Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
While I'm going to miss the original kids, it is nice to see Ilhong and her brood doing so well. The best part is that she took her long faithful lifetime friend along for the ride. Her friend was never hesitant to help Ilhong with little regard to her own peril. Let's hope they find a good match for her as well.
I do agree that having Ilhong fall into bed with Namji seems well out of character in this case. It seems a lot can happen when the camera is off or when the stations decide to get out their giant pair of scissors.
I would like to think that most guys fall for women because of the people that they are and not the stuff that they have. I had no idea that there was so much emphasis put on one's resume in matters of the heart. Most men look for a woman that will be good for themselves and their future children. Kind of like the one's that their mothers either were or weren't.

Kind of like the one's that their mothers either were or weren't. It has to be remembered that the traditional Asian view of marriage is that the most important part of one's life is the family as a whole. Putting one's own feelings first is considered the ultimate selfishness and is to be discouraged. (That's the major rift between Asian and American cultures—the traditional Asian way views American pride of individualism a great sin and to be driven out of a person.)
Naturally, every person feels an emotional draw, or love, for a particular person based on who they are as an individual. But, traditionally, Asian men would marry a woman who is "okay" but comes from a family that will enhance his family or both families' social/financial status. Being in love was gravy.
But the same is true here in upper crust society. Remember that Jackie Kennedy wouldn't let her son marry Darryl Hannah (an actress) because she didn't have the right background? Even though he fell in love with the woman he eventually married, she had the correct social status ("conditions") to marry into the Kennedy/Bouvier clans. In the other direction, wasn't it one of the Rockefeller boys who fell in love with a Scandinavian maid in his parents' home? He married her (against much family opposition), but it was a disaster in many ways, ending in a bitter divorce.
Question: Who is the young guy hanging around Ilhong at her company? He seems to like her, but I don't recall who he is, exactly.

So, it looks like Designer Guy and Il-Hong are fated to hook up. I thought it would be Designer Guy and Ayeong(?). Despite her constant "can't stand him," "I'll show him" she really does like him and wants to make herself to be everything that he is looking for. Why else would she try to go to the same school he did and study the same thing?
I do not like MIL. She showed not because she wants Sarang (I'm sure that's a plus), but I think she wants to live off of Il-Hong. JMO.
Edit: Fixed up the quote for you.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
I'm pretty sure that the line "...worked in a restaurant as a pimp." was the result of one of those supposedly hip new phrases (probably due to the assistance of some "native speaker" about the age of twenty-something) refering to MIL's job where she had to round up customers on the street to get them inside of the place they showed her working.
Every now and then I see this kind of thing among the subs and wonder if the translaters really know their target audience. Since a great many of these shows are viewed by a high percentage of school-aged girls and mature women, the direction of the subs may veer at times toward the ear of one group or another. As the subtitlers are not always the same persons or groups as the last episode or scene, we can often note the changing of shifts through the dialogue that appears. (Sometimes being forced to translate what is actually being conveyed in the scene. It can be like finding the right answers to a crossword puzzle. KDrama is like the best class you ever had. I never come to this class and think about ditching and I always learn something new! )

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
I'm hoping that Mr. Seo will be "rescued" from the horrible women in his life by Ilhong, "Mr. Weirdo" (Ilhong's perfect name for the designer jerk!) gets "tamed" by the pretty Seo daughter, and Liz Taylor (my own nickname for the semi-lush MIL) gets to make the elder guys final years better than the previous ones spent in the clutches of the two harpies. I know he's cheated on his wife, but all indications point to there being some reason and justification for his doing so.
