Re: K-Drama: 착한여자 백일홍 (The Innocent Woman)
It's kind of a nice twist that Liz is a singer. I'm sure she will make it big, then Geezette and Mrs. Seo will be licking her boots (stiletto boots!), trying to curry favor with her... and nab a few bucks from her, too!
I realized last night that Namgi is the only one I am enjoying because he's just so darn fun to watch. I love his eyes... so mischievous and cute. I'd sure like to see him in another drama. Even being the scoundrel he is, he's mostly in a half-way decent, or happy mood, or rising above the trouble of the moment.
Everybody else is pretty much a downer. Ilhong is a nice person, but she never gets out of the weeping, wobbling bubblehead doll state. Her best friend is either hysterical or screaming at/beating on Mr. Min. DG is a decent guy, but he's always frustrated, very angry, and slipping into violence. DG's artist mother doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities. The two black widows... well, nothing need be said about those two losers. Aeyong is becoming a decent person, but her role is always a downer, too—trying to fight off being corralled into a forced wedding and being disgusted with her mother and grandmother.
As for casting, I always thought the little Jinsol actress is a good fit as Namgi's child. Her personality, too, fits his style. Sarang is a good choice as daughter of Liz. The eldest daughter is probably like her father—calm, stable, and loving.
I keep wondering if something won't happen to Namgi to remove him from the story, allowing DG to become the father. Since he's led such a non-productive life, it just seems fitting that he might find redemption in giving up his life to save others somehow. But that doesn't seem too likely in this drama time slot. A little heavy... though we did see "Yuran" drive off the cliff to her death in the previous TV novel.
The only people I really want to see get their comeuppance are Mrs. Seo and her mother. They are really evil people. Maybe it's just that they're the first characters who are so openly greedy in simply wanting OG to either die or be legally incompetent, freeing up the money for them. I agree with you, robbo, Mrs. Seo might be the Wretch of the Decade award winner. Last night while watching, I was thinking about how really cold and evil she is and that I didn't recall ever seeing a character like her in one of these dramas. Although Granny is salivatingly greedy, she sometimes has fleeting moments of human compassion. Not so with her daughter. She seems to be 100% focused on money and vengeance against her husband and Ilhong—willing to do most anything to attain that goal.

Re: K-Drama: 착한여자 백일홍 (The Innocent Woman)
Tonight’s episode …..had some fabulous ending!
Was jumping for joy when DG said…. “I can never let you go!”
“I wouldn’t stay just one second away from you now” ...ahhhh~
Than the earthquake hit…..almost fell to the ground!
What a hit—smack! On Ilhong’s lips!

DG and Ilhong both need to support each other as a couple and say to hell with everyone else. They should run and get married quickly and then Ilhong should get pregnant. Maybe then his snooty mother and that psycho other family will back down.
.....Ditto on that quote, nsheldon!

Re: K-Drama: 착한여자 백일홍 (The Innocent Woman)
... caught today's (Weds) ep of Idiot Woman. It’s even worse than I remember.
There is one brain among all the adults in this drama, and idiot woman seems to always bypass her turn to have it. Her children seem to be the only ones with their own brain.
I have never seen a drama (Korean or otherwise) where there are so many selfish, callous, and stupid people.
Idiot woman’s children have been paying for her stupidity all along, and now her child is kidnapped while “Hot Pants” idiot woman is more interested in getting on with her boyfriend than protecting her children. Yes, some of you may say “how could she know?” Well, past history with all these people should have told Idiot woman she has to watch her children closely... And her BF... well, he’s missed his share of turns with a brain. I don’t even want to get started on the “Geezer” and his wife and daughter... It’s just too frustrating for me. Can’t wait for this to be over.

Re: K-Drama: 착한여자 백일홍 (The Innocent Woman)
Did we see a change of heart in Namgi last night? I think so. Watching Ilhong with DG, Namgi knew he was out of the picture. But more than that, he covered for Ilhong and DG to Mrs. Seo. He's taking the high road for a change.
I am worrried, though, that he might not make it in the end. The guy he's after (Grizzly, is it?) is a hit man and Aeran is worried that Namgi might get hurt in trying to clear his name and bringing Blackwidow Seo to justice. A hit man won't think twice about "disposing of" a troublesome guy like Namgi. But I hope that isn't the outcome in this story.
At any rate, Namgi is going to lose his good-paying job with DG's uncle. If he redeems himself, and if Mr. Seo and Ilhong get Furniture Master (or if they don't), Mr. Seo will probably employ Namgi. I would hate to see him out of Jinsol's life. They are so cute together and love one another. Of course, since Jinsol hasn't lived with Namgi, if he does get killed her grieving will be somewhat minimal and DG will make up for it. Jinsol could then remember her father as a man who tried to make things right in the end.
Thank goodness OG becomes lucid at just the right moments! Looked as though he was just about to put his thumb print on the document when both he and Sarang wised up.
So, what's the deal with Mrs. Seo? Why is she so desperate to have DG bid on Furniture Master? If she doesn't get Furniture Master with DG, is she going to lose all her money and Blue Deco will go bankrupt? I must have missed something somewhere.

Re: K-Drama: 착한여자 백일홍 (The Innocent Woman)
Isn’t it because her (MrsSeo) bid is not as much as MrSeo & Ilhong’s bid.
And in order to bid for her own, she had to risk her own BlueDeco as collateral????
Also she was counting on her dad’s money to bail her BlueDeco—right~???? But too late…the CD is gone! [ha-ha]
WOW…some money going around and around…..the “Patten Rights” that MrSeo & Ilhong received must have been a hefty amount. class blockquote nsheldon wrote:

I thought it was so touching when DG went to see Ilhong and he went in to check on Sarang. Then Jinsol came in and told him she wanted him to be her daddy. He has fallen in love with these kids. He sees how much their love for him brings him joy. He’ll be a great daddy for them.
..... Wasn't this moment a "ahhhhh~" moment!
Loved that scene!!!

Finally, something good happened to Ilhong. She won the bid over all of the evil people. Looks like the table is brgining to turn on the wicked witches..........
