K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

no unfortunately the digital isn't the problem, they are already on digital broadcasting. I think the problem is that this tiny station has 3 or 4 digital channels all 35. 35-A, 35-B, etc. And the "5 minute mind program"(s) are on all of them. I think the threat is just that in reality. I know a lot of Korean businesses are already supporting them, I think it's just a ploy for more.

tonight's plea included a local professor of Korean who went on and on about his students at some local univeristy, not sure which one, but he was talking about him asking his students why they were taking this class, most of them were taking it because they watch the dramas in Philadelphia and he was going on and on about what a shame it would be if we lost them. they are getting so dramatic. they are offering a music cd of "you are my destiny" now if you give them a hundred $'s, and a small Korean cookbook with 18 recepies if you give another hundred, and if you give 250 you get the background music cd, the book, AND a dvd of the female Korean chef who wrote the book demonstrating a few of the recipies. Desperation time.

the good news is that I'm travelling to Dallas Texas for a week to visit my 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren, and I was talking to one of my darling daughters today and mentioned the dramas and she said they dont' get them. Wrong. I found their Asian station and they have SIX running at a time there! Imagine! And not one of the ones running now have I seen. I'm tempted to peek in for a week, but then I'd never be able to see them again unless they show one here at a time, so maybe I won't and be content with what I have. hahahaha

thanks for letting me vent my frustration.

Now I'll have to miss a week and I'll bet it's the time whe the EX shows up. Right now I am at the part where Hye has just cut his hand saving her from the speeding car after the Chow-demon was talking to her. I am REALLY disliking this Chowon character. And I'm not too happy with Hye's mother, or his brother Minsu at the moment. I'll have to check in here while I'm gone and read what's happening in my absense.

so thanks again for posting here!

Since Sumi has no acting experience,it`s probably the Ex trying to manipulate the family. She will also be in for a shock when the backround of Jisu and Suin are revealed.

I think so, too! class blockquote Dr Dad is sitting up; recognizes his father; and a 'Who are you' to his wife!! and ...

Jisu takes a drunk Sumi home and dad comments how much Jisu looks like his wife when she was younger. Oh boy!!
Both to liven up the place. Should be fun. Wonder if Dr. Dad will recognize his children, too, or just his father. If its just his wife and maybe Dr. Son, then the stress is causing a specific mental block..... hee, hee!

And, depending on what stage his memory is, it would be a hoot if he's the one who spills the beans and says who's Jisu's real mom is.

I guess one needs to expect melodrama and nothing more during this time slot. There is a new show which looks somewhat promising called "Slingshot on KBS World Mondays and Tuesdays. However, when I think a show is not going to have gimmicks in the story line, I am always disappointed.

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

Very good episode tonight (which I missed the first 10 min of!!)... I usually watch it on KBS World because I am pretty sure I get about 5 or more minutes of it. Anyway, due to the memorial service Road wasn't shown so I assumed it wouldn't show at 8:20 either...

I cried when Suin listened to Hyeonsu's message to her baby. He's so sweet. Then Sumi took it well (considering it's Sumi) about her not getting that role on her own merit. Getting to like that girl (just stay away from Hiro).

Poor Dr Dad. I didn't expect this. I thought he would awake having remembered hearing all those conversations that took place in his room ... but he woke up not remembering that his brother had died; that he is married to that old woman Dr.; and that he has children... I bet they'll bring Suin's mom to him because he'll ask for her. He probably thinks she is still married to his brother.

Then Suin goes out to get eggs and it looks like creepy ex is going to kidnap her. Where is her superman (Hye) when she needs him!!!

Can anyone let me know what happened at the beginning of the episode?

class blockquote Can anyone let me know what happened at the beginning of the episode? A short repeat of last nights ending.... recognizing dad and not his wife and thinking his son was his brother.

If Dr. Dad thinks son is/was brother (they've told him no, its your son), wonder if when he sees his "daughter" if he'll say who she really looks like! class blockquote I bet they'll bring Suin's mom to him because he'll ask for her. He probably thinks she is still married to his brother. I was going to ask.... I guess she was around when they were in their 20's. That would be the same age Jisu is now!

Yes, I think Sumi is slowing maturing.

Both 18.1 and 18.3 is airing the National Service.

BTW, the same banner (running across the bottom) is the one I asked about in the Precious You thread. Does anyone know what the station is announcing.... could it be the switch over on June 12 or is something happening to that station?

LOVED the scene between Suin & Sumi...really nice of Suin to support Sumi like that emoticon Also, liked how mature Sumi was, regarding the news about JERK being responsible for her "big break"...she could've really lost it!! Maybe, Sumi is maturing, finally...plus, she's really cute, though not on the level of Jisu emoticon

I'm guessing Dr. Dad doesn't recognize Auntie (his sis), because of the "age gap in his mind"!! But, he recognizes his dad?

Can't believe JERK, threatening Suin like that emoticon He seriously needs to get beaten to a pulp by somebody, anybody!!

Can'tGetEnough: Thanks for filling me in.

I wonder if anything has ever been said about what happened to Suin's bio mother. I really don't recall hearing if she had died or what. I only know that when Suin's step mom met and married the dad, he already had Suin.

I bet Suin goes with the Creep because she'll think if she can calm him down it's a way of protecting her baby from him (he may try to hit her again). What she should do is scream bloody murder.

Suin's bio mother and if Suin knows current mom is a step-mom. Another question I have, do we know how old Suin was when dad remarried? If she was very young, she may not remember anything. I'm sure all will come out when everything hits the fan.

Male Japanese model.... did he resytle his hair? He comes across more applealing (for me). class blockquote What she should do is scream bloody murder. In real life yes. But, in K Drama that and if she had gone to New Zealand, end of drama and on with a new one.

Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

Suin does know she is not bio daughter of her mom. They discussed it once.

Well, I don't think it was really 100% Ex's fault that Suin miscarried. As soon as he started arguing with her she showed signs of being in pain, so the miscarriage was already starting. Hmm, I think he's probably to blame anyway because he's had her so upset the past few days.

Maybe Ex will be so affected by this, and knowing he was most likely the blame, that it will cause him to change his ways. He did tell Suin that he wanted to be the kind of dad that she had, and not like his own father. That shows he knows what a good father is all about.

Hyeonsu was asked by his co-workers if he had seen Ms Han the day before and he said yes. When was that? He didn't see Suin the day before did he? Maybe something was cut out? Because Ex was yelling about Suin still seeing Hyeonsu also, like he had known they had seen each other.

I felt so bad for Suin at the end of tonight's episode.

Dr Dad acts like he's 13 years old. I wonder what age he 'thinks' he is.... He's going to leave the house alone. He has no idea where he is or how to get around. He just wants to go home. Maybe Gramps' old neighbor will take Dr Dad in for a few days.
