Re: K-Drama: 천추태후 (The Iron Empress)
I haven't been keeping up with this for sometime but maybe I'll have to tune in just to see Choi Jae Sung. I must confess I didn't really know his real name. The first time I ever saw him was in Time Between Wolf and Dog although his blond hair annoyed me. The second and only other time I've seen him was in the older drama "Eye of the Dawn". He was really impressive in that, but i really liked the whole story and seeing actors that are now playing grandpas.

K-Drama: 천추태후 (The Iron Empress)
I've been taping this entire series (to keep, not just to watch), and didn't miss anything. Until episode 61. I had a technical problem and missed half of the episode.
I tried downloading episode 61 from Drama Crazy. I managed to download it, but the English subtitles did not download.
Is there any source to download episode 61 with the subtitles, too? I'd like to have a complete collection. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: K-Drama: 천추태후 (The Iron Empress)
Last night's episode...
I'm still waiting for Commissioner Kim to 'get his.'
The poor emperor is so confused he doesn't know which end is up (or maybe he does). After falling desperately in love with—then executing—the Royal Consort Babe who betrayed him, now he's found his 'true love' in the arms of the former female impersonator/street dancer, the male attendant planted by Kim Chiyang. Wasn't that a tender kiss?! LOL! Like watching the Emperor kiss a wet rat. Oh, and I almost forgot... now he's returning to the dark den of opium addiction.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Emperor really meant it when he indicated these actions are intended only as a ruse to make sure his mother de-thrones him and sends him out of the palace. As he said to himself, he's sorry for hurting his wife and is hoping to walk out of the palace with her into a happier life for the both of them. Anything would be better than what he's lived so far under the extreme pressures in the palace. He's not cut out for that, especially with his medical history. But it's a dangerous game he's playing.
I'm still hoping Gang Jo will return as the one to both expose and give Commissioner Kim his richly deserved payback. But, really, General Gang Gam Chan (Lee Duk Hwa) has first dibs on Kim Chiyang for sending out Saila to eliminate the peaceful, gentle Prince Gyeong Joo and his young son (whom she secretly spared). Okay, I hope Gang Jo and General Gang are in tandem to the end in taking care of Kim Chiyang.
I'm still waiting for Iron Empress to finally see a little something that will trip the wire in her brain and cause all the little clues to add up to the real Kim Chiyang. This reminds me of a domino set up where the whole thing goes down one after another once the first one falls. class blockquote merrie wrote:

This might not help you, as Aja-Aja.com isn't a source for recording to a video tape, but it is excellent if you can download to your computer and 'burn' it onto DVD disk. Aja-Aja has really easy tutorials on how to do this and once you've done it, it really is easy. The episode quality is great and so are the subs, which are made by fansubbing groups like WithS2. For Iron Empress, so far they have completed the subs through episode 61.
Aja-Aja/Iron Empress
If worse comes to worse, you can download and print only the subtitles as a document. Not a good arrangement—but better than nothing.

Actually, I have watched up through episode 72 on line. Just go to Google and put in the title. It has subs.

K-Drama: 천추태후 (The Iron Empress)
Thanks, nchristi, I will check this (Aja-Aja.com) out.
Pali, I appreciate your help. However, I was not too clear: I have already seen the episode, but I also want to keep a copy of the complete series. So watching it on line is not my goal. I want to be able to download the episode with intact subtitles, which I cannot do at Drama Crazy or Viikii (I tried).
Thanks again. I am happy to have found this board with a community of people who will help each other. :-)

K-Drama: 천추태후 (The Iron Empress)
Back to report success! At first, I didn't think it was going to work, because the subtitle-file name at D-A didn't match the video-file title from Aja-Aja. Then I thought, what the heck, I will try renaming one of the files to match the other file, and you know the rest.
So, thanks again. I've bookmarked boh sites for future reference. :-)

Re: K-Drama: 천추태후 (The Iron Empress)
Wow. Was it ever anti-climactic when Iron Empress finds out and confronts Kim Chiyang with his treachery. Dud. What a disappointment. But I guess I really shouldn't have expected much out of IE in this situation. I wrote her off a long time ago and haven't liked her since she was trying to kill her brother, the Emp.
My favorite scenes involving IE have been with her son and how he infuriates her with his sarcastic way of laying everything all out before her. He sure knows how to press her buttons, doesn't he?! Usually, I hate that kind of talk, but in this case, I always felt his mother deserved every single word from Song. She ruined his life for her own ambitions. Looks like the biggest payback in this drama has been from her son.
I felt very sorry for Song having to go through all that humiliation and shocking behavior to be dethroned and escape the palace. But I was very glad it was all part of his plan and that he hadn't fallen victim to the opium. Still, it seems as though being a Royal is a death sentence in this drama. Daergyeong's (sp?) father tried to escape the political life, moving far away into the country and disappearing into common society. Even there he was hunted down and killed because he was an heir to the Royal bloodline. I hope Song can escape that fate. I hope, too, that he can work things out with his wife, who now finds him repulsive, shuddering at the thought of even being touched by him when he reached his hand out to touch her shoulder.
Well, maybe IE is learning some hard lessons—finally. I hope she takes some positive actions in dealing with Kim Chiyang before this drama ends. Unfortunately, in societies ruled by kings and queens, so many things depend on nothing other than the Royal's whim at a given moment.

I thought last night's ep. was chopped up and kind of hard to follow. After Empress had rejected Song's touch, a few scenes later, she's putting cold cloths on his forehead with no explanation!
