Thanks for all the great info hantaejun.
To clarify for myself, a "Digital-to-Analog DTV Converter box" is NOT the same thing as the digital cable box provided to me by the cable company? So what I'm asking is, can't I connect an antenna to the digital cable box from the cable company to catch OTA channels? Sorry for my confusion.Just a thought, but I may be missing something here... unless your ANALOG TV is really really old (and I mean ancient), then it should already have two RF inputs in the back labeled "ANTENNA IN" and "CABLE IN". Seeing you have a digital cable box, you might be connected to the CABLE IN. Have you ever tried connecting an actual ANTENNA to the ANTENNA INPUT of your TV? Your remote should have a way of switching between cable and antenna. Give it a try, and if that works, then you are a prime candidate for a DTV box.

Yes my TV seems to have just an ANTENNA IN. Looking at the setup, there's a coaxial from the wall going to the cable box, a coaxial from the cable box to the VCR, then a line from the VCR to the TV.

Ducky111: ... actually avoided mentioning the so-called "low power" stations, as there are none in my TV market, and it would only confuse the dear souls in this thread already. You're eventually going to have to go digital, so why not bite the bullet now while there are free $40 coupons still available. Glad to hear you get KBS for free, though. You know that the newer DTV converter boxes now have "analog pass thru" so you can watch the low power stations, in addition to the digital OTA. Sorry hantaejun...My sister lives in LA and refuses to buy any antenna...
But she didn't know anything about the stations, since she only watches cable...
Two weeks back in Chicago.. 4eps of Sejong....
And 4 of Emperor of the sea...
Now she wants to know where to get more....
The first one is free...Then you pay....

Tonight, (about 11:30 p.m.) I've been watching a Korean Special Pop Concert (that's what the program guide lists it as).
I really don't listen to much pop music these days, so I wasn't planing to watch this program, but I stopped to check it out, and to my surprise, it was mostly older singers who were singing what I learned is called Teuroteu (Trot) music, which is very similar to Japanese enka music, which just happens to be my favorite.
Did anyone else catch this show? Any more info about this concert? Do any of the board members here follow or know much about the popular Trot singers out there. I can't read Korean, so I don't know any of their names.
I really enjoyed the program, but I suppose most of you younger people probably think it's just so uncool... I'm getting too old. LOL!
