Re: K-Drama: 집으로 가는 길 (The Road Home)

Sorry but I HATED the way they "humanized" that SOB JERK...and TOTALLY out of the blue emoticon emoticon

Makes NO sense that the CREEP uses intimidation on Suin...and she falls for it & agrees to go back to the States with him, after everything he's done to her emoticon Are you kidding me??

And, in the hospital, all the JERK can say is how sorry he is, while sobbing?? NOBODY changes THAT quickly, especially an EVIL SOB!! And I don't care if he was the baby's father!! He has NO fatherly instincts, whatsoever!!

I'm VERY disappointed in the direction the show took tonight...but do want to see where they go from here & will continue to watch...for now

Hyeonsu was asked by his co-workers if he had seen Ms Han the day before and he said yes. When was that? He didn't see Suin the day before did he? Maybe something was cut out? Because Ex was yelling about Suin still seeing Hyeonsu also, like he had known they had seen each other.
In yesterday's episode (about 3/4 through), Mr. Han hosted a business lunch with Hyeonsu, Suin, and another executive—maybe from the company that is going to air the Single Mom series. Hyeonsu was there early, then Mr. Han arrived with Suin. He excused himself to meet the other exec, leaving Suin and Hyeonsu alone to talk for a couple minutes. EX's spies apparently saw this meeting and reported it to him, whipping up his paranoia to fever pitch. class blockquote Dr Dad acts like he's 13 years old. I wonder what age he 'thinks' he is.... He's going to leave the house alone. He has no idea where he is or how to get around. He just wants to go home. Maybe Gramps' old neighbor will take Dr Dad in for a few days.I think Dr. Dad acts more like he's 6 years old! Can't you just see him in a little Lord Fauntleroy suit?!

Can`t feel any sympathy for Ex. Instead of seeking medical treatment for his many psych problems, he came back to Korea out of control, blaming everybody except himself. I guess Dr. Dad will gradually get back his memory. He`s probably blocking out memories of his brother`s and mother`s death.

I think the only reason Suin agreed with the Ex to go to the states with him, was so that she could get him to calm down and get out of the violent situation she was in. In abusive relationships, when things are getting heated, you tend to say and do whatever you can to protect yourself.

I found it very symbolic that the Ex has the blood of his child on his hands. It is going to be an all out war now between Suin's family and the ex's family.

I felt so bad for Suin at the end of Friday's episode. It was very sad.

Ateoyie: I'm sorry. My memory is terrible. But I checked the previous page (on this board) and there is a pretty good description of the events for Thursday.. Dr Dad woke up and was confused by everyone. The only person he fully recognized was his father. He has forgotten his brother died. He finally remembered his sister but commented on how old she was.

Hyeonsu gave Suin some things she left at work. One thing was a sound thingy that she can let the baby listen to her voice. Hyeonsu recorded a sweet message on it for the baby.

Suin should run away as fast as she can. Never think that your abusive ex is feeling repentent and things will be "different" now. Your Ex has a plan for you. As soon as he gets you away from your family, you are as good as toast. He feels that the loss of this child is really your fault. You drove him to the cruel things that he does. Therefore, in the mind of the ex, Suin should be severly punished. If Suin goes with him, she will not survive. If the writers are interested in treating this subject honestly, they will not humanize him. Abusers cannot be "humanized" unless they have some serious long term treatment and most of them are never "cured". Their ego doesn't allow them to tell the therapist the reality of their cruelity-most of them feel it is no one elses business-not even the therapist.

From the minute she returns it will begin. (I've been there done that). Suin should run to the safety and comfort of her family. Remember, no one deserves to be abused. Let the family rip him apart legally. After getting away it will take time for her to undo the damage of living with a creep like that (she was on that journey and making progress when all of this stuff happened). After awhile, Suin will find herself again--a bit changed but much stronger and Suin has a brighter future with Hyeonsu to look forward to..

Ex arrives at Suin's parents' home & tells her that if she doesn't get in the car with him, he'll hurt/kill her...not sure, which one, but he was VERY threatening & she had no choice, and they end up at the river!!
