over DG and his misguided treatment of her, (he obviously cares for her as both the daughter of the woman he loves and as the person that she herself is) inflicting unneeded cruelty upon an impressionable, inexperienced child is akin to kicking a puppy dog for daring to wag it's tail. Let's see him try that garbage in front of Jinbong. Let's just see him try it...........

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
watched an ep yesterday. Doesn't look like much has changed. Scary Granny is still terrorizing everyone, including the three stooges Ilhong, Liz, and BF (forgive me Larry, Curly and Moe) and they’re still putting up with it. The old geezer is still talking about a divorce, DG still can't act on his own behalf, and Namgi is still conning folks.. although now he’s even stooped to conning children…. Maybe next week…
