Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
I was wondering if a lot of people are watching this show-I guess not since the posts are few and far between-I watch here and there, so it's hard to follow the story now. And besides, this failed to get my full attention the same way "Here Comes Ajumma" did.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
Hi PINAYGIRL, I am also surprised to the lack of input on this topic.
I find our leading lady a little over the top in as much as bad things keep happening to her. Bucket upon bucket of NOT bad luck but, worse yet ROTTEN luck keeps falling on her head. Interesting how she always comes up smelling like a rose. Talk about the over the top, I have never seen such sad sack, she is the queen of "sad sack."
This drama at times, is just out and out silly. However, with that said there are days when I get home from work that a bit of sillyness is a really good thing. I will continue to watch this, not just because I fine it silly but the lead actor is sure nice to look at, I think it will be interesting to see how our Sad Sack makes a human being out of him. That old coot and his bully of a wife are interesting. I want to see how the writers untwine things between those two.
Well, with that, I hope more people get into posting here. I usually dont have to post because someone has already posted my thoughts.
It is good to know that I am not the only one watching this.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
While I enjoy Likeable or Not also, I sometimes miss that one, but I never miss an episode of this show. It has more of a screwball comedy affect to it at times (The oldest woman appears to have unseen super powers and the ability restrain, outquick, and pummel any and all who would incur her mighty wrath! ) I really like Ilhong who remains sweet, pure, and non-judgemental while playing victim too and mother hen to nearly everyone she meets. Her gentle spirit will in time win the day. I don't really like any of the male characters yet, save for the old guy (and Mr. Seo, of course!) whose romance with Sarang's mother is the only one that yet exists on this show. He gets a pass from me on account of what he's been forced to deal with while living with his domineering (yet apparently frigid) mother and his physically attractive, but ever suspicious, mean-spirited, money-grubbing daughter. When the schemer father of the little girl returns to attempt to regain Ilhong, we are to sure see a change in the character of designer creep (We already know that one of the underlying reasons for his coldness is a reaction to having been an orphan) as he realizes what a prize Ilhong truly is and has to fight to win her for himself.
Speaking of the mean granny, I recently ran across a clip from a show called Time Machine which captures the earlier works of current personalities that has her viewing pictures a quite lovely version of her former self (around 1968 or thereabouts, I would suspect) posing in a bikini and in a few other costumes. She chuckled knowingly as she admired the pictures. She was really quite the looker!

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
From last nights previews, looks like ConMan is finally back. I must admit, the only part I don't like is the Granny/Playboy Grandpa/and Okbun.
But, I do love Ilhong and her kids! I may have missed it, but I don't understand Ayeong's(?) dislike of Il-hong.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
OK, so tonight's episode answered a few questions. Designer creep is not an orphan, he was a neglected child who has now estranged himself from his uncaring mother. The pencil seems to have belonged to an art teacher with whom he was in love, but apparently died. Ayeong's hatred of Ilhong, like her mother's, is based upon jumping to the wrong conclusion regarding her relationship with the man of each one's "fancy." And, finally, I was right to want the creepy Ms. Eom out of the picture as she is certain to cause greater aggravation to Ilhong in her duty as a spy/troublemaker for Mrs. Seo. And here comes trouble again, straight out of prison to a theater near Ilhong!

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
Who was the woman who met Namgi at the prison? I know she's a con person, too... is she one of his paramours?
Well, I'm one who thinks Namgi will change and will end up with Ilhong. He swore to himself he would make it up to her when he first took off with her money. Then last night he again said he is a "changed man."
The way things are going, however, I can see her getting together with Designer Guy, too. But isn't he a little young for her? He and Seo's daughter seem to be more age appropriate. Ilhong certainly has the perfect, innocent and nurturing personality to take care of Designer Guy, filling in all the lonely, empty places he grew up with in his heart and soul. But also he truly respects her talents and abilities, which makes the relationship much more equal and balanced.
Maybe these are all trial balloons the writers used to see which way the audience wanted to go with this. They've left several options open and can legitimately chose whichever they want, it seems.
As for the three girls all having different surnames, the registry contained only male family lines, I believe. So Ilhong would not have her own, she would just be on a man's, such as her husband's and the girls would be on their bio-father's registries. All a moot point now, though, since the registry has been abolished in So. Korea. In a former episode, it mentioned she was only Sarang's legal guardian. That's why she's so worried about losing Sarang if either bio-parent appears and wants custody.
I'm finally beginning to enjoy this drama. I've watched it all along... just didn't feel inclined to comment.

Re: K-Drama: (The Innocent Woman)
I've been thinking the same thing about how sticky the situation is with Ilhong's daughter and Designer Guy. The daughter has said before that DG is her "love," and it seems pretty clear that she's got a monumental crush on the guy—and not as a father. (Of course, the line of demarcation between father and lover can be a narrow one to a young teenage girl.)
Namgi and Designer Guy - Gosh, I don't know where this is going. In the beginning, I always thought Namgi was a perfect match with Ilhong. They both are kind of simple-minded, naive, and enjoyed the same things. If he hadn't been a con man, I would have thought them perfect together. So, if he reforms himself, everything seems to fit together pretty well in my opinion. Then there is the fact that Namgi is the littlest girl's father. Ilhong must have had some feelings for him if she got pregnant by him.
On the other hand, I kind of want Ilhong with DG. He's beginning to have a heart, softening up a little bit. The main point that makes me think they might end up together is, Who else is there? Can DG really care about Seo's daughter? (Aeyong, is it?) It doesn't seem likely that DG won't have someone in his life, especially since his parents are getting to the point of forcing him to marry soon. Maybe he will get himself into a dating arrangement with Aeyong just to get them off his back. They'd sure never accept Ilhong, three kids (by different fathers), a widow, etc.
Oh, and I agree, the combination I'd like to see is Ilhong with Mr. Seo. Age is a factor, but then the Old Geezer is with Liz Taylor and there's a mighty big age spread there, too. Maybe age difference doesn't matter unless it's young people in their first marriage. Mr. Seo would be the perfect husband and father to Ilhong and her girls. It seems rather unlikely, though, that he and his wife will permanently break up, especially with Aeyong not yet married. Maybe the wife will change her ways and treat Mr. Seo better. In the beginning of the drama, she seemed to be a lot more understanding and caring than her mother. Also, I'm sure Mr. Seo will get a reality check watching Ilhong get involved with a younger man (either DG or Namgi).
