K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

The introduction of Minsu's MOL into this drama will prove to be some added fun...she is a great actress and with Minsu's current troubles, I am looking forward to the upcoming "tangles"

Yes, MIL is very good and always enjoyable. I wish the parents would tell Sumi the entire story so she might be more sympathetic to her sister.

Sumi has to be the 'red herring' she will bring the ex hubby into the mix. Sumi's mother is such an enabler, what has she done right?

Pali: I agree.. I don't think Sumi is a 'horrible' person and I am understanding why. If she knew the truth maybe she wouldn't be so angry. Both parents show so much love and kindness towards Suin (and not so much to Sumi)..

Let me tell on myself for something... I think most grandparents 'favor' their first grandchild. I was guilty of that also. I didn't realize how much I openly showed it until one time something happened (I wont go into that) and the younger of the two girls said, "Thank God ****** wasn't hurt. It's better if I am hurt instead of her because you would feel too bad if she got hurt". That's been a good 20+ years ago and I still feel bad she said that.

I think Sumi/Suin's mom loves Suin so much because she wasn't her bio child. She tried harder. Then she coerced her into a marriage Suin didn't want (but she had Suin's best interest at heart). She wanted her to be with a successful man and she had no idea the man was abusive (and not into women as it turns out).

Minsu. Those determined to be rich will stab themselves all over with many pains.

What happened when Minsu met in the restaurant with his shifty friend and "Mr. Yu?" Was there a deleted scene regarding them? I wondered if maybe Mr. Yu is a loan shark of some sort, or wants to take over a controlling interest in the hospital? It was after that scene that Minsu went to visit his grandfather's GF to ask for a loan, so whatever the deal was it didn't go through. ??

Sumi. I have little sympathy for her. She's a complainer who sees herself as entitled to a lot she doesn't do anything to deserve. Was Sumi really defending her family honor in the beauty shop? I don't think so. Her true motivation was shown in her attack on Suin at home. Sumi's interest is in making sure Sumi is comfortable in life. S-Mom was entirely capable of handling the situation herself and coming out on top in the self-respect department. Sumi is the one who dragged them all down into the gutter by getting disrespectful and physically violent towards the ex-MIL.

Maybe telling Sumi might help something, but it never has in the past. I haven't seen her use information to reason on an issue and change her behavior. Instead, Sumi's MO is to deliberately misuse information as further ammo against whomever is her target du jour.

Regarding Minsu's MIL, I had the feeling last night that she might be coming to live with her daughter's family, or something like that. She's hiding something about the 'farm,' and it is also significant that she asked both sides of the family to meet together upon her arrival.

Ah, poor Minsu... Seems he is out trying to borrow money from anyone he can to save the hospital. It seems Minsu and his dad are both at fault.. Dad tries to live life by doing right and Minsu was trying to save the hospital by housing fake patients. Either way the hospital is in jeopardy.

I found it amusing that Minsu was trying to get his sister to sell the cab and hand over the money. She is furious at this suggestion. Yet, she is just like him. She was going around trying to get money to buy the cab and felt the family 'owed' her. I am not too impressed with either of these siblings!!

The Chow is the watch dog on the set making sure Suin knows she is unwanted there (at least in her mind). She tells Suin that she already talked to Hyeonsu's mom, confirmed with Suin that she is quitting after the project is completed, and then tells Suin she will will talk to Hyeonsu's mom again, like a threat! The Chow is a very unlikeable character.

It was so sweet of Hyeonsu to notice that Suin was wearing uncomfortable shoes and I was so glad she allowed him to buy her tennies... he's just the sweetest guy ever... I loved that they visited their old school together. It explained that it was Hyeonsu who broke it off (so that she 'should' marry the rich guy). He loved her so much (even then) that he felt the other guy would be better for her than he was.

I just love Minsu's MIL. I hope she sticks around longer..

So far, I am very happy with this show..

Well, it took me a while but I joined the "Hate the Chow" club emoticon She's just a very vindictive & vicious girl!! Can't understand why such an attractive girl can't leave well enough alone & move on!! Why latch onto a guy who has NO feelings for you??

I LOVED how Sumi stood up for her mom...that old witch (Suin's MIL) deserved it for knocking down Sumi's mom...but then to blame it all on Suin?? I still like Sumi & can kind of understand her "jealousy" toward Suin.

Can't stand Minsu emoticon Just don't like how he tried to hide the insurance fraud & is hitting up the whole family for money, while trying to keep his dad from finding out!! Not to mention, I HATE the way he treats that cutie of a wife, Miryeong!!

I have to wonder after what happened at the end...will Suin lose the baby?? Something to think about...not the mention, the repercussions, if she does emoticon

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

I'm not a big fan of Minsu's but I don't dislike him that much either. I think he will get better over time. Bet by the end of the show he will realize and appreciate his adorable wife!

The Chow however... OMG I can't stand her... She's actually JEALOUS that Hyeonsu saved Suin from getting hit by a car. To her that was like a declaration of love from him to Suin. Hyeonsu is so perfect (at least to me) that he would have gotten hurt saving anyone from getting hit by a car. Chow naturally has run to Hyeonsu's (HS?) to complain!

Suin's mother likes what she sees... Hyeonsu holding Suin's hand. Dad likes it too but he's trying to be more realistic about it... I mean, he knows Hyeonsu has a family and that it would be highly unlikely that a family would accept Suin in her situation.

Ok, Jisu and Hiro... Gotta happen!!!

Sumi was her normal nasty jealous self (saying to Suin, "It's no big deal")... I'm trying very hard not to dislike her (unless she snags herself a Hiro!)..

WOW ending!! Hyeonsu's mom calls Suin to meet privately. Suin's mom calls Hyeonsu to meet privately. Both mom's run into each other... both are shocked. I hope I hope I hope Hyeonsu and Suin walk up and see both mom's!! Then both mom's would know who's the mom of the other... This is really getting good...

Hyeonsu's mom is really irritating me, with her domineering presence over his life & who he should date emoticon He's a grown man, for crying out loud!! If she likes Chowon so much, then she should marry her emoticon

I also want to like Sumi or, at least, not dislike her but she doesn't make it easy!!

Really like the chemistry between Jisu & Hiro...definitely see them getting together & I agree with Hiro, Jisu has a GREAT smile emoticon

Obviously, there's some sort of history between Suin's mom & Hyeonsu's mom, and it doesn't look like a pleasant history!! Should be VERY interesting, to find out what that history is!!

Agree, nsheldon...this drama is getting REALLY good!!

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

A few episodes back there was a scene where Mrs. Han passed Jisu in slow motion by the elevator at Jisu's workplace. Those kind of slow motion crossings always mean something. Ever since that episode I have the strongest feeling that Mrs. Han is Jisu's biological mother. Like wise there was a similar slow motion crossing between Mrs. Han and Jisu's adoptive mother. At the end of tonights episode Jisu's adoptive mother calls Mrs. Han younger sister so they have met before and Jisu's adoptive mother remembers it. That gives me the feeling that Jisu's adoptive mother delivered Mrs. Han's baby-and lied to her that the baby was stillborn then adopted the baby/Jisu. My inner KDrama writer surfaces again..
