Thanks for the heads-up for the schedule creidesca, at least we get a general idea as to when the shows are supposed to air.

I've been watching My Sister over the weekend. Never heard of this drama before. What got me interested was Kim Sung So from Lawyers. He always seems to play second fiddle to the lead and never gets the girl so it'll be interesting to see if how this'll turn out. It seems to be typical classic plot but so far it's ok. The lead's younger brothers do seem a bit wimpy even for kdrams though.

For anyone who has missing episodes, you can rent the english-subbed DVDs for My Sister/My Beloved Sister from a Korean video rental store near you.

OK, going through many hours of research and links, I am still not sure exactly what I need to do.

I have an analog TV, I have a paid cable service by Time Warner Cable along with a digital receiver (Motorola DCT2224) they've provided me, and I live in Los Angeles. I do not have a rabbit-ears antenna, and I don't know if there's an antenna on the roof (we're in an apartment).

Before I even consider whether I can watch 18.3, I don't even know how to tune to it. I see that most receivers' remotes should have a - or . button to directly tune to a subchannel, but mine doesn't. Where do I start?

Well, first of all, since you have cable service, Time Warner has taken care of the "digital to analog" conversion for your analog TV (by hooking up the digital receiver). Any discussion here about rabbit ears or an outdoors antenna does not apply to your situation, because you do not use any form of outdoors or rabbit ears antenna—you use cable service.

You should be able right now to access all the digital stations your Time Warner package contains. I, myself, do not have cable service of any sort so I am not familiar with how they number their channels, but I would imagine that Time Warner has a listing of all their available stations, including KSCI's 18.3.

Maybe someone here has a quick link to the station numbers applicable to your situation and how to get there. But I'd think your next step would be to access your Time Warner station guide.

Thank you for the response. By station guide do you mean channel lineup? Because I have checked it and found no station called MBCD.

"MBCD" is not a station itself. The station is KSCI (TV logo is LA 18). On analog broadcast TV it is channel 18. Try looking for KSCI or LA 18.

KSCI has about 7 or so digital "channels" (e.g. 18.1, 18.2, 18.3, 18.5....) One has the regular LA 18 programming we see over the air (antenna, not cable), then it has a subset showing several others, such as Armenian TV. The MBCD is one of these under digital channel 18.

Oh, right. Yes I have KSCI on channel 18 as well. I've tried many many things but cannot seem to figure out how to flip to the subchannels.

Unfortunately, I'm not remotely a technical type, so I can't help further. But it seems a question Time Warner could provide the answer to.... reaching a rep is probably a nightmare, though, right? Sorry, I can't be of further help.

You have helped me more than you know, and I appreciate it greatly. Yes, I have tried several times to reach an operator at Time Warner and... well it seems like you know :P

I'm sure one of our members will see your question here and may very well be able to help you figure this out, Simon. With this being a long holiday weekend, we might have to wait a little. Let's keep our fingers crossed! emoticon
