Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)

Namgi is a hard character to deal with. While I really can't stand a lot of what he does, there is still a quality the actor brings to him that prevents me from writing him off all together or wanting to wipe up the floor with him.

The main thing that makes this situation tolerable for me is that DG and Ilhong have each other and are becoming more unified against Namgi and the world. Especially Ilhong. She seems quite able to grin and bear most of Namgi's antics these days, while DG will soon get there, too—if DG can control his frustration and rage at the idea that Namgi got there first and left behind Jinsol. DG and Ilhong can be impenetrable as a couple. They have developed a wonderful honesty between themselves—something that is always lacking in these K-dramas.

I'm glad to see Ayeong coming around, too. She started off as a decent character. Her resentments and jealousy are understandable seeing as how she was supposed to marry the guy, when someone else appeared and his heart was lost to her (Ilhong). Having the mother and grandmother's horrible, hateful influence didn't help any, either. But finally, it seems Ayeong accepts the futility of a relationship with DG. She deserves better. What kind of a marriage and life is it if/when your husband loves someone else? I hope she becomes an ally. She already tried to set Namgi straight.

Poor Namgi. He has yet to see the light that he can be a great father to Jinsol and receive her special love for him without having to marry her mother. He's another one who still lives in an ego fantasy world.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)

I really can't find fault with Namgi for wanting to be with his daughter. He's really just a big kid himself and he is good with Jinsol. I have other issues with this man.

Namgi is easily swayed by the wrong people. He mistakenly thinks he can get back with Ilhong. He has no understanding of what Ilhong has been through and he doesn't care. He doesn't THINK before he acts.. He doesn't allow Ilhong to make up her own mind ... and he could care less what SHE wants.. He's really selfish.

But what the heck.... did I see previews of Namgi with a van full of goons with weapons? What is that about? Guess we'll find out tonite!

DG just loves Ilhong. He doesn't like her past and it bothers the hell out of him to know she HAS a past and that past included Namgi. But DG admits it bothers him and he knows he has to get past that. He is open and honest with Ilhong.

DG also admitted he would have to get used to being around kids because he was never around them. He has no clue how to be a father but he wants so much to do it. He is learning to love those girls and see them through Ilhong's eyes. . He knows he is lacking but he also knows Ilhong and those girls are where he wants to spend his life.

It appeared that they pulled up in the area of DG/IH's new house, wasn't it? If so, DG & Ilhong have not yet moved in, right? The first guy getting out of the van was carrying a crowbar. My guess is Namgi is having the goons trash/destroy the honeymoon home. What a moron...

Well, what do you think? Is Old Geez really senile, or just putting on an act?

If Namgi goes thru with trashing the dream home, he will end up in jail again, won't he? That may be the end of his story. But if K-dramas have happy endings, then he will not go thru with it. And I think Geez has selective senility, but I can't figure out why! He doesn't want to be institutionalized, does he? How much longer will this series last? Are we getting close to the end?

What twisted set of values allow for a mother go to the extreme of destroying her son and young family to be's home and possessions thinking that it will lead him into the arms of an arranged marriage that he wants no part of? That woman is as crazy as her hairstyle.

I guess the neighbors must have thought that there was nothing unual about a band of thugs smashing brand new furniture to bits of the front lawn of a newly remodeled home. DG needs to either have a restraining order taken out against his mother or have the woman committed to a mental asylum. If crazy granny and her daughter can so easily get the old geezer locked away, why can't DG do the same for someone who actually has crossed over into the realm of dangerous insanity? emoticon

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)

I think Namgi would have trashed that house if Ilhong hadn’t been there. Her being there obviously changed his mind… And then, after giving it some thought, he decided he didn’t want to do it at all.

So when the house ends up trashed I don’t think Namgi had anything to do with it.

I do believe that Namgi has a conscience. But he's misguided. He’s only sees how everything affects him and he only sees what HE wants.

Namgi's change of heart over trashing the house (he even didn't want to do it the next day) makes me think he is starting to view his behavior through Jinsol’s eyes.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)

Can anyone post how may eps there are in this series? I don't want to miss the beginning of the new one; which I hope is better than this one.
I have been watching random eps, and all I've seen is the dumb get dumber, the greedy get greedier, and idiot woman compounding her mistakes. Even when she tries to correct one of her (many) mistakes, she only makes things worse.
This is too depressing for me. I don't even want to see the beginning of an ep ..where I'm just looking for a notice of the new drama.
I've seen worse, but this one seems to want try for that title. If I know how many eps there are, or how many are left, I'll know when the new one starts. TIA

Hey Adwatcher!! I am not sure the exact # of Eps but I think it is around 170 something. I am not sure what ep they are up to on the local station, I think they still have a couple weeks left. This has already ended on KBS America emoticon and we are onto the new one "You Stole My Heart" already. This is a morning show for us so I have only caught a few ep of the new one but it is funnier and seems to be a bit more upbeat......at least so far.

According to the official KBS VOD website, it ended with episode #174. I believe our episode tonight (Thurs, 6/26) was #107. class blockquote nsheldon wrote:

Either this was deleted from our KXLA viewing, or I missed it (I thought I had watched the entire episodes each night). The only thing I remember seeing is that Namgi showed up with his thugs, but because the family was there, he didn't want to go ahead with the trashing. He told them he'd pay them for today anyway and that they would have to return the next day or so.

I presumed he was just telling a fib in tonight's episode when he blamed it on DG's mother, but he actually changed his mind about vandalizing the house and it was DG's mom who sent them?

Well, that is encouraging about Namgi. He's bound to shape up before this drama is over, especially because it all involves Jinsol and his future with her.

I hope the mysterious Mr. Kim—who ran off with Seo's money from Master Furniture then made a killing in China—will return and give Mr. Seo a big pot of money! It will be so cool if Mr. Seo and Ilhong can buy Master Furniture outright for themselves! That would take care of a number of people and their problems.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)

Last night’s ep reminded me (sorta) of a British Farce – everyone trying to outdo everyone else… it was kinda funny to watch.

But, the hardest part about this drama, for me, and why I have skipped a lot of eps is having Baek Il-hong and Cha Seung-pyo (just copied the names from page 1) SOOOOO BOOORRRING!!

I am interested in how all the story lines end, but can't wait 'til its over.
